 Hello there....
My name is KittyPie. Some of you may remember me from the "old days". Well, I'm back and ready for some company! A little about me......
Okay, well, I'm 33 and a stay at home mom of two kids. A son who is 9 and a daughter who is 4 1/2. I am training to be a Certified Life Coach. I started phentermine in 2006 weighing 217 lbs and wearing a size 22W. By April 2007 I had lost 46 lbs and weighed 174 and was wearing a size 12. But, I was stuck at 174 lbs for ages, and since my goal was 155, I felt like a failure because I was doing all the right things and the scale was not moving, so I gave up. I decided I didn't want to exercise all summer, then I decided I didn't feel like counting calories or caring what I put in my mouth anymore and then because of that careless backsliding I am back up to 220 lbs and wearing a size 18!
So, this is my time to start over. It is time to love myself enough to WANT to take care of myself. It's about caring enough to eat good/healthy foods, about caring enough about myself to exercise my heart and lungs and muscles so I can be healthy for life.
If you would like to join me in this challenge of loving yourself enough to take care of this one body that has been given to us, loving yourself enough to take time out of your busy hectic life to put yourself first on your "to do" list, loving yourself enough to get HEALTHY for your own sake, for your kids' sake, for everyone who loves you sake. Then please join me in this journey.
CHALLENGE REQUIREMENTS: (This will be an 8 week Challenge starting Feb 1)
BE READY TO GET YOURSELF HEALTHY; NOT SKINNY
DRINK AT LEAST 64 OZ OF WATER PER DAY
EXERCISE: CARDIO 3 TIMES A WEEK & STRENGTH 2 TIMES A WEEK OR IF YOU HAVE A ROUTINE THAT COMBINES STRENGTH AND CARDIO IN ONE WORKOUT, THEN DO THIS 4 TIMES A WEEK. (I do Jillian Micheals 30 Day Shred DVD)
Cardio = anything that gets your heart pumping for at least 30 min straight
Strength= lifting dumbbells, doing weight machines at the gym, yoga or pilates
EAT AT LEAST 1500 CALORIES A DAY, BUT NO MORE THAN 2000.
PUT YOURSELF FIRST ON YOUR "TO DO" LIST
TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF, GIVE ME YOUR START WEIGHT, AND YOUR GOAL WEIGHT FOR THE END OF THIS CHALLENGE. (Don't expect to lose more than 2-3 lbs a week, 2-3 lbs is VERY GOOD! = 2lbs x 8 wks = 16 lbs)
LOG YOUR EXERCISE AND FOOD INTAKE EVERY DAY
LET'S DO THIS!! TIME TO GET HEALTHY AND FIT AND STRONG!! :)

Welcome Hat-Lady! I like your hat, by the way. Yes, you deserve to take care of yourself. Taking care of yourself = Self Love = Happiness= Long life = More to give others.
Have you been exercising at all recently? I am just asking, cause if not, you might want to start out with 2 days a week, then 3 days a week, then up to 4 days a week. Sometimes we can get all gung-ho and go all out at first, but then lose steam half way through. (Not to mention, sore as heck) So don't feel bad about yourself if you only get in 2-3 days a week at first.... ANYTHING IS BETTER THAN NOTHING. I currently have been working out 2-3 days a week, but I would really like to work my way up to 4-5 days a week.
So, what big city did you move from? I've always lived in a rural area (Southern IL). It's not "hick town" or anything though.... at least we have a Super Walmart and a movie theater... ha ha ha. But, it's the only Super Walmart around in a 40 mile radius!!! What kind of business are you in? I've been a stay at home mom for the last 4.5 years. After my daughter was born, it was just going to cost too much to have two kids in daycare, so I decided I midaswell stay home. I used to work in an office as a Executive Assistant, but that's not what my passion is. My passion is helping people, and giving them advice and different points of views. I like to encourage people to think outside the box and look inside themselves for their inner strength and confidence. That's why I want to be a Life Coach.
Well, I look forward to getting to know you and chatting with you!! Oh, and I forgot to put on my "list" that we will weigh in on Sunday's, since we are starting on a Sunday.
I hope more people join. I have alot of old "phrends" on here, but they must not be able to log on or something cause I haven't heard from them.
Well, till tomorrow..... Have a Healthy Day!!

January 31st, 2009, 03:40 PM
I will weigh tomorrow and post on my profile.
I don't intend to start working out more than 15 minutes at a time. I am alot older than you, I know my limitations ( too apparent ) The main objective is to develop a habit.
I lived in Boston , and Orlando before moving to Southern Indiana.
Ugh! I must say I have made wonderful friends here. If it wasn't for them I could not have survived. I feel like I have my very own life coach meeting you here! And being on your challange, what a blessing for me!
I have been married 36 years. DB (dearly beloved) still works full time. we live in our lg empty nest. Sharing with 2 inside cats, one outside, and a feisty dog.
Our kids live fairly close. We keep grandkids here often.
Work.. I had a wall paper business, and for a while an antique shop. I am in sales now and travel from time to time.

Okay, well, I weigh 220 today unfortunately. My goal is to weigh 205 by the end of these 8 weeks. I want to be around 175 by the end of May for softball season so I can be strong, and run and not be the fattest girl on the team!! I'm going to have to email my old "phrends" personally to see what is up with them.
BTW... anyone can join at anytime. Just need CW, GW and we weigh in on Sundays!
That's all for now!! Have a healthy day!

Hat Lady: Well, first of all, congratulations on being married for 36 years! My husband and I have been married 6 years, but we've been together for 13 years as of August. Secondly, congratulations on losing 16 lbs in the last TWO weeks!! OMG... that is terrific! I wish I could lose it fast like that, but I never have, even when I first started on phen. I've always lost slow. I think I have a slow metabolism or something!
Oh well. Gotta go for now.. TTYL
hat-lady
February 1st, 2009, 09:12 PM
That was actually 16 lbs in 6 weeks.
I do not lose very fast either.
KittyPie2
February 2nd, 2009, 10:32 AM
Oh, yeah, I see that now. For some reason I am still thinking like it's just after Christmas or something! But, congratulations to you still, for your 16 lbs in 6 weeks, that's 2.5 lbs a week!
So, how are you today? I have to workout today and do my Jillian Micheals 30 Day Shred dvd. It is REALLY hard and I can barely make it through it even though it's only 20 minutes. It's the most intense 20 minutes of my life!! But, I have to tell myself "No pain, no gain" right?
I'm thinking of getting my thyroid checked. I have a lot of the symptoms it lists for Hypothyroidism, and I wonder if it has anything to do with my weight gain and the fact that it's so hard to lose weight. I gained 20 lbs in 6-8 weeks back in Nov-Dec. I started taking this herbal remedy last week that is supposed to help get your metabolism and thryoid and adrenal glands working properly so your body can process food and calories the way it's supposed to instead of storing it all as fat. I hope it works!! It tastes terrible though.
Well, I guess that's all for now. I'll check back in later. Have a good day Hat Lady!

Hi Kittiepie!!! How have you been? Of course I'll join your challenge; good to see you! For those of you who don't know me, my name is Val, and I have two grown daughters; my oldest is getting married this June in a destination wedding in Jamaica, and my time is running out in getting shape, so I need all the help I can get!! I work in Washington DC as a legal secretary, and have been married to my hubby for 31 years in June, so I've got a dual reason to shed some pounds! I also have a 6 1/2 year old grandson who is my pride and joy, and I need to improve my quality of life for him as well.
A year ago, I had lost a lot of weight, clothing were fitting loosely, and at that time, my main mode of exercise was my stationary bike (I have bad knees). But unfortunately, after a period away from phen, the pounds crept back, so it's time to get them off and more! I recently joined Curves, which I enjoy, and I also bought the 30-day Shred DVD, and just adjust some of the moves that Jillian does on the DVD that I cannot do.
Time to get the weight off; have a great water-drinking day!! :)

Good morning. Welcome DoNise and CD!!
Okay here is what I ate yesterday:
B= Life Maple & Brown sugar cereal w/ 1% milk
S= Sugar Free choc. Pudding
L= DQ double cheeseburger, med. Sprite
D= Shake n Bake pork chops (2), instant mashed potatoes, corn
S= Sugar Free Choc. pudding
Not good. I know I probably had over 2000 calories yesterday. But, I did workout, so that offsets it a little, I did 30 min. of cardio and weights combined. I did not drink enough water for sure!! Gotta work on that more.
CD (Val): I have been okay except for the weight gain! I gained 20 lbs in 2-3 months when I stopped taking phen! I think I have a thyroid issue! Plus I stopped exercising and I know that has a ton to do with it. I am trying to get back into a routine, it's just hard to make myself do it. I'm sore today from yesterday's workout, so that's a good sign! Have you kept in touch with any of our other old "phrends"? I keep in touch with LZ frequently but she must not have internet access right now or else she'd be on here.
Well, that's all for now. Here are our stats for the beginning of this challenge
Kitty: 220...............Goal= 205 (15)
Hat Lady: 195......Goal= 183 (12)
DoNise: 236.4.....Goal= 224 (12)
CDCreat: 232......Goal= 218 (14)
WE CAN DO IT LADIES!!! Till next time... Have a healthy day!

Hi Hat-lady -- So you know just what I'm going through, we've been out with her looking at and trying on wedding dresses, and I'm so glad that yesterday, she made her decision on which dress she wants (I must admit, I thought she looked gorgeous in all of them, but maybe that is just a mother talking!) So we've got our airline/hotel reservations, it's to be in Montego Bay at the Sandals resort. And I know as June gets closer and closer, it's gonna be more and more hectic!
I am really working hard at work today ladies, will write again later this afternoon once I've finished my deadlines - TTYL!!

Hello all! Whew, what an afternoon, deadlines everywhere, but they're done now, thank goodness!
Kittiepie, hey gurl! Yes, I have been in touch with both LZ and Scat on another challenge - Scat doesn't frequent as much, just when she can (she's very busy), but is doing great without phen, and is almost right at her goal! LZ is going great too, working out and eating very healthy! Haven't seen many others though, and I miss them; mami4, momto8, resmoo, 7jeans -- I hope they are doing well and will just come to the board to let us know they are okay ...
My menu today:
B: Slimfast shake
S: small banana
L: 1/2 chicken sandwich on potato roll (didn't eat the other half)
S: black seedless grapes
I did have my dinner last night of salmon and sauteed spinach, and I think for dinner tonight, I will finish the spinach and have a small-boxed LeanCuisine when I get back from Curves. My aim is to go there and work out every evening this week which, according to my daughters, is very do-able!
Welcome to the new members; glad to have you here, and I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you! :)

Jessica~ No, it's not too late to join... it's never too late! Even if it's 3 weeks from now, anyone can join at any time. So I got your start weight at 192.8 and I put your goal at 182 (10.8 lbs) When someone says like 10-15, I always put the minimum, cause anything over that is just gravy!! LOL
So, we have 6 people in our group so far. I put a invitation in the New Members area to see if any of them would like to join. Basically I just like doing challenges for the conversation, motivation and support. The very first challenge I ever did back in 2006-2007 kept rolling over and we had the same people for a year and a half, plus new ones of course. It was fun and I made alot of friends. Losing weight is hard, but keeping it off is even harder. This has to be for the rest of your life, this committment to take care of yourself. I could kick myself in the ***** for gaining back 45 freakin' pounds that I had already lost once! Now I have to lose them all over again and they don't seem to want to come off too easily. Why? Why? I know the answer.... LAZINESS!
I got lazy. I stopped exercising. I stopped counting calories. I started eating fast food again, and blizzards, and pizza and anything I felt like eating because I was too fed up with "trying". Well, lesson learned: You can't ever stop trying. You can't ever just stop caring about this stuff. I mean, unless you have a metabolism that lets you eat whatever you want! But I do not!!! It may not be easy, and it may be frustrating, and it may be painful at times when you can barely walk from the workout you did the day before. But... it's worth it. I don't want to be a size 6, I want to be toned and strong and have lots of stamina. I don't want to be out of breathe when I play outside with the kids. I don't want to have to wear big shirts to cover the fat that hangs over my jeans, I don't want to have to wear tummy tucker things or panty hose under my clothes to try to look skinnier! I am tired of it. So very tired of being the "big" one in the family. I am ready to do this....again... however long it takes. This time, I will never stop taking care of myself for the rest of my life! (Well, maybe when I'm 80!)
That's all for now!! Have a good night!

Yesterday was not a great day for me. I spent time with my mom, It is always a stressor. It puts me in a tizz....
any way... I had
6 prunes and a fiber bar ( we all know why)
subway 6" on wheat cold cut ( Had lunch with mother)
banana
5 oz breaded baked chicken, peas, some left over pasta with green pepper
8 oz skim milk
While I was standing at the stove I ate a tablespoon of white gravy. I really don't care so much for it, but it was in me before I realized. Then when I was packing my husbands lunch I munched on a few chips... again mindless. I wasn't hungry.
It is this kind of stuff I gotta get a handle on.
Today is my clean the house day. I will have to go to moms later to take her groceries and meds.
Tomorrow and Friday I will be working. Saturday I have a luncheon. I look forward to visit with these people but I am almost afraid of what I will get into as far as food served. And... I will be the largest person there. Oh, HOW I Hate that.
I am going to make up my mind to have a really good day today.

So, my husband got home at 10pm and starts cooking himself some supper, then I smell it, and I'm starving anyway cause I hadn't had anything since 3pm. So, I blew it at 10pm last night!! Ugh!!
B= Life cereal & 1% milk

L= Lean Cuisine Panini, Sun chips, 2 pc. Totino's cheese pizza (tiny pieces)

Hi ShaynsethsMom, glad to see ya!!!! I missed you, glad to see you on this challenge; by the way, did you hear that JamieE got married?? Yep, lost all that weight, got herself a good man, and she's now in matrimony heaven, so happy for her!!
Hey Kittiepie, like Hat-Lady said, today's a new day; just shake it off and start up fresh! It's not the one or two "bad" meals we have, it's when we do it over and over (and over) again that puts the weight on; just jump right back on the weight-loss train!!
Okay, for dinner last night, I had the lean cuisine, which was a small piece of baked chicken w/mushrooms, and some green beans, so I didn't bother with the spinach I had made the night before. And nope, I did not have any of the mint/peanut mixture again last night, trying to hang in there; I could have had more water today though ...
Menu for today:
B: SB protein bar, small cup of low carb/low sugar yogurt
L: some egg salad, 5 saltine crackers
S: about 15-20 little cheese goldfishs (all about portion!)
Tonight, hubby is taking me out to dinner, so I'm gonna look at the salads, the seafoods, the veggies, things like that, and definitely no bread!! Have a great night everyone, luv you all, TTYL!! :D

Hellow everyone,
Well, I did much better yesterday than Tuesday. Here is what I had:
7:30am- 2 waffles w/ lite syrup, 1/2 c OJ
11:30am- Instant breakfast shake w/ 1% milk
2:00pm- vegetable soup, 1/2 grilled cheese
4:30pm-- hot chocolate w/ 5 marshmellows
7:30pm-- 12" Subway Roasted Chicken breast, pretzels
water = 50 oz
I just happened to weigh myself today, and was 218.6! (-1.4 lbs). :D I know I'm not supposed to weigh in till Sunday, but I just had to peek cause I've been stuck at 220-220.5 forever it seems like. So, I'm pretty excited. Seeing that actually motivates me to workout, so I will today.
I looked up some exercise stuff to see how many calories each activity does, so I thought I'd share it with you. These amounts are for someone who is 5'7" and 220 lbs, so if you weigh more than that, you're gonna burn more than it says. If you weigh less than that, you're gonna burn less, but not by much.
20 minutes cardio burns 200 calories
20 minutes of strength training burns 114 calories
30 mintues cooking burns 132 calories
30 minutes vigerous housework burns 145 calories
1 hour of playing ping pong burns 396 calories!!
1 hour of fishing burns 304 calories!
1 hour playing softball burns 502 calories!
2 hours of shopping (continuous standing/walking around) burns 475 calories!!
2 hours of bowling burns 607 calories!!!
So, those are some examples of what you can burn without "traditional" ho-hum exercise. I myself love to go bowling and fishing and play ping pong, so those are great ways to get exercise! I also play softball in the summer, so whoo hoo!! And it's usually 2 hours a night, so that's 1000 calories burned on those days! :)

Oh... I forgot to say Hi to Angie!! Hi Angie... welcome, nice to see you again!! I got your stats wrote down.
Okay, next I want to talk about REWARDING YOURSELF. It has been proven that you will stick with something better if there is rewards involved. There is nothing wrong with patting yourself on the back and giving yourself a reward for a job well done. Now, I don't want you guys to reward yourself for the pounds you lose, because if you don't lose anything, then you will feel like you failed. I want you to reward yourself for doing things that are hard for you to do, like drinking enough water, or exercising enough, or staying under your calorie range, or something like that. Losing pounds is a reward in itself. I want you to reward yourself for your effort, not for the pounds you lose.
For example, mine is..... for every 10 days of working out I am getting a massage or a chiropractor adjustment. It is hard for me to get the motivation to exercise, so knowing that after 10 workouts I get a treat, makes me want to do it more. For every day I work out, I put a big "E" on that day on my calender in big black magic marker. I have 8 workouts under my belt so far, so two more and I get my reward.
So, I want you all to think about what is the most challenging part of this, and set up a reward system for yourself. The only rule is, that your reward cannot be going out to eat, or any kind of food.
I'll be waiting to hear from you all.... Have a good day!

DoNise: OMG... I had that Instant Breakfast shake yesterday and it made me go big time!! I've also used Super Dieters Tea, and Benefiber. Water alone won't be enough, so you'll have to eat a ton of fiber or get a supplement. Don't take a laxative though!!

Welcome SweetRRT, I got your stats down. You will like being in a challenge and having the support of all these people! How do you like the Biggest Loser Yoga w/ Bob? I've been thinking about buying it. I got the 30Day Shred by Jillian Micheals, and man it's tough!
Okay guys... I just finished 30 min. of Core Rhythems dvd and am sweating like a pig! GO ME!! LOL

30 day shred kicks my butt. i've yet to make it through to the end of the exersize. i LOVE yoga with bob. then again, if bob was standing on my tv just doing nothing, it would motivate me. theres just something about that man's tattoos that drive me nuts :) haha.
Im starting to do 30 day shred probably every other day, just for as long as i can do it. I'm sooo terribly out of shape. and then alternating with yoga.
My son and i (he's 1) go on walks frequently. Saturday we have a trip to the zoo planned, which should be fun :)
we also go to the park alot and walk, or window shop at the outdoor malls.
I'm also committing myself to walk the stairs at work vs riding the elevator.
i'm super excited, and can't wait to start my phen tomorrow morning :)

Hello all! Went out to dinner last night with hubby, and I was good, did have about 4 french fries, but other than that, I was excellent, had a broiled crabcake, about 4 shrimps and a couple forkfuls of the coleslaw, a diet coke, and of course no dessert. Also ate a handful of peanuts before we left out, and that was it, no late-night snacking, just had some water, drank my dieter's tea, then went to bed -- my menu so far today:
B: SlimFast protein shake
S: About 15 goldfish crackers, small bunch of seedless grapes
L: 1/2 egg salad sandwich on whole wheat bread
My afternoon snack will be the single-serving of cottage cheese, and I may have a Lean Cuisine for dinner; I also will be going to Curves tonight. Kittypie, I love the idea of rewarding yourself for a job well done, rather than pounds lost!! So I think I will treat myself to a way-past-due pedicure when I have done 10 visits to Curves, which will be sometime next week; can't wait!!!

So, Here lies the difficulty. I worked night shift last night. I got off at 7am, laid down for a nap and Now i'm up. I have to eat "breakfast" soon... I also just took my first phen (i know its a little late, but its my AM)
my friend who is on phen just lost 6lbs in 1 week. holy cow.
Anyways, I'm definately trying to stick to the diet/exersize.
last night at work, which is totally going to be my hardship.... we had chips/salsa. it was homemade salsa and sooo good. so i ate a few chips/salsa, but then i eliminated my odwalla bar.
so, yea working night shift in a pediatric ICU can be stressful. We eat to stay awake, we eat to cope, and we eat to socialize. We ALWAYS have some sort of something on the 'free' table. i've gained 15 lbs in 3 years working there. Its difficult cause we are so busy sometimes we dont get a chance to eat until 3am, and then the cafeteria ONLY has fried stuff that late.
Its hard, and so i'm really gunna have to PLAN PLAN PLAN.
hmm for today:
just woke up (1025) slimfast.
lunch- (going to a funeral luncheon thing, will make good choices)
dinner- grilled chic/ vegs.
snack-cheese

SweetRRT, you are to be commended for the work you do; it has to be difficult, and it takes a very special person to do what you do ...
Hello all! Wanted to share my menu today (last night, I had a Lean Cuisine meal, and also went to Curves):
B: SB protein bar
S: 12 goldfish crackers
L: 1/2 cup tuna fish salad, 5 saltine crackers
My afternoon snack will be 1 1/2 low fat graham crackers, and for dinner, I'm gonna have some snow crab legs, the perfect way to end a Friday and a very hectic week!! :) I'm going to work out at Curves both tonight and Saturday morning also. The weather is supposed to be fantastic on the East Coast, so I want to take advantage of that, do some walking around the track at the high school near my home. Hope everyone is doing great; have a great evening and weekend everyone; I'll TTYL!! :D

Hello all,
I'm on day 2 of Phen and I am sooo excited to find this challenge! I've been married for 6 years and have 3 boys (5, 3 and 7 mos.) I wasn't sure what to do so after reading a lot of entries I've been drinking a lot of water and have started to get more physical. I work full time, so I walk on my lunch break and at home I've been doing mini workouts--10 mins at a time. I have been eating fruit and hoping the pounds drop. I am 5 8ish and can barely fit in a 14. I refuse to buy more clothes so I had to do something. I just stopped breasteeding last week and I actually am less drained that I was while nursing. I initially had a bit of guilt about stopping but I was so tired with working and 3 kiddies. 7 mos is pretty good! I'm good with my decision now. Any whoo ladies, let's do this. I want this to be a lifestyle change, not just getting a few sizes smaller.

Hi everyone!
I weighed this morning and I am still 195.
No loss, no gain.
yesterday I had a luncheon to attend.
I ate maybe less than half of what was served. I picked at it slowly.
Spinich salad
Tortillini with sauce
and red velvet cake (huge piece) I only ate 3 small bites and mashed it around to look like I ate more.
The thing was the group was small and I was seated near the hostess. I know she thought I did not like her food. I was the only one that did not scarf it ALL down, and they were huge portions. Believe me when I say I WANTED TO EAT EVERY BITE. I thought my muscles were going to twitch trying to resist.
I turned down cocktails altogether. OUCH!
Even though I did not lose this week I feel like I had a victory. I was in control! Not the food or even my hostess, I chose how much I ate, and DRANK.
I went out with friends in the evening. Turned down drinks and had a small salad for dinner.
Now on to a new week...

Welcome Chrijodo and Sydney!! I have your starting weights down.
Sydney: I agree... 7 months of breastfeeding is super good, so you shouldn't feel guilty at all! I was only able to breastfeed my son for 8 weeks and I wasn't able to breastfeed my daughter at all cause her mouth was too small and she couldn't latch on. So..... kudos to you for the 7months!!
HatLady: Thanks for weighing in this morning! I am glad you are not feeling down about not losing pounds, because yes, you did do a fantastic job of being in control of what you ate and drank, and that's GREAT!!
Everyone else, I need you to weigh in today, or tomorrow morning please....thank you!!
As for me..... I am up this morning, but I know it's due to the sodium I had last night. I am going to stick with the 218.6 that I had on Thursday. Speaking of which, if you have a regular weigh in day during the week that you want to use instead of Sunday's you can.
I am taking the kids bowling today and will consider that my exercise for the day. Two hours burns 600 calories! My food for yesterday was:
B= 1 cinn. poptart, 1 c 1% milk
L= few popcorn chicken, diet coke
S= hot chocolate w/ marshmellows
D= 3 homemade taco's
water 30 oz ..........NOT ENOUGH!!
I really need to work on getting my 60 oz of water in per day! I think most of my fatigue I feel is from being dehydrated all the time. I also need to take what I eat more seriously. I don't know why I think I can lose weight and still eat badly! Like this morning, I had a huge terrible breakfast..... 3 eggs over easy, 4-5 pieces of bacon, and biscuits and gravy!!! I probably shouldn't eat for the rest of the day as many calories as that had in it... not to mention fat! I don't know why I just can't have some self control and say "no, you don't need that, eat some cereal". I just love food too much I guess and I need to stop. IDK, sometimes I think this is just too hard and I am going to be fat forever b/c I can't stick to any kind of diet.
Anyway... enough about that. I am going to go bowl now and burn this biscuits and gravy off.... have a good day everyone!

Hello everyone! Thanks for the congrats on my nursing--weird how we can get emotional on some things. It's my last baby and parting is such sweet sorrow.
Well my full week isn't until Thursday but I lost an additional 1 lb today so a total of 4 so far. Go me!
Ang, hats off to u 4 being able to bake for a living and do this. I have the BIGGEST sweet tooth. I made choc chip cookies for my kids, I ate 2. So don't feel too bad about the fudge round.
I am sore from walking and I jogged a bit yesterday morning. I feel good about that. A kid at church asked me if I was having another baby. :( Okay, that's a motivator for me.

Good morning! Okay, my weight is showing as 230 (that's what it was on a weigh-in I do on Wednesday, and it was the same on Sunday) -- My meals weren't the best over the weekend, I know it was bad, but I just ate it anyway; for example, hubby had a taste for spareribs, so we went to Famous Daves and ordered a carry-out - I got the hamburger, which turned out to be huge! One half of it was more than enough for me, but no, I keep on eating, and next thing you know, the whole thing's gone!! And then afterwards, I was miserable because I had stuffed myself ... Today's a new day, and I'm gonna be real good, and plan to really push the water today!!!!!!

Hi everyone....
Sorry I've been MIA for the last couple days. Did everyone have a nice Valentines Day? Well, I forgot to weigh in this morning, but I know it's going to be bad anyway. I didn't exactly watch what I ate yesterday or today. And I know I haven't drank enough water. (Alot of beer!) I did, however, walk around Bass Pro Shop for 3 hours on Saturday, so that's gotta count for something! Right? I got some funny shirts that say "Does this shirt make my Bass look fat?" and "Stop staring at my Bass" LOL, it cracks me up. Hubby and I love to fish.
I went to the chiropractor Wednesday and it helped some, but not completely. I think my neck popped about 20 times on each side, and it was wonderful.
Thanks to those of you who weighed in today... I appreciate it. If you haven't done so, please try to give me your weights by tomorrow morning, so I can put in on the chart.
Sydney: Yes, I experience a drop in energy in the afternoon also, usually around 3pm-4pm. I've even been taking naps around that time, not long ones, but 20-30 minutes does wonders. There are days when I can barely keep my eyes open around 1pm. I was once playing Barbies with my daughter and was falling asleep, sitting up. She had to tap me on the leg!! Now, WTF? That is pretty bad. I am going to mention it to the Dr. because I think something has to be wrong with me for me to be that tired all the time, even while on phen. Also, good job on losing 2 lbs this week!!!!! Yay!
SweetRRT-- OMG... Congratulations on being 185.4!! Good job!
Shaynesethmom: Good job on being honest with yourself. I am the same way. I am sure I will have gained since last week. I really need to get on the ball here and get serious. I don't know why I don't have the same motivation as I did before. I mean, I lost 45 freakin' pounds, and I actually enjoyed exercising. Now, I hate it... I feel like I'm going to be fat forever! I don't think the phen is working for me anymore. When I go to Dr. I am asking for something different or stronger. I am also going to get my thyroid checked.
DoNise: Good job on losing this week! Keep up the good work hon!

Shaynesthmom, let me know what your doc says about the B-12 shot. I got to the doc next week and was wondering about it too. I would love to get a little more energy.
Donnamex don't give up, just take it one day at a time. I at 3 truffles today after I did pilates and had a grapefruit. I just have a sweet tooth and it got the best of me. It happens, just get back up and try again. I did the 8 min Tae bo today.
Welcome cilla37! Kittypie will take your weight and continue it weekly. Sounds like you have your hands very full! I just started Phen Feb. 5 and I'm sooo ready to shed this baby weight. I have 3 boys (7mos, 3 and 5), I work full time. I refuse to buy any new clothes until I lose wgt. That's my motivation!

hi guys , i went to the weightloss clinic yesterday !!!!! and he would not give me my pills .. my blood pressure was up , but not as high as last month , and i wasnt even taking them then .... omg i am so mad i could just scream .... it just does not make any sense to me .... well on a good note i was down to 193 !!!!!! and i got the shot instead ! Girls , they have sulfa in them .not the b12 , the lipo b12 combo .... . the clinic said it was just vitamins ... well i have been looking it up online , and one of the vitimins has sulfa ... i am allergic to sulfa ..... so i have been itching all over , ugggghhhh these past two days have been just horrible ... i could not even sleep lastnight ,,,, my doctor is putting me on blood pressure meds.. and then i can go get my pills , but i have been researching all of that toooooo , my blood pressure was 151/110 the first time i went in a year ago ,,,, yes that is high .... now its 130 / 90 ... it has gone down alot since i have lost the weight , and now he decides not to give them to me ... i could have understood if he said no the first time i went in .. a year ago ... but not now !!!! stupid alabama hick !! sorry ... i amjust so mad !!!!! this guy worked at a jail , before this clinic and the girls up front are trying to get a new doctor in the office ... so i did call the main office , still have not heard back from them yet !!! i will let you guys know what is going on .. soon .... i still have a weeks of pills left , maybe between my family doctor ,and the clinic i can get this mess fixed !!! ok so good night all ... and i will post my menu for the past couple of days in the morning .... Ang... I am so sorry the doctor wouldn't give you the pills. I would imagine that it's because if it's been a year of you having high blood pressures then it's become a pattern and is a chronic condition at which time he feels he has no choice but to put you on blood pressure medications. The good news is that he didn't say you CAN'T have them anymore just that you can't have them until your on the blood pressure medications.
As for me. My weigh in yesterday was 180.1 :) What days are you doing weigh ins so I can remember to drop by and give my weigh in. So sorry for the delayed response :)

Hello everyone,
I have been away and did not have internet access. I can not account for my meals while I was gone. I did not journal. I also did not take my Phen. I was able to walk more, since the weather was nice there.
I was at someone elses home and we ate most of our meals in. I was at the mercy of my friends husband as to what was cooked. (he is really an awesome cook) I tried to eat slowly, and did not eat everything on my plate. It was a good opportunity
to test my resolve to change the way I eat. I kept telling myself " I do not need to eat all this food" and " I will not undo every thing I have already done."
Any way, I am glad to be back in touch with all of you.
I was charged up about all the walking I did, but was disappointed that I only lost one pound.

Hello everyone,
Not the best week for me either. I only lost 1 lb (193) so that was disappointing. I'll have to break a sweat and increase the amt of time I exercise. Can't give up!
As far a high bp, please do as your doctor advises. I had Pre eclampsia after the birth of 2 of my sons. Last year after giving birth I was hospitalized and put on magnesium. I continuted to have spikes of high bp for no apparent reason for 3 mos after childbirth even while on bp meds. I found a great doc and she was able to wean me off the bp meds. However I check it periodically at home to make sure I do not have a setback. Also my husband's friend had a stroke just last week (he's only 37) and wasn't taken his bp meds as prescribed. Just know that bp reading is not to be taken lightly.
Stay encouraged and keep on keepin' on...

Good morning everyone.
I weighed in this morning to my suprise I lost 3 lbs!
I was stuck for so long I thought the scale would never move.
I have lost 20 so far. Now I am on the verge of passing 190 I have not been lower than that in 2 years. Maybe it will make me WANT to get on the treadmill so I can pass that point! If I can lose just 2 pounds this week!
I will post my food journal tomorrow.
Good luck to all and keep pushing onward!

hi guys !! well it's Sunday !!! and to my suprise , i am at 192 ... that is alot better then gaining last week .... i hope everyone else is doing ok ....
Sydney ...i am not taking my blood pressure lightly , i just know that even when i was pregnate and gain 65 pounds with my little girl , and 75 pounds with my little boy , i never had a blood pressure problem .... so
it is weird that now when my kids are 8 and 5 , my blood pressure is up ... like i said my first visist was really high , i was at 231 my highest ever , and she weighed me before she took it , i was so upset at my weight i was crying right there in the office ... so 151/ 110 was still high ... but like i said i have lost weight and it has gone down little by little as i am losing ... my family doctor did not think i needed blood pressure meds ... it is the clinic doctor that has a problem with it .... i had all of my blood work done for everything .by my family doc... ... nothing else is even a little out of wack .... my parents gave me a blood pressure tester... and it was down this afternoon 112/86 i know the bottom number is still a little high , but i do not think i need to take meds if losing weight is bringing it down naturally .... i also had my phen today , and it is still going down .... i know this is long , and if my blood pressure stayed up even as i lose weight , then i would take the meds no questions asked ... but the truth is i do not want to take something that i do not need .... i am 33 and have two beautiful children to live my life for ... i would never do anything to jepordize any of that .... my goal is to get healthy not skinny ... ok , so just thought i would clarify things for all of you .... hope everyone else has a great day !!! xoxoxoxo Ang

Ang, I know how you feel, bp is weird. I gained about the same with my kids and lost about 35lbs since last year w/o Phen. Still have a ways to go but you are so right, losing weight does help lower/stablize blood pressure. My doc that weaned me off the bp meds had me lose some weight on my own first before she gave me phen. I would be upset if she took me off now, so I can empatize with you. Phen has given me a boost that I needed--holidays killed me. Also please don't think that I was judging you, I was only speaking from my experience and it was horrible and I would not want anyone to experience what I went through. It was enough for me to appreciate not having to be on meds. You're right, bp does what it wants to do, I have no family history and have been very athletic all my life. So I can relate to you and your frustration, doesn't make since. But I hope you and I both continue to drop the pounds, we're about the same weight now.

At any rate I am continuing on this challenge.
Kitty started it for 8 weeks. There are only 5 weeks left.

Let me encourage you all to see what you can accomplish in the the remaining 5 weeks of Kitty's challenge.

I have to go in to work early tomorrow.
Monday log
oatmeal/skim milk
green salad 3tb regular dressing ( 250 cal!!)
slimfast shake / yogurt, skim milk, blueberries
3 oz beef
broccolli and rice
One of the books I am reading is " Joining The Thin Club"
It prepares one for maintaining a substantial weight loss.
The stats are depressing on how easily the weight is gained back.
I always say " forwarned is forarmed."
From the book I am addressing the issues I have that have lead to overeating.
I really do not like to "look where I don't want to go" ( there is alot of baggage back there) but if I clean the closet so to speak hopefully I will regain control of my emotional eating---- At least reconize it when it rears its ugly head.
As I said I have to go in to work tomorrow early. I will check back in the evening.
I hope all of you that started the challenge with Kitty will hang in there for the remaining 5 weeks.
I've been married 36 years.... 5 weeks is not a long commitment!

Hello all!! I have been away for a bit, so much was happening at home, and during that time, I didn't log on or post or anything ... My daughter had severe, so so severe, pains in her chest area, and after going to the emergency room, was hospitalized from the 10th through the 14th; they did so many tests on her to find out what was wrong, and everything came back clear. Her heart, lungs, even the sonogram they did on both legs (possible blood clots) came back fine (which was truly a Blessing that all of her organs were healthy), but all the while, she was in the midst of this incredible pain, my Lord ... So I stayed overnight with her at the hospital on Wednesday and Thursday nights, not wanting to leave, with everyone telling me to go home, get a few hours' rest, but how can you do that when your baby is hurting like that, basically being medicated into a drug-induced sleep for practically all day and night, how can a mother leave? Okay, I'm crying, gotta get myself together, I'm sitting here at work ... I took off work to be there with her, and then the following week, went to work, then went over to her house to cook, clean, help care for my grandson, so she could rest, I did this for the whole week, and worked through lunch so I could leave a little bit earlier to be with her. She's an adult, 28 years old, not young, but she is mine, and as her mom, I wanted to do whatever it took to help her get better and stronger. The end result is that they never really found anything in the tests, but her doctor said that she either had a very bad muscle pull in the heart area, or there was a viral infection in her chest area (that repairs itself). I don't know, it would have been good to have a title or name on what was causing that horrendous pain, but I trust that she is now healed; she is doing well now, and that is the most important; God truly does answer all prayers ...
My eating was terrible, since I am the type who eats when under stress, and I didn't take my phen (didn't think about any of that at the time). But I am getting back on track, didn't take my phen today, but my eating was pretty good:
B: 1/2 can of carb-healthy mixed fruit
L: 1/2 cup pasta/grilled shrimp mixture
S: the other half can of the mixed fruit, a few pretzels
I did the 30-day shred last night, and today, my ankle is hurting a bit, so tonight, I will pass on going to Curves and do about 40 minutes on my stationary bike. I would like to welcome the new members, and am looking forward to getting to know you -- Huge thanks to the Hat-Lady for PM'ing me to check up on my absence; you all are truly my phen family, and I luv you all - have a great night, and remember to drink your water! :)

Here it is FAT TUESDAY........... I went out for drinks with friends after work ( had 2 ). It was pretty tame. I did eat 1 chocolate.......... Really just one. chatted and threw beads to people.
I had
cereal / skim milk
apple
soup
soup again with some crackers
banana
1/2 sandwich ( one slice lunch meat/1slice of bread
celery
It was a bad day starting at 6:30am
Family issues, Work, etc. I always thought life would get simpler after we ( husband and I ) got more eatablished. HA. Trust me it hasn't
I found myself more than once with my head in the fridge...... LOOKING....
Looking for something to make me not so pissed off. Yet I knew if I ate that stuff I would more pissed off at myself. I grabbed the celery.
Why do I choose food to console myself? It doesn't help............

water, water, water, and more water ..lol..
SYDNEY .... girl i didi not think you were judging me at all .... i am just trying to get over this hump....my blood pressure has been normal for two days now ... 112/81 is what it is running ... my bottom number seems to go up when i get really upset , but not over 90 ... i am trying really hard to bring it down on my own without the meds.. the owner of the weight loss clinic called me today we talked for an hour ..lol.. he was so upset about the way the doctor handled everything , if he could have just been nicer and tried to explain things better, then i would not have been so upset .. i have no problem stopping the pills until my blood pressure is under control.... or forever if i have 2 ... i know i can still lose the weight , the phen just helped those night time sweet craving's while i am making cakes for others ... i will have to find my inner strength ... and i know i can ... ok so i am waiting on my girl friend to come and exercise with me ... i have already been on my bike for ten miles earlier .... gotta keep on moving ... thanks for the support and understanding ... like CD said ... you guys are my phen family ... love ya all ... xoxoxoxo ANG
oh yea, the shots do have sulfa in them .. so they did hurt my back and the pain was horrible for a couple of days ... but if you are allergic to sulfa like me .. you CAN still do the b12 ... good night everyone ...

Hello all! Well, all I can say is that I'm glad the company that came over my house ate up the rest of the girl scout cookies that were on the kitchen table - I had ordered them almost a month ago from a co-worker, and I had been munching on them, but now they're all gone! So I was fair last night, didn't eat great, but wasn't really bad either:
S: SB protein bar
D: fish sandwich, some mints (I know, bad!)
So starting today, I'm gonna cut back on my carbs big-time, and concentrate on protein-rich foods, along with veggies and lots of water!! So far today:
B: 1/2 cup of tuna fish, 2 saltine crackers
L: plan to have a veggie-rich salad
Dinner will be cucumber slices and either sauteed shrimp or baked chicken -- pushing lots of water will be essential in cutting the carbs - as Hat-Lady says, we have 5 more weeks of this challenge, which is basically the month of March -- that is a time where we must commit to doing our very best, drinking as much water as possible, and getting our bodies ready for the springtime temperatures, which is right around the corner, and don't forget, the coats will be coming off soon!!! So let's do this, encourage one another, and continue to strive to be the very best that we can be!! :)

today..
blueberrry muffin
tangerine
4 oz chicken
mixed veg.
8 oz skim milk
The muffin had a lot of calories in it. but, not a totally horrible day.
I am really trying to think before I eat. Am I really hungry? Am I just angry?
stressed? tired? all the above? Eating things I shouldn't won't help.

Hello everone!
How are we all doing? are we hanging in there? Are we all making changes in our lives for the better, changing because we are doing this for ourselves?
I keep plugging along. I had an emotional eating day today. I am not going to post it. But it contained COOKIES. Once you start those...... bad news! (homemade chocolate chip)
I know where my problem started. I dug up some old issues and wham! I'm off like a prom dress.
I didn't sleep last night. I cleaned house a bit,
I did some crying, and some swearing tried to get it all out (again)
I think I'm better.
Hope you all get a chance to check in.

Hello all!! I am trying to work out things with the new Internet service we just had installed, so as of right now, I won't have Internet service at home this weekend, so I'll check back on Monday -- Hat-Lady, not to worry, it's gonna be all right, and I find comfort in tears ... Shaynsethsmom, I sometimes find myself heading towards depression, but hang in there, things will work out - remember phen family, it's okay to have a bad treat now and then (it's the human nature in all of us), but what will set us apart as winners is the fact that we know how to step right back on the weight-loss train and continue our journeys to a thinner us!!! Will be thinking of you all, and remember, if you feel hungry, get a nice tall glass of water, wait about 10 minutes after drinking it, then get active doing something else - this is one battle that we're gonna win!!!!!!!! :D

Hey! It has been way too long of a week for me. It's as if things could go wrong--they did. TGIF, cause I would not make it another day. Stress at work, don't know if my company is shutting down and I'm in HR so I know somethin's up. Doesn't it seem like when it rains it pours? Like every bill in the world is due at the same time-erg! Husband had the flu and they gave him a shot and wouldn't let him drive. I had to go and pick him up at work. He's better now and the kiddies didn't get it, thank God!
I was getting the kids ready for school yesterday and fixing breakfast. Well I ran outta milk, fixed waffles, got kids dressed for school (uniform) looked in their backpack and NO SCHOOL, it's pouring down raining and OMG the stress of it all. I sat in my car and cried. I just broke down. Oh and my baby sitter for my 8 mo old is moving on Monday.
Anywhoo, I don't stay down to long. Put on my music and got myself in fight mode. Better now! I went to the doc today and have some kind of bug. I have an antibiotic and doc said okay to take with phen. I also got a B-12 shot, not sure if it will help but hope so. Also bought the Chromium Picolate too and just started that yesterday.
As far as exercising, I did pretty good. Did Pilates and fat burning DVD. Any body know of a good belly dancing DVD. Need to have fun while I work out, it makes it easier to continue.
I did eat a Payday candy bar, hope the peanuts weren't tainted. Didn't think about that until after I ate it. :)
Hope everyone hangs in there and continues on this path. It's a tough fight but so worth it. I guess we can't enjoy the sunshine without the rain right.

sorry i've been so absent lately.
my dad got really really sick and has been in the hospital for 2 weeks. since i'm the only child, and help take care of him and my mom (both in their 70s) i have been busy with them and my little one and working.
my dad had a triple bypass and is headed to rehab today. please pray or think about us :)
i havent been doing great w/ all the stress and hospital food, however ive been making okay choices.
still no sodas at all, and drinking all my water. walking up the stairs in the hospital vs. the elevators (4 flights about 4 times a day up and down) and trying to get calories around 1200.
it ****s when life throws you a curve ball.
i haven't weighed in a few days. but last time i did, i had lost 12 lbs. (i think that was about 2 weeks ago.)
i am planning on weighing tonight at work to see how much i've gained!!!!! then today is the start of getting back on track for me.
glad you girls are doing so well!!!

Hi all.
I am LZ and I have been a slacker for the past 6-7 weeks. i was off phen during that time and just went back to Doc Thurs. Hey was mad at me and sent me to a nutrition counseler, but refilled my phen too.:D Heck, part his fault he tried to put me on Phen D and it just did not work for me. The break was good but I gained 11 pounds. Probably 5-6 in the past 2 weeks so I hope that comes off easily. He just does not understand how easy it is for me to gain weight. (whine, whine call the whambulance).
OK, that time is over now--it is recommittment time. So I went back to the first post to see challenge requirements so I can set my goals.
1. Exercise--cardio 3x per week and strength training two. Also I bought a pedometer and was trying to get in 10,000 steps a day. I have not reached it yet--it really does not count accurately. But my goal is to hit 10,000 steps at least one day in the next week so I can see how it feels.
2. Water at least 64 ounces--no sweat:rolleyes: as long as I pay attention.
3.Log food and exercise. I am using myfitnesspal. The nutritionist put me on a 1200 calorie plan so I will stick with it. It is a balanced exchage type plan. Yesterday I made it! Less than 1200 healthy calories.

I wasn't done......
I am LZ 43 y/o Mom of an 18 y/o daughter and 11 y/o son. I work at home on our small farm and taking care of all of my Mom's business. She resides 10 minutes away from my door in a nursing home. This past week I was able to send her tax info to her CPA and take ours to our CPA after 4 days of working on it. That is the day I went back to the Doc. So...I feel very accomplished this week.
My initial weight is 153 goal for April FOOLS day is 145. I will also go back to the Doc that day. That is a lot, but the last 5-7 pounds I gained was in two weeks so i am hoping if I stay on program I can get it off!
I need to read back in the challenge and see how you ladies are doing.

Ang, glad to see you are sticking with it. That is the hard part with me. I have been working on this for 3 years! That 6-7 weeks was the longest slacking off I have had.
Sweet, I can relate to the parent issues. I am not the only child---just the only one that takes care of Mom. I can't complain as I quit my corporate job to keep up with life.
I will pray for you and your Dad.
Hat Lady, sounds like you have your hands full. I hope your trip goes well.
Sydney, great loss! Keep up the great work.
Chrjdo, you are doing awesome. Wow, what a month February was for you.

Have a great day all. I am getting ready to go work in the garden. I hope the wind does not blow me away!

Hi guys!
First of all, I just want to apologize for falling off the wagon AGAIN, and losing touch with everyone and not checking in with the challenge. I've been having lots of issues lately, and not sure what is wrong with me..... I've been on my period for three weeks now, I had a bladder infection last week, I can't sleep, I am severly depressed and got some Wellbuterin, no energy, no motivation and my back hurts constantly!! I got bloodwork done thinking my fatigue might be a thyroid issue, but it's not. All my tests are normal.... even cholesterol which I can't hardly believe since I eat such bad food!
PLUS.....I have asthma, and I don't know if any of you know this, but the government banned all inhalers that contain CFC's because it damages the Ozone layer!!! WTF??? I"ve been taking the same inhaler for 20 years and just had to stop two weeks ago. I am starting to think half of my issue's are withdrawal symptoms. But, anyway, they take our inhalers away because of the Ozone???!!! Don't you think there are way more worries out there besides inhalers? I mean, we're not spraying them into the atomosphere, we are spraying it into our lungs!!!!! So, I had to change inhalers to this new HFC kind and it does not work!! The first time I took it it burned like hell. The second time I took it I thought I was having a heart attack b/c of the chest pain I had. The third time I took it, my back spasmed up and I couldn't move for about 45 seconds. Well, needless to say, I stopped taking that one and am now taking the over the counter Primatene Mist, which works, thankfully. BUT.... guess what? They are soon going to be taking them off the shelves too!!!! This really pisses me off. The government takes away our inhalers that work and keep our lungs open and replace them with inhalers that don't work and are causing asthma sufferers to go to the hospital. I don't understand this. I really want to get a petition going, but I don't know the first thing about doing something like that.
Okay.... so that's my whinefest for the day. Sorry, but I have alot on my mind.
Good news is... this Wellbuterin I am taking is helping me cut down on smoking. (Yes, I smoke even though I have asthma!! It's a bad addiction, not a choice) But, I was smoking about 8 cigs a day, and now I'm down to one, maybe two a day, and the urge is practically gone, I don't even think about it. The only time I want one now is if I smell it and then I'm like "ohhh, a smoke would be good about now".
Bad news is.... I am up to 221.5. I've been off phen since Feb. 16th. I am going to be starting it again this coming week.

Hey Ang---Texas is coming up the first weekend in April. We got season tickets this year and it will be our first time camping out there. I am so excited. I can't wait! Come on I am just getting back in the swing. Let's motivate each other.
Still in the honeymoon period on the phen. I am motivated and calories for yesterday 1020. Kept my carb servings at 4 like I am suppossed to. Plus I got a bunch of exercise yesterday working in the garden and out in the yard for several hours. I did lose my pedometer. I am going to get another one. At least they are cheap now.
So weigh-in 151.4. Down 1.6 in two days----I am sure it is water weight. I also did well on my water yesterday. Slacking today. I will down some more starting now.
Happy Sunday!

Hello everyone! Kitty.... ! I am so glad you are back!
I had an OK trip. Business wise things did not go all that well. The economy is REALLY giving me cause for concern. My sales were down by a full third. ( really bad)
One of the best things that happened was that the first thing my client said was "OH my gosh .......... You have lost so much weight!!"
No one here at home has ever even noticed!
I had a great time socially.. wined and dined..................Partied.............
anyway I do not dare to get on the scales today.
I will wait till tomorrow AM. I will see what this really cost me!
Donise you seem to be clicking right along. Sweet, keep hanging in there.
LZ glad you're here. Everyone keep up the fight! I'll check in tomorrow. HL

Wow, I haven't felt this good on an early Monday morning in a long time. Of course, when I got on the scale and was down to 149 I was excited. Also, I popped a couple of benadryl last night and went to sleep at 9. I  I had a good nights sleep. Managed to chug my water and calorie total was 937.
Ok, watching the news brings me right back down to earth. Kitty, the pastor that was shot in Maryville was fairly close to your area, correct? How sad.
Hat Lady, I need to go back and read your bio. What do you sale---hats? Maybe apparel. It is a serious recession iin this country, but historically it should start to get better soon. :)
I will keep your family in my prayers. Sounds like you are contendiing with a lot of illness.
Ok all, let's start the week off right. I plan to do a lot of work outside today. The weather has been georgeous, but is supposed to cool down and hopefully rain by mid-week. I'm about ready to start a rain dance. It has been so dry here.
Have a great day!

Good morning all! I have been away for a bit, and Kittypie, I have gained (I'm at 235), and frustrated about that - good grief, I've got a wedding for my daughter coming up in June, something that I thought would have given me the greatest motivation, but I'm still eating! Was hoping I could "wean" myself away from phen, but I am seeing that now is not the time to do that. When I try to do this by myself, I don't have the control, I end up eating everything in sight, and I hate the fact that I can't do this without the phen ... Went to my clothes closet over the weekend, and had to start pulling outfits (again) that I cannot fit, I hate this!!! Cute jeans, adorable tops, taking up space because I can't fit them, so I moved them into the spare closet for now. Been depressed and feeling so out of control with this food thing - I had a talk with hubby yesterday, we were just sitting outside, enjoying the weather, and I started sharing about all the things that are on my mind about the house, family, and even I was amazed at how much I had going on inside my head; no wonder I'm eating like a crazed woman!! But then I came to the realization that I can no longer make excuses and blame everything and everyone for the reason why I'm overweight. It's me and me alone, and only I can do something about it; no one is forcing food at me, I'm the one making all these terrible food choices and decisions and eating when I'm not even hungry ...
So today starts a new day in my fight against weight loss - I've been drinking great water so far today, I had sugar-free fruit cocktail for breakfast, and I plan to walk today during lunchtime. I will go to Curves this evening (didn't go at all last week), and I'm gonna be putting those cute clothes back in my wardrobe real soon!! Whew, had to get all that out, so glad you all are here; we're gonna do this together!!!

Kitty, onward I know you have it in you. rediscover your focus.
Shaynsethsmom, Hang in there!
I weighed this morning.... Lost 1 1/2
WoW! I know I really tried to eat light while I was gone and drank water. But I did eat some things that were fried, and I know one dish I was served had gobs of sour cream , cheese, etc. Ate a small portion, but consumed alcohol to excess..........
I am pleased, but know that my weekend will slow this weeks loss.

Glad to see you're back Kitty, hang in there! You too CDcreations
Hatlady and Cheli congrats!!! Whoo-hoo!!!
Shaynsethsmom, I can so relate to your setback. I'm doing pilates today and I'm looking forward to it.
DoNeSi2009, You've motivated me with your workout! Keep it up!
Well I did not exercise one time last week. Just a super busy week with my sons baseball practices/games, I did housework and of course my day job. Well I did start eating more snacks during the day, but I lost it on Friday. I ordered thin mint (Girl Scout cookies), those are just extra good. I would've been okay if I didn't eat any. I had about 8 of them--not good. So I thought okay, I've been doing housework and going up and down the stairs etc. I got on the scale last night and "no change", I didn't gain or lose. I just don't feel excited about that, but I am glad I didn't gain. So I'm at 189 again!

Good morning.
I had a great day yesterday. I worked outside for hours and burned at least 700 calories maybe more. Intake calories were around 1350, a little high but they were healthy and considering how much I burned not bad at all. I plan on working outside more today.
I am currently in the process of making the Super Dieter's Soup I found on the main boards the other day. It really sounds good.
Hat Lady - great loss.
Val, Don't you feel better just being back on track? I gained 11 pounds in 6 weeks without the phen. Ii think I caught myself just in time, I was just about to blow it off then I got up my courage and went to face an unhappy Doc. He really doesn't understand how easy it is to gain. I wonder what his story is. He is built like my husband tall & thin. i know he is diabetic and he used to run 5 miles a day in his younger years.
How did everyone do yesterday?
Have a skinny day. TTYL

cheli .... WOW you are doing great!
Donise... how is is going? you pics are wonderful!
Kitty..we have 3 weeks left on your challenge you can finish this.
I have lost 7 pounds on the challenge. My goal was 12 lbs. I really hope I can lose the 5 lbs it will take to get me there. I had hoped to be walking 3 miles on my tread mill but am only up to 2. ( I am in horrible shape and I am the oldest in this group) I just might be able to meet that goal as well.

Hello all! Yeah LZ, I must admit, I do feel really good about getting back on track, I really do, because I know what will be around the corner; I need to lose this weight, and I can't do that while continuing to stuff myself with foods that are not smart choices, but gurl, all I can say about this water drowning and smalll portions is that it is a challenge!! And sounds like you're doing great; way to go!! :) Hi Sydney, boy do I know about those girl scout cookies, samoas are my favorites, and I think each and every cookie contains a pounds' worth of carbs and weight gain, whew! Hi Shaynsethsmom, yep, you've got to be able to get up all those steps at the races, and this is the perfect time to get yourself in breathing shape to be able to handle it - I hear that the pilates is really good for that too; gurl, you'll do just fine!! Hat Lady, I'm so sorry to hear about how this economic situation has hit your business ... I do congratulate you on your weight loss, excellent!
I am still sticking with my great plan -- hard to do, difficult, challenging, all of that, but I know that it will so be worth it all - went to Curves last night, and when doing the machines, I increased my reps, and by the time I was done, I was sweating big time! So tonight I will either go back there, or do my stationary bike - I saw a coworker yesterday, and the 2-piece suit she was wearing was literally hanging off of her! So I asked her what she was doing, and she told me that she has been eating only 1/2 of her meals (like 1/2 of her lunch sandwich and dinner meals), and saving the other half to eat the next day. She said that when she goes out to dinner with hubby, she only eats 1/2 of her meal, and packs the other half for the next day - she said that she is surprisingly full and satisfied, but not stuffed. Also, she is working out 4 days a week of walking 1 1/2 to 2 miles. Back to the basics, cutting her food intake and working out ... I told her that I plan to try that, and she said that within 2 weeks, I should really see and feel a difference. So here is my menu from yesterday:
B: 1/2 can sugar free fruit cocktail, 1 eating right bar
L: 1/2 egg salad sandwich, about 12 cheese fish crackers
S: 1 fat free pudding cup
D: small piece of baked chicken, 3 spoonfuls of mashed potatoes, brocolli
S: 1 Special K cereal bar
I'm gonna try this for 2 weeks, see what happens - during the week, I'm okay, but for the weekend, I'm definitely taking the phen; working towards a weight loss number on Sunday - Gotta run, have a great day!!

Good morning phen family! I had a change in my plans yesterday; I was going to do my stationary bike, eat light, then go to bed early, but my goodness, my daughter came over with grandson, and said that since the thyroid biopsy, she was doing good in her healing, but then Monday, she started having discomfort and pain when she swallowed. When she talked to the primary care doctor yesterday, she was told to go to the emergency room to get a CT scan done, that there was a chance that a blood clot may have formed, my Lord ... So we were there last night, and thank God, the tests came back fine!! This morning, the doctor called in a prescription for antibiotics for her, and she may have to get the camera scope procedure to see what's going on if she doesn't improve. So mealwise, before going with her, I ate a quick 1/2 sandwich of chicken breast, and then later, I ate the Special K breakfast bar I took with me. Her fiance came over later with bottles of water, and oh no, doughnuts! I was so hungry that I took a small piece of a danish, but that was it (I usually would have eaten the whole thing, probably 2 or 3 of them, I know I would have, but I didn't!!) We didn't get back until after midnight, so I had about 2 pretzels and then went to bed.
Big thanks to Hat Lady for her PM; I don't know what I would do without my phen family - we so need each other to go through this journey. I am slowly learning to stop and think before eating something, whereas before, I would just eat and eat and eat, never stopping to think about the consequences ...
Let's call today drown-ourselves-with-water Wednesday, and drink lots of that precious fat-burning liquid today -- luv you all; TTYL!!

Ang, great job! You'll be in those 180's before you know it.
Chrijodo, wow 22 to 14 is a lot of sizes!WTG
Hi CD & hat lady.
Kitty, our fearless leader, where are you!
Oh, and I got up this morning and did one of my FIRM workouts first thing. Ideally, this is when I need to workout before the day gets ahold of me.
Have a great day all!!!

Hi everyone,
I am still here, just been busy. My hubby hit a deer Sunday and insurance thinks it's totalled. It's an old truck, so whatever they give us will not be enough to buy another truck with. So, needless to say, all of my online time has been searching for trucks!!
I am still not back on the wagon yet. Can't find it in me to eat a single vegetable or do a stitch of real exercise. I know I sound lazy, because that's what I am. Like I told Shansethmom, maybe I don't want to lose weight bad enough to do the work????? Depression is a horrible monster that takes away all your drive. I am mostly depressed because at this time last year I was 174 lbs and wearing size 12's. I am now 221 and wearing 18W's again!!!!!!!! It really freakin' s$#@()s!!!!! Plus I am sooooo ready for winter to be over! Monday it was 77 degrees...... today it's 24 degrees!
BUT.... I got my phen refilled yesterday and am going to take one tomorrow. I've been thinking of trying some other OTC stuff like Hydroxy Cut or Slim Quick. Have any of you tried those things???
PERSONALS:
LZ: Yes, that pastor that got shot in Maryville is about an hour away from me. Isn't that just awful?? Hey, can I get the recipe for that Super Dieters Soup?? I love soup, maybe it will help me some! Good job on your 149!!
CD: I totally know what you mean about wanting to eat all the time, even when you're not hungry. I have the same problem. I love food. I love things that taste good. I just wish vegetables and good stuff tasted as good as chocolate chip cookies! I think 1/2 my problem is that I don't know how to cook good food, and that there aren't very many vegetable and fruits that I actually like to eat.
SYDNEY: Oh my goodness... Thin Mints are my favorite too! BUT.... to my surprise, a little girl and her grandmother (that I know personally) came to my door last week saying they only had two boxes left to sell, and would I please buy one or even both of them. AND I SAID "NOPE, I CAN'T HAVE COOKIES IN THE HOUSE!" LOL!! She looked at me like I was crazy!
HAT-LADY: Oh how I wish I had a tredmill or stationary bike!!!! At least those are no-brainers and you can just hop on and start. Doing a DVD requires you to actually get up the motivation to pop it in the DVD player, follow along, and try to keep up! I may look into buying a tredmill one of these days.
CHELI: Congratulations on fitting into 14's!!! That is such a wonderful feeling!! GOOD JOB!!!! Oh, and did you post your weight for this past Sunday? I will look again before I post the chart.
DONISE: Hey girl.... did you weigh in? The last weight I have for you is 235.8
HELLO TO EVERYONE ELSE TOO!!
Well, I need to get off here and help son with homework. Talk to you all later.....

I will look and see what my weight for Sunday was. I did my weekly weigh in for myself today and was at 174.6! But my weigh in Sunday was 175.6 if I didn't post it before :)
Maybe you'll find when you start taking the phen that it gives you the energy/motivation to get going again.. and maybe that will be enough to get you back on track. Depression is AWFUL. I have struggled with it all my life.

Hey guys...... I have been caught up in my husbands whirlwind problems.
MIL still very ill. postponed surgery till this week. BIL& SIL arrived 18 hours a head of schedule. MIL went in for surgery this am. they punchured her lung and had to stop surgery. post pone till lung heals. she is still not awake since this am ( its nearly 10 pm now) and is on a respirator. I actually forgot to take my phen today. But I did not forget to eat.................. did not drink near enough water. I do not know when in laws will leave or if they will wait around for her next attempt.
The poor woman is 83 probably weighs 83, no kidney function, bad heart, and now this.
I hope you are all doing ok. I have not gone back to read your posts, but I will when I have time. HL

HL, sorry to hear of all the complications. What a stressful time.
Kitty, one of my classmates from high school that I connected with on FB actually goes to that church. Such a sad story.
The diet is under Anyone Want To Do This under Experiece with phen. I bumped it up for anyone who wants to look at it. I see Cheli has posted there. there is actually two diff soups posted. I am doing the first one. May try the other on next week.
I ate more than I should have at the mexican restaurant but not nearly as much as I could have and I skipped the ice cream. We'll see the damage, but hopefully the soup will help.

I was just over at the "My Experience w/ Phentermine" forum. Have you guys ever had the HCG injections? This lady over there is losing 7 lbs in 7 days!! I am curious about this, and if it works, I really want to try it.
Well, I took a phen this morning. I am wide awake at least. Usually I'd be falling back to sleep by now (9:30am) I got about 6 hours of sleep last night, but not peaceful sleep. I wake up about 10-12 times a night. At first I thought it was the phen, so I stopped taking it for 3 weeks, but even off the phen, I don't sleep. I'm pretty sure it's b/c of my back. It hurts soooo bad in the morning. I used to be a stomach sleeper, but I can't do that anymore cause it feels like my back is breaking in two pieces. Now I sleep on my side w/ a pillow between my legs, and that doesn't help much either. I took a Vicoden the other night, and that's the first time I've slept good in months. It was my last one though!!! So, then I tried taking an 800 mg IBrofen to see if that would help me sleep, but it didn't do much except make me extremely groggy the next day. Needless to say.... it looks like I am going to have to find someone to help me figure out this back pain. I am calling the gynocologist, and I will talk to my Fam. Dr. about it again on Thursday. If they can't help me, I am going to go to the Spine and Joint Center and see if they can help me. I can't live like this anymore!!!!!
Well, that's all for now. I've been reading posts about that HCG stuff for like an hour and have not gotten one thing done yet today!!!!!
Talk to you later....

My goodness Kittiepie, so sorry to hear about your back pain and discomfort in sleeping; I'm going through that menopause thing, and I get hot and cold, over and over, and my sleep has been terrible; my PCP prescribed Lunesta for me, and that does help me have an uninterrupted sleep - only thing is that I must have 7-8 hours for sleeping, and I take it before I lay down. But I do know what it's like to have a lack of sleep for days, and then to have that back pain on top of that - my goodness, I'll keep you in my prayers; feel better ... Hat-Lady, you have truly been going through; my MIL is 86, and is my whole world. She also has been in and out of hospitals, and as of right now, she's home and doing okay. Between having had a stroke, one kidney, terrible asthma, the list goes on and on ... You are truly going through, know that I will pray for you and your family; hang in there and try to be strong, know that your phen family will be thinking of you.
LZ, woooohoooo on your excellent weight loss -- 4 pounds is awesome!! You'll do fine at dinner tonight, that kind of weight loss will keep you strong, know that you're on your way; proud of you!!! Hi phen family, I went out to dinner with hubby last night, a really nice seafood restaurant, and I did okay with my "eating half" diet, so while I enjoyed my meal, had to try the rolls though, but that was my only one bad thing. I took a lot of my meal home, soooo good! So today I am drinking water out of one of those big 1 liter bottles, finished one and am on my way to fill it up again - weather's kinda cold today, so I'll just really push the water, and will definitely be going to Curves tonight - have a great day today, TTYL!! :)

One quick thing to add -- Kittiepie, I also was reading up on the HCG injections, and plan to ask my PCP about them when I go see her, ask her about the effects, and if it would be good for me to try out. And yesterday, I also spent a lot of time going through different sites reading up on it - I need to make an appointment to see her (probably won't end up seeing her until 2 weeks or so), so I'll see what happens. Also plan to ask her for a prescription of the 37.5 phen tablets so that I can cut them in half (rather than taking the capsules) - let's remember to drink our water ladies!!

Good morning.
Kitty, I don't sleep well on or off phen. Two benadryl do the trick for me. I try not to take them every night because I am afraid they will not be effective. I usually do not take naps, but yetserday I was so tired. I had been getting up at 5-5:30 w/hubby all week and hadn't planned on getting up yesterday but he was noisy so I did. Anyway, I took an hour nap and felt great. Of course, then I didn't sleep well last night, but I didn't get up until 6:45 this morning. I may take a nap this afternoon if I need one. Son gets out early and is bringing his hyper friend home to spend the night so I'll have to be extra tired. It is cold and rainy for the third day and the boys are old enough so I don't have to stay on guard every minute.
Did you find the extrem diet soup thread. I'll e-mail it to you too as I copied and pasted it into word.
CD, I went to dinner last night. I didn't do good but I could have done worse. Back on track today although I am going to skip the scale check until tomorrow. I take the 37.5 tablets and I like to be able to break them in 1/2.
Time to get the house straightened. Have a great day all.

Good morning all. My phen honeymoon is over. I am having a hard time sticking to the 1200 plan the nutritionist gave me. I have had a bad sweet cravings. TOM started today so I am telling myself that is the problem. Also telling self that the cravings end as soon as it starts.LOL
So this week I am taking one day at a time. Son is on Spring break and hubby is home sick so there are my challenges for today. So goals for today include:
*Cardio of some kind for at least 30 minutes
*Stick to 1200 calorie diet and do best to stay to exchages (8 lean protein,4 grain,3 veggie,2 fruit, one milk)
*at least 64 oz of water
The nutritionist wanted me to eat 6 small meals a day. I can do that, but in order to limit my calories that far I will not start eating until after noon.
Hat Lady, with all the sress you have been under you have done very well. I am proud you are taking charge in spite of the circumstances.
CD,WTG on the two pounds.
Oh, I finished my weeks worth of soup and I really think it helps so I am going to give myself a few days break and make another pot. I am kind of tired of it for the moment, but really like it and it is a great way to get in some veggies. I am going back to find the thread because there was another soup posted that maybe I'll try.
Have a great day all!

Hello everyone! WELCOME WhyMe! Glad to have you! I need your starting weight and goal. We will probably start a new challenge in April that you can continue with too.
OK.....I have been reading and reading and reading about this HCG diet, and not only am I convinced that it works, I am convinced that what they are saying about the government purposely making and keeping us fat for the money, is true too!
Anyone who wants to read up on it can go to HCGfatloss dot com. I have spent at least 3-4 hours on there in the last two days reading everything I can. The most interesting article was "The FDA is lying to you". This fu**ing government is CORRUPT. Did you know a scientist came up with a cure for diabetes, and was paid 30 MILLION DOLLARS not to market it and keep his mouth shut!!!!!!!!!!! It's probably the same with cancer too. And with Obesety too... well, this guy Kevin T. is the "whistleblower" and is shining a light on what the FDA and Doctors, and Pharm. companies are doing to keep Americans sick to profit on healthcare.
I know, it sounds impossible. Like "there's no way they would do that", but they are... for MILLIONS OF DOLLARS! And it makes sense too. Why is America the fattest country? Why can't we lose weight for good and keep it off for good?..... Because, then the weight-loss industry would lose BILLIONS! They are putting chemicals in our food that make us addicted to it!!
So, I know there are going to be different opinions about this, but if you are tired of trying to lose weight year after year after year, and you are starting to feel physically worse and worse over time.... I think you should read this website. I don't agree with every little thing it says like (Electromagnetic waves make you eat more...throw away your microwave)... now, I don't know about that, but MOST of it does make sense. The testimonials, the proof, the 30 years of research show that HCG makes you lose weight and is perfectly safe with absolutely ZERO side effects. Fat is released from problem areas, cravings go away, most other physical ailments go away....it is very interesting.
I am going to start this diet in April, and if any of you guys want to join me, you can. I am going to list what it says to do in Phase 1 (30 days) and even if you don't go into Phase 2 (HCG injections), phase 1 will still help you lose weight and make you physically healthier.
KittyPie2
March 17th, 2009, 11:01 AM
PHASE 1 = 30 DAYS. Do as many of these things as you possibly can for best results.....
Drink 1/2 to 1 gal. of purified (not tap) water per day
Walk 1 hour per day at a steady pace
Use Extra Virgin Raw Coconut Oil to cook with
Eat 2 Organic apples a day
Eat 2 Organic grapefruits per day
Do a Colon Cleanse during this month
Take a Whole Foods Supplement (Garden of Life Multi was recommended)
Drink at least 1 cup of Green Tea per day (WuLong was recommended)
Take Probiotics as directed on box (Probiotics Plus was recommended)
Eat a big organic breakfast every day. 100% organic eggs, 100% organic meats, cheeses, breads, etc. "Organic" means not chemically altered in anyway.
Eat your last meal before 6pm
Eat 6 times per day (ex. breakfast, fruit, lunch, fruit, dinner, fruit)
Take Acetyl L-Carnitine supplement
Eliminate Cadnida overgrowth in system (see website for more info.)**
Eat 100 grams of protein 100% -80% Organic before bed
Eat organic hot peppers and Cinnamon
Use Stevia as a sweetener or Organic Raw Sugar Cane
Take Krill Oil (Omega-3's) and All Natural Vitamin E
Get regular massages (at least once a week)
Do Yoga as much as possible
Lift weights 2 times a week
MAJOR NO NO'S: (Read the lables)
NO TRANS FATS
NO HIGH FRUCTOS CORN SYRUP
NO ARTIFICIAL SWEETENERS (including Splenda)
NO MONSODIUM GLUTAMATE (MSG)
NO NITRATES
NO SODA OR CARBONATED BEVERAGES
NO FAST FOOD WHATSOEVER!!
I know this list is long, but most of them are fairly simple. Main thing to remember, is that most foods we buy in the store are chemically altered, so read the lables. If you can't pronounce it, you shouldn't eat it. It's not the food that we're eating that's making us fat... it's the chemicals they are putting in the food. If we go Organic or at least partially organic, they can't keep us fat anymore. It says look for "Organic" on the lable, and that "All Natural" and "Whole Grain" means NOTHING.
Okay.... well, that's the list. Like I've said before, I want to get healthy more than anything, and if these chemicals in our foods is what is making me gain weight, making me depressed, making me crave more, etc., etc., ... then I am not going to eat their food anymore. HELL, I might grow my own dang garden!!! LOL!!
To each her own.... I just wanted to pass the information along. :)
PHASE 2 is the phase where you start the HCG injections. Phase 1 is sort of a detoxing period before you start the HCG, so you can get the best results possible. The HCGfatloss dot com sells the 45 day kits for $44 with no shipping.
People on PHASE 2 lose approximately 1-2 pounds PER DAY!!!!! Without being hungry and without side effects!!!!

Thanks for the information Kittiepie, definitely some things we should all take heed to, especially what to look for in foods, those fancy words that manufacturers use to disguise the word "sugar" -- I agree that these companies are benefitting from our being overweight, diseases, etc. just to keep their pockets fat with our hard-earned money ...
Good morning phen family! I am doing pretty good, fighting the urge to eat late-night snacks, like last night, which was particularly hard, but I stayed strong and didn't munch. I had the 1/2 tuna fish sandwich for lunch yesterday, then ate the other half for dinner, and I went to Curves and also did some stationary bike work too, so I'm pleased with my workouts yesterday; could have drank more water though, so today, I'm starting early getting the water in this morning. Hope everyone is doing okay, let's really try to get the water in today!!

Hey Gals!
Kitty, wow that is a lot of information. I just don't think I could do that first 30 days--even taking phen. A lot of food for thought. Ba Ha Ha!
CD, good job on staying away from that late night snacking. As you know that is one of my huge problems.
DoNiSe, tou are making great progress. Keep it up!
Hat Lady, my prayers are with you. Hope to hear how you and family are doing soon.
Yesterday was a great day for me. I burned some calories! I went and got a load of mulch(25 bags) and other stuff including about 10 bricks first thing and came home and unloadsed them, Then I went and loaded 22 bales of hay that I had to carry about 20 feet before I could get them in my truck and than I planted 18 tomato plants. Oh and I cleaned and stained kitchen cabinets for about two hours. Needless to say I was good tired last night and didn't even need benadryl to sleep. I woke up this morning at 6:20 and made myself so back to sleep until 9. Calories were 1128.
Today I am going to plant 18 squash plants, maybe dump a few bags of mulch in flower beds and than come in and clean house. My reward will be to work on my kitchen cabinets some more. lol
Have a great day all.

Hello phen family, I'm doing pretty good today; went to Curves last night, and got in a great workout! So today, I'm really pushing the water, and plan to do the bike this evening, get in some good cardio. My eating has been very good, cutting back on my portions, so hopefully my weight loss will be pretty good when I weigh in on Sunday. I'm getting low on my phen, so when I go see my PCP on Thursday of next week, I plan to ask her for a refill. Wanted to try to do this entirely on my own, but for right now, with the Jamacian trip creeping up in June, I need the phen.

Good morning phen family! Went out to dinner with hubby last night, and I ordered my favorite, which is a good, nourishing meal - baked tilapia (with shrimp on top), mashed potatoes (delicious, but they don't give you much, so that's good calorie-wise), and brocolli. I ate half the meal, and have bought the other half in for lunch today. I've been taking my phen around 12:30, and that seems to work good for me in helping to keep the late-night munching at bay. Tonight I plan to go to Curves, and then get some walking in over the weekend --

Hello everyone,
SweetRRT: Glad to hear from you and glad your dad is doing better.
LZ: Whoa girl.. the pounds are flying off of you! Do you think it's the soup? Hubby got paid yesterday, so I'm buying the ingredients today to make it over the weekend. OMG... I can't believe your daughter is 19 now. I can remember when we first started, and she was 17 and had just moved out of your house! Time flies by, doesn't it?? And here we are..... STILL. LOL!! But, at least you have kept most of your weight off, instead of gaining it back like me! What do you mean you couldn't do the first 30 days of that HCG diet??? You could do it easily....the first 30 days is not restricted calorie wise, it just trying not to eat processed foods, and eat more organic, home grown foods. You can eat 6 times a day. Phase 2 is the injections and the VLCD (very low calorie diet) in which you have to eat 500 calories a day..... But the girl I've been keeping tabs on says she is completely satisfied on that. I guess the more fat stores you have, the less hungry you will feel, cause that's how your body is getting it's fuel, is from your stored up fat. And I have plenty of that!!! I told hubby about it and I thought he would freak out when I told him about the injections, but he didn't. He wants to do it too!! We'll see I guess. We both really need to learn how to eat better first, especially me. He likes fruits and veggies already, but I don't.
CDCreations: Your dinner sounds yummy!! Do you have any trouble sleeping when you take your phen that late?? I found out that I only start having sleep trouble after 4-5 days straight on phen. If I do two days on and 1 day off, I can still sleep. Otherwise, I am awake at 2am staring at the walls, with my mind racing.
HatLady: Good job staying on track in the midst of stress. That's the hardest!
Well, as for me.... I went to Dr. yesterday for my follow up visit. Told him the anti-depressant (Wellbutrin) I am on is helping me not smoke, but is not helping my mood any, so now I have to take that, AND Zoloft at the same time. I feel like I freakin' mental patient having to take all these meds!! He told me "try to get some exercise", so maybe now that it's "Dr's orders" I will actually DO SOMETHING!! I have about 8 weeks until Co-Ed softball starts to get my butt in good enough shape to be able to run around the bases! I am going to start walking around our neighborhood in the evenings I think.
Well, that's all for now. Have a good weekend everyone! TTYL.....

Good morning.
Kitty I gained those pounds in two weeks. I have had a difficult time since weigh-in. Two bad days in a row. I will be good today. No one makes me put that food in my mouth as I read someone else say somewhere. I like that saying and need to remember it.
On the HCG--its too many restrictions. No Diet Coke!!!!!
Glad to hear the wellbutrin is helping the smoking; hopefully the zoloft will do the rest of the job.
Thanks CD for the kudos. I will get on the scale in the morning for a weight check. I am not gettingg on this morning.
Ok, time to get something done.
Have a great day!

I weighed this AM, 188
So far on the challenge I've lost 8 lbs. I am still shooting for 4 more by the end!!
I got out early and rode my bike down to my mom's. (she yelled at me yesterday on the phone, and then hung up on me while I was talking ) Monday is my day to put out her trash. She can be very trying!!
Then I rode to the post office, then the grocery store. I bought some strawberries to make a protein shake with when I got back.
I do not have to work much this week. Doing paper work at home. Business is so slow!

Hi everyone! Had a busy weekend filled with food, good grief!! My daughter and future SIL came down from the Virginia Beach area, and since I don't have them both down at the same time (he works on Saturdays), it quickly became a weekend filled with fun and lots of food, from huge homemade breakfasts all the way down to big dinners filled with carbs and calories -- and then to make matters worse food-wise, Sunday was future SIL's birthday, so of course the huge cake was there (my all-time weakness), ice cream, you name it, it was somewhere on the table! So then I come into work yesterday morning, and find out that my hard drive on my computer had crashed, and all my information was lost on it - that along with other headaches and major craziness, it's a wonder I'm still sane ... So last night, I didn't go to Curves, my mental state was so stretched that I had to give myself a night to totally unwind, I was so drained -- but today, I'm back, I'm ready, I'm eating low-carb, and we're gonna lose this weight, so let's drink that water, and lose these pounds!!! :D Luv you all, TTYL!!

Hey phen family! I plan to start a new diet called the Fat Smash Diet, by Dr. Ian Smith -- this is the same diet that the celebrities used on that TV show the Celebrity Fit Club, and then there was an amazing story on the Essence magazine website of a lady who lost over 100 pounds, and after reading her story, seeing her before and after pictures, and then when I went to the fatsmash .com website, I was reading all the testimonials on there, how it was such an easy diet to do, the amazing results, well, I'm sold!! And it starts out with a good detox cleansing of fruits/veggies for the first 9 days, so a good vitamin is necessary. I will continue what I'm doing through the end of this week and will start this diet on Monday (I want to read it cover to cover first) - my daughter and I went to the bookstore last night, and they didn't have many on the shelf. And while we were skimming through the book, the man came and took the last issue off the shelf to save for the person who had called! The book is available at Borders, Amazon .com, places like that. But if you get a chance, take a look at the essence website and tell me what you think; TTYL! :)

I don't usually weigh through the week but I did this morning.... down 1/2 a pound !
It helped me to stay on track today knowing that I really am making progress.
I had a protein shake / strawberries and added fiber
a lean frozen meal for lunch, and an apple
baked chicken breast, 1/2 baked potato/ 2 tbs no fat sour cream
green salad FREE dressing (yuck)
and a vodka and lemonade.(sugar free) ( trust me I needed it)
1 1/2 liters of water. I usually get 2 in but some how I just didn't.
The most fun thing I did today was pack up some clothes for a charity....TOO BIG!!
Its usually the other way around (too small) !!!

My weigh-in for this week was 146, down just .2 but better than up. I have four days to get to that 145. I am going to be good today and tomorrow and do a check Monday.
Hat Lady and Lydia WTG!!!!
We are taking our camper to the race trac today and leaving it at the campsite so when it is time for the races next week at Texas Motor Speedway Hubby won't have to figure out where he is going towing it in traffic. We may spend the night tonight, but we'll see.

Hello all!! Well, I didn't make my challenge weight, but huge congratulations on those who lost!! :) I have started the Fat Smash diet and am currently in the detox stage; Monday was my first day, and there are 9 days of detox so I'm not to weigh myself until the 10th day (next Wednesday). The detox consists mainly of veggies and fruits, but you can also have other things like granola bars, low-fat yogurt, things like that. I had talked about it in an earlier post, and I'm feeling confident that on this diet, I will be able to lose a good amount of weight for my daughter's wedding in Jamaica in June.
I will also be looking to see if a new challenge gets started; Hat Lady, would you like to start our next challenge? :)

I am proud to announce I met my goal of 145 for this challenge. I went back to the Doc today. I have three hard dates this month. This weekend I am going to the NASCAR races, then Easter, then a BBQ on the 18th.
I am going to eat this weekend, but I qwill ask myself do you really want this before I eat it. Will let you know how that works.lol

CD I am glad you found something thats going to work for you.
LZ WoooHOOO you made your goal!! Super!!
LZ, when I am in those situations where I am faced with so much food, I take what I really like, then eat really really small bites, and try to eat half of what is on my plate.
Good luck and don't regress.
We need to discuss this new challenge business. I don't know the first thing about it. We need to do this together.

Hat-Lady, I''ll help on the challenge. I've done a bunch. To start a new thread go to the page that shows all the challenges listed. The challenge can be as complicated or as simple as we want. Some great ides can be had by going to look at the first post of old challenges. Just let me know and I'll do whatever is needed to help.

Same with me; I was also leader of a challenge, and LZ helped me a lot with it too! Not difficult at all, and I think you would be really good; you have plenty of motivation and drive, necessary elements for a successful challenge. And I agree with LZ, take a look back at some of the earlier challenges that have been done to also help guide you, and I'm also available to answer any questions you may have.
Congrats LZ on making your goal; proud of you!!! I think you'll be okay in your eating, like Hat Lady says, just eat half of what is on your plate, and also drink a good amount of water before heading out to help curb your appetite. So I'm on day 4 of my detox, and want to get on the scale so bad, but I'm not supposed to until next Wednesday, so I'm waiting ... I can feel a difference, don't know if it is just mental or not, but I'm determined to stick with this plan, going day by day, so we'll see!! :) Tonight is date night for hubby and me, so I told him that we could go to our favorite restaurant, but I will just enjoy the salad bar, so he said that he would have the salad bar with me, how sweet is that!! I plan to go to Curves tonight when I get home, then after that, we can go out to dinner -- I really want to make exercise a priority in my life. Happy a great day ladies, and be sure to drink lots of water; TTYL!

Yep, I need a new push too!! Well, I'm on my last day, day 9, of the detox phase of the Fat Smash diet, and I can't wait until tomorrow when I can weigh myself (had to wait until the day after the detox ends). I missed not having coffee, eating meat and am looking forward to incorporating them back into my diet, and I never thought I would miss having a diet soda as much as I do!! Thank goodness, I can have these things in the next phase of the diet plan!! But I did pick up some excellent habits during the detox phase; I've learned to tolerate drinking only water and drinking more of it, I'm satisfied with eating 5-6 small meals a day, I'm eating a lot more vegetables and fruits, and I don't stuff myself at mealtime since I know the next meal is coming in a few hours, so I need to stay on target and continue this path of eating right.
Excited about Hat Lady leading our next challenge :) -- see you all over there!! :)

Okay LZ, sounds like a plan! I finished the detox phase of the Fat Smash diet, and when I stepped on the scales yesterday morning, I couldn't believe what I saw -- in the 9 days of the detox, I lost a total of 12 pounds!! It is a good diet, filled with veggies and fruits, foods that are good for you. I do need to drink more water though, so I'm working on that today. The weight loss will probably slow down a bit, and that's okay -- finally, the scale is not going on an upward motion, and I couldn't be happier! :) Have a good day everyone; TTYL!!

The love you mentioned- agape, is not a feeling, and that's what you got wrong. And by life being meaningful, it doesn't mean feeling good inside. The love you mentioned, is self-forgetting. Its the kind of love you would be willing to kill your son for (as Abraham was willing to do with Isaac). So no, its not about bio chemicals, if anything its about an ability to overcome it.

Are we still doing this? I didn't find out about phen until a month ago. I just started last month. I began this year with a goal to get at least some regular exercise daily, not lose weight. It was going well, I shared this info with my Dr at my regular visit. She suggested phen might help, because I had been working out with wii fit 30-60 minutes daily, eating better, but not seeing any change. So far the phen mixed with all that has helped. I have a tracker for spring. I started at 191.4 and am attempting to work for 178 by June 13th...13 pounds. I think I can do that...:)
