Anyone take Topomax??

I have had a ** for this for 1-2 years for migraines. I have heard that it does supress appetites but am not sure about taking it with phentermine.

Anyone take both? I stopped this but really dont want the migraines back. I see my doctor in January but was hoping to know before I go back again :)

I am on topamax and was also takeing phen. I did not have any problems. does your doctor know about both meds? Always tell your dr every med you take cause everyones body is differant.

I was on topamax for bipolar mood and I lost alot of weight with it...I didnt even notice. I havent taken phen and topamax. But, I was on 200mg/day which is a lot higher than the headache dose I beleive.

I took topamax for years for migraines. I was on an extremely high does 600 mg a day along with a handful of other meds. The only thing that I think you might have a problem with is numbness since topamax tends to cause this. If u dont have any now then its possible that u might when taken with the phen. I had minor numbness but nothing really scary. Hope this helps..

Yes. It didn't work for me until I was at 100 mg twice a day. Of course, I am 6-4 so your mileage may vary. It still didn't work very well. The best thing that worked for me was Depakote. I would try that for sure.

Imitrex is great for mine... what dose were you on? 50 MG gets most of mine or the 6 MG injections.

There is another one called Amerge... have you tried that?

I tried Topamax before (for migraines) and had horrid side effects. I almost went to the ER. I had just about every side effect from it you can think of (numbness, trouble breathing, chest pains, tightness in the chest, dizzyness and trouble swallowing). I have it now on my list of "never to take again" meds and in my allergy list.

I take Topamax for migraines. I only take 50mg daily. I have not experienced any side effects from Topamax, and since being on it, I haven't experienced any migraines, either.

I have been on Topamax for about 4 yrs now. I love it!! I take 200 mg/daily . my headaches are really bad and I have to take other meds as well when one hits. I have been on Phen since Oct 07 and the only problem that I have had is the tingling in my hands. But I also have carple tunnle so who knows for sure if the meds are causing it. The Topamax has really helped me stop drinking soft drinks or anything with carbonation (beer, some waters, etc) It has also made some breads taste funny.
