Who wants to hit the beach this summer? We have a few mths to go to get there. So who's with me? It's not too late to join. What you can do is calculate losing 2-3 lbs per wk. & that is how you can determine losing your weight by the summer. I AM VERY EAGER TO LOSE 40 LBS BEFORE THE SUMMER. IM WORKING ON LOSING MY WEIGHT AT A MODERATE, SAFE PACE SO I CAN KEEP IT OFF. FOR ANYONE ELSE WANTING TO BE IN A BIKINI BY THE SUMMERTIME PLEASE POST HERE! WE NEED TO HAVE A GROUP OF SUPPORT FOR MOTIVATION TO GET THROUGH THIS. IT'S TOO TOUGH TO DO ALONE. I am 5'3. I started my weightloss this year at 167.5 lbs & have my current weightloss listed on my tracker below. I am eating lowfat everyday. I drink 6-8 glasses of 8 oz water daily. My phen was started on 3-7-09. I take 37.5mg but only half a pill a day. I am trying not as much in hopes that I can get off of them within my last couple of weeks of weightloss. I encourage everyone to do 30min. cardio daily (walking, jogging, swimming, etc) or at least 45min cardio 4 days a week. Please share your stories. Good Luck to ALL !!!

Welcome aboard! :) We need all the support we can get. I'm sure all of us could use it since we've been struggling with this weight for too longgg! I wish all of you the Best of Luck ! Being in a bikini by Summer has been one of my goals since I started...however, now that I'm near goal, my thing is that I want to LOOK GOOD in a bikini by Summer!!! So, I've been working it hard at the gym doing both cardio and resistance training and I've been serious about this for about 6 weeks now. Due to my gym not having very user-friendly childcare hours, I am only able to go every other day, but I workout for about an hour and a half on those days. The in between days I just allow my muscles time to recover. Now that the weather is starting to get nicer, I'm planning to start running on the in between days, at the football track near my house and taking my toddler with me. I don't know how well that will work, but there is usually no one out there and it's fenced in, so I'm hoping he'll just play in the grass in the middle while I run. I'm hoping that will help with toning and sculpting my hips and thighs to be more bikini-friendly by Summer!!! I just started tanning yesterday, too, (no hate replies please, I'm sensible about it and I'm a Cosmetologist by trade, so I use the highest quality products with antioxidant and anti aging components as well as keeping my skin well hydrated)
I was looking at the new Bikini's at Dillard's yesterday and WOW, I can't wait! It's been YEARS since I could pull that off and actually look good in one!!! It's a GREAT feeling to take your body back!!!

YAY i cant wait for this summer i started my journey July 8th at 210lbs and as of Thanksgiving iam 136 ( goes up and down) Right now iam 141 but my goal was always 130 we can so do this! espically with support :)

I really, really want to be in on this, but I'm just afraid I can't do it. I'm seriously lacking motivation right now and my doctor just upped thyroid meds b/c my count was so off this time when he did my bloodwork. Maybe this is why I haven't been losing???? I have 25-30 pounds to lose at least. If ya'll can help me kick my butt in gear I'll try to join in. I need some major pushing though!!!!:) (is 41 to old to even think about a bikini. I usually wear a tankini)

Heck no, girl!!! My aunt is almost 47 and can rock out a bikini like no 20 year old I've ever seen!!! LOL! You can do this!!! I have faith in you. Sorry to hear about your thyroid but maybe that is what the hangup is. Wish you lived close so we could be gym buddies. I would LOVE to not have to go by myself!!!

I want to be in a bikini by my birthday July 7th. That is my goal. I want to be able to have a birthday party by the river and should I so choose to do so, have JUST MY BIKINI ON when I jump in!!!...NOT SHORTS AND A FRICKIN SHIRT. It is SO hard to swim with all that crap on!!! I REALLY want to wear one of those little ones with the cute little ties on the side and not worry if my thunder hips are gonna roll over top of them!

Please tell me your secret to how you are able to loose about a lbs a day. I am on my third week of phen but the first 14 days I only lost 4.5 lbs on the scale gaining 1/2 lbs of muscle and 1/2 lbs of water. But I swear I count my calories and I have been going to the gym 4 days a week burning about 300 calories each time I go. Tell me what you eat or whatever your secret is. Our starting weight wasn't too far away from each others and you are really on the ball. You go girl! I am sooo envious!!! Please help! lol

Its all the same. Not to hijack the thread but I think its the spirit of feeling good in a swim suit, not the actual suit.
So one piece, two piece it doesn't matter...the more the merrier!

Count me in I havent worn one in awhile least not in public. I'm so there. I have a gym right downstairs from my office and I try to go 2-3 times aweek and ride my bike everyday. Ireally need to step it up. I am in a person office so there is not motivation except here Thanks Guys.

I am so in. I was actually just looking at myself in the mirror in disgust of my hanger hips.
I definatley would like to loose at least 25 more lbs by may 31st...my 23rd birthday!!
thats my short term goal for now!! however, i go back in for my next weigh in tomorrow & i'm
not sure i've lost much since 2 weeks ago...today is my 12th day doing tae bo workouts,
I can definatley tell i've gained muscle because my biceps are rock hard, and i can even see
some definition forming in my calves. I want to rock a bikini this summer & I want all you
ladies to be there with me!! Even you ElemTeach =] & Cheli!!! We can do it !!!

Oh I'm no where close to losing a lb a day. I don't think.. Since starting phen on 2/5 I've lost 18.4 lbs. The 42 lbs lost is since I started losing weight in April of 08. As for what I do.. I'm drinking about a gallon of water a day. I don't count calories anymore.. I started off that way and was obsessing about it way too much. Either worrying I wasn't getting enough or worrying I was getting too much. And worrying can make you gain weight so... I do try and be mindful of what I eat though. I don't do alot of carbs but I'm by no means on a no/low carb diet. I do lots of fish and chicken. If I crave something, I eat a small portion of it... I don't ever deny myself what I want eat because then I just go over board when I finally give in. Umm as for exercise I am at the gym 3 to 4 days a week for 1-2 hours each time. I do mostly cardio treadmill with incline mostly. And burn roughly 500 calories each time I do it. I know they say not to do strength training until you are closer to goal but I do about once or twice a week.. just the circuit that works the whole body in 30 minutes or whatever. I take my pills 1/2 at 11am and 1/2 at 4pm for a week and then a whole pill at 2pm for a week and go back and forth that way and it keeps my body from knowing when to expect the phen so I always get the boost. And to keep me motivated.. I take a picture of my scale once a week so I can see the progress. I take 2 Essential Fatty Acids supplement which is 1000 mg of Omega-3 Fatty Acids and 20 units of vitamin E (67% of daily value) 1 in the morning and 1 in the evening as per my doctors suggestion. Along with that I take something called Ultra-Plan with Chromium and Selenium. Both are by Live Well Essentials. That's about it :)

I would love to wear a bikini by the summer but I doubt I will have the courage to do so..these thunder thighs have a long ways to go before I feel comfortable in a bikini lol. My bottom half wont fit in any of those cute bikinis, they are never big enough for my butt and hips..or my boobs for that matter lmao. I would be happy just to look good in any swim suit. I am aiming to fit in some board shorts and a bikini top if I dont like my bottom half by then lol. I have 25 lbs to go to reach my goal..but at this point I am not really focused on weight since I am getting leaner and more muscular now..who knows..maybe its only a few more lbs to go haha.

Thanks Britt for the boost!!! I'm gearing up to go full force next week!!! I'm not taking my phen again until Monday, then I'm starting on Alykat's low carb plan. AND~ I'm going to exercise every day and drink more water!!! I'll be on spring break so I figure it will be a good excuse to get use to low carbs and exercise since I'll have plenty of time. I'm going to give it my best shot. Since they increased my thyroid meds I feel like it will help.
Alykat~~ girl, as HOT as you are looking you better set your goal for a bikini!!! I think girls with your shape look great in the bikini that ties on the side. Not the string, but the one that has the thicker ties. AND your stomach is so nice!!! Show it with pride!!!!:D

Thanks elemteach lol, I am very self concious, I dont see myself the way you guys see me lol. I know the top half looks great its just my hips that I have problems with when it comes to bikinis..when I try to put those ones that tie on the sides on it tends to squish my hips making them look a lot worse than they are lol..Im looking into some full figured bikinis (good luck to me lol..full size to most people means plus size..yeah right 2 different things here!) and hopefully I can see myself in it..for now I am just working my butt off to feel good and look good for germany lol.

Well, I'm all up for trying to be in shape for swimwear. I won't be wearing a bikini. Not only do I have flatbuttitis, I have dunlapitis. My stomach has dunlapped down. I might be trying to sport a great one piece. I haven't worn a swimsuit in public in years and years. The swimsuits are out in stores and it might help motivation to go try some on!

My first weigh-in is tomorrow. I haven't really worked on building muscle. Does anyone know of any good bicep/tricep exercises that they are doing that they know work well? My arms are embarrassing to me that I wear long sleeves alot, which is not good cus it's hot in the south! lol I'm working on doing squats to help build the glutes & hamstrings. I don't know how many I should do though. PLEASE HELP ME! :)

Jillian michaels 30 day shred dvd is great if you want to build some muscle and tone up the arms and legs. She does so many exercises in those 20 minute workouts that my arms and legs have much more strength. I couldnt do a measly push up (girly ones) in january when I started doing her dvd's..it killed me to even try and do a girly pushup by putting pressure on my knees and I thought I was going to fall flat on my face lol..well now I can do several pushups and my arm strength is amazing..not to mention for the first time I can see the defenition in my arm muscles and even my forearm muscles..her dvd's are real cheap. 10$

Yea, I appreciate all the help I can get. I will def. have to check out that dvd :) I am so weak. I want to lose fat & build muscle at the same time but I don't want to be bulky. I figure I won't see much of a difference until I really start to knock off more fat, but I don't want to flabbier when I'm done ya know. I could never picture myself in a bikini even back when I was young and skinny and pretty I never wore one lol....although I did wear a one peice once for a picture lol....I grew up in a strict religious home where I never wore pants or shorts or bathing suits so when I was 18 was the first time I ever put on these type of clothes and I was soooo shy and umbarassed to even show my legs...which were great looking legs at the time lol......BUT wow I just dont think I could pull one off ever.....But I would however love to get more fit and Maybe be able to wear a pair of swimming shorts and look good.....not have to be umbarassed of my legs....or wear a towel around me to hide myself lol.....So yea count me in.....I will continue to walk and hopefully get these legs in shape hahhah.........I cant wait to see you all in your bikinis tho.....you will all look gorgeous!!!!!!! I agree with you about the sides with the circle decoration. I think any type of accessories helps.For example,Ive had 5 kids so I think my hips will be a big problem for awhile.So I will probably try to find a suit with decoration at the top as to draw attention from my hips.But Im goin for it! Well, maybe not the bikini,but I'd definitely settle for a one piece even!Headed for Disney land in June, and Im not going to be wearing jeans,so thats my motivation. Good luck all,we can do it!!

I picked up a bikini top yesterday at kohls..its the only one I could find thus far that fit my D size boobs lol..they usually pop out haha. I havent found any board shorts yet, but figure i will eventually. I also fit in size 14 jeans now, its been about 5-6 years since ive been able to do that!

I have dreamed of being able to wear a Bikini....I have NEVER worn one! Now that I look back, I would have looked great in one in high school- but I thought I was so fat-lol....if I only knew! I don't think I could ever pull it off now. I am covered in stretch marks and my stomach is in no way fit-lol! I said that once I got to 230 I would start adding in the ablounge, so I'm making my hubby bring it in from the garage today. I'm also going to start the lipo vite injections next month and they are suppose to take off major inches- so maybe that will help- but even then with all the stretch marks.....well no one wants to see that-lol!

I want to join too! I am 5' 3" and currently 157lbs. I started phen on 3/12 at 163.5. I wear a bikini every summer, but this year I actually want to look GOOD in one, lol. My goal is going to be 127 by the 4th of July so I can celebrate with fireworks! The 4th of july is 15 weeks away and 2 lbs a week would be 30 lbs lost and that would put me right at 127! MY dr. called me today and told me I have a "pretty good thyroid problem going on" (duh! I've been saying that for months!) and so I start meds tomorrow. I'm hoping the meds arent going ton interfere with my weight loss :( I know they take 6 weeks or so to start working so I dont what to gain or not lose for those 6 week! I'm scared :/ Anyways, thats my goal! I'll post pics when I get there!

Hello everyone ... I am a newbie here.... I started a strict low cal diet and working out 3 weeks ago... 3/16 I started phend.... Which wasn't right for me me at all... So the doc switched me to phen 37.5 and I will start tomorrow.... To date by my scale i havent lost but 1-2 lbs thats really slow I feel like... and very discourging but Im trying to stay positive that I can do this.... We have made plans to go to Florida over 4th of July for our summer vacation..... So I am trying to work hard so I will be bikini ready... I also have issues with my thyroid.... I had a scare last yr that I could have tyroid cancer but found out that it was an wired autoimmune disease that is attacking my thyroid and trying to kill it .... So I am hoping that my slow weight loss can still be acheived with a little help from phen and alot of hard work on my part....I am tired of using my thyroid as an excuse for being over weight and I am ready to look gooid for our beach vacation this summer.... Ok, so I'm barely in the 150's now, but happy I'm there. 159.8 ! Having issues trying to update my ticker but I noted it on my replies. I just finished week 2. Started at 167.2 originally. I had hoped I would have lost more weight, but I have been having some issues so I had taken stool softeners, maybe I should use a laxative. I usually only take half a pill per day so I had skipped the pill for 2 days, but still having problems going to the bathroom. I definitely need more water, veggies, and cardio this week. I introduced a variety of fruit to my body recently so lets see how well this works. A little concerned b/c the sugars, but at least they are natural sugars & healthy for me. I hope everyone is doing good. Please keep me posted on your progress!!! THANKS TO ALL !!!:p

I'd like to count myself in here. 25 lbs by "Bikini Time" is a good goal for me. However, that puts me way into July since I live in Northern Wisconsin and the weather and lakes don't get warm up here until then! :)
I was on Phen for a month, went off for about a month - while maintaining within 3-4 lbs. I just started back up today, and am hoping by the time I"m in Vegas (28 days!) that I will have lost another 10lbs. This is the last of my prescription - and am hoping and praying to get another from the Doc in 1 month or so!

I know this is tough because unfortunately some of us have not been losing as much as we would like each week & some of us have thyroid/medical issues. Let's just do the best that we can do & try to at least lose 2-3 lbs. I believe my metabolism has slowed down b/c I'm not taking in enough calories. I was thinking of adding protein shakes. Any other suggestions? I also need a good stool supplement. Having a lot of issues with that. I'm barely eating cheese, so that is not the issue. Anyway... so the smaller we are the harder it is to lose. Don't you hate that? We can beat this though. Good Luck Girls :p

Ok, I haven't been taking phen for a few days for 2 reasons:
1. Having trouble with BM
2. I am still having trouble trying to eat more
If there is ANYONE who CAN HELP ME please let me know how to up my calories.
I need to be within 1200 CALORIES and 20 FAT Grams.
I am currently getting in about 600-700 calories a day. Please help!:cool:

Hello everyone...I am Angelique, i guess I fell onto the brownie truck a little while back but I am getting back on course...I would love to be in a bikini by the summer....I am 5'7" I started phen at 37.5 mg (half pill a day) on 6 November 2008... I went off for awhile and now I am back on it...I have lost over 30 pounds on my own and with phen...I am hoping to lose 3-4 pounds a week....I will be weighing myself every sunday.....I will post more later... ok...so I changed my weigh in day to wednesdays....So I just wanted to let everyone know that today I got up and walked the kids to school and then walked the long way back...Then when I picked them up from school my daughter and I walked some more, then my girlfriend came home and I walked more....So in all I walked for 140 minutes...which totaled alittle over 6 miles...I am so excited to weigh wednesday...I will keep you all updated in a daily log...thank you all for your continued support... I have a bachelorette party to go to in Lake Tahoe and all the bridesmaids who are going all range from a size 2 to a 9 - I want to feel comfortable and party it up without feeling like the "big girl"......oh yea, it's on! Please help...They have some really cute bikinis at Ross and I would really love to buy one early that will fit when I lose the weight....I guess I need to have it at home hanging on a hanger pushing me...

i did it. i bought a bikini. yes i realize i'm like 177.5, but that is the smallest i've been since high school. also my stretch marks post baby have disappeared some. I'm soooo pumped about the bikini... just want to lose more weight before i wear it out in public. oh yeah, and get a tan!

Ok, so I finally posted a pic, it's not full body, but this will do for now. I have noticed a difference in my size 12 jeans, I needed a belt with those today & it looks like my battle between 159 & 160 may be gone tomorrow... I hope :confused::confused: ha. Well, I have been eating many more calories to boost my metabolism & still don't find the need for phen rite now. I keep missing the gym though b/c It has been storming like crazy this week. Anyways, tomorrow's a new day, wish me luck! Welcome, all new "bikini" members. I have had the goal of being in a bikini for about 5 years straight and 2009 is the year to do it!
So glad to see all of you beautiful ladies working toward something that makes you proud of yourself!
I just started on Phen last week and am down 7 lbs already, 53 more to go!
My goal is Aug (end of summer :)

Hello. I am starting phentermine tomorrow and I am just worried it will fail like every other thing I've tried. The summer is getting closer and I seem to be gaining weight with every weight loss program. I am currently 175lbs which is the biggest I have ever been. I have 50lbs to go and would like to lose it by Christmas at the latest. I'm looking forward to being a part of this challenge and hopefully stay motivated this time.

Ok, well yesterday was my first day and it went great! I had so much energy and seemed to be in such a good mood all day. I have already lost some weight. One thing that might be a big help is, I signed up for the skinny switch secret. It makes meals up for you that anyone in your household will love. It's not just diet foods. There are some great recipes and tips on the website. Thanks for letting me a part of this. I'm really excited to see the results!

oK, it has been a while, but I have been going crazy w/school, finals, & presentations. I hope everyone has made at least some progress since you guys started. Angelique, I would measure your bust size to see how many inches you lose per wk to help determine what size top you will need for bikini. Maybe I can take a pic of myself in a bikini top to show you what I'm looking like at a size 10/12 bathing suit, but it really just depends on your measurements. It's still NOT TOO LATE TO JOIN. Everyone is welcome & it's not based on how skinny you will look, it's based on HOW GOOD YOU WILL FEEL by the summer. I gained 4 of my lbs back but my new mini-goal is just to lose 7 lbs by May 31st. I've been so stressed it's hard to get back in the swing of things. I'm glad I can always count on you guys for inspiration & support. Remember that by setting mini-goals, you can climb mountains. By setting long term goals, you are jumping hurdles & falling off. Start off slow & work your way down the scale. I found that when I eat no later than 7pm I can manage my low fat regimen & keep my weight down. However, I need to get back to the gym, I've been out for almost 2wks. Good Luck Girls! :p

To Ashley, if you are serious about losing weight, which I'm sure you are, then you can do it. You have already made the step to get help. Phen is a good weightloss booster for those of us who need that extra push to get started. I hope everything is working out for you. I started around your weight & have the same long term goal set. Set small goals to get to where you want to be. Try not to push yourself harder than losing 2-3lbs per wk b/c that is a safe amt to lose & can help you keep it off by learning proper diet & exercise routine. So let me know what your progress is if you can. I would like to keep in touch. Ttys!

CONGRATS on your weightloss. That is so awesome! Keep up the good work. I'd love to join this challenge! I posted a thread yesterday, asking if I was fit enough to wear a bikini. Most of you said NOT YET. So, I now know I definitely need to workout and get really motivated to rock that bikini. My first goal will be 125 by June 1. As I'm writing this, I can't believe I'm planning to get into the 120's... I haven't been there in over a decade! Wow!
