I know several have posted that they are starting phen right now....myself included. Water is going to be a big struggle for me so I'd like to focus on drinking 107 oz of water a day.

anyone else want to join the water challenge? I thought we could do week by week and focus on one new thing each week so we start slowly changing our habits so they last. I have a bad habit of going "gung ho" and then fading out and getting discouraged....so I thought I'd offer up a weekly challenge.

anyone else on board?:)

Hi Backtome,

I would love to join you challenge. I too need a bit of pushing. I get discouraged so easily. I will be focusing on drinking half of my body weight in water (85 oz) for the week. I also think its a great idea to change the focus each week.

BTW I weigh in tomorrow at my doctors and I'm curious to see how I did for these last 2 weeks.

yay! 2 members! I get sooo discouraged too so that's why I thought weekly challenges would be best for me and am glad there is another out there like me. I can't wait to see how you do tomorrow! :)

and wanna borrow some of my ounces? :D LOL!

I am really nervous about my weigh in. I wasnt nervous until I totally bombed my whole diet. I was doing so well until I went to my ten year reunion and drank a ton of beers and then ate fried food!!! SO BAD!!! But I got right back on track the next day and I I have continued to do well. So we'll see. My biggest problem is exercise. Every morning I totally sleep in a ditch my exercise plan. I really want to exercise though since I know it will help tone my mommy body plus help me lose weight faster. Hope you had a good day. I still have 24 more oz to go!!! I will do it!!!

You guys could always come and join our 4 week challenge, its still open to everyone and we will probably run it longer than 4 weeks. Our goals are to drink half our weight in oz of water, eat our recommended calories, and exercise 30 mins a day. you can find it under challenges also. We set an amount of weight we want to lose in that time period. Check us out :)

I just felt so overwhelmed. :rolleyes: So I thought I'd do a weekly focus on one thing and then the next week add one more while keep up with water. So THANK YOU for the offer. :)

I thought next week we could just add 20 min. of exercise 3 times a week. Nothing to drastic and easy enough to accomplish and feel good about ourselves.

I am working on my first 64 ounces....blech. I hate water. Will I ever come to actually like it and WANT it?

You can do the next 24 oz easy peasy! :) Good luck on weigh in. Don't be discouraged about getting off track for a day. The GREAT thing is that you didn't just say "whatever" and forget everything and continued to make poor eating choices. Keep up the great work girl!

WHOOO HOOO!!!! I did it. I finally lost weight. I weighed in today and I lost so much more than I expected........11 pounds!

I drank my 85 oz of water yesterday. I didn't exercise this morning....of course I opted to sleep in =( But I am hoping that I will be more motivated now that I know for sure I'm losing weight. I think that I will try to do some kettlebell exercises tonight when the kids are asleep.

Backtome......you can do it. Baby steps will turn in to giant steps!

So back to drinking my water.......only 75 more oz to go! haha

I will join your weekly challange as well. I really have to push myself to get the water in. I guess cotton mouth is just not enough....

WHOOO HOOO!!!! I did it. I finally lost weight. I weighed in today and I lost so much more than I expected........11 pounds!

I drank my 85 oz of water yesterday. I didn't exercise this morning....of course I opted to sleep in =( But I am hoping that I will be more motivated now that I know for sure I'm losing weight. I think that I will try to do some kettlebell exercises tonight when the kids are asleep.

So back to drinking my water.......only 75 more oz to go! hahaTHAT IS SO FREAKING AWESOME!!!!!! I have about 50 more oz to go. OMG this is hard!!!!

LOL@cotton mouth not being enough...tru dat! lol. I did 60 oz this morning of plain cold water and this afternoon I put in crystal light white grape juice plus metabolizer in my water. I just could barely stomach the water this morning so I will ease into 100 oz of plain water. blech. I wish I loved water.

Here's to another 50 oz today. chug a lug! :D

I know water isnt most peoples favorite drink!! Its been hard for me too but, I find it a little easier to drink at room temperature so then I can just chug! If I do that when its ice cold I will for sure get brain freeze.

Also I use a camelback better bottle which is BPA free and dishwasher safe. It makes it easier for me to drink water??? I'm not really sure why. I have like four of them and I love them to death!

When is your next weigh in??

My next weigh in will be November 5th. I was supposed to start the phen at the beginning of the month but wanted to do enough research first and try on my own...all that got me was a 3lb gain! I can't deal with both psychological hunger and physical hunger together....I totally caved! :p

I have a headache tonight though...so i really need to finish this water...plus I didn't really pee that much today despite all the water I have taken in! :eek:

I have been on Phentermine for almost a month. I went down 7lbs but have gone back up 5lbs. I have also experienced a fast heart rate. Is this normal? Any suggestions on how to get the weight lose to begin again would be appreciated.... I am uncertain as to how to really navigate the site to responde so any suggestions help would be sooooo appreciated.:confused:

BackToMe.....that's funny that your weigh in is Nov 5th since my next weigh in is on November 4th.

I was also getting headaches the first week. Make sure your getting enough to eat. I think most of the time when I did get a headache it was because I was not eating enough.

I still have 30 more oz to go!!!! So I better get back to chugging!

This is right up my alley. I just finished day one so I sat down to write out all of my water intake as well as my food journal and was shocked to see how much I drank today. I had 104oz of water, and 32 oz of iced tea. Which brings me to a question, does iced tea count for water consumption? I know carbonated beverages don't, but do caffeinated beverages count? I suppose I should have 12 more oz to meet my daily goal just in case, but does anyone know?

Oh, and I am JUST like you with getting gung ho and the fading out so THANKS for starting the challenge!

If you go to the home page for the forums and click on "My Phentermine Experience" you can post there and get great answers from some great people. :)

still chug a luggin! and tchermomy.....how cool is that that our weigh-ins are so close together! then we will be on track together! that makes me happy! so whether you like it or not, you are my instabuddy! hahaha! :D

Oh, and I am JUST like you with getting gung ho and the fading out so THANKS for starting the challenge!YAY you made it here! you drank an amazing amount of fluid! :) I'm a little lenient on the fluid intake so I may not be the one to ask...because as you can see that half of my intake today is crystal light...but it has no calories and no sodium...just lots of lovely chemicals! LOL I'd say that if you make the iced tea yourself and it's herbal and you don't add sugar, then that would be fine....caffeine isn't great while on phen so I'd try to limit that as well. I think I've read that lots of caffeine can have a negative effect on weight loss....but don't quote me on that...I should go research that.

You can say that again! I barely felt the effects of the phentermine until I had the tea (which btw tea usually doesn't enough caffeine in it to get my attention at all). After I had the tea i felt like I was on speed. This was exactly the feeling I never liked about the otc diet pills back when the had phen in them (they also had caffeine). Anyways from here on out I will make my own tea but decaffeinated (I don't add sugar so I am good there)

Hi Ladies! I am past the one week so not going to join you, I just have a suggestion. From one water hater to others, I drink out of a 10 oz coffee cup. It is alot easier that way for me, I keep a sticky note near to do slash marks of how many I have had. I also drink Canada Dry raspberry or mandarin orange club soda. The lemon lime has sodium but those two don't. Makes drinking water much easier and my Dr. said as long as no sodium, sugars or caffine it is okay. I can manage to get a two liter bottle down a day if I don't drink herbal teas, which Dr. said is fine also.

Anyways from here on out I will make my own tea but decaffeinated (I don't add sugar so I am good there)Great!

I am having a great day today. I already drank 24oz of water and I'll drink another 24oz with lunch.

I do want to share something that I have noticed with you. I noticed that when I wasnt eating enough food I was not losing weight. Now that I have been making sure I eat enough food each day I am losing more weight. I am excited to see how much I'll lose by my next weigh in.

I also think that drinking water all day is also helping me to lose weight faster. The first week I didnt really try to drink as much water and now that I am it seems to be coming off of me faster!

I will go ahead with this challenge :) since i am new to phen and all. I will be focusing on drinking my 107 oz a day - cant wait for next weeks challenge hah!

Well I believe I have drank at least 100 oz of water. I feel like I am a floatation devise or that i am going to pop. I did not drink as much as I should have yesterday until late evening. Just a note, don't do that, you will be up all night going tinkle. Today I have smartened up and am getting the water down early. :)
I also walked a mile today on my lunch break. I am going to be such a hot mama in no time.

Well I made it through day two. I got 114oz in today, but it was a struggle. Not because I wasn't inclined to drink it, but I was at work and I had to drink sink water....bleck!! I had such dry mouth though if I didn't keep guzzling I wouldn't have made it though the day (I have a tendency to gag when I try to talk if my mouth and throat are too dry, and since I am a sub teacher I have to talk non stop). Anyways my point is 2 days down and I am super excited to keep going.

I haven't started exercising yet, but WTG hotmtmama! I am also breaking up my water by carrying a water bottle that has the oz. listed on the side. It is nice to know that I have finished 16oz per fill. I try to drink 2 before leaving for work, 2 at lunch, 2 with dinner, and random fill ups whenever else I am thirsty (which is all day with this pill). I just hope that when this side effect wears off i will still be keeping up with the water.

Keep up the good work girls, I am off to bed. (Hopefully I will sleep through the night tonight!)

I know exactly what you mean about the dry mouth. I think thats why it has been easier for me to drink so much water cause without it I feel so nasty. I'm also a teacher and when I teach I keep it right next to me. I get so worried that everyone can see my yucky cotton mouth!!! When I'm not a school I keep my 24oz bottle with me in my purse.

I havent exercised either. I think all of us are in the same boat. So I'm already thinking about next weeks challenge. It should probably be something to get us more active. I'm thinkin maybe 20-30 min of exercise?? Let me know what you guys are thinking about for next weeks challange.

I've drank 48 oz so far.......only 35 more to go!! Yeepee!

I have to say that breaking up the water is working a lot better for me. I carry a pint size bottle and know that I really need to have 7 or 8 of them a day. I have had 5 already today. I am getting more used to it. I have found it you keep your water in you don't get the cotton mouth....duh

my cotton mouth is so bad today....and it makes my breath stinky. blech. the headaches are gone though!

and next week I was also thinking of exercise and thought we could start with 20 min sessions 3 times week and increase from there.

way to go everyone on drinking all this water! and yuck on the tap water. I don't like it either. I found that I really like arrowhead spring water and can buy a gallon for a dollar at the grocery store! it's also pretty cheap at gas stations too. :) also, thankfully the 2 schools I work at have really good filtered water without a horrible taste to it....that helps when I am refilling my bottle AND it's COLD!

the stinky breath could be ketosis starting. If it bothers you, OR others, you might try a stick of sugar free gum. I think that spring water is far better than the bottled drinking water.

well weekends are HARD for me getting all my water. I am going to seriously have to FOCUS on intake. I was about 30-40 oz short. Better than nothing but still waaay below where I need to be. Before i knew it the day slipped away from me and here was NO way I was gonna drink 40 oz just before bed. LOL.

I am going to start a new thread for the next week's challenge of 3 das of 20-30 minute exercise challenge. Everyone feel free to join. I really need to get this body movin and groovin. I haven't lost a pound!
