I have never had dry eyes in my life and when I started taking Phentermine is when I starting getting dry eyes. At first it was just at night and it wasn't that bothersome. It just seemed to get worse and worse every day. Now they are dry almost all the time and they feel like someone put shards of glass in my eyes! It may not be caused by the medication, could just be the weather changing or allergies (that I've never had before). I don't know, but I have tired all kinds of OTC eye drops. I called me doctors office and the nurse told me I could schedule an appointment, ask my Pharmacy, or talk to my eye doctor (which I don't have). I don't wear contacts or glasses, never have. Help please!

Yes, I have experienced the dry eyes too. I have been taking Phentermine for about a week. I thought that maybe my eyes were dry because a lot of initial weight lost is usually water, however, I am drinking more water than I used to. I don't know....

It's common. Just like the dry mouth. Just keep putting drops in them and hopefully it will get better! Be sure you are getting more than enough water, too!

I also have been having the same problem, of course I'm not sure if it is the pills, age, or other meds I have been taking. Unfortunately I have decided to try contacts at this point in my life. Not a good idea when your eyes are so dry. I have already tried 3 different brands, all with no luck because I believe of the dryness issue. If anyone out there could recommend a contact for dry eyes it would be helpful. I have already tried the re-wetting drops, but who wants to use that every hour or so. Besides you can get used to having to administer the drops and your body will constantly have to have them, usually even more often, I have even read where some have had to get prescription eye drops because of using over the counter drops so often. I was hoping to do contacts and get some readers for up close work instead of going to the progressive lens. Man getting older really stinks!
