View Full Version : Resolution Before the New Year & What I Don't want for Christmas
LZ
December 4th, 2008, 10:17 AM
This is a four week challenge beginning today and ending New Year's Eve. Every year most of us struggle to not gain a massive amount of weight during the holidays.:gulp: I need a new challenge to keep me motivated.
All are welcome no matter what the stage of your weightloss. On phen or off phen does not matter. Please leave the drama for other threads. This thread is to encourage and support each other.
Here are the challenge requirements:
1. Introduce yourself and list your current weight and your goal weight for December 31st.
2. Commit to check in on the thread daily or as often as possible. The more you check in and stay accountable the better you will do.
3. Commit to a number of days per week you will do a formal exercise workout and post your workouts done.
4. For the really dedicated and motivated, post your daily menu. I know this helps me tremendously. It is those forgotten bites or tasting of the food that add extra unwanted calories and fat.
5. List any other personal goal you may have and want to track such as water or a certain exercise you want to be sure and do such as abdominal work every other day, etc.
OK, who wants/needs this like I do?

Hi,
I am a 43 y/o Mom of an 18 y/o girl and 11 y/o boy. I have been married to my Hubby for 22 years on Dec. 15th. I am a "rancher" with my herd of 10 and 43+ acre spread here in Texas.:p
* For this challenge my starting weight is 143 and I will be less than 140 on New Year's Eve.
* I committ to at least four cardio sessions per week at no less than 30 minutes per session. I strive for five such cardio sessions with three of them including weights such as FIRM workouts.
* I will track my food and not exceed 1350 calories in any one day and strive for an average of less than 1200 calories per day.
* I will attempt to post every day and log my food.

Hi Tori, glad to meet you.
Why don't we weigh-in on Wednesdays since that is when New Year's Eve is. You have been doing an awesome job. I want to get to 130 also, but my poor metabolism is about shot. I will go for it with you.
Hopefully, we will have at least a few more join us.
Today was my off day for exercise as I exercised Mon,Tues, & Wed. My menu is as follows:
B-Nature's grain bagel(high fiber); fat free strawberry cream cheese;coffee creamer
L-Red Lobster (oh no!) but I did OK blackened catfish, baked potato-butter on the side & used less than a teaspoon;salad w/low fat ranch on the side;1 cheddar biscuit & 4 glasses of water
D-green giant mixed veggies 2 servings; green beans 1 cup; 2 oz. great value beef jerky
I put in the calories and came up to 1340---whew! Now I just have to keep myself from eating which is hard for me in the evening; but I can do it!

December 5th, 2008, 03:46 PM
OK, managed to go to bed without a bedtime snack--nothing short of a miracle. I woke up in the early am starving and had 1 c kashi & 1/2 c soy milk and 1 fiber one pop tart. Soooo many calories so early, but I am just now eating a light lunch and it is after 1:30 so I'll be OK.
Exercise this morning was helping friends Hubby load us 105 bales of hay on the trailer. Great workout!
Christmas shopping after school--more exercise.

Hello everyone, I'm 29 years old, ( i'll be 30 this Thursday coming up) I have 4 kids, 2 boys and 2 girls. My girls are 15 & 5 and boys are 13 & 10. (Yeah I started early). I've been with my husband for 15 years. Now living in Texas( thanks to the Army) lived in the deep south all my life. I work in human resources monday thru friday and on the weekends i'm a passion consultant.:D
I am in desparate need for a challenge, I need any type of motivation for this weight loss journey.
For this Challenge my starting weight is 214.
I want to weight 195.
I promise to continue my tues, and thurs. spin class( which are killers), and walk on my lunch breaks for 30 min. mon., wed, and fri.
I will not go over 1300 calories a day- drink at least 85 oz of water a day
and will try to post and log every thing I put into my mouth.

I would like to join as well, the other challenge ends next week and I like joining these types of challeneges because they keep me happy. My name is Alyssia (pronounced Alicia) and I am 20 years old. I have no kids but live with my boyfriend and kitty. I work full time and am going to school to get my associates degree in business. My weight as of right now is 201, my goal weight for christams will be 195, I seem to lose slow so thats my goal as of right now. If I hit it early I will extend it. My goal is to work out 5-7 days a week for at least 20-30 minutes a day. Of course I am going to keep up with my calories and continue to drink my water. :)
LZ
December 6th, 2008, 01:35 PM
Welcome Daniela and Alyssia. i look forward to getting to know you.
I did well yesterday.
After my breakfast I had a chicken breast salad for lunch w/low cal dressing;healthy choice fish dinner and squash casserole. Total right around 1350. I hope I can eat less today.
Exercise#2 for the week was The FIRM-Complete Aerobics and weight trining. i was so sore from throwing around those hay bales I woke up at 5:30 and could not go back to sleep. My motivation for working out was to help the stiffness. I used lighter weights than normal and it did help. I'll probably get to help empty the trailer today too.
I need to put a picture in my avatar. I'll have to see what I can find.
I think it is cool we can all motivate each other through this difficult time of year.

December 7th, 2008, 07:46 AM
Well, I did not eat less. Total calories around 1650; however, I burned over 800 calories between my normal workout and unloading the hay trailer and some other general farm/yard chores.I definately drank large quantities of water along with the following:
B-1/2 nature gain bagel;1 T ff cream cheese;1/2 orange
L-2 slices light wheat bread; low fat ham;no fat cheese,MWL
s-3 bud light---empty calories that brought be over my cals!
D-squash casserole;10 ounces sirloin steak (too yummy-so too much;salad mw/low fat ranch
S-warm delight mini (brownie 150 cals);1/4 c carb smart breyers;2 T sugar free cool whip
I had opportunities to do better; but I don't feel too bad since I had so much exercise. I will do better today! I am not planning exercise.

So the past few days have gone well, I haven't stepped on my scale but I will in the morning, where I hope to see 199 or at least 200 at this point lol. Friday I spent the day running around grocery shopping, all sorts of shopping..so I got my workout there just running around stores and lifting bags and such. Then yesterday I went skiing and tried snowboarding for the first time. needless to say all I did was fall the whole entire time and was not my kind of sport. I just got back on my skis and enjoyed the entire rest of the day. All my muscles are sore today, I did well with food yesterday but ate a late dinner due to snow and traffic on the way home. I wish I could have drank more water but I had no place I could carry it, where it wouldn't hurt to fall on at least, but I drank as much as possible while I did have it. Lets hope this week is as good as the last!

I would like to do this challenge if its not too late! My name is Dawn and I am a stay at home mom to my 4 wonderful kids. I have a 10 year old daughter, 3 1/2 year old twin girls and an 18 month old little boy. I am 30 and have been married to my husband for 6 years.
My current weight is 158 and by December 31st I would love to be at 150. I will do cardio at least 3 times this week for 30-45 minutes and do Biggest Loser videos twice. I will drink 1/2 my weight in water and keep my calories between 1200-1400.
I think that's it for now. Question for MommytoBelle, could you give me an example of what you eat a day that equals 800 calories? I would love to give it a try!

December 7th, 2008, 10:50 PM
I need a challenge, I am at a plateau. I am Glenna, going to be 50 on the 29th and no I am not worried about it at all! Twenty was hardest for me because I was no longer a teenager. I have been married for 16 years and with my husband for 18. I have two sons, one who is soon to be 16 and one soon to be 31, he is married and will be a first time daddy in Feb. My weight today is 152 as it has been for two weeks! I am losing inches though, so I am not discouraged.
I will do cardio 6 days a week for no less than 4 miles on the treadmill or 6 outside.
I will do my new 10 Minute Solution workout today, Tues and Thurs using two different workouts of the five each time.
I will watch my fat grams and since I really haven't been counting calories I will try to keep my calories below 1150 a day.
I will keep up with my fluids daily.
I will check in here at least once a day.
I would like to be at 145 by New Years, but will aim for 148.

December 8th, 2008, 10:55 PM
Welcome Dawn & Glenna. Glad to have you.
I ended up yesterday with 1336 calories. I even ate out at a mexican restaurant after church. i ordered a marinated chicken breast, salad and some rice. It was really good. I'm too tired to list my whole menu, but I did OK.
So far today OK too. I did a FIRM DVD and have drank a ton of water.
How tall is everyone? I am 5'3".
Glenna, I think its great your OK about 50. I feel better at 43 than I did anytime in my thirties.
Have a great evening all.

December 9th, 2008, 12:38 AM
I did good today, lots of water, kept calories low, did my 4 miles on the treadmill which was 659 calories burned. I am 5'2".
Breakfast: Hard boiled egg white, 10oz Skim milk, 20oz Starbucks coffee (fat free)
Snack: 1/4 cup almonds 10oz water
Lunch: Fat free cottage cheese, Activa yogurt, Hard boiled egg white. 20oz water
Snack: 1/4 cup walnuts10oz water

Snack: Rice trail mix instead of the heavenly Chex mix with Jalapeno pretzels hubby makes! 15oz cup of chamomile tea.
LOL my menu will be the same most days, unless I have lean steak and baked potato for dinner or cereal with skim milk for a snack. Veggies change though. Oh and Starbucks is Mon and Friday only.

Well I did well yesterday. I had a great idea last night while riding my stationary bike, I was bored and knew the 30 mins were going to go by sooo slow, so I decided to play wii sports while riding on my bike. Wow that was a workout for my arms and legs, not to mention the 30 mins flew by. I am 5'7 which makes my goal weight around 160, I wonder why that is why it is much harder for me to lose weight at this point. the scale says I am up a lb to 202 and I wasnt happy, but I guess it is probably because my muscles are still swollen and retaining water from the ski workout. What you think? I dont think I would gain a lb from being so good and having a great workout. Heres to hoping I am much less tomorrow, I am going to try for 30-60 mins of cardio tonight. How is everyone else?

I did well yesterday. My Phen ran out on Sunday and my appt was today so I am on Day 2 of no Phen, but will be taking one in the morning. I did 30 minutes on the elliptical and 20 on the treadmill. Eating was good and so was water intake. Does anyone ever feel totally water logged from drinking so much water? At times it makes me feel nausous.
I am 5'0". SHORT! I have set my goal at 120, which is at the higher end for my height. You are all looking a doing amazing....keep up the great work!
alykat06
December 9th, 2008, 01:36 PM
I drink over 100 oz of water a day, I dont have a problem feeling water logged even though you would imagine drinking a gallon of water I would. I pee so much its not even funny lol, but I tend to always be thirsty so thats a good thing. If you feel nauseaus then I would try and space out the water intake more, if I drink to much at once I will get sick.
4kidz4me
December 9th, 2008, 03:12 PM
I am thirsty too, I will try and space it out farther too and see if that makes me feel better. I hear you on the peeing, I go constantly.

Hi, I want to join this challenge too. I am having a hard time posting though, so I will do my best. My name is Carla and I am the mother of 3 grown children, 24,22 and 20. I am 43 and have been with the love of my life for almost one year.
Todays weight: 253
December 31 goal: 245
I will drink my water daily
I will work out with my "walk at home" video Monday - Friday - this is a 45 minute workout
I will use possitive self talking when I am stuck
I will report to the board as often as I can.
May I just say, I feel good and I am only about 1/4 of the way there. I can only imagine how wonderful I will feel when I am at my goal. Just to be on the other side of 250 is going to make me cry tears of joy.

Hello everyone! Sorry I haven't been posting like I should, but I have been doing great, my food intake has tottally decreased, and cravings for snacks have been taken away, which is awsome. I've lost 5 lbs so far, ( i slipped up monday and weighed myself after the weekend. I've been walking on my lunch breaks, and staying busy at the house with my kids and housework. Drinking close to 100oz of water a day has got me running to the bathroom constantly.
Today I have a spin class, so i'm sure to burn tons of calories after thats done. ( hopefully my butt doesn't hurt as much as it did the first week :D).
This site has been so supportive and uplifting. I thank God everyday for showing me a different way of losing this weight, because I was miserable starving myself and being depressed about being fat. I'm going to weight in on Thursday and i'm praying i've lost another or close to 5 lbs.
Thanks and Blessings to all!

Hi all! It is so exciting to see an active challenge and so nice to have so many new phrends. As you can see I have been at this awhile. I have not been on phen the whole time I have been on this weightloss journey, but way longer than I should have been I'm sure. My Doc does believe in a maintenace dose of phen, but only like a 30 day supply for the year.
My original goal was 138 as that is my goal for TOPS. TOPS stands for Take Off Pounds Sensibly and is a weightloss support group simliar in some ways to weight watchers, but much less expensive. I have my weigh-in tomorrow there too, which works out well for this challenge.
I have been in non-stop challenges almost since I joined this site. The challenges really help me stay focused and I have met some great people. I look forward to the first of the year as I'm sure a few old friends will show up.:)
Aly, great job on the exercise. I know along this journey about every 10% of bodyweight I lost I would hit a plateau and the scale would stick sometimes for 1-2 months. Sometimes it would help if I would change up my routine either food or exercise. Who knows, maybe the WII will do it. What a great idea.
Melissa, great to meet you.
Aly, 138 is at the top of my weight range (for 5'3). Originally I picked it because it would be an even 50 pounds. However, I am not big boned and 130 should be realistic for my size. I am not sure about my age though as my metabolism has been dieted to a stop-LOL. I really want to stay 130-135. I can gain 5-10 pounds in 1-2 weeks without even trying. 120 sounds like a reasonable goal for your size.
Hi Carla, we are the same age. It will be great to see what we have in common. I really enjoy talking to people of all ages and backgrounds. Iit is very interesting to learn about other cultures.
Great job Daniela! Glad to hear from you.
Back in a minute to report my menu.
LZ
December 9th, 2008, 09:07 PM
OK, menu from yesterday:
B-woke up very early hungry--2 servings squash casserole;1 T chocolate frosting
L-1/2 low fat; low sugar banana blueberry pudding pie ( this is good! and has milk and fruit servings)
D-Salmon;green beans; baked potato skins
S-low fat ham;ff cheese on low cal wheat with miracle whip light
1320 calories 34 grams of fat--not too bad
I've done Ok today. Exercise was a 30 minute walk.
Have a skinny evening. Remember to post your weigh-in tomorrow.

I'll have to report my weigh-in later today as my TOPS meeting is at 12:45 and that is the scale I go by. If I show a loss, it won't be a big one, but I'd be happy with any.
My average calories for the past week were 1350 per day which is too high, At least I had a bunch of exercise. I did a FIRM DVD this morning. For the upcoming week I am going to try to plan ahead on menus better.
I have a lot of challenges this coming week. I have gotten where I almost hate to eat out. I don't want to watch other people eat and it is a pain trying to eat healthy at most restaurants. Tomorrow, I am taking GF to Olive Garden for her b-day. I will look at all the nutrirional information ahead of time and be prepared. At least I know ahead of time. It is much worse when unprepared.
Aly, great job at getting back down and kudos for starting your day with exercise.
Melissa, -.2 is the right way to be going!
OK, I need to get to the "stuff" I need to do. Have a great day and I will TTYL.

I forgot to weigh this morning so I will go with Monday's weight of 253. I worked out for 45 minutes to my walk at home cd. I had oatmeal and coffee for breakfast. Around 10 I will enjoy a cheese stick. I am off to a great start for the day on my water. I drink 8 bottles a day and I am on my 3rd. The bottles are 1 pint each.
I love this challenge. When I am working out I am thinking of my team and making this challenge.
Good Job everyone. Thank you for all the nice compliments too.

Hello everyone!!! My weigh in this morning was 157. Let me tell you, I am absolutely scared of what will happen when I no longer can take Phen. I took my last pill Sunday and had to wait until Tuesday for my Dr. appt. By time I got my pills filled it was too late to take one so I waited until this morning. So Monday with no Phen was fine, by 5pm last night I was starving!!!! And i craved everything under the moon!!! It was awful. Took my Phen this morning and I am back to normal. No crazy cravings and now loud growly stomach. Anyone who has been off Phen for a good amount of time want to share with me how it went for you??
alykat06
December 10th, 2008, 01:26 PM
I was off for a month and the first 2 weeks without it were fine, but after that it was horrible, I think my body thought that the almost 30 lb loss was starvation and wanted to go on a bingeing spree not to mention I was wiped out all day long even with a good nights sleep, I kept strong and only gained about 1-2 lbs but I agree, I need help after phen.
4kidz4me
December 10th, 2008, 01:49 PM
I don't knw, I guess I thought my body would be used to eating better and less, so it wouldn't be too bad of a problem. I know its going to always take work and I am fine with that. But craving and starving all night long....AHHHH!! But good job Alykat- you stayed strong. It was a struggle for me for one night, I don't know what 2 weeks would be like. All I know is I DO NOT WANT TO GAIN THIS WEIGHT BACK!!!!
hotmtmama
December 10th, 2008, 01:52 PM
I have a question 4kids4me, Did you continue to drink the water and work out? I am curious and feel the same fears you do about when you get off of the Phen.
alykat06
December 10th, 2008, 02:05 PM
I did everything I was doing before when I was on phen, but it did become much harder to exercise and the will and want to eat was horrible. I saw a document on TV on how even though we lose weight the right way, and exercise, our bodies like to think it is a starvation mode, this mechanism will make us want to binge and thats why so many ppl regain the weight plus more, it also has to do with genetics, our bodies have genes that our ancestors needed for survival that we no longer need, like starvation, so we gain weight because our genes think we need to. I will be asking my doctor as to what I need to do in order to stop this, also maybe see if I can take a maintence dose like some others do.

December 10th, 2008, 05:28 PM
hotmtmama- I was only off Phen for 2 days. I did exercise on Monday and did well. I did not exercise Tues. because we were busy. I did eat the same as I do on Phen and Monday had no problem. But by Tuesday night it was awful. I had a normal dinner and was starving. Then I was massively craving ice cream and McDonalds, things I normally do not crave or want at all. I didn't act on any of those cravings but it totally ****ed!!! It was so hard, and i am afraid if I had to fight it that bad every day that I would give in. And I did drink my water too!!!!

Well, never made it back last night to report my weigh-in of 143. I stayed the same this week and know I have to cut those calories. Yesterday I did better:
B-coffee mate 1 T;yogurt;fiber one bar
L-2 oz beef jerky
D-salad w/low fat honey mustard, ham & 1/8 cup cheese &4 oz pork chop
S-1 c Kashi & 1/2 c skim milk
total just under 1000 Yeah!
Dawn, I too am scared of no phen. I have a hard time when off it. I really think at least 1/2 is in my head. I will be on maintenence after one more month so this is my last chance to get the weight down where I want it. I am just going to have to tell myself there is no way I can gain this weight back and I will have to exercise like a crazy person if I want to eat. I am psyching myself up already.
All are welcome!
This time of year is crazy. I am now looking for olive garden nutritional info so I don't blow it today. Have a skinny day all!

So I am still the same today, I am going to vent because I am just frustrated with the darn 200 numbers, just teasing me as usual, this is where I always get stuck, the previous times I had no phen and now I have phen and I still have the same issues. I just want to see 199 already, I am already 2 months late on that goal..ahh, I am happy to have lost 29 lbs, but thats 5 months after starting this journey, I see others losing this much thier first month ahhh, the weather has put a damper on my mood I guess. All rainy and icky, I just wanna crawl back in bed. I guess I have just hit a point where my body is going to lose much slower and I need to be happy with that. I did 20 minutes on my treadmill last night and did not exceed my calories, I did more exercise than usual since I got up yesterday morning and exercised. I was tired this morning after staying up last night and doing some schoolwork so I didnt get out of bed to exercise. I will get it in this afternoon, maybe do some dance dance revolution.
Everyone else seems to be doing great! Keep up the good work!

Dawn, thanks, I was not sure how long you were off and if you had changed anything. I know we all need to find what works for us. I pray we all find the way to maintain these losses.
Aly I know what you mean. It seems like I have not been under the 250 mark in years. I am working hard and never sit and it feels like the last couple pounds to get there are hanging on for dear life. We will get there. I guess we will appreciate it too. Maybe the struggle to get there is going to be the strength we are building within to maintain.
Everyone is doing great and I am proud of all of us.
We Rock.

:) yes we do rock! Yeah I do think once I hit my goal of 160 I will appreciate it much more and maybe it will keep me stronger and I wont gain all this weight back. As for now I am still working my butt off fighting that damn 200 lb number, Id stab it if I could :D..I think that even though I have 40 more lbs to go, I will cry when I hit 199 just because I have been working for 5 months to get there, I was 5 lbs away on my goal date of 10/16 and I thought it would be gone by now. I will appreciate it much more.

I hear you on that. I have a way to go but I am sure you will hear me shout when I pass that ugly 250 mark.
Today I worked out 45 minutes. I have had my oatmeal for breakfast, planning a salad with lots of protein for lunch and not sure about dinner yet. I am going to my great nephews second birthday tonight. I made him a choo choo train cake and am bringing him a choo choo train gift. He is 2 today. I am not having cake. I just say I am allergic and no one asks any questions. If they do I say. "it makes me fat and I am allergic to that".
Have a great day everyone.

Hey Aly. I don't really know what to do about the exercise thing ! ? What I have been doing is a workout dvd I have its 30m long. I would love to go to a gym but I live in no where's land and I would have to drive 30 to 40 miles one way to get to one. So I'm not really sure what to do about that ? Any info that anyone may have for me about what I need to do about exercise please let me know.

Well I still have another 2 week prescription of phen, I will probably go see her next week since I want to make sure all is well with my blood pressure. Sorry to be a damper today, I just feel bad today...I keep working so hard and I never seem to see 199. I think I may be insulin resistant, I have for a little while now because of the fact that I got high blood pressure and the fact that I cant handle carbs whatsoever, at 20 years old I shouldnt be this big or as big as I was...the fact that I cant lose weight off of phen scares the crap out of me, the fact that it took a year of me going from 185-230 to even get a doctor to let me have phen so it would help..but no, in the meantime I gained all that weight. I am going to ask her when I go about it, since it causes type 2 diabetes in the long haul, this is what my grandma has, it scares the crap out of me....she gives herself insulin and has problems losing weight, at 67 years old she is almost 300 lbs and my grandfather has had to call 911 several times due to her being in diabetic comas at night. This all started about 8 years ago, she was always healthy and skinny..but me at 20 years old I have more risk of being like this even younger. Your doing great mommy2belle, you just have to pick yourself up again and continue with the lifestyle change, me in the meantime, I think I will be looking into a glycemic idex diet. I will see what happens

Not to get too personal, but how are your cycles??? Are they regular? It sounds like you might be a candidate for PCOS (polycystic ovaries)...have you ever heard of it? If not, I'll tell you, but I don't want to explain something you might have already heard of :o

Alykat- Sorry you are feeling down! I felt yucky yesterday but much better today. I guess everything just gets so old....exercising and eating well. I HATE exercising. I continually keep doing it, but am waiting to like it. So far not yet. I think I am burnt out of going to the gym. I would love to take a class but am chicken I would be in there with tons of fit, skinny chicks and I would get too tired and have to stop. Silly, I know, but I just can't do it. So anyways, I bought a new workout video today and I am about to go give it a try.
LZ- That is what I think I am going to have to do. Totally psych myself out. I am not sure if my Dr. is going to let me stay on Phen for a total of 3 or 6 months. So I already feel majorly nervous at the thought of it being done. But we can do, mind over matter!!

Aly that kind of weather gets me down too! Sorry you are down, just remember inches count also. I have been on a plateau myself, but I figure that at 50 and menopausal I am lucky to have lost what I have so quick, and I am losing inches! Some of the new clothes I just bought are getting loose.
I am good on everything today and getting ready to work out now. I have to relieve added stress from bad news yesterday and today was worse!

Alykat...I work at an OB/GYN office... It is fine to go in when you are on TOM...the only thing they cannot do is a Papsmear (which you need if you have ONLY BEEN ONE TIME missy!!!) So you might want to wait until after TOM for that. But if you need an ultrasound, you can still have it done if you are bleeding...gross, I know, but we deal with it all the time. Don't let it bother you. All GYN's and staff know what a period is and what it looks like..lol. Let me know what you find out. Good Luck!

I did well on the calories today, not so well on the water. I will drink more water tonite, but not as much as I should because I don't want to be in the bathroom every hour! I am still deciding whether to do my walking while shopping or on the treadmill. It is cold and cloudy out here and that is the closest you get to good Christmas shopping weather here in AZ!!! It will depend on hubby which I do, I don't like to shop so I make him go with me LOL.

I teach sign/ drama and it is a BIG workout I feel like its a bigger workout then my dvds I do at home. My dvds r just 30m long but I teach for 3 or 4 hours without stoping. If u want to see what I am talking about I am on utube under signing4thedivine. I didn't have time to eat much today so I'm guessing around 800 cals for today. And one more thing am I doing this right ? I mean do I check in every day and tell what I eat and workout ?

Ok, so I know I am late joining, but I just finished the gobble gobble challenge today and it helped me stay accountable so much! So I know this challenge will help me get through christmas and stay motivated. I am going to post my starting weight as of 12/12/08 of 204.5lbs.
For those of you who do not know me, my name is Amber I am 27 years old, mom of a 9 month old baby girl, and wife to my husband for going on 5 years. My husband is in the Army and I am a proud military wife. I stay at home with my daughter, and cut hair on the side, but prior to having a child I was a jack of all trades. lol
Since I am joining late...by the end of these 3 weeks I want to weigh 195. I weigh 204.5 today and I know it's almost 10 pounds, but I want that goal to really push myself! and if you break it down it's a little more than 3 lbs. a week. I need to kick it into gear I want to be 5 pounds into onederland by the new year!
I commit to exercising everyday, alternating between cardio for at least 30 minutes and strength training. I also commit to stretching everyday to really work on my flexibility as well as working my abs everyday, I need to get this tummy flat!
I commit to drinking half my body weight in water......I also commit to no more than 1200 cals. a day.
I want to fit into this very sexy outfit I bought last month and it's still a tad to tight.....I want it to look fabulous on NYE.
Ok I am rambling again.

I'm Jemma (aka Kitty), 24 from England. I live with my wonderful boyfriend and our two hamsters - Prince Eric and Albus Dumbledore (I am lame... I know). I am not on phen. I completed maybe 3 or 4 weeks of my journey on phen and then had to stop due to health reasons and since have been going it alone. I have recently stopped my contraceptive pill as my boyfriend and I want a baby next year.
I weighed in yesterday at 189 (12/12/08) and would like to be 182 at least by new years eve.

Well yesterday I didnt get much time for exercise considering I was with my parents all day, I went to a christmas party and the food stunk big time. So I didnt eat anything for lunch, we then went to Golden Coral and we at there, I had one plate with some burbon street chicken, swedish meatballs, spoonfull of mashed potatoes, and cornbread. I had a spoonfull of banana pudding. I didnt eat anything else yesterday besides my protein shake, I was too stuffed :). Today I am going to get my exercise at the mall :), gotta love shopping lol.
I weighed in at 200.5 today, I always weigh less on the weekend, heres to hoping I see 199 soon!

Overdid the calories today, it was our extended family holiday picnic. Lots of great food and I just had a spoonful, but there were way too many of those! With 100 people there and each family bringing a dish to share well.... I did stick with the roasted chicken breast with no skin that I brought to eat though and stayed away from all of the fried chicken I love sooooo much!
I walked 2 miles this morning and have had my 70 ounces of liquids today, so that is good! My weight is stuck though! I am not losing or gaining. I have switched around what, when and how much I eat. Changed my whole workout routine, amped up my walking pace. I lose inches not pounds! I do feel like I am retaining water though, even though I take Diurex. Maybe I am going to have my first TOM in a few months, that would just totally tick me off!!!! I may start taking the Phen again next week for a few days just for the boost, I am trying not to though.

I am new to this forum and to phentermine. I am 5'2 , age 30 and around three years ago I was 208. I managed to get down to 149 about a year ago, but had gain some back since the. My doctor put me on Phentermine (blue &white) to give me a little boost. I started them last Tuesday 12/9. I feel great so far. I had to play with how to take the pill a little but I find taking half in the am and half around lunch works the best for me. I bought a treadmill on Thursday and ran 1 mile. Friday 2 miles. Saturday 1 mile + 50 sit ups a day each day. I weighed in @ 171 on 12/9 and will weigh in again on 12/16. I feel great so far. I am not sure if I am eating enough but I do not feel hungry. I just get a little naus. in the moring and late night. I had a headache @ night the 1st two days but that has gotten better. I would like to be down to 155 by Dec 31. :p

Hi ladies.
I weighed in at 188 this morning so that's a pound towards my target. Only 6 more to go.
I was really surprised actually given that yesterday was a bit of an off day. I was a little worse for wear after the Miss Santa night out and ate a bacon roll, a few bits of scampi, two fishfingers and a Galaxy Ripple with a scoop of ice-cream. I mean that's all I ate for the whole day so not much but given that it was pretty much all crap I was expecting a gain! I didn't exercise at all either... All I did for the whole day was go food shopping and have sex!
Today's been much better. I had Rice Krispies and half an english muffin for breakfast and then a jacket potato with ham and egg for late lunch. Still full so wont eat again today. I walked about 3 hrs flat while shopping today too!

I finally figured out how to get Fitday to match the treadmill and pedometer to show the actual calories I burn! Today I am at 516 calories in and 3611 burned, not hungry due to 5HTP so probably won't eat again. I drank 100 oz of water, walked 4 miles 1 of those at at 10 incline, worked out with my resistance bands for about an hour. My pedometer said I walked 8.47 miles altogether today, that includes a trip to Costco where hubby has to check out everything (especially the samples) and doing laundry in between miles on the treadmill. I missed walking outside but it was cloudy and cold!

I did good with exercise this weekend, I walked a lot and rode my bike yesterday. My calorie intake was fine both day but I could have skipped on some of the food. I started TOM so I know I probably weigh as much as a cow right about now lol. I am not taking phen this week until I stop Tom because there is no use even taking it during this time anyways, no use wasting phen. I am going to try and get to 199 one of these days but it doesnt look like it is going to be this week..ughh

Yeah I feel that phen is becoming weak in me once again so I want to take a break for this week to boost me again. I did good with everything today, even cut the calories some to make up for Saturday. I did start taking 5-HTP again though and it did seem to help with the appetite. I also bought some B5, B1 and B2 to see if that helps. I don't want to take too many different things at a time though, so I will take the 5-HTP this week and B vitamins next, I will keep taking whichever works best. I think I may start taking 1/2 a 37.5 phen a day too, just to see if I can boost my butt off of this plateau I am on!

Well I did an hour of exercise on my bike yesterday, I rode 12 miles in an hour and burned over 320 calories. My calorie intake could have been better, I needed caffiene bad so I drank a vault. I ate pretty well during the day but the TOM munchies hit around dinner and since we were out looking for a christmas tree burger king was the closest thing. I was mad about that but oh well I am over it and I took my phen today, most TOMs I dont want to eat anyways but this time I think I have TOM munchies so I am not going to skip phen this week. I need it to stay awake during work :).

I am flying to Chicago friday and will not be back until Sunday and its hard to eat right when I am out of town. The hotel has a great gym so I should be able to continue to work out. Didn't get my exercise in, my kids were being difficult and it's like barely 0 degrees out so I didn't feel like dragging all 3 of them out to go to the gym. The twins will be at preschool this morning so hopefully my son will nap so I can exercise.
AND, I am down 2 lbs since Saturday!! Yeah! An even 25 lbs lost, I am so happy and proud of myself!!

We are having freezing weather here. I only got out about 30 minutes today to go take care of the cows. Still having problems with my USB port I use for wireless internet. I hope to be able to get to Verizon tomorrow. For now on the computer we affectionately call the dinasour with dial-up! :eek!

I walked 1 mile at a full incline on the treadmill, then 3 without the incline. Also did leg work out. I purposely ate more carbs today than usual. Although I don't stick to a low carb program I do watch that I eat mostly good carbs. I upped them to see if maybe that will bump be off this darn plateau! Calories right at 1000, water good. I did however decide to wear a pair of pants I haven't been able to wear, good thing I did, they won't fit again LOL. I had to find a belt to hold them up! I decided to try on some others and am now wearing a mixture of size 8 and size 10. I guess it depends on who makes them huh? Now to just get rid of the jiggly skin!

I did well yesterday again, I wanted a tuna sub for lunch but when I got it it was covered in mayo and it was disgusting, too much for me, so I threw it away. I ate my fruits and such. For dinner I made a low carb meal and it was really good! I rode my bike for 45 mins and played wii along with it to keep me from being bored. My weight is 201 today but I am on TOM so it seems logical to weigh that much right now.

It was brought to my attention that noone kept the After Phen Divas challenge going. Now What is up with that? Did everyone let a little drama scare them away? Anyhoo I would start it up again but I don't want to have a challenge going up against the one you started LZ. Someone told me to get out of the kitchen..great idea! I lost two lbs and I'm feeling really good. I hope to be at goal by Feb, maybe sooner since I'm back at the gym and working HARD......I also have been super busy with my job, my family and my new house so there hasn't been alot of time to sit around on the puter and snack like I used to....

Welcome back Scat!
Today I did better with the carbs, kept a good balance and saved a few calories for Friday's Christmas luncheon. I worked with my resistance bands, weights and walked a very fast 2 miles (hubby was cooking dinner, I was hungry LOL), even though Weds is usually the day I give myself to not work out. I will probably work out every day through Christmas, I want to be at or under 150 on the 29th for my 50th birthday. This plateau is driving me crazy! Yesterday was an exausting day for me, got home from work late but managed to warm up the leftover low carb chicken from the night before and have a serving of that. I did well with calories, I am sticking to the low carb so for breakfast I had a protein bar and a protein shake. For lunch I had whole wheat, low carb bread and 2 tbsp of peanut butter. 2 clementines and as a snack I had a hard boiled egg. I didn't get a chance to exercise because It took me forever to decorate my christmas tree and it was time for bed after that. I weighed in at 200 again today so I am happy that the low carb is working for me already, I am a sneeze away from onederland!

Aly I'm excited for you being so close to Onederland! Eeek!
Tom's here today and I'm still at 188 :( but that's to be expected. Damn TOM... no weightloss AND no baby! Booooooooo!!
Oh Well, at least it means I can work on my weight for at least another month and get in even better baby making shape xx

Im excited too :D I deserve it! The funny thing is that if I hit onederland tomorrow it will be exactly 5 months since I started this journey, and 4 months that I have been on phen. That also means this is the first time I havent given up after the first month! Sorry Toms around for everyone it seems :), you will make a baby before you know it, dont stress out about it and it should happen!

I know I am losing inches, I know I am building muscle, I wanna see it on the scale LOL!
Glenna: I tend to lose more inches than I do pounds so I know how you feel. When i started weight training I had no idea I was getting smaller until someone else noticed it and my sweatpants almost fell off of me while I was working out..it was because I was looking to the scale to prove that I was losing. Weight watchers made me obsess over the scale and it is hard to get away from that mentality. But know that losing inches is better than just losing lbs....it means your body is getting muscles and shapely....woot woot....so keep doing your thang and eventually you will see a smaller number on the scale PLUS much smaller size on your clothing labels.
Kitty, It may take a while for you to get pregnant so hang in there and try not to worry aobut it so much. It helps to know when you're ovulating.....so buy a kit or better yet have sex every bloody day..woot woot :)
Alykat...onederland is right THERE girlfriend, reach out and grab that number!!!! Yuo are kicking butt ..so proud of you.
LZ...I thought dial up only existed in politically unstable third world countries...LOL...just kidding...get your butt back online, i miss your emails and i need them for motivation. I am STALLED again...

Thanks scat! It is really nice to see that your around! I am the same way when it comes to losing inches and not lbs. I have been meaning to check the inches again, last time I checked I had lost 32, lol. Yeah getting away from the scale mentality can be hard! I try not to let it rule over me, but it helps keep me in check when I need it to and I dont take it seriously when I know I havent done anything wrong. I will be coming on here to brag if I hit onederland! I have tis feeling I will see it tomorrow, heres to pressing my thumbs for good luck :D

Here I am. I have been busy at work so I have not had a chance to check in. I have not weighed this week. I am going to do it tomorrow when I can have my official 2nd month complete and see how much I have lost. I have been working out all week and doing really well on my water. I have added a lot of stretching to my evening becuase it has been sooooo cold here that it makes my arthritis flare. It has been below zero for 8 days. Today it is 8 above with another cold snap in the forcast. I am hoping to break out of the 250s this week, but we will see. Aly I am rooting for you honey. You are doing great. I have even added more protein to my plan to get there, but it is all about moving more than we consume.
have a great day all. will check in tomorrow.

Thanks Scat! I am just going to be patient and keep on doing my thing, I have about decided that I have reached my goal weight but have 25 lbs of loose skin LOL! I jiggle when I wiggle! I am gonna use my Christmas check from the in-laws and buy some Spanx. Just to keep the thighs from jiggling in my slacks at work.
Today I did really good, I was under alot of stress and didn't munch out! I have my calories way under control and the water. I am getting ready to walk 3 or 4 miles on the treadmill.
I am thinking I have PMS although I haven't had TOM but twice in the last 6 months! I don't want it anymore! I really think I am the only woman I know that didn't look forward to having one and has hated each and every year of it.
Aly you are gonna be in Onederland by Sunday, I just know it.
Hotmama you look great, but you really need to open that package on the desk LOL!

Glenna- I love Spanx. I have twins that have done my stomach in. So I have lost inches in the tummy but the skin is hanging. GROSS! Spanx makes me feel and look normal for a small amount of time.

I hear you on the jiggle thing. Spanks are my friend, so is my body slimmer and some other thing that I bought that supposedly helps you get rid of cellulite, basically all it is is a pair of spanks with waves in it that leave indentations on your body. I wore it to work one day and thought i was going to die from suffocation. Wouldn't you know it my tire exploded on the way home from work....so I was standing outside the car on the hottest fall day of the year dying in this thing while my husband came to change my tire.....I couldn't wait to get home and take the bloody thing off..wouldn't you know it I did lose some weight too...I was probably dehydrated....

LOL Scat I know it wasn't funny at the time, but I can just picture that happening!
Someone suggested I get the Spanx or something similar and get some long or 3/4 sleeve Lycra tops and wear them most of the time. They said in the "old" days that women wore girdles after childbirth to make the muscles and skin "attach" faster. I don't know if that works LOL. I do remember when I had my first son by C-section (almost 31 years ago), that my Grandmother's (both RN's) said to wear a girdle right away. I thought they were both nuts, here I was barely able to move and they wanted me to not be able to breathe? Now here I am all these years later and I am thinking about doing something weirder!

Well my mother told me the same thing and a friend of mine told me about wearing the girdle after childbirth too, so maybe there is some relevance to it. I know that it was way too uncomfortable for me so there was NO way I was wearing a girdle after birth. But think about it..plastic surgery patients have to wear one after their surgeries.....why not after a c section or something traumatic like birth? Dunno, maybe there is some relevance to it.....
I think spanx work to a certain degree....but when you sit down they push all the fat up and over....also on some people like me they give that squished grandma butt look....but I have such bad thighs that with certain outfits and dress pants they are a necessity. Not sure if I could stand a lycra top though, now you're just getting crazy.

I did okay today, probably low on everything though. I went shopping after work, so that was 5 hours of walking around stores, 40 mins of trying on clothes and loving the mirror in the dressing room in Mervyn's! According to my pedometer I did 10 miles between 7 am and 10 pm.
The only accelerated heart rate I got was over the boots I wanted so bad! I passed them by for the dress shoes I needed(wanted LOL) though. I did get two Spanx like capri things, one for white pants and one for black, FOR SIX BUCKS! Since I already have a squished grandma butt I may have to pad them though. I am going back for the boots though, hubby said to go get them for my birthday. I may have forgotten to tell him they have hooker heels though. Of course he knows I have a shoe obsession, especially ones with hooker heels. Oh and did I mention that the same pants I just bought last month in a size 8 now fit me in a 6? Yep I bought two new pairs of slacks in a size 6! I was so excited! It was too late to call anyone to tell them though, hubby is just not near as fun to tell LOL.
Alykat I am just so excited for you! I told you that you would be in Onederland by Sunday.
And Scat I couldn't find a lycra top that didn't squish what is left of my sewn on boobs! I am thinking that I may have to finish the basinett skirt soon so that I can make one. I would like to see what my arms would look like without wings.

I did well yesterday, I am going to stick with the low carb insulin resistant diet for now since I seem to be dropping weight like crazy sticking to it so far, I know it should slow down though..but heck this seems to prove my thoery about me being insulin resistant. I woke up this morning at 197! But I wont change my stats until I see a consistant number, I dont want to get my hopes up for 197 and wake up tomorrow morning at 198 when I have balanced out. I exercised for an hour yesterday, i did 12 miles on my bike at different speeds and resistances. How is everyone else?

Today has been good, even managed to go to lunch with my youngest after shopping. I so wanted that southwest cheesburger he had with fries! I had instead an open faced hot beef sandwich and mashed potatoes, I wish I could say I skipped the bread but it was sooooo good LOL. I am still under on my calories though, I will just have to watch fats at dinner.
Again my exercise was walking around the stores for hours, I am off to shop again tonight when hubby gets home too. I think dodging those darn retirees at the grocery store (why can't they shop during the week?) is good cardio. I must have a target on my rear because at least 5 bumped into it! I swear I am gonna book every tee time on every golf course just to pay them back!

way to go Glenna...it is such an accomplishment when we say no to somethiing we really want like a cheeseburger and fries. Walking around the stores is exercise, especially when you are carrying heavy shopping bags. I know the trip I took to the outlets the other day was harder than most of my jazzercise classes! I LOL about the target on your rear, I hate shopping in crowds, one lady was on her cell phone having a conversation and blocking the Bakugans....she saw me trying to look, you think seh would move her butt but nooooooo....finally some other lady said EXCUSE ME! really loud and she moved a tiny bit ....just enough so we can put our hands in....This is why I love hitting the stores at 8:30am....
alykat, tell me about this insulin diet please......how is it different from low carb? I thought low carb worked because most low carb foods are low on the insulin index....
well time for me to start my crazy busy day. Thanks for the laughs Glenna.

Its baisically the same as a low carb diet but I have to still stay away from some of the low carb foods like milk. I can have dairy as long as it is in moderation, but as you know low carb tends to have a lot of cheese and creams involved. I just add little amounts of dairy to the recipes. i am baisically on a low carb diet but there are a few extra rules here and there lol.
I did well yesterday, I got my braces tightened so I pretty much didnt eat all day except a south beach protein bar and milk..my teeth were killing me (and they still do ughh) my boyfriend wanted chinese and man I could kill him for tempting me so, but I knew that everything is pretty much loaded in cornstarch and sugar, a pretty big no no for me. So I had some egg drop soup and steamed shrimp for dinner..easy on the teeth lol. I exercised on my bike, I did 6 miles in 30 mins. The rest of my exercise came from shopping and avoiding the crowds. I am making cookies today, and I might go to the movies..pray that I have the strength not to eat the cookie dough or the cookies..I hate that I cant have sweets! I also love popcorn at the movies :( oh well my braces hurt too bad for popcorn any ways.

I got my 5 mile walk in this morning, it was chilly when I started but I had to take my jacket off after a mile or so. I love to walk outside when it is nice. I walk toward the Superstition mountains as far as possible, they have always been, and always will be my favorite scenery in the world! I kept my calories low intentionally so that I can have BBQ pork for dinner, now we aren't having it LOL. Water is about 100 oz and I still haven't had my 2 or three cups of chamomile tea. I think I am getting a touch of the stomach virus that one of the women at work had on Friday, but I don't feel bad so I am not gonna worry about it.
I need to iron my blouses for the week and wrap presents tonight so that will be more calories burned! I went through my main closet (I have a "can't wear right now" closet in the spare room) yesterday and got rid of alot of stuff. Even if it fit I got rid of it if I haven't worn it in the last few months. Tomorrow night I tackle the "can't wear right now" closet. I think most of it will go. I don't like them as much anymore LOL.
Scat the "winter visitors" here are horrible! They are rude and think that they should be treated like royalty. They don't realize our economy does not rely on them anymore. As a matter of fact wait people in restaurants hate when they are here, they don't tip well, if they tip at all. The regulars won't go out to eat because they don't want to wait for a table because the old farts will spend 2 hours talking after they eat, so that lowers tips even more. They are horrible drivers! I don't know how they make it all the way here without killing themselves or others on the way. I get so frustrated with them LOL. They have all week to shop and go out to eat, but will crowd the stores and restaurants on the weekends instead! Oh and they stop and talk to eachother in the grocery isles, then get pissed when you want to get by!

Wow Glenna, sounds almost as bad as the tourists in NYC. They are rude, obnoxious and block the sidewalk. I tell them to get back on their tour bus and go back home....the ones that drive take the cake.....I take the train in when I can to avoid the midtown traffic, what makes these people from (blank) think that they can drive? I'm all for people visiting the big apple because it is good for the city...but I just hate it when people say that New Yorkers are rude when these tourists are the way that they are. Hell, I'd pay somebody to mug them if I could....please tourists..when y'all all spill out from a bar/restaurant drunker than skunks just dont' STAND there like a drunk mess not letting people walk by.....thank you....
Good for you for taking your walk.
Alykat, I knew a girl that lost a ton of weight by giving up dairy. She had to becasue she became lactose intolerant....it really proved how much dairy she was consuming, she did'nt realize it until she gave it up.

Sorry for being absent. I finally got my new PC card and just now got it activated. I love the Verizon network and their helpful staff; there just are not nearly enough of them. I waited on hold 13 minutes for help this morning! Not to mention the two hours in the store Thursday and the wait for a Fed Ex package.
My weigh-in from last Wed. was 143, so the same. I have had an awful time with food since, but am committed to being back on track today. I have been exercising, but need to do more.

Good thing I lost that pound, the women at work did a surprise birthday cake for me today! Tres Leches*groan*. I am so thankful I ate a light lunch LOL. So even with the cake (which I deserve and I know won't kill me) I am within my calories. I am doing weights tonite and not walking because hubby was nice enough to cook a low fat dinner for me and I didn't want to heat it up later. Water is good also. Oh, and after a couple or more months I think TOM has decided to visit, at least I feel like it! I hate that, after so long the cramps are horrible! I hear you on that one julie! I did good yesterday, I probably didnt eat enough, my braces still hurt so all I got down was a protein bar, some milk, broccoli cheese soup, and 2 salmon patties for dinner. Of course lots of water! I did 15 mins of stand in place wii jogging before the power cut out and I lost the time, so I just jumped on my bike for another 35 mins. I dont know if I will get any exercise tonight, I have a friend coming over tonight after work to hang out and dont know if I will have the time to take a shower etc, before she comes over. I really hope the next few days will allow me to exercise since they are soo busy..it doesnt even feel like christmas yet.

Good morning. I did well yesterday. Did a FIRM Express workout. Sweettart, I would recommend The FIRM total body time crunch. It has a 45 minute complete workout and a 25 minute Express workout. It does help to have light and medium dumbbells to use with it.
Glenna, I can relate to the TOM issue. I haven't seen him in 10 weeks.....so is he gone for good? At 43? Well-OK by me if so. I'm fixed so I know I am not pregnant. Yes, I need to go see the OB/GYN and plan to about February.
Angel, awesome job on that mile. I am impressed. So, have you given up smoking for good? How did you do it? Hubby has smoked for over 25 years---sure wish he would quit.
Scat, where did you go?
Well, I need to get going. Have a skinny day!
Hotmtmama, where are you traveling to? I'll bet its cold in Montana. We're whining here in No Texas because of freezing temperatures; however, it is supposed to gradually warm up and get up to 70 Friday. Isn't that crazy. I had to break the ice in the water trough for the cows yesterday and am sure I'll have to do it again today.

I'm right here LZ!! Popping on quickly while I lay here and try and catch my second wind. Out of nowhere this wave of exhaustion has come over me. I'm not sure what that is all about but I wanted to work out tonight and right now I can't even get off the sofa and walk! I hope I'm not coming down with something before the holidays. Today was definitely a challenge because I made my baklava. Yes, I had some, ate some of the rejects and that is it, I'm done. I'm dividing it up, putting it into tins and then giving it away or bringing it to MIL's for Christmas. I also made rice balls....same thing..I made them, I ate them and now I'm done. I just wish I didn't feel so darn sleepy because I have so much more to do and I haven't even started wrapping gifts yet...(ugh)...
Ethanangel, way to go on that mile. As time goes on you'll see how much more stamina and endurance you'll get.
LZ...I have to see OBGYN also and get a mammogram....I keep putting it off....getting old is no fun! Your doc can run an FSH (follical stimulating hormone) test and some other tests to see if you truly are going through the change. 70 degrees? Now that is just nuts...LOL....i
Anyhoo if I don't get back on here I want to wish y'all a very merry christmas.

Today was not a great day for me, kept within my calories and fat, but I ate ALOT of carbs! I had a hard time with the liquids today for some reason, maybe it is the cooler weather. I didn't get my walk and I feel disgruntled and grouchy because of it!
I wrapped presents for 3 hours. I was upset because DH was supposed to do 1/2 of the wrapping yesterday on his day off! Oh well, it is done and over with for another year LOL. I am determined that since we are doing an early Christmas Eve at my mom's, I AM going to get my walk in tomorrow after we get home. I will also have time Christmas morning because we will let the boy open his gifts tomorrow night. That is one good thing about a teenager, he wants to sleep in on Christmas LOL.
I hope you all have a great Christmas! Oh and for those who celebrate it Happy Hanukkah!

YAY Aly! You are doing so good. I was up 2 lbs this morning to 153, but that is because of TOM. Can I just say I have always hated TOM? I hate it even more now LOL. I am going to keep everything under control today.

December 24th, 2008, 02:53 PM
Aww thanks guys :D, Glenna, I think we all hate TOM..and you know what..it has to be a guy because it would be logical for a man to put pain and suffering into our lives :D! Well at least you know its just water weight, thats why I love diurex :), it will all go away in the end.

Hey all!
I seriously forgot to get on the scale today. I am cutting myself some slack from this morning and extending until Friday morning. I am trying not to completely overdo it, but I am relaxing my regimen for sure.
Already had a great evening with Hubby and the kids. The relatives will be here tomorrow. I think it is a blessing to slow down a little on the $ spent this year as it seems to make what we did spend extra special. I have to admit, I could have spent less, but did spend much less than usual.
Scat, I had that test 18 months ago and was completely in the limits. It sure doesn't seem that long ago, sigh!
Merry Christmas all!

Okay so I got in 6.5 miles in 2 hours, 45 mins of core and weights. Already had all my water, burned 1500 calories, so good to go on the low fat lasagna hubby was nice enough to prepare so I could work out and quit being a b i t c h! Merry Christmas!

Hey ladies! I hope everyone had a great Christmas. My 3 little kids were all sick but they still had fun. As for me, exercising has not been good. I need to step that up and get going strong again. Eating hasn't been too bad, one more Christmas function and we can be done with that. And I am only 1 lb away from my New Years goal so I am hoping I can loose that pound!!!
alykat06
December 26th, 2008, 03:13 PM
You can do it! i am only a sneeze away from my new years goal as well, I weighed in at 196.1 this morning and that was before using the bathroom. So hopefully I will see 195 tomorrow. The past few days have been good, I havent exercised much but then again I have been busy with family. I am glad to say I stayed away as much as possible when it came to carbs, no mashed potatoes or buns for me. I did give in and have some cookies yesterday but I am over that :). I am going to go to moms tonight for Lasagna..Ill probably end up picking out all the noodles :D..hehe..then going to the movies with my bf, I hope to skip the popcorn and sneak my huge bottle of water into the theater..not that I think they would say anything anyways..I hope everyone had a good Christmas, mine was good..of course the bf still doesnt know anything about gifts but thats alright. How is everyone else?

I did good yesterday, only ate one piece of cherry pie! It fit in my calories though. Today I hope to get back on track and away from the sweets!
Aly it isn't just BF's that don't know about gifts! My DH bought me a bottle of Irish Creme Liquor! Thing is I don't drink but a couple times a year, then it is beer or vanilla rum and Dr. Pepper. Oh well, I will just put it up for a year and regift it to my MIL who drinks it LOL. Good thing I went an bought my digital camera for myself huh? Oh and my oldest son and DIL want to take us to The Cheesecake Factory for dinner as a Christmas gift (proof my DIL hates me)! I was like uhm did you not notice the missing part of me, you know the toddler size bit? I will have to find something that is not too bad on the menu I guess.

I did really well actually. Was up at 6am, had an english muffin for breakfast, then made dinner which was lovely but as I have an addiction to brocolli I ate loads of brocolli and managed nothing else... then I had a few biscuits(cookies to you guys I think), the odd small chocolate. I just had no appetite... or time to think about being hungry. We had my mum and brother over at 10AM so there was entertaining and cooking to do, then cleaning up and trying out the Wii fit, then off to visit my Fiance's (love saying that) parents and didn;t get in until late so was at it non stop. I actually weighed in at 188 Christmas morning and then 185 this morning lol.
Did you have a good day Sweettart?

Woohoo!
184 this morning. Yesterday was another day of not eating very much. Half an English muffin for breakfast, grabbed 2 fig rolls (like a biscuit/cookie) at around 2 pm and then a slice of pizza in the evening. My appetite has just died... it's cool though because as I'm not really eating I can treat myself when I do s I don't feel like I'm missing out on the yummy food

it sounds like you ladies are doing fine.....bravo....I managed to put on a lb so considering all the eating I have done since Christmas eve I don't consider that bad. I bought a big salad to get me through the weekend and sushi for tonight so that I don't pig out royally on the fresh keilbasa my hubby is cooking for us. Last night he made rabbit stew, so again, I didn't partake in the eating....I refuse to eat bugs bunny! to me that is like eating a cat or a dog.
kitty I guess wedding gown shopping is in your future! If that isn't reason to stick to a diet I don't know what is!! Oh and I had to take a double take to see what it was your fiance was holding up to his mouth in the picture, for a minute there I thought y'all were getting kinky with the marital aids..bahahahah....
enjoy the rest of your weekend y'all....I want to hear how LZ did. I have an awful cold and can't work out..booo..hisss...

Well things are going well here, still no exercise but I hope to be doing some tonight..I need to get my butt on that treadmill, bike, or DDR. I have been eating fine..sticking to my low carb as much as possible...very hard with all the darn cookies..I havent gained any weight which is good..not that I expect to anyways, I havent been that bad, I didnt eat much yesterday..my fault..I got caught up in my Paper Mario game and couldnt get myself unglued until we went to ruby tuesdays for dinner..I had salad and chicken topped w/bbq sauce, tomatoes, acon, onions, and cheese. Side of broccoli, and I had a couple of fries but the rest got tossed..I had to give into the cravings. Today I did good as well I ate toast and cream cheese for breakfast (light bread) and had some fruit for lunch, and dinner was oven baked chicken topped with mozz, then topped with a mushroom alfredo sauce and broccoli..so delicious! and low carb :).
LZ will you be starting up a new challenge after the new year? I need something for a long haul, lets say the summer. I go to Germany in May and I need all the motivation I can get :)

Today is a busy day, I will reach all of my goals though. I have had a horrible headache on and off since Christmas though. I think it is just post holiday stress. TOM is gone and I am back to 151! OH and I have no more skinny clothes to use as an incentive! I now officially fit into all of my clothes!!!! I was so pumped this morning when I did my weekly "try on the clothes in the back of the closet"! Here are some pics.

I did well so far today, even logged all of the samples I ate at Costco! I weighed 150 this morning, so hopefully my plateau is over. I bought a new scale from hubby for my birthday, it tells me BMI, if I am hydrated and keeps track of my loss. I just have to figure out how to program it. We also ran into some friends we haven't seen in a couple years at the mall, it made me feel good when she told me I looked great and wanted to know how I kept the weight off! I forgot that the last time I saw them I was at about 145 LOL. I told the truth though and felt better for it.

Hey Gals, you all are such an inspiration.
I've been going through a down period the last few days I'm sure for many reasons. Christmas was great! I really enjoyed seeing Hubby's side of the family and I brother dropped in unexpectedly. So some of my depression is post Christmas letdown. I didn't do too bad on food, but not great either. Add TOM showing up finally after almost three months and Iguess that accounts for some of it.
GF got me a new FIRM video the day after I decided to treat myself to another one. They are both awesome. I did work out at leat twice last week--maybe three times.
It is a beautiful day here today. I will be diligent. Only the scale will tell the damage on Wednesday. My TOPS group is nt meeting again until he 7th. I hope to go back less than when I left two weeks ago.
AlyKat, I see you started a new challenge. I will check it out. I truly need y'all to pick me up and give me a boost. I was really doing well for awhile. So close, yet so far away!
Glenna, your looking great!
KittyVentura, congrats on your engagement. Getting jiggy---I love that expression.
Scat, I've been dragging. Need to get to it, the day is slipping away.
Oh, we were watching some videos from 2002 the other day. I did not realize how big I was. Unbelieveable!

Hey LZ its nice to see your around...sorry about the After Christmas blues, I get those because I miss the activities and the family time. You should join the challenge, I love challenges and this one will be over this week. We already have 40 challengers and I know there will be more joining, I know this challenge will be a great motivation and will be great support system.
I have been doing good, I exercised for 45 mins yesterday on my bike, did 10 miles. I had some french fries which made me feel bad but I wanted junk so bad, I let myself have a handful. I also had a few ribs as well but I dont think that is bad. I did well in the earlier part of the day though had my adkins bar, a pbj sandwhich on low carb bread, and a clementine.
