The RNP (she writes my phen and Pristiq scripts) who works with the surgeon who did my hysterectomy, told me to be sure to take a multi vitamin & 2000 mg. omega three each day. My primary care dr. has me on Atenelol and Amlodpine (for HBP), levoxl (thyroid) and Clonazapam (RLS). I also have extra HCTZ (water pill) if I need it, but prefer a more natural remedy for water weight. I hope when I get to goal, to be able to decrease my HBP meds as my BP has been good lately and also to wean myself of the antidepressant (Pristiq) after the holidays because I know alot of my depression issues are tied to my poor self image. The more I lose, the more confident I feel.
Anyone else taking a heap of medication like I do??????

Well, my doctor also has me on Glucophage. It's a medicine usually prescribed for diabetics, but also works for weightloss. I'm on 850mg a day of glucophage. Also, whenever I fall off the "wagon" I take Alli. It's the same medicine as prescription "Zenical" but, half strength. My doctor told me to take 2 capsules with any particularly "fattening meal", every other day, maximum. That's it, except for occasional vegetable laxatives to get my system "going" again when my bowels seem frozen up....

Karen....I took Xenical years ago. It was an "interesting" experience. I have trouble going to the bathroom and thought about Ali (this was due to my surgery, dr. told me either my bladder or colon would give me a bit of trouble because I had so much scar tissue) and it turned out to be my colon. I take a colon cleanser when I need it and eat ALOT of fiber. My poor husband hates shopping with me cause I look at every label.
My sister is on Glucophage. I'm the only one of four kids who hasn't had isssues with my blood sugar and diabetes runs in our family. They checked me pre-surgery (fasting blood glucose tolerance) and almost didn't believe I had a reading of 117.
Listen, I meant to ask you before...you mentioned you drink lots of water everday. I used to drink 80 to 100 oz....no problem. Now I have an aversion to most any drink, unless I'm thirsty. I go days and barely drink at all. I'm guessing I drink maybe 25 to 30 oz. a day. Isn't that weird? I just really don't want it and barely feel thirsty. I may mention this to my dr. even though I feel fine and it barely sounds important.
How do you get all your water in????
Thanks, Di
