Ok, so my neighbors invited my family over for thanksgiving AND Christmas dinner this year. But I said I really wanted to contribute to dinner this time. So I agreed to do the potatoe dishes. Problem is, I don't like Sweet potatoes, so I have never made them. So ho DO you make them with the butter and brown sugar and marshmallows? I tried looking it up online, but weeding through the 5 bazillion fancy sweet potato/yam dishes gave me a headache.

I do not like yams either, but I do remember my mom making them every year. She would make them with brown sugar and marshmellows. There is a website that is called Cooking.com. It contains tons of different recipes for yams and anything else really. Below is a link to a recipe for yams that calls for these two items.

Hope this helps:)

I hate them with marshmallow! I make them totally different. I peel, slice them about 1/2 thick, and bake them at 350 until done. What I put into them is: Land O Lakes low fat butter, brown sugar, and marachino cherries. I don't use alot of the butter, just about 2 tablespoons, around a cup of brown sugar and a small jar of the cherries (just cause I love them!). Bake them in the butter until the last 5 mins or so, then sprinkle on the brown sugar (dark brown is better) and put the cherries on. Bake until brown sugar looks melted and take out of oven for serving.

I have either used marshmallows or a brownsugar/butter/nut crust concoction. I like the latter the best. Did you find your recipe and did it turn out well?
