I've just started on phen (this is day 3), and enthusiasm is very high. I'm curious what kind of eating is best. From reading a few of the threads, I see that some people say no soy milk or dairy. Is that true? I drink soy milk every morning when I take my vitamins and phen. Is this bad?

I've also been drinking Slimfast high protein shakes and having their meal replacement bars. I was intending for that to be the majority of my diet, with perhaps a small meal (Lean Cuisine or something else light) for dinner. Is this a reasonable plan? I'm also drinking Special K protein waters.

Also, can someone tell me about the B12/Lipo shots I see mentioned here frequently? I know what B12 is, but Lipo? What's that?

Thanks!

Lauri

Hey there! You have come to the right place! Now we dont diet here we are making better life choices so stick to foods that you can eat for the rest of your days, try to stay away from any diet that doesnt give you good eating habits and prepares your meals for you because once you stop eating them you will not know what to choose. Some here do Adkins and Low carb, I couldnt do that because i would binge! Sure have your 3 servings of dairy a day, its good for you just stay low fat or skim. Milk has great protein in it and cheese is a better snack then chips or a 100 calorie pack. Watch out for slim fast products because they are really high in carbs!!! You are better off getting the potein shakes at GNC or walmart (big tubs) they tend to have 1 net carb and a lot of grams of protein. Dont replace every meal with a protein shake, Everyone needs a certain amount of calories and I believe most of us consume 1200. Not eating will stunt your weight loss. You also will get easily bored with just shakes and lean cuisines and end up eating the way you were. You still need your fruits veggies meats vitamins etc. Drink lots of water (unflavored just regular water) drink half your body weight in Oz, seems like a lot but you will be surprised with the weight loss. Here is my typical day of food.
Breakfast : Protein shake with 1% Milk
Lunch: smart ones or salad
Dinner: salads, subway, pasta, lean meats chicken, turkey, ham, veggies
Snacks: Nuts, cottage cheese, fruit, yogurt, skinny cow or Weight watchers ice cream, or string cheese

If you have any questions feel free to ask.

I do high protien with 60 carbs/day allowance. Somedays I don't have the 60 carbs, other days I may consume 100 carbs. I use pumpernickle or flax seed bread for toast and sandwiches. I drink 1 diet Mt. Dew a day (my morning caffeine), lots of water and a glass of 2% milk with supper.

I eat a big breakfast (scrambled eggs with veggies and cheese, w/ toast), a huge salad at lunch with grilled chicken and something lighter for supper. Since I work all day and go to school at night, I make my breakfast and lunch my biggest meals of the day. I've found that if I eat a big salad with lots of good greens (not iceburg lettuce) it keeps me from getting constipated (maybe TMI? Sorry). Snacks are yogurt with Kashi cereal on top, string cheese, nuts, ham & cheese rolls, boiled eggs, fruit , and veggies with ranch dressing.

It just depends what works for you. Not everyone can do the high protien foods. Find something you can stick with, I think the key to any change is moderation. If I want a bite of cake, I have it. It beats holding out and eating nearly the whole darn thing by myself!
