Not doing so well with the cravings, ya'll. I don't know if it was psychological that I didn't crave junk food while I was taking Phen or was there something in the drug that prevented the cravings? Anyway, I am horrified when I catch myself eating something that I haven't eaten in months. What do I do to make it stop? I'm not feeling depressed or anything. I'm working out just as hard as before, but I can't make my hand stop putting stuff in my mouth. Is anyone else having this problem?

Kim, I'm having a terrible time too. I wish I had some words of wisdom. I just got home from camping. Exercised with a lot of swimming and biking and ate a lot too.

I am telling myself this has to stop now! I put on a pair of jeans when I got home that fit so well 10 pounds ago, but are uncomfortable now. I am going to wear uncomfortable clothes for the next few days as well as bring faithful about writing down what I eat. I have got to start going the other direction!

Recognizing the problem is a start, right?

Thanks, LZ. I was starting to think that maybe I am just not disciplined enough, but I didn't have these problems while on Phen, so I had to have had some discipline even when Phen. I left the house and stayed gone all day today so I didn't even have the chance to mess up.

Try drinking a full glass of water when the cravings hit. Sometimes it makes my stomach so full I know it would be uncomfortable to put anything else in there so the "gotta have it!" turns into "You'll have to roll me into bed if I put one more thing in my body." :)
A poster named Dalako made a post awhile back about if you crave _________ then your body is lacking _____. For example, I crave peanut butter to no end. That supposedly means my body is lacking calcium. I started taking chewable calcium tablets and it does help some. Recently the cravings came back so I am snacking on a big rice cake topped with a little peanut butter to satisfy the craving with getting all the calories from a whole tablespoon of peanut butter. I drink a glass of water with it which seems to puff up the rice cake in my stomach and make me feel fuller. Try searching for the post and PM me if you can't find and I'll look it up and bump it for you. It's on the My Experience with Phentermine board somewhere.
Hope this helps!

i hear you Kim. The first week I went off phen, my carb cravings were unreal. Before phen, I rarely indulged in chips & sweets, but since I have been off phen, its an everyday fight for me not to have something sweet. I eat the 100 calorie packs but I usually end up eating 2 or 3. I have cut back some, but not as much as I need to. What helps is if I carry around the green seedless grapes or a plum. I really just need to stop buying the 100 calorie packs but I also pack them in my 2nd grader's lunch box. I wish I had some advice for you, but I'm in the same boat as you are.

I've been off phen for a couple weeks now, and have put back on a few pounds... ugh! I rationalize with myself that because I have increased my exercise, that it's OK that i'm eating what i want.... and that would be the case... only one problem tho.. there is NO moderation AT ALL!!!!
Over the weekend, I ate like crazy, I HAD to have icecream, both in the form of frozen yogurt & at baskin robbins, I made homemade peanut butter cookies, I ate chips... ugh....
But it kinda all makes sense this morning, as I do believe that TOM is knocking on my door... lovely lol
So, ladies, you're not alone ;)

Ya'll are really scaring me with this. My dr appt is Thurs and I'm wondering whether or not to stop taking this. I have 10-15 more lbs to lose and wanted to lose them on my own if I could. What do ya;ll think. Should I stop or go another month?

I get low calorie snacks for times like that, and those are usually the 100 calorie chocolate puddings, 100 calorie snack packs, or get like a bag of small candy bars and ONLY allow yourself one. I believe it's a personal battle....and you will catch me battling with myself ALL DAY LONG! Just DON'T pick it up....and DON'T EAT IT!! Good luck. We're here for ya!.

Kim I just saw this post just now.....Are you sleeping well? Sleep deprivation makes us crave...not sure why but I know in my own case that seems to be the case. Also are you taking a multivitamin? Do that in case you are craving because you are depleted from some type of vitamin. ..Try and mimic that "fullness" you felt from taking phen with high fiber foods...and protien at any meal helps you feel fuller too...cravings usually happen when we're bored or still hungry. I am trying to have diversion at times whenI want to snack, like late at night.

Please PLEASE don't give up. There IS life after phen and it can be a good one!
