This challenge is for anyone who has stopped taking phen and is trying to lose weight or maintain on their own! Please introduce yourself and tell us what your goals are for this challenge.

Our first challenge will start NOW and end Halloween. I figured that would be a good time to gauge our progress. I am going to keep this challenge as simple as possible.....all you have to do is post with what you ate for the day, your workout and water consumption......maybe we can have some mini challenges within the challenge. Like for this week let us try and get water down.........

All ABOARD! :blabla:

Hello Divas,

I have to say that life after phen is not what I thought it would be. First of all I've been sick ever since I stopped phen....a coincidence. I was taking phen and doing the slimquick challenge (what a disaster) and I truly felt crappy. That was weeks ago and I'm still not myself. Having some gallbladder issues really has opened my eyes to the fact that I have NOT been taking care of myself. Phen made me stop wanting foods that were good for me. No lie, looking at certain things that I used to enjoy like salad and vegetables used to make me want to gag......That and skipping meals , I have really done a job on myself. Add the stress of a sick parent and other things to the mix and it is not a good scene.....

But that is the past and all I can control is the future so here I am. I am determined to get the last ten lbs off without the help of phen, I need to do this the old fasioned way! with amphetamines! (ONLY KIDDING)...I have not worked out seriously since May so this is a big turning point for me......getting back on the wagon is a big deal...fitness used to be my profession! To think Ive come to this point....but again, the future is what is important.

SO my goal for this challenge is to start working out again, lose a few lbs and get in shape again....the muffin top is back and in a bad way....that just won't do...I'll be posting some pics of me in jeans so I know what I looked like a the beginning of this challenge..and then hopefully come October 31 I'll have some pretty good after pics to show too.........

Scat...I'm all aboard!!!!
I know how you feel about losing those last few pounds. I've been eating well and exercising, but I truly believe that I've just been pushing too hard...so, I'm going to stick to this and the BFL Challenge...and hopefully I can be a Sexy Slut for Halloween!!! :)

Well I"m officially done eating for the day....

McCann's Irish Oatmeal with some organic sugar sprinkled on top
coffee

Mcdonalds BBQ snack wrap (stupid choice but I was on the road with my kids)
Ice coffee no sugar

mini dill pickles

minbon

whole wheat farfalle with grated cheese (small bowl)
lettuce

strawberries

And that is all she wrote. I am not eating anything after 7pm from now on....no more late night snacking. No workout except for running around the mall with my kids to get them sneakers. My twelve year old wears a size TEN! I almost fainted......poor kid was wearing a 7 1/2 and didn't tell me his toes were hurting...what a chooch.

My focus right now is not so much weight loss but getting rid of these aggravating gb symptoms....I will probably get to the doctor on Wednesday and hopefully they can order the tests you mentioned NY Lady....

Looking back on today I should have had more water, and skipped that snack wrap.....but it is done..i'll get the kick of this sooner or later.

How is everyonw else doing???????????

I would like to get on board. I'm not done with phen for good, but I am not currently on it and have been off for about 30 days.

Here is what i had today:
B-omelet 1 egg;1/4 c egg beater;1 slice ham (20 cal);ff cheese;onion & bellpepper
L-salad-1 sl ham;ff cheese;onion; lettuce belend;ff balsalmic drsg;ham sl & ff cheese on low cal whole wheat w/lett,onion,pickle;low fat MWL

Still working on my water today. Start weight 153.
S-1 bud light (just really wanted it?)
D-zucchini boat--tom;onion;bellpepper cooked with zucchini and baked in hollowed out zucchini;1 c spagetti (homemade low fat w.smart pasta);1 slice low fat bread & 1/3 piece garlic bread

Would not be bad if I skipped the beer. I did 1.25 hours weeding the garden and that is all my exercise besides cleaning house.

Good morning folks...I'm driving to the city....being at my mother's house means that there will be something fried there. she puts on the act that she's eating so much better now but that fry pan is always filled with oil and there is always somethng fried there, usually chicken. I won't be having any.

I'm not sure what I will be eating today. Last night I succumbed to more minibons and some fritos, well i woke up today throwing up with a bad headache. Serves me right, I will never learn until I'm having surgery.

Well yesterday wasn't a good day because my hubby was off and we always "have fun" together. Fun for us is going out to eat. So we went to Wendy's. I had a single burger with a little bit of fries and an iced tea. For dinner we had beans, potatoes, and green chili. I didn't eat very much though. Just a small bowl.

I'm planning on doing better today. I have just had a nectarine for breakfast.

Well today was stressful to say the least but I got through it okay. Had some dang fritos last night, big mistake. My punishment was headache and throwing up when I woke up. Then it was off to the city with the kids in tow to take my dad to his doctor's appt. I told my mother I needed to eat beets because they were good for the gallbladder so she immediately left for the produce store to buy some fresh ones and she showed me how to make them.

iced coffee

boiled beets with olive oil and garlic
1/2 slice of pizza

salad, olive oil and balsamic vinegar
chicken breast
string cheese

will update with the rest later

I am now off Phen as well. Three weeks ago, I became very ill, and couldn't keep anything down. After several days of nausea and vomitting, and feeling as if every bite I took would get stuck in my chest, only to come back up later, I went to see a gastroenterologist. I found out that my history of gastric ulcers had come back with a vengeance.

The doctor explained that Phen speeds up everything in the body, including acid production in the stomach. I had to have an upper GI endoscopy and I've been taken off of Phen and put on Prilosec. I am having a barium esophagram on Thursday, just to make sure there isn't more serious damage. The doctor explained that I'll need two four month courses of therapy and then maybe, I can resume with Phen. It's not worth it to me, and I would be twenty pounds shy of my goal in eight months.

I am by no means discouraged, it just means that I can no longer rely on Phen for help. I will join the challenge and become healthier without Phen. Wish me luck!

Well today was not good foodwise.

b-lean breakfast pocket
l-small blizzaed (did I mention daughter went back to work at DQ?)
s-quacker low calorie bar
D-pizza 2 good sized slices

I was on my feet most of the day, but no cardio. For some reason the back of my legs have been extremely sore the past couple of days.

Just Kim,nice to meet you. i am from North Texas.

Nice to meet you too, LZ. What I'm finding hard to deal with is keeping the energy up for the work-outs. I just feel so tired all the time now without the Phen on board. I'm still losing, actually I lost seven pounds from all the up-chucking I did, but I don't feel like myself yet. Not having my insides feel like they're on fire has been glorious though.

Good morning ladies...
Had a minor setback yesterday..and just trying to work through it....
Had a pancreatic ultrasound done last week and went in for the "official" results yesterday. Yep, I still have Chronic Pancreatitis (duh..I'll have it forever)...but the part that ****s is that I have to take pancreatic enzymes for the rest of my life...now, this doesn't seem like a huge deal, BUT..I have to take 3 horse pills each time I eat anything just to help with digestion..AND..the doctor said that the most common side effect...WEIGHT GAIN! Since this is something I have to be on forever..and it's my only option, I'm kind of bummed right now!!!

Once you think you have everything all under control and you're eating right and exercising, stupid medications get in the way and pack on unwanted lbs!!!

Ok, I'm done *****ing now....

On a good note though....I am still doing the Body for Life....and It's working out well...
As for eating...ehh...who has time to eat??! I was too busy doing my Fantasy Football Draft last night!!! Woo hoo!!!!

GIRL! I am so glad that you posted this because I have heard of others having GI problems after phen and I didn't think it was a coincidence. It makes sense that phen would speed up acid production. Why shouldn't it? It speeds up everything else in your body? It screws with your adrenal gland, it screws with your metabolism and that in turn screws with your hormonal balance.....I'm not discouraging anyone from taking phen but you are the third or fourth person that had GI problems after phen, and I am the FIFTH person with the liver/gallbladder issues.....It isn't worth it to me anymore either......I'm so glad that I"m off that sauce, for real.

Hey, Scat, you should announce on the main board that this challenge has started in the Challenge room! Where are all those other people who said they would join?

Anyway, I ate a lot yesterday, potatoes and beans for lunch...not healthy, but sure good on the fiber front. Got stuff moving!!! Dinner I had chicken parmesean, but just a small portion, not three pieces of chicken like I used to. BUT, I did drink a whole bunch of water yesterday. I was soooo thirsty.

August 27th, 2008, 01:27 PM
okay benson I will announce it. I know that MOMTO8 is going through a horrible time, her bedroom has been overtaken by fleas and she has tons of bites.....she has to bomb the room now and take all her animals to get dipped.....she had one cat that brought it all into the house when she adopted him.....makes me want to second guess getting an animal....I can't deal with that.......I got enoough mess to clean up without having to worry about infestations.

I am going to get that water down today, I was much better yesterday with water....I didn't wake up today throwing up so I think that I may be getting better, I hope. Im making beets again today.

my exercise for the day will be cleaning up this house.....and a walk on the beach tonight. baby steps.

My exercise is going to be cleaning house too. I have a ton of it!! Lots of vacuuming and I may even mow the lawn for my hubby, who got hurt at work last week. He delivers furniture and got a bad knee injury. I told my husband that once all of our pets are "gone", we will NOT get new ones. We have one dog and one cat left. I love them, but there is SOOOOO much that comes along with having a pet that I don't think people realize.

My stomach feels so much better, if only I could get my energy back. I have less energy now than when I started and I'm almost 40 lbs lighter. I know it's just withdrawal, but continuing with my exercise regimen is hard!!! I don't want to slack off, especially since I'm no longer on Phen.

Fridays are my usual weigh-in days too, so that day is perfect for me.

B:Fiber one bar, banana, 1/2 cup skim milk, 1 bottle water
L:turkey on 7 grain bread w/light mayo and mustard, skim cheese, 100 cal doritos, 1 bottle water
S:sugar free chocolate pudding w/ 100 cal. keebler cookies (yum!)
Work-out: 3.5 miles on elliptical at level 10 resistance, 50 min weight training circuit -2 bottles of water
D:rotisserie chicken, still trying to figure out what else (family is having rice and gravy with the chicken) 1 bottle of water

HI all...

I think I am going to have to be realistic and focus on my health problems rather than losing weight at this time, but I am still going to post here and keep this challenge going for y'all while i get my act together.....I just can't work out now and as far as dieting goes I'm just eating whatever won't make me feel sick...which doesn't seem to be much. Tomorrow I am calling the doctor and telling her no way can I wait until september 11 to re do bloodwork, shoot, I can be dead by then.

JustKim, I haven't been on PHne for twenty days or so, but I'm STILL feeling the withdrawal. Every afternoon I get really tired no matter how much sleep I had...today exhaustion came over me and I had to nap in the late afternoon! I really miss the energy phen gave me. .but really I'm happy to be off it.....I should have stopped sooner.

hi Scat!! my lovely love!! i wish i was as hot as u i freakin swear!!

yes i wanna join! i have been off phen for like a year and a half i think!! lol! i don't think it did a whole lot for me anyway really...and once the hair started falling out like crazy i just couldn't keep taking it!

so i am doing fairly well..up and down like everyone, but over all down. and hey, i'm less than scat which is always my goal! scat i totally agree that your health is most important!! i hope they resolve something with you soon, u sound like u are in misery.

we went vegan a few weeks ago! has been interesting, and we are still getting all the kinks worked out, and of course learning how to cook like that! still doing about 30 min cardio everyday, which i think has been a big benefit...the do something, anything, for as long as you can thought-doesn't have to b at the gym or for hours everyday!! it adds up, really.

now, i will not b able to post everyday, and have to get off right now actually, but will post as much as i can. having surg next week, so will also b off for a while b/c of that, and it will b interesting to see what i can eat for a few weeks after surg.

so anyway, hi!!!

miss u all!!!

i know i s*ck!!! and i am sure scat has said something about that somewhere on here!! hee hee...

oh, yes we are still in wa, never made it to ak, and i don't know whta the next plan is, gonna start a new contract at the same place i am at in oct, but hoping to find some bad winter weather starting in jan...so we will see!! the house in ga is still standing as far as i know!

Trauma you hussy...You can enjoy and gloat weighing three lbs less than me but dont plan on being there for long my love....I'm going to catch up. And you shall always be hotter than I am, especially now that you are getting a tummy tuck, for I cannot compete with a totally flat taut stomach and man made belly button. Please post when you can......you should be spending alot of time recovering so take a lap top to bed with you and tell us all about your surgery glamour puss.

Tomorrow is our first weigh in. I will be counting this weigh in as our starting point since we just joined at different times this week. YAY....IF LZ shows me how I will start making up charts too....my, this is fun. If only I put this much effort into my real job...ROFL................

Today I woke up with no gallbladder headache (hooray) although I am still getting checked out. I need to take my older guy to junior h igh today so he can find his locker and classrooms and see where everything is in the school. (GASP). Of course I have to try and make myself look gorgeous but without really looking like I tried...the "Oh I wake up looking like this" kind of look. All the glamour mommies will be there accompanying their kids and schmoozing. I am in no mood to schmooze. YES, I gained weight this summer and probably some bloat too, judge me when my gall bladder isn't bursting......I hate being checked out and sized up but I have to admit I do the same thing.....I kid you not when i tell you that no fat people live in my town...ROFL.....what the hell are these women doing? Don't they eat? Are they all on phen? I wonder.............

Okay so enough of that. Just wanted to give a shout out this morning, which you all a skinny day and remember to report back to us at the end of the day. I have a date now with the straightening iron......

toodles!

what are the symptoms of your pancreatitis? Im so sorry that you are bumming about taking these meds....maybe there is something else taht you can do, try and get another opinion.......try and fight the side effect of weight gain from the meds.....you can do it!!

Scat - here is some information about Chronic Pancreatitis...and just an FYI - I developed it from previous acute attacks, not alcohol...(i'm allergic to alcohol..so, that's obviously not the problem...)
Also, the reason why I didn't lose an extreme amount of weight is because of my Adrenal Exhaustion and Food Allergies...they make you "puffy" and bloated!!!

What causes chronic pancreatitis?

The most common cause of chronic pancreatitis is long-term excessive alcohol consumption. There is a direct relationship between the amount of alcohol consumed and the risk of developing chronic pancreatitis.

Other causes include:

high levels of calcium in the blood

abnormalities in anatomy which are usually present at birth

cystic fibrosis

high blood fats (hypertriglyceridaemia)

in rare cases, some drugs can cause pancreatitis

in a number of cases no specific cause can be identified, a condition known as idiopathic pancreatitis.

What are the symptoms of chronic pancreatitis?

The symptoms are very variable.

Pain occurs in most patients at some stage of the disease. This may vary in intensity from mild to severe. It may last for hours or sometimes days at a time and may require strong painkillers to control it.

It often radiates through to the back and can sometimes be relieved by crouching forward. It is commonly brought on by food consumption and so patients may be afraid to eat. It is also commonly severe through the night.

The pain varies in nature, being gnawing, stabbing, aching or burning, but it tends to be constant and not to come and go in waves. It may sometimes burn itself out but can remain an ongoing problem.

The mechanism of the pain is unclear. It seems to be related to pancreatic activity since it is frequently caused by food, especially fatty or rich foods.

Some patients will have obstruction to the small ducts in the pancreas by small stones, and this is thought to cause back pressure and destruction of the pancreas. There is no relationship between the severity of the pain and the severity of the pancreatic inflammation.

The pain is often difficult to diagnose and can be mistaken for pain caused by virtually any other condition arising from the abdomen or lower chest.

It can be difficult to distinguish pain caused by pancreatitis from pain caused by a peptic ulcer, irritable bowel syndrome, angina pectoris, gallstones.

Diabetes is also a common symptom which affects over half of all patients with long-standing chronic pancreatitis.

Long-standing chronic inflammation results in scarring of the pancreas which destroys the specialised areas of the pancreas which produce insulin.

Deficiency of insulin results in diabetes. Diabetes causes thirst, frequent urination and weight loss. It may be possible in the early stages of chronic pancreatitis to treat the diabetes with tablets, but in the late stage of chronic pancreatitis, insulin injections are usually needed.

Diarrhoea occurs in just under half of patients. Normally, all the fat in food is broken down by enzymes from the pancreas and small intestine, and the fat is then absorbed in the small bowel. With a reduced level of digestive enzymes the fat is not absorbed. When the fat reaches the large intestine, it is partially broken down by the bacteria in the colon. This produces substances which irritate the colon and result in diarrhoea. The undigested fat also traps water in the faeces, resulting in pale, bulky, greasy stools which are difficult to flush away. They may make the water in the toilet look oily, smell offensive and may be associated with bad wind.

Weight loss occurs in virtually all patients with chronic pancreatitis. It is due to failure to absorb calories from food, and diabetes may also contribute to this. In addition, patients may be afraid to eat because eating brings on the pain. Depression is also common in chronic pancreatitis and this can also reduce appetite and lead to weight loss.

Jaundice (when patients develop yellow eyes and skin) occurs in about a third of patients with chronic pancreatitis. It is usually due to damage to the common bile duct which drains bile from the liver to the duodenum.

The common bile duct normally passes though the head of the pancreas. In long-standing chronic pancreatitis, the scarring in the head of the pancreas narrows the common bile duct.

Some degree of narrowing may occur in up to half the patients with chronic pancreatitis but when the narrowing is severe, it prevents the bile draining from the liver into the duodenum. It then spills back into the blood and the patient's eyes and skin become yellow. In addition, the stools become paler (since bile makes the stools brown) and the urine becomes dark (because it contains more bile than normal).

Vomiting after meals is a less common symptom but can occur as a result of severe pain. It may also be due to duodenal ulceration, which is often connected with chronic pancreatitis. In rare cases, the duodenum may be narrowed as a result of scarring secondary to chronic pancreatitis.

Vitamin and mineral deficiency. Prolonged passage of stools containing fat can result in low levels of calcium and magnesium in the blood. In addition, some vitamins may not be absorbed properly. This includes vitamins D and A.

Good morning ladies!!! Well I did good last night, despite my total sweets and chocolate splurge yesterday :(
I got home, walked/ran 2 & 1/2 miles, split a sausage/cheese plate with DH and CRASHED!!
I had too much sugar yesterday, but my ******* just kept on eating it! UGH!!!

SO, this morning I got up, did my tae bo ab work, got started on my water consumption and i've had 2 hard boiled eggs and my coffee, and now I continue on my water!! :)

Now, I tell you, i'll be having dinner with a friend tonight... and of all places, at a mexican restaurant.... I know I don't have to tell you what all this will entail lol

Mmmm, Mexican....

HI everyone!!! Nice to see so many people coming on board.

Scat, I really hope you get to feeling better soon. Do you think it could be all the stress with your dad that's making you sick? Take care of yourself!

Let's see...what did I eat yesterday???

Okay, I had a tiny bit of biscuits and gravy that my husband made. I mean TINY. It just looked good and I wanted a bite. I ate half of the leftover chicken parmesean. Coffee and a biscotti. I had a small pepsi because I had a headache and was feeling like my blood sugar majorly dropped, so I had that...and then for dinner I had ONE small ravioli and some corn/zuchini/squash thing.

I did OK on the water, but not great...not good either...just okay.

IT IS FRIDAY LADIES! ding ding ding**** Post your weight and if I muster up enough strength today I shall put it all down , maybe not in a chart because I am a computer dunce, but put it in some organized fashion. I am 136.8 today, but only because I did not eat ANYTHING yesterday, yes you heard correctly......I shall post my ER experience below for those that are interested although I'm starting to sound like a narcisisstic hypochondriac..is there a support group for that?

Scat~ KNOW that i'm thinkin about ya girl, you are in my thoughts and prayers and YES, I wanna know what happened in the ER!!!!!
My starting weight is about 149... I weighed myself at work (fully clothed of course) and it said 152, well at home scale (aka me nekkid) is always 3 pounds lighter.

So, i'm at 149... which means i've gained 2 pounds since being off phen.... HOWEVER, I did measure myself this morning and I have lost a combined total of 2 & 1/2 inches off my mid-section!!!!! WOOT WOOT!!!! :D

Took my son on a tour of his new junior high and just felt sickly as we walked around the crowded noisey halls......headache was bothering me more than anything else, and I knew that today was the day I was going to ahve to get help. Saw a friend in the hallway who is a nurse and told her that i was going to the ER after this......she could see in my face that I was sickly, not pale just sickly.....this meant leaving my kids home ALONE which I hate to do....went to the ER and had a decent doctor. I told him about my phen use in case that was somehow related to what was going on but he didn't seem too concerned after I told him all I lost was ten lbs on it.....He asked me what I was worried about? At this point, Im not too freaking sure........I had the following tests:
bloodwork looking at everything including hepatiis and liver function
Two ultrasounds of gall bladder
cat scan of my head to see if there was source of headache
ALL CAME BACK NORMAL! For this I spent the day there. I have pain in the gallbladder area when you push down on it so I know that something is up, but if nothing shows on tests , then what? And my liver function which was totally out of wack a few weeks ago is now normal? Doctor said that whatever happened could be over....I could have gotten some type of virus that effectedt he liver but is normal now...I could have gallstones which are like sand and wont[ show up on the ultrasounds.....so My choices now are to go to a gastro doc and get further testing..the kind with dye......
They gave me a pain medicine which I kept saying that I didn't need and it made me StONED and sickly....so the nurse comes in and say sokay we're dischargingyou, we need this room...I'm like WHAT? I feel horrible! I'm in worse shape now than when I got here!!! she didn't care.....my doctor ordered something for the nausea from the medicine, so now I had three medicines through my body.....it was horrible....they put me in a wheelchair and left me in the hallway...I kept saying I couldn't drive home and there was noone to drive me home, I couldn't lift my head ......and I was going to throw up....the nurse told me she was busy.....FOCK YOU! You're charging my insurance card just as much as anyone else here.....You people made me sicker and now you're treating me like some piece of garbage leaving me in the hallway for dead......it was terrible..I hear some biatch say 'WHAT IS SHE STILL DOING HERE"....she comes over to me and I told her that I was discharged when I can't even lift my head so you tell me......I felt like saying , when i'm able to get up out of this chair i'm going to beat the crap out of you, then show you how to wear makeup correctly because you can raise the dead with that Mary Kay nightmare on your face......

Okay well that is my story. I finally got up and with an angel watching drove home and collapsed into bed with my clothes on......the kids were alive and my husband came home and fed them something for dinner.....I woke up with my clothes on and my contacts still on my eyeballs. I 'm alive...I still have the headache but I am so done with trying to find out what is wrong with me. I'm just going to really try and take care of myself today and drink tons of water to flush this poison out that they injected in me yesterday........I'm going to see Spamalot tomorrow if it KILLS ME......even if I have to be rolled in on a stretcher.......OH and the good news is that I ate absolutely nothing yesterday and now weigh less for the challenge..YAY....something good came out of this experience.

Scat -

First of all...I am so sorry that you are going through all of this...there is nothing worse than when doctors and nurses blow you off and make you feel like you are wasting their time!!!!
But let me tell you this...DON'T GIVE UP!!!!
When I first got sick...I had 3 ER visits and I had the EXACT same outcome...they told me that there was nothing wrong with me...and look at me now!!

PLEASE ...make that appointment for a GI doctor and get the CCK Hida Scan done (the test with the dye)...you need resolution!!! It's worth it... trust me!
you don't sound like a hypochondriac, you sound like me....someone who's not feeling well who just wants answers!!!!

After being persistent and not giving up, I learned that I needed my gall bladder out, have sphincter of oddi dysfunction and now chronic pancreatitis. I would never be close to pain free if I had listened to the first set of doctors who I saw for care. You are the only one who knows your body...listen to it!!!

Go see a GI specialist...and get the Hida Scan!..and if that comes back negative, at least you will have peace of mind!!!

Ok, I'll stop begging!!! :)

No..you aren't begging...LOL....I promise you i will look into the gastro doc ....i want to make sure all is okay and Iknow that I am not a hypochondriac and making this stuff up.....there is just so much that will show up on a regular ultrasound.....obviously i have no gigantic ping pong sized ball gallstones so this is something else entirely.......i'm confused as to why my liver functin tests would be normal n ow when just a week before they wre so out of range.........but that is me, the medical mystery...LOL......It is labor day weekend so no way i'll be getting in with a GI doc soon anyway but i'll make some calls today, unfortunately I need a referral from my primary care doctor.

I had the same deal after having my DS... I had no stones either, but did have what my doctor referred to as "sludge". But mine DID show up in the ultrasound.
You have got to get yourself a doctor that CARES!!! I'm glad you're not giving up!
My doctor, is a SAINT!!! I love that woman to death!!! Find one of those!! lol That not only has an amazing bedside manner, but also actually gives a damn about the person paying to be taken care of!!!
i'm so sorry to hear about you being treated like such crap! What a bunch of *****s!!!

Dang Scat! You worry me!!!

I weighed in at 144.5. I lost about 0.7 pounds. That's A LOT for me! I did eat Red Lobster yesterday, no bread, and crab legs, which are LOW CARB! Ha! And they made me sick so I was in the bathroom most the night. (ICKY).

I heard about "sludge" ..what did you do to fix that? did you have your gb taken out...

because of my sinus headache symptoms this could be more like a reflux that happens when you can't get that bile out the way you should becasue ducts are clogged.....momto8 had and has the same exact thing...she knows all about it and has been more helpful to me than the dang doctors.....
I'm glad that I went to the ER because atleast now we know it isn't something obvious and I had a cat scan of my brain done too and was happy to k now that there's a brain in there...:) Sometimes I have my doubts....

one step at a time.......

OH and i had an "elimination" and actually lost a lb. I'm going better now than when I was doing all kinds of cleanses and taking miralax...so i'm a happy camper for now....atleast that is going well for me

No, oddly enough, it just passed, and I don't mean like a gall stone either (OUCH) I've never had to go thru that..
No, this was also right around the time when I was doing atkins, like HARDCORE atkins... for about 2 months, I LIVED off meat cheese & eggs, and water... dropped about 20+ pounds with a quickness too! :D
But it really did a number on my body, my triglycerides(sp) went thru the roof, my gallbladder made me sick as a dog and I had to have a colonoscopy at the ripe old age of 23 or 24 (can't really remember) the colonoscopy turned up some inflammation around where my large intestine met my colon... Doctor told me to back off on nuts and atkins in general, which I did... that's when I just went back to eating healthier and... oh what's that stuff called.... um... oh yea EXERCISE!!! :p
lol

Once I got me healthier, it all just went away...
Oh they did give me meds to take for when my stomach started spasming, but I ended up only taking a few and haven't taken it since :)
My issues made me sick out of "both ends" I was SO miserable....

So, focus on taking care of you Scat girl!
And yea, lol I've lost about a pound just from a good movement myself :p lol

Scat, I went through a period of 5-6 months of gastric problems. This was about a year and a half ago. I even got off phen for three months at the time to make sure it was not causing my problems. All of the tests came back negative. I have a great GI Doc, want his number?LOL I ended up on Nexium for about 14 months. After about four months on nexium it started to get better. Felt a lot better around months 7-8 and tried to quit the nexium because it was so expensive.Resumed taking it and finally was able to quit after 14 months and all better. Who knows the ladies are right, listen to your body.

Weigh in the same 153. I am off on vacation through Monday. Will hit it hard next week.

Ok, the dreaded weigh in....
So, I still get B-12 shots for my fatigue...well, I went in yesterday and I asked the girl to take my measurements and to weigh me....

NOT GOOD!!! I'm UP 3.4 lbs!!!! AND...I gained .5 inches in my arms, 1 inch in my chest, and .5 inches in the thighs..my hips stayed the same.

Ok, here is the only thing I can think of...I'm doing the Body for Life Challenge...so, I'm lifting weights three times a week...sticking to the low carb diet....all of the yadda yadda yadda...

I'm hoping that it's all just muscle mass...and that my muscles are a bit swollen?!?! Oh, and plus, It's the week before TOM...

But 3.4 lbs?!? Please be muscle weight!! I was soo pissed off!!!!
I'm a little better now...but damn....here I thought I was doing the right thing and now I wonder.....

So, even though I stuck to the plan, I'm UP in lbs this week...sorry ladies!

thanks for sharing your experience with me ....I truly believe this is all abecause of the crappy way I was eating since finding out my dad was sick...I was going long periods during hte day of not eating..and then eating high fat foods.....not touching salad or veggies or fruit..so I was diong a low carb vresion of atkins yet eating too much bread with it...NOT GOOD.......I felt fine in florida but as soon as I got back and had to see my dad in the hospital again it started......right after that slimquick junk.....no exaggeration. I'm sure that didn't help....I abused my body with phen, eating horribly and doing stupid cleanses......now they're saying my brain is screwed up too with calcifications..hopefully my boss will call me back about that, she sees MS patients and is used to seeing cat scan reports...............

I shall overcome...You skanks need me too much over here.....gotta crack the whip and keep us all in line...LOL.....

Hey Scat! As I was reading about your horrible experience in the ER, I was saying to myself, poor baby, you went through a whole lot of craziness, so unfair ... I also have had situations where I was feeling physically horrible, only to have the doctor put me through a bunch of tests, and then, after waiting forever in the waiting room, tell me that there was nothing wrong with me, and I knew that something was wrong!!! Was glad to see that you promise to continue with further, more sensitive testing; it's true, sonograms cannot detect everything, it's just basically a general scanning. If your body feels well, then you're well, but if your body is sick, then there's something wrong going on inside!! Thinking about you and praying for you; feel better gurlfriend ...

I hope I'm not too late to join!

I have been off phen since April and haven't lost a pound since then! I need some motivation to get going. A challenge could be just what I need!

I weighed myself this morning, 142.5. Not too bad, but please take into consideration that I'm still trying to lose baby weight...my children are 16 months old (how long can I call it baby weight? I guess it's just a part of me now). My goal is to get back into my pre-pregnancy clothes, I'm tired of wearing the same 3 outfits! I refuse to buy any more clothes because I WILL lose the weight!

And I want a sexy halloween costume!

I look forward to posting and reading your posts! I know we can do it! Who needs phen anyway?

I wish I could get more phen :p

Sorry, I'm posting so late. My mom is evacuating from the SE coast of Texas/SW coast of Louisiana for the hurricane so everything is crazy. I'm down 5lbs but I'm not sure that's from exercise and diet, I think it's from the issues I had with my stomach. ANYWAY, I'm claiming it!!!

B:fiber one bar, banana, two bottles of water
L:2 bottles of water,cheez-it,dried tropical fruits ( I was at the car dealership all day)
D:popcorn, fish, two bottles of water

I have got to improve my eating habits. My stomach feels so much better, I'm getting a little out of control.

Yanie, since we are two of the more voluptuous girls of the group and we weigh exactly the same, I challenge you to a mini-challenge. I'm not sure what your schedule is like, and I may be evacuating from a hurricane, but...here it is...

Work-out: At least 4x this week
Cals: Take in no more than 1500cals and drink at least 6 bottles of water/day
Encouragement: Tell yourself you look wonderful everytime you pass a mirror:D

Challenge ends Friday with weigh-in

Anyhow I ate

eggs benedict (fancy schmancy restaurant for brunch)
2 sips of a bloody mary
coffee

piece of dark chocolate

feeling bloated but I'm sure it was the chocolate, that is on my list of foods that I cannot eat...dangit...

B:Prilosec w/a bottle of water (Crazy acid reflux this am)

hi all!!

glad that many are doing well, and more happy that all are trying!!

scat...what can i say baby? i am so totally unsurprised by your er visit. sad but true. the number one reason people visit er in the country is abd pain of some type...the percentage that we diagnose someone...i would say less than 50%. many er's will not even give u pain meds or anything that will make u woozy without confirming that u have a driver. sorry that u had no one to call!! that makes me sad too. i know of many many people that had problems that did not show up on tests! gallbladder problems especially...i agree to eveyone's ideas of keep seeking help!! don't wait! when ur gallbladder is kinda clogged or something, stuff gets backed up into the liver and that causes elevated bld tests.

as to the head ct, wish they would have told u more!! i agree with your theory of, don't freak until there is something to freak about! very important as u well know that stress so negatively impacts the body. u can always go to the hosp and get a copy of your medical record/er visit. that way u will have the radiologists read on the ct on hand-n the bld work- when u see the doc...u said he was coming back on tues?

remember that if is was that bad they would tell u to immediately go to an er!

hugs to u sweetness...

and u are gonna beat me in the short term, freak, b/c i am gonna have surg and gain all that swelling wt! hooker-ho.

i have been eating decently, one planned bad meal on friday, but that's it for the last few weeks. i try to get in at least 3 pieces of fruit and 3-4 serving of veggies. we have things like tofu scramble for breakfast, i eat a lot of boca burgers with soy cheese for dinner or soy sausages. last night i had some organic wheat pasta, homemade marinara sauce, and home made soy meatballs. so so nummy. i also tend to eat natural pb with my fruit so i am fuller longer.

i am trying to kick soda, but at least have given up diet as aspartame is the devil. so still having one soda a day right now. trying to find a substitute!!

i don't think that i put a starting wt out there, last week i was up 2 pounds but today i am down 3...so that means a 1 pound loss for the week. friday will b my last possible lost wt weigh in for a while since that is d-day (surg) and i know my wt is gonna take time to stabilize. but it will b fun to come here with my buddies and watch my wt go down and stabilize! i am hoping without the belly that i will at least drop a few pounds just from that!

luv

Dang, I thought that I had committed to join this challenge but don't see my reply.

Scat, I am so worried about your girl. I just said a prayer for you. I must say though that you are one hot momma on the streets of NY.

I weighed in this morning just to see what damage I did over the long weekend. We visited the inlaws in GA & mil had a red velvet cake. It was so good & I had 2 large slices over the weekend. My weight is 154.

This morning I have had apples & cinnamon oatmeal with turkey sausage.
My mid-morning snack was a 100 calorie bar, well okay, (2) 100 calorie bars. I have got to stop eating those things because I just can't ever eat just one.

My morning workout was 20 minutes on the elliptical, jumped rope (200x) & 30 minutes of weight training.

Lunch is grilled chicken breast w/ broccoli florets.

I am very sick today and have been for most the weekend. Bad sinus infection. I guess the good news about that is I haven't eaten hardly at all the past few days, and don't feel like eating today either. I HAVE to eat something to take my antibiotics, so this morning I had a bowl of oatmeal and for lunch a couple bites of zuchini bread.

Tarheelgirl...good to see you. I was hoping you would come on soon. I'm sorry I am no longer on the Christmas Challenge. I just have way too much going on in my life and I couldn't keep up with all that. Good luck to you though if you are still on there.

Hi Mrs. B! To me, yardwork is a lot more exercise than most things you can do at the gym.

Hope everyone is having a great day and a great week.

Hey girl!! Hate to hear that you're sick :(
I HATE being sick, but I also know that I hardly eat while sick, so it kinda makes me happy in the long run :p
But I do hope you feel better!

Mrs. B. So hard to bake a treat and not indulge, even if it is not for us, right? I woudn't worry about it, it still looks to me like you were pretty active this weekend.

Benson, Sorry to hear you aren't feeling well........I know all to well about that...

LZ...I just got home from a weekend away myself and have a ton to do also..school starts tomorrow! YIKES!! Atleast YOU have a list, I'm not even up to that yet!!!!!!

Tarheel: I totally need some red velvet cake myself. I made it once and it was crappy...and it isn't the kind of thing that you can buy in NY......so I need to get down south and have someone make it for me...any takers????

Trauma...I have so much to tell you and wish I could just call you instead...I'm going to get carpal tunnel catching up with you...LOL....glad to see you back and how you spend time on the computer while you convalesce talking to us.

JustKim, I pray for the safety of your mother.....I am glad Gustav was not as bad as was anticipated......although evacuation is traumatic no matter what I'm sure.

I have a huge list of things to do before tomorrow and I need to do it all with a headache...NICE! Such is my life. Spent a few days away and needless to say eating right was the least of my concerns although I was very mindufl not to eat things that would upset my gallbladder.....I managed to stay headache free for a few days until the journey home, I just don't do well with traveling AT ALL. That is done though and it feels good to be home...I THINK! lol....

I finally got around to reading the Body for Life book and Im pretty psyched about starting the program next Monday......I think it is what I need right now to get me back into the swing of eating right an working out. Kids go back to school t omorrow so hopefully we will be in some kind of groove soon which will make it easier to get workouts in.......I am sad seeing summer go but it was a stressful one...I pray the Fall/winter brings better things for my family.

I'm happy to see everyone being mindful despite all that they were tempted with this holiday weekend. When it comes to diet and exercise do not put pressure on yourself to be perfect!! that is a recipe for failure!!! Cut yourself some slack......know that celebrating and being with family usually means a treat or two. This is okay, life is to be enjoyed, food is to be enjoyed...the problem is we then continue the celebration for a week, a month , heck a whole year...lets just celebrate life every dang day! Right? WRONG!

Seeing what gluttony has done to people I love makes me all the more intent on not letting food control me or my life. We can literally eat our way to an early grave......eat our way to diabetes, heart disease and a plethora of other ailments that could be prevented with the right nutrition and healthy lifestyle. Let's not be a statistic ladies.....lets not let life do what it wants with US, lets grab it by the balls and show it who is BOSS! Whne I'm done raising kids I don't want to be scheduling my free time around doctor's appointments and taking five or six different meds a day........We cannot control when illness is going to kill us.....however we can do whatever we can to try and be healthier and give ourselves the best chance at a long and happy life...

Whew! I'll get off my soap box now and go do some wash. I think I had WAY too much time on my hands to think this past weekend! LOL.....But I am so tired of not feeling well and talking about what I SHOULD be doing...time to just start doing it......right now though I need to pop something for this headache...LOL...I hope I was of some motivation to some of you......Lets get this party started!

THIS WEEK"S CHALLENGE: LOG IN YOUR WORKOUTS!

Scat, my girl, you are ALWAYS such an inspiration!!!! You always know what to say, and WHEN to say it!!!
Me, myself, I feel TOM at my door (finally after being 2 months MIA) and well you already know what I did over the weekend... I won't even mention what I did today...
I do however, vow to walk/jog my 2 & 1/2 miles this evening, but I know that dinner will not be "healthy" as it's coming out of a box...
However, one thing that I HAVE stayed completely true to, is my water consumption!!! Aside from coffee, I have ONLY consumed water, and that is how it will stay :D
So, altho I am not necessarily eating as I should, I AM exercising as I should :) And I feel good that I have not fallen completely off the wagon, i'm just draggin my feet a lil lol :p

Hope you all have a good night :)

Thanks, Scat, for your words of wisdom. You always have a way of putting things into perspective. I love that about you!

Oh, and thanks, Mrs. B, for mentioning water. I haven't drank any of that stuff for a few days!!!!

Sooo, does walking up the stairs count as exercise? I have this major upper respiratory thing going on and when I walked up the stairs, I was TOTALLY out of breath. That's about all I can do! But, I did go to Wal-Mart and lift some heavy bags of groceries. F**ckers didn't have my ** ready and refused to rush it even though I was THERE waiting for it. Arrrrgh, the crap we put up with for low prices!!

Benson, now is not the time to worry about working out.....I used to really get annoyed at people who came to my classes sick but wanted to workout anyway......first of all you can infect others that are working out near you....secondly you are running your already run down body into the crapper MORE....a little head cold is one thing but if you have a bad respiratory infection stay the frig away from the gym and away from exercise for a while, stretch but don't exert yourself.......bad enough we still have to do housework when we're sick....

Walmarts in this part of the country really stink.......we don't have groceries, just a few aisles of canned, boxed goods and some lame frozen section. I get jealous when i hear about other people's walmarts...LOL...how lame is that? I have walmart envy!! LOL

I feel pretty good today but my workout will be some hard core scrubbing of bathrooms....I let things go around here, probably because I am tired of cleaning around boxes! How depressing that I am moving back into the house I never got to move the fock out of ..don't get me wrong I love this house, it is really cute.....but when you have your heart set on your dream home (Tara) and the owners fock you over after almost going into contract it really does a head job on you. I' spent my summer caring for a sick father and living in limbo. I know, y'all are tired of hearing about it...I just want my life back and it is so frustrating.

Okay time to clean. Have a good day ladies and I'm proud of you all for doing this without Phen.......we ain't skerred.....

hugs

Scat!
I guarantee you that once you start the Body for Life plan you will be addicted! I fricken love it!
The leg workouts are KILLER...I couldn't walk for nearly 5 days last week! It was the best feeling ever!!

Also, I decided to go out and get one of those BMI Scales. I have to say, it's addictive! I catch myself weighing myself....then drinking a bottle of water and weighing myself again to see if my hydration level changed. I feel like i'm 12 years old again! :)

Anyway, Kudos to everyone for sticking to being Phen Free! I know it's tough and it's easy to slip, but I think as long as we continue to hold ourselves accountable to each other, then we will be less inclined to cheat!!!

Happy Hump Day! :)

Hi Benson, I'm glad to see you here too.

Scat, i actually make a heckuva a red velvet cake myself. I only make it during the Thanksgiving & Christmas holiday. I have to send you a piece.

My day started off with crappy eating. Aunt Jemima's have these new mini blueberry sausage thingys. Its actually mini link sausages wrapped in blueberry pancake mix. My 7 yr old daughter usually loves them, but decided she wanted honey nut cheerios. So who ends up eating them? Yes, I did. 3 of these are 260 calories. I usually eat pretty low cals for breakfast.

For lunch I just had a chopped bbq sandwich & a strawberry milkshake that my co-worker picked up for the office. Milk & especially milkshakes upsets my tummy. I guess I am a glutton for punishment. Dinner will probably be crappy too because my husband isn't traveling this week & tonight he wants to go out to eat.

OK, at least I got in a great run. I ran for 30 minutes & did a 10 minute cool down.

Yep girl ! I'm in a 13/14 pants. I'm still wearing a size 16 in dresses though because my bust is still HUGE! I went from a 40DDD to a 38DD but the zipper of a size 14 dress will not zip past those puppies (it's fine in the mid section though). But thanks for the compliment. It's so good to see everyone again. You look fierce honey! Yes, I am praying on these last few pounds ESPECIALLY MY STOMACH it is the DEVIL!!! For whatever reason my stomach does not what to leave me. I am still doing tons of crutches so I know it's an ab or 2 under this big roll. LOL! I finally broke down and hired a trainer because I couldn't move the scale. So, hopefully that works. But thanks again and I'm glad to be apart of the Diva Crew!

If you can afford a trainer that is the best gift you can give yourself......trainers push us harder than we would push ourselves and exercise the right way makes the difference, especially with the last 10-20 lbs. Also the trainer shows us how to do things correctly, pay attention so that you can work out on your own with the same form.......I look forwrad to hearing about your progress....:)

Trauma, I pray that your surgery goes well tomorrow, I'll be thinking about you.

Don't even fret me beating you, I gained it all back and then some..........

hotel? I guess this hospital is far from you? Are you going to stay the night in the hospital or is it outpatient?

My doctor didn't refer me to a neuro, she wants to see me first and she is going to order an MRI. I am going to ask to go to a neuro. I am going to a gastro in a few weeks and then starting up with a new primary care physician. My doctor wouldn't tell me anything over the phone about the cat scan, I learned more from people on here than from her , now that is pretty sad. I'm not going to worry too much since calcification happens to all of us as time goes on, but at the same time I want to make sure all bases are covered and i'm not in some kind of pre cancer stage or have MS. The headaches are not as severe anymore thank God, although I did one yesterday afternoon. thanks for asking.

I have one of my doctor's appts today. I was up until 3:00am thinking about it. Send over some positive vibes....everyone have a lovely day...i won't be on the puter much but I look forward to logging in tonight and seeing how my girls did.

Good morning ladies. See, I take one day off (yesterday) and I missed out on being a part of the conversation! Wish I could've joined in. Or should I say "butted" in! :o

Well, after being sick all week I thought I would've lost more than I did. I only lost 0.5 pounds...but you gotta remember. I did not eat much all week. No candy bars, no pop, no ice cream....just normal food. But I do think I know why. I didn't drink hardly any water. I have a really bad sore throat so it hurts to drink.

So, my official weigh in for today is 144 lb.

I am going to add my .02 though. Scat...I love NYC. We used to live in PA, near the Poconos, and we were pretty poor then. But we would still make an effort to drive to the city any chance we got. It would be awesome if we could ever all get together.

MrsB. I went to TN last year. We spent a week in Chattanooga and a day in Nashville. My husband has some family that lives there so we spent the 4th of July there. It was great. All legal fireworks!! I'm sure we'll be back some day. (So is one of those two the largest city?) I'm guessing it's Nashville, but it could also be Memphis.)

NY L8DY. I glanced at your picture and thought you looked like Ann Hathaway. Do you ever get told that?

Well, I gotta end this now. Baby is crying and I'm just ignoring him while I type real fast!

Well...chances are...men wouldn't eat the low-fat!! LOL
So, if you were layin' in bed eatin' the regular ones, you'd have to share!!!

Yeah, I really think the BFL is a great plan. I gained weight first..because of the build up of acid in my muscles..but once that went away I started to see the definition! :)

Thanks for the compliment on the pic. That's a pic of me and my niece at the Inner Harbor in Baltimore. I was about 165 in that pic. (and for i82much, this was when my Adrenal Fatigue was at it's WORST..I looked like H-E-Double Hockey Sticks) :)

I'm in the lowest point in TN, both regional & geometric (that's why it's called the armpit, that and the fact that it stinks! lol )

Ok, so today I have not eaten ONE morsel of "bad" food!! No cookies, chocolate, NOTHIN!!!
I won't lie, it's HARD!!!! everytime I think about putting junk in my mouth, I either take a big gulp of water or put a fresh piece of sugar free gum in my mouth lol
So far i've had 2 hard boiled eggs, and a carb & sugar control yogurt, water and coffee :D
God give me strength!!!! lol

I've been missing you too, MrsB! But, I do love all the pics everyone has. Your boys are soooo cute (ALL OF YOUR BOYS). Scat, I was so happy to see you posted a pic of your son! I just wanna pinch your little boys' faces! I've been looking for a pic of myself to post, but I must be going through a low self-esteem moment because I HATE all of my pictures! I haven't eaten at all today. Nothing looks good!

LOL! That is sooo funny!! EVERYONE thinks that I look like Anne Hathaway!! Heck, one time someone stopped me on the street when I was home in NY and asked me for my autograph...I was like WTF??!!

At my last place of work, I had someone do a facial comparison of myself and Anne Hathaway and there was a 95% match!! Kind of scary...
So, if only I could get my body to look like hers then I would move to Hollywood and become her body double!! :)

Wishing you the best!!! HUGS!!!

Eh, I skip the J, but then again, I buy the peanut butter with honey... I know, it's "bad" but it's sooo yummy!!!
And it's what I eat when i'm BAD hungover lol

Well, I settled for a bologna sandwich. And not just ANY bologna sandwich. This is one of my "freaky" food cravings. I put bologna, then a thin layer of mustard, then Pace picante sauce, (has to be pace), then a few skinny pickle slices, then a layer of Ruffles potato chips. I looove that sandwich.

Well, I hope you guys have a great weekend. I'm going to Pueblo all weekend. It's my grandmother's and my mom's birthday, so we're going to go down there and spend some time. I'll probably be bad because Pueblo has the BEST Mexican food in the world. They have these tacos called Chicken tacos on white. Wow...are they to DIE for. So next week I'm sure my numbers will be way up.

And Mrs. B. I think I know where you live, which city. At least it's closer to Colorado than Nashville is!

See you guys on Monday!!!

Hello everyone! I lost 0.5 pounds this week. I didn't try as hard as I could have. I probably gained 5 lbs. today when my co-worker brought in a box of Krispy Kreme donuts...I can't resist them! I've asked them repeatedly not to bring that stuff in, but they do it anyway to torture me! I just need more willpower.

I hope everyone has a successful week!

I am at 153.2 but heck I can hardly call .4 lbs a loss. i have had the day from hell! At least I didn't over indulge. it's 12:54 AM & I am wanting to snack. I only had cheerios with 1% lowfat milk this morning. I literally have not had time to eat between my car accident this afternoon & coming home to prep for Hurricane Hanna who has made a turn into my direction.

Scat, so whats the deal? Good news, I hope.

Benson, have fun this weekend.

NY L8DY, you are kicking butt & taking names. Hmm, maybe I need to look into B4L.

MrsB, cute suit hotmama!

OMG, Mommyoftwins, Krispy Kreme donuts are sinful. I can never have just one, which is the reason why i can't even look in that direction when I pass by. My husband will pull over if he sees the hot sign on.

The headaches are not as severe anymore thank God, although I did one yesterday afternoon. thanks for asking.

the surg is across the sound from me just outside of seattle-didn't wnt to have to take the ferry back, etc just after surg. yes yes everything went fine!! db is waiting on me hand and foot in the hotel, we will get the kids back on sunday and go to a vaca house for about 4 days after that. yes, outpt. so happy to hear that u are going to a gi doc! and i hope the new doc is better...

i think it would b great to get an mri first, so u have everythig in hand when u see neuro...getting an accurate dx would b faster. but, see what the wait is to get into neuro!! it might b a while and better to schedule now and have ur mri while u are waiting.

hi ladies! i am gonna say a pound down this week, however that was weighing on thurs since they didn't weigh me on fri and i don't have my home scale with me. i can't stand it and am thinking of asking the hotel if they have a sccale!! hey, they had a wheelchair!

surg went fine, woke up quick, and if i dont stay on the pain meds the muscle repair like i did a million sit ups, hurts like a beyotch. they took off 6 pounds of skin and my ab muscles were separated 15 cm! they were all amazed it was so big and the doc didnt think they were even separated b 4 surg~ guess u got to get in their to know for sure.

i want to say that i am 2 pounds down cause i was close to that on thurs, then could only have clear liquids all that day.

glad to hear that everyone still has a great attitude! motivation people, its the key. i have to say that since going vegan my desire to eat crap has gone down, if i want something salty i have veggie chips, sweet-soy ice cream. so much of junk food has ick and chemical etc in it that i both cant and don't want it! i have seen myself consistenly lose since i started about 3 weeks ago. here's to all sticking to eating cleanly! no matter how u eat!!

will post later and put a pic up if i can figure out how, never done that b 4...will it matter that i am half naked? might have to send u all a link to the place that i post all the pics...

Good morning Divas.....I think the emotional and physical stuff from this past week caught up with me and i was in bed at 10pm last night, woke up at 9:35am. Apparantly we had alot of wicked rain last night.....I had aunt flow with has caused me to lose a little more weight, darnit but weigh in was yesterday...still mentally that does me a world of good because I really thought I was on my way to gaining back all the weight I lost. I have no been on phen in over a month and I haven't gained a ton of weight like I thought I would have, basically im stagnating at the same place, but it really opens my eyes and I see that phen really wasn't helping me like I thought it was.....my house was alot cleaner though..LOL..I get tired easily now.

Anyhow let me catch up with y'all and then I have to log off of this beyotch and clean this house! Headache or no headache life goes on.

Trauma, I am so glad that your surgery went well. Ab muscles separating are no joke...not only do you have a huge gut, you aren't supporting your back and it causes problems down the line. I know someone taht happened to but she's one of those christians that doesn't want surgery unless she's going to die or whatever and she looks 8 months pregnant.....I think she is going to have problems down the road from it but to each his own. 6 lbs of skin! HOLY SMOKES! thats a hell of alotta skin........Take care of yourself and continue to heal right........

=Mommy of twins...I hate it when people bring treats to the office...i know it is up to us as individuals to control what we eat but how do we keep away from krispy kremes? I hope that doesn't happen to you often....You didn't lose alot because of it, so get your butt in gear and learn from this experience. Hate to use tough love on you but i'm gonna...cause you get back what you put in....and you put in donuts dammit.

Mrs B...thank you for texting yesterday..it was crazy though. I was exhausted, didn't feel good and had to make dinner and clean up the kitchen. Times like that I wish I had a russian nanny like the rest of this dang neighborhool.....Good thing I picked up that duck at BJ's..it is already cooked you just bake it for 20 minutes, I sauteed some spinach and cut up tomatoes for salad...I told my kids that there are some people that have hot pockets for dinner and they said they wished it was them...my efforts are in vain, but I shall not raise mainstream white trash american children that eat fake cheese.......and as God is my witness I shall never go hungry again! (Gone with the Wind song playing in background.....)

Benson, you had your freaking bologna sandwich, now get your crap together. Tight hard butts were not built on bologny....let me sing the bologny song for you.....Ahem..........."I used to eat bolooooooooony,,,,,,,,I thought it was incredible.......then I saw the way they MMMMMMMMAAAAAAAAKKKKKEEEE it....now I think it INEDIBLE"....(sounds better when you can hear me sing it) have fun today with your mexican food in pueblo......I want to see where you live dammit, I hear so many nice things about colorado.....

I know i'm leaving peiople out but I need to put a bra on and start cleaning. Lets all have a good weekend........I'm so happy to be back down to 137..when i hit 140 I start gettng nervous......for those of us that are starting BFL on Monday remember to do your food shopping for what you need this weekend. you can print out a shopping list on the website......

lots of love and hugs ...lets think skinny.......

Basic Weight Loss Mistakes

A lot of us are out there watching what we eat and exercising, but still not making a dent in our bellies and body weight. There are a few things we are probably not doing, or doing too much of, that would mean major improvements in our health.

Get more sleep. After a very short period of time (about 6 nights), studies show that your glucose levels can rise if you get only 4 to 7 hours of sleep each night. New parents are excluded, but everyone else should try to hit the 8 hour mark as often as you can and get to bed BEFORE midnight. Every hour of rest before 12 a.m. is twice as valuable as the hours after midnight: Our cortisol levels are lowest before midnight therefore our recovery is the highest.

Eating fewer refined and processed foods. Avoid fast and fried food and try to consume as many real foods as you can. It's also imperative to get enough fiber (helps with elimination); fruits and veggies are a great way to fill up.

Avoid sugary drinks and reach for more water. Water is great for so many things like digestion, eliminating toxins in the body, and transporting important nutrients to our cells which need energy to burn calories. Americans drink 20% of their calories, so be careful of that silent pitfall.

Get to know your kitchen. I realize it takes more work, but the simple truth is we eat out or order in too often. There is a greater opportunity to control what is in your food if you cook it yourself.

Slow down. When you do sit down to a meal, don't woof it down. Our culture encourages eating while driving or sitting at our desks. The only time we seem to sit down and enjoy our food is at Thanksgiving. The monks chew each bite of food 100 times (which is excessive), but they also eat only until they are full. They recognize that chewing their food more makes it easier for the body to digest.

Breathe. There are so many days that I don't breathe deeply. In the morning, mid-afternoon, and at the end of the day take a 10 conscious, belly-deep breaths. Close your eyes, pull that air deep into your stomach via your nose and let all the junk out through your mouth. Whether its a stressful day, or you just want to start and end your day on the right foot, breathing is important.

Don't starve yourself. Oddly enough some of you may not be eating enough, and the lack of calories is putting your body into save mode. Our bodies are so brilliant, and if they aren't getting enough food, your metabolism will tell your body to store each and every calorie it receives or to make energy from whatever muscle tissue you have. Not good. Oh and by the way, don't skip breakfast. People who skip breakfast are over 4 times more likely to be overweight.

Do more than exercise. Even if you are working out, you can't eat and drink whatever you want. It really is a three sided puzzle: balancing exercise, food, and (oh yes) the spirit (which stress and happiness play into).

I wish you the greatest of success, and remember, being healthy is like making your bed. It really is something we have to work at everyday.

This time I can proudly say that I wasn't MIA because I was cheating, that's usually the reason though. I'm back in school, so everything is crazy. I did weigh in on Friday, but I didn't meet my goal. I wanted to be at 225 by my B-day, today, but I'm at 230. I'm down 4 lbs from last week. I was so surprised because I didn't think I would ever see numbers like that without Phen. I have been kicking a** in the gym though. If I can keep this up, I'll be in Onederland by the New Year. Boy, would that be a great way to kick off 2009, slim and FINE!!!

Good morning. I wasn't TOO bad yesterday. I had 1-1/2 tacos for lunch and half a burger for dinner. BUT, I did drink Pepsi. So, smack, right on the hand.

Scat, I LOVE that outfit. Ann Taylor is one of my favorite stores, #2 to NY & Company. Oh, and thanks for that bologna song, I was trying to figure out the rhythm all the way down to Pueblo! (Two hour-drive!)

Happy B-day Kim. Another fellow Virgo. Good job on losing those 4 pounds. That's fantastic. We're here behind you for those next 5!

Hi MrsB! Thanks for getting us all up and going this morning. I have lots of work to do this week. Brother-in-law is coming out on Friday. Haven't seen him in over a year and he's being deployed to Iraq in January, so we're trying to make this a special time out. But him and DH are going hunting for a week, so I feel like I'm cleaning just for an initial impression, which I guess counts!

Hi to Trauma, Tarheel, LZ, and NY L8DY, mommy, loving me, Yani, and CD. Hope y'all are doing well! Hope I didn't miss anybody!

I did sleep in today because I am just trying to make myself better. Still sick and I think it's because I haven't given my body any time to rest. I've been going, going, going for days and days.

Hi people! Just wanted to drop in real quick. Brother-in-law is coming out on Friday, so I've been pretty busy getting the house ready and my husband ready so they can go hunting for a week. Been cooking forever, freezing, and baking!

I ate like CRAP yesterday! All processed and fried foods. I don't think I ate one healthy thing yesterday. On the plus side, if there is one, I don't think I went over 1200 calories! I just ate a little bit of a lot of bad things! Oh, and I did have a Mountain Dew!

Today's been a LITTLE bit better, but just a little! I had half a PB sandwich and a little bowl of pinto beans (with a tortilla).

Hope everyone is doing well!

Well hello there B!!!
I've been a good girl :D
I've been working out like a good girl, and eating as best I can! And I think it's the whole eating every 3 hours deal that's doing it for me! I'm not really craving anything aside from healthy food. Like i'd freakin LOVE a good peice of grilled or baked fish right now!!! lol
So I have been and will continue to hit it hard this week, but Friday night, I will be going out, and will prolly not eat the best, and then saturday we are going to a festival and they have like fair type food.. HELLO FUNNEL CAKE!!! lol
But i'll be walking ALOT and i'll be exercising ALL week!! :)
Where are you all!?!?!

Sorry, I haven't been here much. I'm back in school, my daughter's back in school, where did all the free time go? I'm hitting the gym every day as promised, but I've been eating like crap (fast food). I've been so tired since I stopped taking Phen, and I don't know when I'll get the energy back. I'm 40 lbs lighter, so you would think that would make some sort of difference. I'm wondering if I need to increase the intensity of my workout since I'm supposed to gain energy from exercising. IDK!

It took me a lil while to get my energy going too! And I don't know why i've been SUPER energetic this week! lol Maybe it's cause i've started the Body for Life, maybe it's cause it's the week after TOM and my hormones are leveling out.. who knows! All I know is I feel fabulous!!!! :D

I don't remember the last time I felt "fabulous". Really...I don't! I would love to do the BFL challenge, but I'm really not that dedicated, plus I have this whole house full of people that would NOT eat what I am eating. Oh, well...

So, tomorrow is weigh-in day! I'm not too excited about that. I am hoping this illness goes away soon so I can start exercising. I did go for a short walk today with my son. Today is my mom's B-day so we are going out to eat tonight. I have no idea what this restaurant serves because she chose it and I have never been there. I will be good though.

There is some good news though. I am noticing that I am not eating that much anymore. Like my portions are WAY smaller than they used to be. I used to be able to eat a whole plate of lasagna and last night I just had a tiny piece and I was totally full.

I do have to exercise some today though because I have a sh!t load of cleaning to do. BIL will be here maybe tomorrow and I haven't even started to clean, plus I want to do the carpets a little, plus I have to wash all the bedding! So, I better get busy!

Scat, hope you're feeling okay!

I am so trying to stop myself from going down this destructive path. Today was another day that I didn't eat well. I keep trying to tell myself that there was nothing in Phen that made me choose to eat healthy, so why can't I do it now. I starting to get pissed off at myself, because I'm working out so hard, then pissing it way by eating sh*t. Maybe it's PMS or maybe I'm just making excuses.

Hi all,

I wanted to quickly come on here and encourage you all to please keeping fighting the good fight, ..Certa Bonum Certa and all that jazz.

My father has taken a turn for the worse so that has been my priority righ tnow, also I am working hard at work to try and finish up this project before the grant money runs out. I think I had good intentions but doing the BFL challenge right now was unrealistic. Between my doctor's appts and driving into the city for my dad's doctor's appointments on top of everything else I just don't have the right mindset for it. Now this doesn't mean that I'm going hog wild and eating whatever I want, I just am not in a structured program and that is what I need so desperately at this point to finally get back to goal.

KIM...girl you are going through a hard time right now. Your body may be craving more because you are working out, try and drink a protein shake when you get out of the gym, right after your workout. This may fill you up a bit so you don't cave in and eat the wrong things. Working out is great, but what and how you are eating is a big part of the equation. The two things have to go hand in hand. So whatever is going on you need to nip it in the bud. Maybe it just is PMS. Whatever it is you realize that it is going on and you need to stop it.

Benson, you have come way too far to let this thing go for sure. When we don't feel good it is easy to let diet and exercise go by the wayside....I've been going through it for a while and I'm surprised that I didn't gain more weight than I have.

I'm feeling alot better, I think the gallbladder issues worked themselves out but I have an appt with the gastroenterologist next week anyway, along with an MRI for my brain. My doctor didn't seem to concerned about it but wants to look further into it anyway. My memory is shot and I wonder if that has anything to do with what is going on. Hopefully it is just stress and not something neurological.

Some stuff happened on this board that kind of makes me want to shy away for a while. I'm on emotion and stress overload....going into my safe little shell for a bit. It doesn't mean I don't love you guys because I do...I want you all to stick with this after phen thing. Phen didn't make us lose the weight, we did it....and we're ogin got keep doing it..one day at a time.......

hugs and kisses ................................

God Bless you and your family, Scat. I pray that everyone's health improves. I also thank you for the advice, I will definitely try the protein shakes. Everyone here will keep you in our prayers.

Even with the potato chips, sodas, and chopped beef sandwich, I lost 2 lbs this week. The battle continues!!!

Hey guys. So, my weigh in for today is 143.8. So I guess I lost 0.2 pounds! Anything that's a loss....I'll take it!

Good to see you Scat. Prayers for your dad!

Hi Mrs. B! You didn't post at all yesterday! What's up with that?

JustKim! Glad you lost. See, you're not doing as bad as you thought you were. I think we get to a point when we are on phen that we think if we eat ANYTHING bad, we're going to gain 10 pounds. I felt like that all week!

Everybody, have a good weekend!

hi guys! wanted to say happy belated bday to kim! so sorry that u are having problems staying away from the evil bad food! the thing that has by far helped me was going vegan...i just cant have all that fast food and processed food, therefore i am able to stay away from it. not that i am pushing it on anyone, just telling u all what helped me-read a great book called skinny b*tch-really outlined everything that is in processed food or from factory farms and how we dont even know whats in it or the long term effects on our bodies. anyway, here is a hug for you that u fight the demons!!! u can do this, u were doing this...pull out all the tricks, pack ur food, always have healthy snacks on hand, etc...we are behind u!

scat-i know u are not on a lot right now but know that we luv ya and wish the best for everyone's health, drop in when u can and give us an update! did u ever join that gym?

mrsb: i so so love when i am sore! its like, YES! I did something to really have an effect on my body! so rock on and i cant wait till i can exercise again! i also started eating every few hours about a month ago and it has really sped up my metabolism...it was hard in the beginning b/c we all think in our heads, eating more is bad, need to keep calories less!!! but it really worked, as i was eating more things that were healthy anyway! so glad that ur energy level is up!

benson-hope ur company doesnt make u nuts, and congrats even on a little loss, esp since i think that u have been having a few cheat things here and there...at least i think that's what i read! also thats great that u see a smaller portion is satisfying! that was hard for me when i started eating more freq, eating smaller amts more freq-gee just like they say we should!

hello to everyone else!

i am one week post op today, down 4 pounds from last week, so i know i still am swollen cause he cut off 6 pounds but my wt is not showing it! still hunched over and using a walker, but getting around a little...eating fairly well, but had half a piece of cheesecake and soy icecream last night...oops. hoping that my wt goes down next week...also hoping next fri i will b able to start out with short walks...keep trucking ladies!

Mrs B. I'm here!!!!
I just haven't had the time I normally have to get on this page. I started a new job this week...and it's been absolutely crazy!!! In my new office, not only do I not have normal internet, but I don't even have an unclassified phone...and I can't bring in my cell phone. So, now when I'm at work, I'm REALLY at work!!!

Anyway, please, fill me in on all of your pain....I LOVE to hear about it!
My upper body isn't sore right now...I'm having the issue with sitting down on the toilet! :)
I've started my new routine of getting up M/W/F at 4:30am and running...but add the lower body workout to that the day before...and OUCHY!!! Holy Crap!
Isn't it amazing the energy you feel from this program?!?! I think this is one of the best exercise programs I hae ever tried...and once you get the hang of it, it's actually really easy to follow!!!

I'm so glad to hear that you're doing well on the program!!!

Scat - I'm so sorry that you have to continuously deal with negative people in your life. I hope that you can still turn to some of us if you ever need a sounding board..or someone to just vent to...whether it be about weight loss..or about your health/your dad!! We love ya girl!

Kim! You rock girl...keep it up!!!

All my other sexy ladies....Keep up the good work!! I know it isn't always easy, but as long as we continue to hold ourselves accountable.....then we can do this!!!!!!!!!

And to everyone in E. Texas....You're in my thoughts and prayers!!!!

Hi everybody, I belive it or not have a spare moment and I wanted to give you all a shout out. Thank you for your good wishes for my dad. It isn't easy but I know that we'll get through this and I hope that happier days are in store for him and our family. There are times I just want to give up but then I give myself the "Moonstruck" slap and I slap out of it.

NYL8dy...Did read correctly? 4:30 am???? I bow in your presence. If I get up at that hour it better because I"m catching a flight, I have to pee or the house is on fire......Seriously thoughI commend you on your determination and how you figured out how to add fitness to your life even though you have a job and little kids..YOWZA! Thanks for your comment about negative people...I hate misunderstandings and when my head is in a certain place like it is lately, I have no energy for it. Better to walk away from it then subject myself to nonsense that just isn't good for me. As you get older you learn these things.

MrsB...I don't have to say anything to you because we speak every dang day.....I thank God for your friendship.

Benson, I hope you are feeling better....I finally am feeling a bit more like normal. I was sickly for over a month! It truly wore me down after a while...because the world doesn't stop when mommy is sick..that is for dang shaw...

JustKim, I hope you got a grip on yourself and arne't hitting the bad stuff anymore. I swear sometimes I think we all need rehab for food issues, not drugs or alcohol. I'd be the first person to sign up. OH yeah, that's called a fat farm. I visited one of those once, thank goodness I brought along my own snackies.....people heard about my chocolate supply and they were knocking on my door all night. Anyways you lost two lbs despite your "collapse"..way to go.

I have some unscheduled time today and I'm going to hit those weights......

Starting fresh with BFL on Monday.

Keep up the good work!

Scat, I'm continuing to pray for your father. Don't stay away too long because we need you girl!

NY L8DY - You sound so motivated. I love getting up early to exercise. I like to get it out of the way because the afternoons gives me too many excuses of why I don't have time. I get up at 5:30 to workout & I also run most mornings.

MrsB, I am going to look into BFL, because I want to feel the energy you are feeling.

Benson & Kim, you ladies have a loss this past week, so you're doing something right.

Trauma - 4lbs is great. Take it easy & let your body heal.

It's Monday & I am journaling what goes into my mouth & my workouts. Like Scat, I am not on a structured program, but I am well aware that I am eating too many carbs. I'm tracking this week so I can see exactly what my eating habits are. Even though I have not gained weight, I feel like my tummy is poofing out. Thats a signal that my diet is too carb heavy.

Have a great week Divas!

Is that what that means? If that is the case, then I will be poofy my whole life! I can't get away from those carbs. No wonder I have such a big belly!

Well, I also want to wish you guys a great week. I am going to take my computer in later today to get an upgrade and an overhaul. I want them to clean it up real good. I am sure there is so much crap on here! So I won't have my computer for a few days. Maybe I can actually get some work done around the house! Talk to you guys soon!

Tarheel, the infamous tummy poof! Otherwise know as CARB BLOAT.......I know all about it all too well.....it is a good signal our body is giving us to let us know that we aren't giving it what it needs.....try and curb on the carbs and you'll feel better...get that water down too, that helps to get rid of bloat...

have a good week everybody.

Wow, I log in to check up on you ladies and I find that there isn't much action on this board..I hope everyone is doing what they need to do or atleast trying. I'm hanging in there. My life is consumed with doctor appointments and tests..in between I'm going to work and taking care of my family. I discovered Zumba and will be doing that two times a week, I am going to be doing Body For Life as soon as I get the okay from the doctor. I seem to be doing better but I don't want to tempt fate by saying that. Life has gotten busy and it is only going to get busier as the weeks go on. There are days I really miss phen but I know from here on out I have to do this on my own. I miss the energy boost. Coffee isn't doing the trick..rofl. My weight is up a bit but I'm not concerned, I know that my body is freaking out over me being back at the gym. Take care everybody and please keep this thread going.

Hey Scat. I was hoping to log on & see an update from you. I pray that all is well.

I am surprised that the board has slowed so much. I browsed the main board & I barely recognized anyone. Since I'm not on phen I barely have anything to contribute.

Hey Tar....Yeah there are alot of newbies which is nice to see. I can't explain those that are MIA, maybe it is because summer is over and people are busier now.....or maybe since I left the board just isn't any fun...(ONLY KIDDING). I still keep in touch with those that I adore via email. My life isn't about phen anymore...but I think anyone htat was on it has something to contribute because you have experience about the drug and can answer the newbie questions. You are doing so great, hey we wear the same size..although my size 8 work pants were so tight today, as the day went on I was waiting for them to implode....Maintenance is no picnic, you need to make the things you have learned part of your lifestyle..not easy but definitely possible becuase I have done it before.

Electricity that is. Finally, after 6 whole days without electricity, I'm able to join the world again with my tv and computer. It's sad because while I'm rejoicing, there are many here who won't get their power back for weeks. I know that I blew it this week, because without power or ice, everything spoiled. It was basically fend for yourselves, so we ate nothing but junk all week. I'll look at what the damage is tomorrow, but I did make it to the gym today, they re-opened yesterday. I'm asking everyone to keep the Greater Houston area and Galveston in their prayers. Once the media coverage dies down, many people will be forgotten.

I was going to post this on the regular threads but then I decided not to since it is a controversial subject. I had a disturbing day and found out some things about phen that I did not know. Please note that the following is MY experience and I"m not posting this to scare anyone or tell anyone else what to do or what they should think about phentermine.

As many of you know I have been suffering with extreme symptoms since the beginning of August. These included severe headaches, stomach/gallbladder pain, elevated liver enzymes etc. There have been some findings on my cat scan of my brain that I need to have investigated further. Not a brain tumor, but severe atrophy not common in a woman my age along with advanced calcification that can be serious..etiology is unknown.

Today I went to a new doctor as my primary care physician. This office is very thorough and one of the doctor's at this practice has a waiting list of 115 patients! Needless to say I saw her partner....I came clean about my phen use. She ordered a ekg and did it twice. It is abnormal and I need to go to a cardiologist now and get an echocardiogram. I never had an abnormal ekg before and I really wonder if I'm reading too much into this phen thing and its link to cardiovascular problems. A good friend of mine today found out from her doctor that phen has been linked with hormonal changes in women. Think about it...phen works by stimulating the hypothalmus which can effect hormones. Do you think alot of people having a change in their menstrual cycles or getting pregnant while on phen is a coincidence? How about phen making me go from a D cup to an F cup and feeling bloated all the time? Was that a coincidence too? Why would my breasts GROW if I were LOSING weight? Then her doctor said that phen is being used in off label practice as a fertility drug and also in psychiatric patients. Yowza. ....

Now I have tried to find some medical abstracts to support these claims but I don't think that is something that I will find on the internet, I probably have to go to the Health Science library at the medical/nursing school I work for and search. It makes no difference now because the damage has been done. I was on phen entirely too long, longer than I should have been and even at half a pill a day I was damaging my body. I regret it. It wasn't worth it to me. If I were a large person headed towards obesity related illness then maybe it would have been worth it but in my case it wasn't........My thighs and boobs are bigger even though I don't weight alot more, I have gallbladder issues, brain issues and now cardiac issues? Coincidence that my body should fall apart at the same time? I think not.

I wish everyone good luck and health ....today was an epiphany for me. I really thought at one time that I couldn't lose weight without phen.....Maybe phen helped me alot but the bottom line is I was doing the work to lose myself.....and I could have done it without phen..I can still do it without phen. Right now my weight is the least of my problems, I need to get healthy again.

I just wanted to put this out there because we hear alot of good things about phen on this site.....I'm showing you the flip side of the coin and i'm not the first person to do that....(anybody remember nikki?, she had some heart thing going on too and she quit phen). And for those of you that are wondering I did not abuse the drug....I took half a tablet a day and I did take breaks......

Just wanted to put it out there. Something to think about......my life is going to be very different from now on.

Hi everyone! Thanks for that post about phen, Scat. I myself am experiencing strange effects. I am having short-term memory loss, which I never had before. In fact, I pride myself on my excellent memory. I know EVERYTHING. But lately, I can't remember hardly anything, little things, like "did I take my pill", "what did I do with that paperwork", "did I send in my work".....lots of stuff....lots of little stuff. Even today when I was doing laundry I put my shirts where the pants go, and my husband's shirts in my stuff. I'm like, what the hell??? It's making me a little sad actually! But we can't change the past. Let's just hope it's not a chronic condition.

I did good this week. I weighed in at 143.

Where is Mrs. B? Anybody know? Where are you buddy?

Still holding steady at 227 at the weigh-in, which was unbelievable because I had no cooked food for a week, due to the hurricane. If it couldn't be eaten off the shelf, it wasn't eaten. The "Y" where I work out had damage, so I was only able to work out twice this week, plus in addition to all that, it was TOM. Next week, I want at least a 2lb loss, so I can finally be at my goal of 225, that was set for Sept.7, my B-day. .

Benson, that is what I call "phen fog" and I have it myself. I'm hoping that now that I'm off the phen I will get my memory back. You can also have "fog" if you are under extreme stress....but who is not under stress? I think as moms we all are to a certain degree, it comes with the job. I have to leave sticky notes for myself all over the place.....and I have been forgetting things on the stove, etc. Hormones tend to make us forgetful so I truly believe in the hormone connection with phen. How many girls come on here and talk about their periods being off or their PMS symptoms being worse? why should it be any different with neurological function like memory? just a though.

KIM! I am so proud of you girl, becuase I know if I only had to eat boxed food I'd be a goner! And even though your gym had damage you managed to work out!! I'm in awe of you girl! You managed to make your weight loss priority even during times of great stress like hurricane. way to go girl! Now that things are settling down you can get back on the program. I had a few days that I lost it, ate way too much but today I started the day with my oatmeal and im' back in the saddle again. Oatmeal tends to keep me full for a while, it really is a miracle food if you ask me. I encourage everyone to eat it. When I was really strict on my carbs my trainer told me to let myself have oatmeal, even though it was a carb it was definitely a good carb.

Okay enough of my love for oatmeal.....I better get some work done so that I have time to hit the beach later. I love the beach in the Fall, it empties out and it is nice to sit and read and not worry about it being too hot...(or wear a bathing suit...AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH)

Peace out

For real y'all.......I have my disturbing news and I spent a few days wondering my next move and now I'm just ready to get back on the horse..I don't know how to do anything else:

THIS WEEK:

MORE water
Oatmeal every morning for a week. No more skipping breakfast.
Workout every day this week.

Okay there I put it out there. Now it is your turn. What are YOU doing different this week? We took our phen, it was a wild ride...some of us were successful some of us weren't. that is the PAST, now lets focus on the HERE AND NOW> One day at a time.

*MORE PROTEIN!!!!......it truly does help me feel fuller....longer......

OK...thats all I can think of right now....but those are realistic goals for me for the week!!!!!...

Eating every three hours is not going to work for me either......that just means I'm eating more, getting used to grazing all day...so the Body For Life eating program is not going to work for me. Don't tell a greek woman she can eat all day.....it gets ugly......

I don't know how today is going to go on the water situation because I will be on the road alot and in manhattan at a hospital all day.....I can't make that many pit stops....so I'll start downing that water tomorrow.....also I probably won't get any exercise in but i'm not worried about that neither, today is an exception day. hope everyone has a good one.

Got the second oldest to pre-school....got home...two loads of laundry done...the kitchen cleaned....toddler actually behaving...and then BAM....I swear it all went to he** in a freakin hand basket on a blink of an eye...the baby did not go down for a nap unitl just 20 minutes ago....at 4:20...the toddler has been a holy sh*t head since late morning....I have gotten NOTHING else done today except losing a few more pieces of my sanity...
I am so frusterated....I have had NO water....and MAYBE 100 calories...
My husband is pi**y...and my mom...well....lets just leave it at that....so I do not see ANY exercise happening for me today...since I have to take the 10 year old to football for 2 and a half hours with the other three in tow...

Hey DIVAS! For those women that are continuing to lose/maintain weight CONGRATS! Keep up the good work! And for those that have gained a few pounds don't get discouraged, it happens to the best of us. Happy Belated birthday Benson! I just celebrated mine on September 20th (that was Libby's birthday also for those that remember her). I have lost another 2 pounds which brings me to 182. Trying to get to 160 seems so far away. I am almost tempted to settle for 170. I was able to zip and button a size 12 pair of jeans on Saturday but my stomach roll looked gross hanging over the top (LOL~ Laugh out Loud) so I figured I would just wait on those. I just purchased my first pair of DKNY size 13/14 and I cried right in the middle of Macy's. I can not wait to buy a size 10. I know it's coming!
I'm continuing to workout at least 3 days a week (45 minutes of cardio and strength training with weights). I have found a new love for bench pressing and exericse using dumbells. I don't know why it just seems like it relieves more stress. I was working out alot more when I was on Phen (5-6 days a week) so I really need to get back to that. Also someone stole my MP3 player at the gym so believe it or not working out is alot harder when you don't have music to listen to. At least when you are listening to your favorite songs you don't realize how much you are really working out. This time I am going to invest in an IPOD and get back to my vigerious workouts.
I hope you are all doing well and staying encouraged to reach your desired weight goals! WE CAN DO IT!

Gril, ive been there,,,not with four kids though, just with two..but I remember all too well how out of control life is with baby and/or toddler at home telling you what time THEY are going to nap and not hte other way around. I remember driving around the block over and over again trying to get a baby to fall asleep in their car seat......making a toddler lay down and hoping that they'd stay that way.....oh and having to drag all the kids around because one has an activity...OY VEY....I can't tell you how many events of my older son's I could not attend becuase I had a sick baby home and/or no babysitter......:(

Please stay strong.....don't lose your cool.....try and do something nice for yourself...eating well and staying hydrated will help you with mood swings, etc.

HUGS...

I just know it.....it does get harder as you get smaller, you should be realizing that just about now..when there is less of you less comes off..not sure why, I guess it works on percentages or something...but you are doing what you need to do to get it off...I'm so inspired by you!

Benson, my middle name is slacker...LOL....

JUNK FOOD IS JUST WRONG! Get away from it. I can say that I have eliminated junk food from my diet, unfortunately it is going to take alot more than that to help me lose more weight. But junk food not only makes us gain weight it makes us feel bad in the long run............so the fact that you are resolved to stop it is a step in the right direction...are you buying it for your kids or for yourself? If you HAVE to buy it then buy stuff you won't pig out on. I only buy my kids stuff that I don't want to eat...(and that doesn't leave much, trust me! LOL)....

Hey there ya'll;
Well...a TAD better today...but we have football again tonight....I am so over this...tehe...my husband is working late/really early all week...it is the end of their financial year for this big huge project so....under the gun....I am a single married mommy this week....haha
I FINALLY made it to the grocery store....that was one of my biggest issues is I had NOTHING in the house for myself so I was making bad choices...What I have noticed the most is the fact I have been lacking alot of protein over the past few days and WOW...what a difference!!!!...so back to my protein shakes...lots of grilled chicken and veggies...but have gotten back to my waters today...and the other things I noticed is it is the week before my TOM...AAHHH....GGGRRRR......but I am going to really try and focus on lots of water to help with the bloat...

Thanks for the pep talk Scat....it just helps to hear others say they have been through it....it helps to make me not feel like such a scatterbrain barely hanging on...haha....how are things going with your dad by the way?...and what are the exercise tapes you do at home...did I see you talk about turbo jam at one time?...did you like it??...

Benson...i think like scat said just keeping it outta the house is key...i know it is for me...sorry kids..they dont need it either...and if momma cant have it...NO ONE CAN!!!!....Thats my rule!!.....and I think the junk makes you feel really arfu the next day....I know it does me....bloated...fatigued....just like a**....hehehehehe

LovingMe...YOU ARE ONE HOT LADY....You look fantastic...and congrats on your jean accomplishment!!!

Just remember all....the food is not going to make our lives ANY less stressful...happier...or complete...that is up to us....hang in there and keep on....Good luck ladies!!!

Hi Sleventis,
thanks for asking..dad is hanging in there but things don't look good. Our visit with the new cardiologist yesterday was a disappointment. I have been depressed all day becuase of it and weight loss right now seems trivial. I couldn't even go to Zumba tonight. That wasn't me that did Turbo Jam, that was someone else. I don't really do videos at home, I use my elliptical and use weights......I guess I need to be in a room with other people and a "live " instructor for me to get my groove on.

WOW Scat. Thanks lady for sharing your story. I'm sure there are some that do not wish to hear that phen could possibly have long term effects. I find it interesting that its so hard to find any info on the subject. You hang in there & I wish you all the best. Did you get a chance to read this thread? Interesting info.

http://www.phentermine.com/forum/side-effects-phentermine/205-long-term-effects-success-pehntermine.html

I see the Divas are still losing weight & committed to exercise! I have increased my exercise & changed things up a bit. I still work out 5 times a week, but instead of just running, I have included trekking, & speed intervals. On the days that I weight train, I jump rope between sets. Let's see if the incline workouts will trim the fat from my thighs.

Good job everyone & Happy belated birthday LovingMe.

Hey Tarheel,
Thanks for that link..I quickly skimmed that thread. It seems there is alot of talk about tingling of extermties and numbness. I don't think I ever about taht as being a symptom but at this point anything is possible. What people need to realize is a couple of things. First of all, just because a drug is passed by the FDA doens't mean it is "safe"..alot of times drugs are taken off the market after they have FDA approval. Basically the FDA looks at clinical trials and if noone died then they give a drug its seal of approval. Secondly all drugs have side effects and some of those side effects aren't listed on the drug's pamphlet or the info given to you by the drugstore.

I totally believe the hormonal link....how many people on this board have complained about skin changes, changes in menstrual cycle, worse PMS symptoms, bloating, etc. ? I very rarely take information to heart if it is heresay but the doctor that told my friend about the "off label " use of phen is a well respected doctor part of Emory University.

I guess when someone is truly obese and facing horrific consequences if they don't lose weight than the risk of taking phen is little in comparison to dropping dead at any moment from a heart attack. It is sort of like rolling dice.

I can only speak from my experience..and I'm not here to sway anyone's judgment. I can only say for me that I'm happy to be off of it and now I have to get through a battery of tests to make sure that I am okay. IN fact I am going to make a few phone calls now.

Well I just had my oatmeal so I am sticking to my personal challenge this week. I have accupuncture this afternoon, decided to give it a whirl and see if it would help with stress. It is not cheap, but neither is a massage or facial and I think of this as being along the same lines of a treat. I found a shirt today that hides my big gut that is hanging over my jeans...boy, will I be happy when that is gone. The days are getting colder and I won't have any clothes to fit me this fall/winter if this keeps up. I found out the other day that I am at the maximum weight that is healthy for my height and body frame.....not good. That means I'm skating on thin ice and I need to get that number down.

have a great day everybody.

Hey there ya'll;
I was able to get in all my water...and exercise...after football...even though it was 9:00 at night I put my sneakers on and went out to walk...but ended up doing some running too...that was a surprise...but i did it with my arm weights and felt so much better afterwards...I was going to skip it all because I was tired...but I am always going to be tired so that can no longer be an excuse...so me, my mace, and ipod went out...whoo hoo....hhaha....plus I finally have food in the house that is "for me"...its so hard when we are grocery poor...but I did get more protein in yesterday too....

I havent completely gotten off the phen but am working towards that....taking only a half right now...while I program myself to "function" with a new lifestyle change on my own...I'll tell you...this whole thing has been such an eye opener for me...I have never had an issue losing the weight after baby...and its not that I am doing that bad now....but it sure is taking alot more effort...getting older and the hormone changes alone with that are kicking my a** right now...plus I am going through the hormonal changes of my body trying to get back to normal...ggeesshhkkk....oh well....I know that I am taking the right steps and that is what matters..

Good luck with the accupuncture....let us know if it helps!!!!...my brother in law did it to stop smoking and after a two pack a day habbit for twenty years...he hasnt smoked in about two years!!!....

Take care everyone!!

Hi Sleventis..good for you for working out after football..you really hve an amazing amount of energy, I guess you would have to with four kids.
Acupuncture was interesting. Some of the needles hurt when I moved and the ones in my ears hurt.....after she put the needles in she put on that funky holistic music and shut the lights and I was supposed to relax but I couldn't. My mind was racing. It stinks that my insurance won't cover it otherwise i'd do it once a week..just going once isn't going to make much of a difference. I felt very sleepy when it was over.....I don't think it works fo rweight loss (I asked) but it is supposed to help with overalll stress reduction which should help with cravings but my life is so stressed right now I don't know if it will work.....time will tell.

I REALLY hope you are able to find something...you DESERVE IT!!!!....I can tell you are extremely stressed and overwhelmed...and I think those two feelings combined are just deadly to not only our waistlines but our souls...
I take everything to the max when it comes to worring and stressing out...but someone in this family has too...I always try and find the happy optimistic side of things but with all my husband and I have dealt with over the past 18 months it makes it so hard to continuely do so...I am always asking..."what more"..."what else could possibly happen now???"...
Not saying that my husband doesn't worry about things....but its just different for the wife/mommy...we take everything so much more personal and believe we are less than worthy if we are not taking on EVERYTHING FOR EVERYONE
We could have nuclear war going on and my husband can still go to bed and sleep...me....I cant sleep, I cant eat, I cant do anything except try and FIX IT (whatever it may be) NOW!!!! and wont stop until I "fix it"...i think it must be in our DNA....anyways...I pray you are able to find some peace soon....you need to give yourself permission to take care of yourself...take care girl!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know what you mean Sleventis about trying to fix problems. I don't truly get stressed unless it is something importan though. I don't want to go on and on about my problems either. I t hink people get tired of hearing about it. I just hate it when things are not in my control, or that I'm not doing everything that I possibly could to rectify a problem. I'm learning about putting things in God's hands.....it is a new concept for me.......

Today I am going to work which is always a good thing because I'm so busy there that i"m not eating. I am going to try and pack some healthy things to eat to take with me, not sure what that is yet...I am going to try and fit into a dress that I haven't worn yet, I bought it last month and couldn't wait for Fall so I could wear it....the problem is it may not fit now!

The other problem is my feet. After months of fit flops and open shoes my feet are rejecting closed shoes...I wore a pair of shoes yesterday and I now have blisters galore. Part of me wishes I were one of the graduate students at work that walk around in their pajamas and flip flops......

Have a good day. Every day I present myself with a mini challenge. My mini challenge for today is trying to fit in exercise......

Hello everyone. I have spent the last 10 or 15 minutes catching up on all your posts! Lots going on over the past couple of days.

I don't buy the junk food, my husband does. I HATE it when he goes to the grocery store because he comes home with ALL KINDS of crap. I do not allow pop in the house because it is my weakness, and if I have it in the house, I will drink it.

Tomorrow is weigh in day. I don't feel too fat these days. I have been getting some kind of exercise because I have some new kids in the house and I have been walking them to and from school so they can learn their way around the neighborhood. So lots of walking lately.

Scat, I know what you mean about not being able to relax. My mind is always going a million miles a minute. I think if I could learn to just shut SOME of it off, I would feel 100% better.

Hey there ya'll
Well...did ok yesterday until husband wanted to make brownie bites and cookies "as a family"...ggrrr...did not go too overboard...but realizing I just cannot even start down that path...so I think that since the company event is looming just around the corner...next weekend...I am going to hit the low carb, low sugar thing again...and to get back on track...plus I am dealing with the TOM learking.....MEH!!!!....and it ALWAYS kicks my a**....

Scat...what was the water pill you use to help combat bloating?.,..and dont ever apologize for talking about what is going on...maybe even just the act of typing it out and knowing others are there to check in on you is helpful a little...it is something that is a major influence in your life right now....dont be sorry for that...and the whole leaving it in Gods hands is something I am newer too as well...but it works...and that is what he is there for....good luck!!!...

Benson...I am so with you on the junk food dilema...and my husband wonders why I dont ever send him out for true and tride grocery shopping...becauase he comes home with crap....expensive crap at that...and if he takes on of the kids....game over...they come home with even more......GOOD LUCK on your weigh in tomorrow...let us know how it goes!!!!!!!!!

Well....I am really going to try and get some exercise in as well today...even if it is after football...even though it will be at night its better than not at all eh...and I have to get MORE WATER IN TOO......

Take care ladies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have the opposit problem of y'all, my husband is a health food nut. He is very picky about what the kids eat and will throw something in the garbage if it something the kids should't be eating. It drives me crazy but he must be doing something right because he is down in body fat percentage. I am trying to follow his example but there is no way I could eat that "clean"..mama needs her snackies, especially during PMS.....a man just doens't get that....and I don't think they want to...ROFL....
Sleventis, it is the diurex capsule..in the PINK and blue box. there are different ones but earthgoddess told me to get that one. It does not have caffeine in it. Not all stores carry that one...if you cant find it let me know and I'll send it to you okay? They say drinking more water gets rid of the bloat but that never worked for me...especially during PMS time. I tend to be a bloater....one night of chinese food and I can gain five lbs easy...it is horrific. And thank you for telling me to share on here, but I did that all summer and I think at this point I need to just keep the details of my father's illness private. Noone needs to hear about all my problems. I just appreciat e the outpouring of good wishes and prayers during this challenging time.

I am lifting weights now. I am just going to do some upper body. Going to zumba tomorrow night. Had a really long exhausting day at work, I transcribed research for hours on end. I didn't even take a lunch break...just a chat break. I look forward to a hot shower tonight and some comfy pajamas.

sleventis
September 26th, 2008, 12:40 AM
ok...is there ANYTHING better than comfy pjs...I think I could live in pj bottoms and tank tops...oh wait...I DO....TEHE....

I ran again tonight...I am kinda getting into doing my workout outside...there are so many inclines so I know I am really working it...and its nice to do it later in the evening after the sun has gone down...it is alot cooler...I am sure people are looking at me like I am nuts...because when I am just power walking I have my weights and do series of punches and stuff....oh well....just keep on driving....leave the crazy b*tch alone...hehehe....and then when I got home I did 20 minutes of free weights, lunges, and squats in the garage...and I almost had myself talked out of doing it...good thing one of the other personalities won....hahaha...

I am with you on the bloat thing...I am EXTREMELY sensitive to salt...TOM...or air...I can bloat up in a heartbeat...good grief it stinks...even if I have pizza...next day I am a gonner....and talk about wanting some yum-yum...especially during TOM....they call my name from my freakin sleep....dark chocolate...peanut butter....cake...whatever...

What is zumba by the way....sounds interesting!!!...and I will just continue to pray for your family...I totally respect your privacy!!...take care girl!!!

You don't know what Zumba is? It was a big infomercial years ago and on videos that you can still buy. Zumba is dance inspired fitness, based on Latin dance....it isn't all latin music though, depends on the instructor. It is alot of fun and a great workout. Up until this past Spring I was a jazzercise instructor so dance aerobics is my thing. Zumba is really different though and in my opinion a better workout than Jazzercise. (more challenging, keeps your heart rate up longer). I am taking the workshop next month to get certified to teach it, another reason I have to get back into shape........the pressure is on......anyway I think your workouits sound great!

Have a great day everybody! It is raining here but I really don't mind....today I get to see my new house when the mortgage appraiser is there. I have a brain MRI this afternoon....they are making me take out my navel ring........

Hi Benson, glad to see you checking in.

Good luck with that MRI Scat.

Sleven - I love running outside but unfortunately unless my husband is home I have to resort to my treadmill.

I did 5 miles this morning & feel pretty good, but dang if I don't have an ounce of energy. I did some elevated push ups yesterday & my chest area is so sore. Have a great day ladies.

Hey ya'll...
Scat...curses them for making you take out your pretty navel jewelry...tehe...I use to have one too...and I loved it...it was like my own personal naughty secret...but I got so freaking huge with my first son that my dr made me take it out...sometimes when I am feeling very rebellious I want to go and get it re-done...haha...GOOD LUCK on your MRI sweetie...I hope everything is ok....about the Zumba...now that you mention it I DO remember the infomercial on it...I am sure I almost bought it as I am an infomercial junkie...especially when it comes to any and all things weight loss/exercise related....good luck on your re-certification...I use to teach kickboxing, step, and beginner hip hop a few years back...I REALLY loved it....sigh...those were the days...tehe

Tarheel-Can I please have those boobs in your avatar....tehe....mine are shot after four kids...and nursing them...they are pretty bad...actually....kinda scury...tehe....good work you on your run!!!!....I WISH i had a treadmill so bad...before we moved we had a wonderful gym in our old house with Pre-Core workout equipment...one of which was a treadmilll...OMG how I miss that thing...but I agree...I am whipped this morning and I think it is from my workout last night....I thought working out was supposed to make you feel just wonderful and FULL of energy....hhhmmmm.....tehehehehehe....

Well...off for another fun filled day of temper tantrums and being thrown up on by the baby (haha)...my husband left me the sweetest card though telling me to be ready between 5:30-6:00 tonight to go out for my b-day...guess that means I have to do something with myself other than the wonderful pj bottoms and tank top which has become my everyday wear....tehe....off to the closet to attempt to put something together....grrr....tehe

My bday plans last night were nixed...hubby ended up working late...which i was ok with....I was tired anyway....but...he took care of all four ALL day...even got the ten year old to his football game and took the other three to watch....THEN...to my surprise I came home to a "surprise" party...from my family...they had COMPLETELY decorated the house in pink balloons...streamers...bday hats...plates and a banner that said Happy Birthday Princess with crowns all over the place...it was really sweet...even had a cake...and they ordered pizza but he went to my favorite place to get my a chicken salad...but it was so sweet and unexpected to come home to that....plus he has arranged for my mother to watch the kids Monday so I can go and get a pedi/mani for the weekend event....and then shop for a couple new outfits....I am very blessed to have him!!!

I actually did really good today even though I spent seven hours on the road...I took two protein shakes...waters...but did stop for a coffee....oh well...just glad I did not "pull through" to grab something on the fly to eat....OMG...have you ever been to a store called ULTA...its ALL THINGS beauty related...my first time there...I went and picked up some bare minerals make-up...but was a great store...I had to stay focused or else I could have done some serious damage in there...tehe..

I hope you are feeling ok today....how was your Zumba class??...did you get to go??.....how did you do this past week with all your goals?...I am trying to establish what I am aiming for this coming week...hhhmmmm....

I have had such a pleasant afternoon. My husband & daughter went to the movies & its been so peaceful.

Sounds to me like you had an awesome birthday....yay.......your husband sounds sweet, and to think this is a greek man. You musta got the last good one..bahahahaha...(okay y'all write your freaking letters, I can talk about my own kind....) yes, I have an ULTA near me and it is a bit overwhelming,,,if you think that's bad you should see Sephora on fifth avenue, I think it is three floors.! I can do major damage in a place like that, I like makeup even though I usually don't wear alot of it.....
enjoy your mani/pedi tomorrow!

Scat & Sleventis, what pretty women you are. Scat never keeps a pic up for long, which I don't understand why because she's one gorgeous woman. Slevntis, your upper body is to die for. Look at how tone you are & those arms have definition. I suppose I should put a pic back up soon.

Sleventis, so glad your birthday was a special one. Your husband is a dear.

I have had such a pleasant afternoon. My husband & daughter went to the movies & its been so peaceful.

Where is your pic tarheel? you are right , I post pics but then get afraid and take them down. I don't want people I know to know that i was on phen, plus i post alot about my insecurities here, things I don't want other people to know. I'm extroverted but I don't hang the dirty laundry.....people on the "outside" think I have such a charmed life..if htey only knew............

Hi all. I haven't had a chance to check in the past few days. I totally forgot to weigh in too on Friday. But I weighed myself yesterday and I am up one pound. So, gotta start paying more attention to what the hell is going on. That's funny you mentioned Zumba because today I went to the rec center and they are starting a Zumba class. All this talk about Zumba got me real curious.

I'm glad to see all your pictures! I am still in the "I hate all my pictures" mode. Plus, I barely have two seconds to post, much less browse through pictures. You are all gorgeous! Tarheel, I know you are too, so post those pretty pictures.

Again, my main goal for this week is MORE WATER! I am such a slacker on the water front!

Also, just wanted to add, MrsB., if you are browsing, you are missed!

Mrs B won't be on as much because she is starting a new job and won't be using the computer at work, hopefully Mr B will let her come up for air sometimes at night so she can hop on the puter.......she is doing really well with her body for life plan and she bought an elliptical. I"m really proud of her.

Benson your pics from that vacation you took were awesome, you should post those.....

I gained more weight, i hit the 140 mark which is my maximum...that is the scary number where I pretty much know i'm outta control. I'm giving myself the moonstruck slap! Going to the gym today , and hopefully will get in a workout every day t his week:

MON: cardio fusion class
TUES: zumba and lower body weights
WED: Ball class and Latin Jam
THURS: Zumba and upper body weights
FRIDAY: SPIN
SAT: Elliptical and Lower Body Weights
SUN: YOGA

After this week I'll start lifting weights again. I just want to see how much cardio I can get in to get the metabolism going..gotta get that furnace going again!

As far as diet goes, I'm doing tons of vegetables....very little bread.

wish me luck because I usually never do well when i give myself a "Plan"

Hey there girl...I am with you...hopped on the scale this am...yikes...up two pounds..yes I know its TOM...but to be totally honest...I HAVE NOT been a good eater this past week...just got very lax...so I am going to back to only "good carbs" from certain veggies...and then lots and lots or protein...period....I havent come this far to frock it all up....it can go south so quickly...and I need to get in my cardio this week too...especially since I wont be able to do anything in regards to working out this weekend....

WE CAN DO THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.....I have the same struggle though....I do great and then I "Set" a schedule and "plan" and i automatically screw that up to...hhmmm......not this time though.....RIGHT....RIGHT!!!....

Hopefully mrsB will make contact with us soon...glad to hear she got a new job..i hope its better for her....

Take care ladies!!!!

Benson...I am with you on the more water...I am soooo bad at that....its like the harder I try...the worse I do...sometimes I feel as though I have to gag it down...dont get it.....plus I have the TOM rearing its ugly head this week...so that is NOT helping my cause....tehehehehe...GOOD LUCK GIRL....you can do this!!!!!.....I hate all my pics too....but just go for it!!!!...I made my mom retake this pic a thousand times....tehe....i about had an anxiety attack posting it....we are so hard on ourselves!!!!!!

the cardio fusion class I took today ROCKED...we did step, step with weights, then got on mats and did abdominal work. I'm already sore, i can only imagine how I am going to feel tomorrow! I was sweating more than I have in months, my face was red and at one point I didn't think I was going to get through the class but I DID!! OH HOW I missed the gym!!

Sleventis I totally hear you on the vegetables and protein....even though I ate "well" today it is still too many carbs....I need to definitely try and keep that in check. I think that I will be eating better now than when I was on phen , because Phen gave me odd cravings for things and totally turned me off vegetables...no lie!! Now that I have my appetite back I won't be having those long periods of times between meals either.....which did a job on my stomach acid, hence the gastric problems......

I know that getting to goal is even further away now that I gained weight but I think I'm on the right track. Working so hard in class today made me not want to blow it!!! I woldn't want to work out that hard and never see the fruit of my effort......it was fun but lets face it, I'd rather be getting a massage or a facial.

I'm really going to see about going to the rec center at least a couple times a week. In case you guys didn't know this, I am a foster parent and we just got three new kids, so now I have SIX kids in the house, ages 2, 4, 6, 8, and two 13s! It has been pretty fricken crazy around here the past couple of weeks! There isn't even enough room in the van for my husband. If we ever go anywhere together, we have to take two cars! How crazy is that!

But, on the plus side, now there is someone for the baby boy (2) to play with at the rec center daycare. That's why I wouldn't go before because he would freak out. Now the girl (4) can go with him. Let's hope that all works out.

I was talking with a social worker yesterday who has lost a ton of weight and she told me that's what she is doing, veggies and protein.

Well, I am going to get started on my day. Today I have to deal with cars. They've been neglected for a while, so I am going to go give one of them some love today! Funny, it needs AC maintenance, just in time for winter!

Just for fun, I am going to post what I eat so I can SEE what the heck I am doing wrong!

Yesterday:
Breakfast - I really can't remember now that I am on the spot. I think a couple bites of my son's pop tart! And some coffee.

Lunch - Beans, green chili, and a tortilla (Hey, we live in Colorado where half the population is Mexican!)

Dinner - Ribs (just one pork country rib), rice with veggies. I did have some Kool-aid at dinner with the kids.

I had a little bit of Pepsi with an Excedrin because I had such a bad headache! That came back to bite me in the a.s.s. because then I couldn't sleep with all that caffeine!

Feel free to critique my meals or just plain old b!tich me out for being a dumba ss. Yikes! That is pretty bad, huh? But the good news is that my portions are pretty reasonable.

Hey Benson...I think what you do taking in fosters kids is one of the most honerable things...my husband and I have considered the same even though we have four of our own...but the selfish side of my knows I would become attached to any child that came into our house and to EVER have to let them go would kill me...I know its not a great reason...but I just want you to know I think you are amazing and VERY selfless!!!

Scat-a-tat-tat...what up girl...how are you doing so far today??,....I am jelous you have such GREAT workout options where you are...man...I would love to do those types of classes...keep it up...I am going to go and workout after football tonight...even though I officially started today so the next three days are going to KICK MY A**...but I have noticed if I make myself get up and workout when I am going through the TOM I feel so much better...its just the actually act of getting off my duff and getting in motion!!!!...I have some chicken marinading right now to be grilled later...its one of those mrs. dash...has low calories, NO SALT...low carbs...I grill a whole bunch of chicken up at a time so that it is there and easily accessible...ALSO...I keep those steam bags made my ziplock handy...its really easy to throw some veggies in one of those bags with a dusting of mrs. dash and steam for a few minutes...

Benson...that might help you too...to have grilled chicken on hand...already cooked...I am sure with all the children you have....you do not have much time to cook just for yourself...the other thing I have discovered...which my husband and kids actually love is this...take egg whites(you can buy just egg whites at the store) and pour some into muffin tins (about half way full; after spraying with pam) then I add diced tomatoes, onion, mushrooms, peppers..I add crumbled turkey sausage (jimmy dean makes GREAT turkey sausage patties) and then a little bit of shredded cheese...bake at about 425 for 15-18 minutes...they are SSOOO GOOOD....and they keep well....and are easy to reheat!!!!...ALSO...the EAS low carb shakes are WONDERFUL!!!!....The silver ones have 110 calories, 3 grams of fat...17 grams of protein..LOW sugar...the chocolate ones are my favorite and great on the go....hope this helps even just a little bit....

You all take care!!!!!!!

Sleventis, that's the problem! I don't like chicken that much. But, we did have a "chicken thingy" for dinner tonight. It's a Mexican dish called Tinga. I don't think it has many calories. It's like boiled chicken with a ton of onions, then you put Chipotle peppers in it and tomato sauce and boil it all together, then it makes some sort of soupy thing, but thicker, and you put it on a tostada shell. It's really good, and I don't think there are many calories in it. The recipe calls for sour cream over the top, but I don't put the sour cream....or maybe something I just put a little drop! But the more sour, the more calories.

I just wish I could find a few frickin seconds to work out. That would be the best! I just can't find the time. Boo hoo!!

Scat, some day SOON I am just going to run into one of those Zumba classes and do it! It sounds like so much fun!!!

Just for the heck of it...Here's that recipe for tinga if you guys wanna try something new. I even seen that people put all the ingredients in a crock pot. I don't add oil though. We boil the onions with the chicken. And the Chipotle peppers, those are usually in the Mexican food aisle at the grocery store. In case you guys wanna try something new. Don't look up the recipe online because the pictures they show of it look gross. It looks nothing like that. OH, and be sure to pull out those peppers before putting the chicken on your tostada shell. They are dang HOT!

6 bone-in chicken breast halves
7 medium onions, thinly sliced
1 clove garlic, chopped
1/4 cup vegetable oil
6 medium tomatoes
1 (7 ounce) can chipotle peppers in adobo sauce
1 tablespoon chicken bouillon granules
16 tostada shells
1 cup sour cream
salt and pepper to taste
Add to Recipe Box
My folders:

Add to Shopping List
Add a Personal Note

DIRECTIONS
Place the chicken into a large pot along with 1/4 cup of sliced onion, garlic, and enough water to cover. Bring to a boil, and cook until no longer pink, about 25 minutes. Remove chicken, cool, and shred meat. Discard skin and bones.
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the remaining onion slices, and fry until transparent. Place tomatoes into a pan of boiling water (you could use the leftover chicken water), and boil until they split open.
Place the tomatoes and the whole can of chipotle peppers into the pan and heat for 10-20 minutes with the shredded chicken and cooked onions. Heat through.
To serve, each person spreads some sour cream on their tostada shell, and tops with a spoonful of the chicken.

Well I didn't make it to ball class ..too bad, I really wanted to plaly with some balls, its been a while since I did that (snicker...I'm so immature!)...But I did make it to "latin jam"..well there was nothing Latin about it. First of all almost everyone was wearing Bloch dancing sneakers......GULP** For those of you that know anything about dance you know that those are the cadillac of dance sneakers for serious dancers.......special order, usually stores don't carry them. Okay, fine. then the instructor says "This is an intermediate/advanced class....... Winds up this was a real dance class...and everyone already knows the choreography so picture me , the idiot, standing there while peopel are twirling, prancing and doing crap that I have never seen before. I was kind of annoyed because the instructor knew that I was new, and told me to follow the modifications..well there weren't any. Finally I felt like a big dope so I left, I didn't stay for the whole class. I NEVER walk out of a class and I used to HATE when people did that to me, but I knew that I didnt belong there. It was pretty depressing driving home...first of all I hauled my cookies out for no reason...secondly, I thought I knew dance technique because I was a Jazzercise instructor.....but this was trying out fo the Rockette's kind of thing. I felt like a big loser. Did I go home and eat ? NO WAY...I took my boys to the beach and we had a nice time.....I consider this a minor setback on the way back to fitness...I am bound to hit more road blocks......juts have to keep keepin' on...I'm just annoyed because I feel like I got "cheated": out of a workout.....

that chicken dish sounds good benson..I thnk we need to all go to your house for dinner. I've always wanted to see Colorado. I'll wait another month though to make sure the skiing is in full swing.....then I can go to the club and say "Oh I was just skiing out west" like the rest of those grid mommies......

I think Yoga would just about kill me since I can't empty my mind and relax...I'm too hyper.....I tried that at acupuncture.......Ithink I need some time at a Buddhist temple or something to really get the swing of the mediation thing...I would love to try yoga at this gym though......my three month membership expires the fifteenth so I really want to try to all the classes before I decide whether or not I want to join.......there are some real gym bunnies at this place though, make me feel like a whale..I try and make myself feel better by telling myself they all had work done....it is unnatural for a woman over forty to have a butt that small....and no hips....but I know that I am full of crappola and need to embrace and make peace with my big greek curves......maybe one day...

had to take the boys to dinner instead of making a healthy dinner. Someone was coming to see the house so we had to leave...the healthy choices at Chili's ****ed so I had a hamburger, now I feel that gallbladder stuff acting up again..darnit.....I don't think that I can eat red meat anymore...just as well. I couldnt' believe they didn't have a turkey burger on the menu....and their salads sounded like they were prob. more calories than a hamburger!! .I think i"ll be avoiding that place for a while.......all in all though I had a good day with my babies....They are getting so big, I need a baby so I'm not left alone!!!!!!! Sleventis you have four, can you spare one? I'll take the baby,,,thanks..:)

Okay, i just read an article in some schlocky magazine, and kim kardashian says she is a size two..WHAT? Not for nothing but how can that HUGE butt of hers be a two? A two in which country? Only reason I'm curious is because I have a big butt too and that is what prevents me from taking a smaller size which I could since I have a small waist......i think she's a liar, and i want my $3.49 back for this stupid magazine...this is what happens when the checkout line at the grocery store is slow..the shlock magazines start to look like intelligent reading...yeah, that's me, the mensa member reading about kim's butt in OK magazine..bahhahahahaa..

If you come to New York warn your husband ahead of time that he better be ready to send the bail money western union......I'm pretty conservative and sedate but the right people and the right place and I am dancing on the bar and juggling hooch bottles like on Coyote Ugly........................

I am glad that you gave your daughter a greek name, that is my mother's name, so I would not make fun of it....but you had to add the "Grace" part to make it "cseni"...figures....bahahahahahhahahaha

I'm not sure ewaht the problem was yesterday but the whole gallbladder thing is acting up again. I t hink I went too many hours without eating because I didn't have time for breakfast yesterday morning...(thanks to that nightmare of a dance class)......I gained a lb. too...dang Chili's.....I think if I tried hard enough I could have eaten something healthier but grilled chicken didn't seem appetizing, I have that all the time at home.......

My sons are twelve and eight and I would have liked more children but I had difficult pregnancies. I had prempclampsia with the first one, horrible nausea for nine months with the second one and then I went into post partum mode....i truly do not think I ever recovered because even thinking about those days can send me into a tailspin. My younger son must know he made me sick in utero because he was the perfect baby and toddler and such a pleasure of a child now........my older one is on the cusp of being a teen so the attitude started but nothing major......his voice just started to change...OY VEY....where do the years go?

so that is a little bit more about my life but I won't be posting more than that since there are evil stalkers everywhere.....be careful posting pics of your children too......molesters love pictures............we all say we know that but then I see people being really careless.....posting last names, locations...etc. I googled myself the other day out of curiousity and there is a site called Peekedyou.com and there was my name, my address, age, name of all my families. etc...what the hell? I contacted them and they said that they get all their information from public sources...i'm like that's nice, please take my profile off.....which they did. Now I have change my name, how does Busty Sinclaire sound?

OMG...how scury...I guess you are right though..that must be why my husband is not to keen on anything in regards to our little ones being on the net...period...so thank you....it stinks there are so many sick freaks of nature out there...I know I check those sites often that tell you people who are registared sex offenders that live buy you...due to my own personal issues with crap like that when I was younger I am kinda over the top when it comes to those sites...and now that I have a daughter...sigh...I cant even imagine...I cant even think about it...

I am glad you like her name...my husband and I loved it too...and it was important that there was a greek link with her name...all the other ones I liked have already been used by his family...hahahaha...so many people have sneered when they hear her name...whatever then...kiss off...right!!!!....

ALL of my pregnancies were HORRIBLE girl...I mean bad...but here I am...four kids later..I think part of it being that I was NEVER supposed to be able to have kids...when I was 17 I was in a really bad car accident...I almost died...did not walk for almost 6 months...and they had to surgically put all my female parts back together internally...the dr said I would never play sports again...I played all three sports the following year...he said I would only have less than a 10 percent chance of ever having kids...and that would have to be with lots of help...well...I have four..so...doctors are not ALWAYS right...and I had the worst nausea with them all...and I did get preclampsia with my first...that was terrible...never had the post partum issues until after our last one...I think I was just so overwhelmed with all four of them and then our financial cercumstances on top of that...and the weight thing...is VERY depressing for me....but since I started the Lexparo I feel much better...I still have my moments and days...I was so afraid to go and talk to anyone about it...there is such a stigma attached to it all....

Anywhoo...tomorrow is the start of that company event for my husbands work....bleck...NOT looking forward to it....for the kids sake yes...they are going to have a great time...but personally...meh.....hahahahaha...

On a good note...I hopped on the scale this morning and I am down three more pounds...even though its TOM...so that made for a happy mommy this am.....hahaha....I even made my kids chocolate chip pancakes and was not the least bit tempted....whoo hoo....

Alrighty...I am going to try and exercise tonight after football..wish me luck...haha...AND....go in the morning as well....one good thing about this event...I get to go hiking with my oldest on Saturday...that will be fun!!!...and great exercise...and I am taking my laptop with me....after we get the kids in bed at night I'll HAVE to have my computer fix....hahahaha......

Take care....and take care of yourself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There was this guy on the phen board months ago that used to send people anonymous emails saying terrible things, it was wierd. Then he made up another persona.....another person that posted here....and he said that they met at the mall and he bought her daughter a teddy bear a nd ice cream....winds up he made the whole story up..someone here kenw someone that works for the FBI and traced the computer origins....he was basically a psycho that made up different personalities...but what struck me odd is that he purposely made himself look like he was so nice to this made up person's child, was that a way of getting others to meet him and trust him with their children? Makes you wonder.

That is horrible about your accident, you must have been a strong person to get t hrought hat and go on to play sports.....and how wonderful that you went on to have kids anyway, I've heard other stories like that from people who said their doctors told them they coudln't have kids yet they did.........

Girl i hear you on that company stuff...we go to a few things per year that are obligations and I just want to shoot myself in teh head....thank goodness for alcohol.

YAY on the three lbs...I gained one since yesterday but I am still down two from last week so I'm not stressing....as long as I'm getting to the gym and doing what I need to do I won't be a slave to the scale..for NOW.......

have a good workouit after football..not sure if i'm going to make it to zumba class , it is such a LATE class and I don't think i'll have the energy given my gallbladder is acting up again.

I'm planning on running or walking an iron girl one of these years....until then I look on the website and saw this great article for those that are plagued by the last fifteen lbs and think that they are doing everything right:

How to Lose 15 pound in Just Two and a Half Hours a Day and Eat Anything You Want (just not very much of it)

By Ann Brennan

Okay, so it's not a very catchy title and isn't likely to be on the front of Self or Shape or any other women's fitness magazine anytime soon, but it really is what it took.

After fifteen years of running and worrying about my weight, I felt jipped. How could I possibly still have that last ten pounds to lose? The truth is that the last ten had turned into the last fifteen pounds to lose. I had become a bit desperate. I read every article on diet and nutrition I could find, and I felt like I was doing everything right. I was exercising at least four days a week and had been for fifteen years. I was eating healthy food with the occasional treat. I felt like somewhere somebody was lying. Then about six months ago a scary thing happened. I looked at the calendar and realized that at the end of this year I turn forty. Seriously. So, it was decision time. I could keep doing the same things and gain another five pounds in the next decade or I could do something drastic. The truth is that it was a last resort. I told myself that I would either lose the last bit and get in shape, or I would resign myself to weighing exactly what I did. I knew I was fit, but I wanted to look it. Thus began my quest.

I had read about www.fitday.com Online and had even used it some in the past to keep track of what I was eating and how much I was exercising. Several of the articles I had read discussed the benefits of keeping a food journal and Fitday was the tool I decided to use. There was no real first thing I did - it was not nutrition and then exercise or vice versa. I made a decision that they would go hand-in-hand.

After using the weight goal tool to determine the daily calorie allowance I would be able to consume if I wanted to lose fifteen pounds in six months, I almost gave up. And once I realized that the same calorie allowance was actually a thousand calories lower than the amount I had been eating daily for the past month, I just crawled right back in bed and did give up for about an hour. But then that picture of me gaining five to ten pounds a decade from here on out and never looking like the athlete I knew I was got me motivated. I got out of bed, threw away all of the cookies and chips in the house (sorry sweetie) and got started.

As much as it sounds like it, I didn't starve myself to death. I just changed the way that I ate. I snacked on healthy snacks and ate several times throughout the day to keep from feeling as though I was starving. After reading all of the diet books and magazines over the years, I realized I had become a bit of an expert. I knew the five things you are never supposed to eat because of Dr. Oz. I knew that protein helps you feel full because of Dr. Atkins. And I knew that doughnuts and cookies were not health foods because I do have a little common sense.

The exercise part of the new routine turned out to be fun. Running is wonderful. I love to run and will not give it up. But the same old running routine was not working for me. I needed something more exciting, so I decided to add to the running. The first thing I added was weights on a much more serious basis than just a few dumbbells here and there. I started lifting for an hour four days a week and copying all of the "hot moms" and young muscle buffs in the gym to add to my routine. But I had already tried weights a couple of years back and knew that weights alone would not get me where I wanted. So I did something that has never come easy for me. I thought outside the box. I got creative and decided I didn't care what the other people at the gym thought about this crazy, sweaty lady running throughout the gym. I started a jump roping routine. I wanted something that wouldn't bore me stiff, so once a week I started alternating fifteen minutes of jumping rope and two sets of weights. I would do this for two and a half hours or until the pool of sweat surrounding my feet was so deep I could no longer do it without falling.

I did a similar thing on the treadmill. I would run for five minutes as fast as I could and then alternate it with weights. This had a benefit I hadn't considered. I ran faster than I ever knew I could because it was only five minutes at a time. As a result I became a faster runner. In my past two races I broke out of a ten-year rut and achieved personal bests by over five minutes.

And finally, I tried a new routine that a trainer at the gym created. It was adapted from a workout that he had seen in another magazine. Every exercise I would do that day I had to repeat fifty times. It alternated between strength exercises like pull-ups (I used the machine that gives you assistance since I can't do one pull up much less fifty) and cardio exercises like jumping jacks. After two weeks of doing my jump roping routine and the speedy treadmill workout, I had increased my fitness more than I expected, so I was able to take his routine that was about an hour and add exercises to stretch it another thirty minutes.

I am working out six days a week now, but no two days are alike. I have discovered that pushing myself in this way has not only helped me lose that last fifteen pounds and get more fit than I have ever been, but it has also been a bit of a boredom buster. For fifteen years I felt like if I didn't get my run in when I was supposed to, I was cheating myself. Now if I just don't feel like doing that run I know there is something else I can do. I have added hill runs, tempo runs and even a kickboxing class to my routine to get me over a boredom hump, and I am having a blast every step of the way.

The funny thing about all of this is I thought I was alone. I thought I was the only person out there running the marathons and the triathlons and still not looking fit, but I have been on several weight loss forums and discovered that isn't so. There are a lot of other people who work hard and aren't losing the weight. After six months of this routine, I feel pretty good about how I look. But I still feel a bit jipped. I would love to be one of those lucky people who say to me, "All I have to do is get on my bike and I lose the weight." But then again, if I was one of those "lucky" people maybe I would have never figured out just how far I could push myself and just how much I could accomplish.

Ann lives in Maryland with her husband and three children. When not at the gym or running outside, she spends every free minute chasing a two-year-old or running her older children from High School Cross Country to soccer fields all over two states.

Well today I went to the doctor and was told I have to stop taking Phen... My blood pressure is too high and at such a young age he doesn't want this to damage my arteries or heart.

As soon as I left the doctors office I started to cry and am still really depressed. I have been on phen for 3 months and lost 45lbs. My ultimate goal is to lose a total of 100lbs.

Personally I have not experienced the energy that everyone else talks about, I was only taking 15mg. I have a feeling my schedule doesn't help, I work and go to school full time so M-F I leave the house in the morning at 6:30 and don't return until 11pm.

I just need some support, I have been so motivated and excited being on this medicine. I have changed all my eating habbits and exercise 6 days a week. I am just afraid to be taken off this medicine cold turkey. I don't want to gain any of this weight back...

Awww hon...I'm so sorry. But you know the doctor is right......it isn't good for you to have high bp at any age! I have to get an echocardiogram now becuase my last two EKG's have been abnornal....being thinner isnt worth damaging your heart!

You say that you changed your eating habits and exercise 6 days a week...so what are you afraid of ? continue doing those things..yes it will be harder without phen, but phen didn't do all the work, YOU DID.....phen just helped you as you put your new exercise and eating habits into place.

try and eat more protein to help with the hunger......drink lots of water , etc. anything to try and keep the hunger at bay. You have lost 45 lbs which is fabulous, don't let it all go to see now because you stopped phen. All of us on this thread are in the same boat.

Okay this isn't much of a challenge anymore, now is it? We're trying, but are we REALLY trying? I know that I'm not. I feel really gross right now in my jeans so I'm sitting here typing this as a last ditch effort to get me to goal and to get everyone else motivated. This is what i'm doing differently starting tomorrow:

no bread for a week. I don't care if it just came from the french bakery and it is whole wheat, i can't have it and that is that.

more water...easy to do since i'm at the gym now, but i need to kick it up a notch because it still isn't enough.

hitting that cardio EVERY DAY, and putting that elliptical to use . It took me two dang days to put it together, i may as well use it !! This is in addition to my gym workouts......zumba, cardio classes, yoga....my gym membership expires on the 15th, I want to use it a bit before its done. Not sure if I am going to rejoin depending on what kind of deal they give me and if I think the classes are worth it.

I want to be a gym bunny again...yes, I know I hate gym bunnies, but looking back I see now that I was one of them...people hated ME.....so I need to get pump up the jam......I won't spend this winter hiding under big clothes again.....no freaking way!

OK! those were MY plans, now what are YOURS?

Scat...GREAT ARTICLE....LOVED IT!!!!!....It has alot of great tips....thanks!!!....and I am very game for NO BREAD...I think I need a week or two of the way I was dieting a month ago...and I agree 100%...the more carbs I eat...the more my body starts to crave them...and I am not good at moderation when it comes to them...so I am going to look over my MEDI stuff again....like you said,...not forever...but for a bit!!!...I went shopping tonight...nothing like those mirrors and lights at the stores to make you feel like a big freakin whale..man...that was depressing....I am so frusterated with my back bacon that hasnt gone away yet from the baby...gggrrr....I usually dont have any issues weight wise there...I am hoping these last 15 pounds I have will help get rid of that...and lots of cardio...I know that is the BIGGEST KEY!!!!....and I am not going to let winter pass me by just to have spring get here and still be depressed about my body...I feel as though I have done ok with the weight loss thus far...but I really want to bust my arse this fall and winter so next spring and summer I can wear WHAT EVER i WANT without feeling fat and always pulling and tugging on things...
Tommy gets a bonus (a really good one) here in a few weeks...and I think I want to tell him I want a treadmill...but I feel so selfish...I never ask for anything though...and he is ALWAYS wanting to do something...but like I said...just makes me feel really, really selfish....I dont know...have to think about it some more...
Enjoy your elliptical...I LOVE LOVE those...they are so easy on my hips...my pelvis was broke in eight places from my accident..

So here are my goals...

NO BREAD...AND ONLY CARBS FROM VEGGIES AND A LITTLE BIT OF PEANUT BUTTER...

WATER, WATER, WATER...THIS IS ONE OF MY WORST ISSUES...I have such great intentions of drinking it like I should...but dangit...it never works out that way...I need to be more aware of it....

I really want to get back to workingout like I should be with more regularity...its just hard with the kids...BUT...I need to make it a priority...thank goodness football is over soon...the way I look at it there will always be a reason not to...and I just have to make it happen..period!!!!!

and my last thing is I want to do something new in regards to exercise...try something I havent done before...I dont know what that will be...but will sure let you know...haha....

TINA...WE CAN DO THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!....that will be our mantra next week...NO BREAD....NO BREAD....NO BREAD...hehehehehe

Hope all you ladies have a great Friday.....TAKE CARE!!!

Sleventis good to know that I"m not on athe anti-bread wagon alone...LOL......I"m going out to a swanky place for brunch with a friend this morning and I'm already psyching myself out not to have bread, kind of hard when you are used to eating whole wheat toast with your omelettes, etc. But as God is my witness I will try. If I'm going to to this there can't be any exceptions......I'm trying ot decide when to do the ******** 9 day plan that I bought but I don't think I"m ready for that. Columbus day weekend is our annual trip to the ocean condo and I'm dreading going there feeling bad about myself again. Nothing has really changed in a year. Then February is our annual Bermuda vacation...I didn't look that bad last year because I was training hard core...but even then I wasn't where I wanted to be. I have bikini pics from that trip so I can compare.....So I have some things to motivate me.....I am NOT buying any new clothes so the fact that nothing really fits me and my jeans are very constricting is motivation enough......speaking of which I should put on some constricting ill fitting clothes now and start my day..have a good one everybody...

NO BREAD NO BREAD NO BREAD NO BREAD

NO BREAD????? Oh, man, I don't know if I can do that!!! Instead of no bread, can I do no Pepsi??? That will be pretty tough too because I usually sneak 1 or 2 in a week. I'll have to start tomorrow though because I already drank a few sips today. I tried to do the Atkins before and I literally lasted for about 6 hours. I LOVE my carbs! I was even supposed to give up carbs for my PCOS and I couldn't do that either. I would rather take metformin. Haa haa.

I don't know what the deal is with this website, but it is not working for me lately. It freezes a lot and if I try to reply, it doesn't do anything. That's why I haven't been on much. I know my computer needs an upgrade, but other websites don't give me this much grief. Anyway, I'm here everyone!

And yes, Scat....I'm with you on the NOT REALLY TRYING part. I am doing just enough to psych myself into thinking I'm doing good. But I must not be doing too good because I am up to 145. That's how it works, the weight just slowly creeps back on.

Sleventis...I will do the water thing with you guys too. I, in a nutshell, S.U.C.K. with my water. No matter how much I talk about it, I don't step up to the plate and fix the problem. Okay, that's it, I'm going to go drink a big glass of water right now!!!

Hi Tina. Good to see you!

Have a great weekend everybody!

benson, you don't have to do the no bread thing....make your challenge no pepsi thing.......I don't think having one or two will kill you but I was drinking diet soda all day and it was cutting into my water consumption....not to mention that diet pepsi has aspartame which is like poison and makes me bloated......

I know what you mean about the weight creeping up..I have the ability to gain alot more weight if I'm not conscious of it.....I work hard to stay this small, noone believes me...and trust me i'm not that small.....I look bgger than my weight because I just can't carry weight well on this small frame.....but i've said that so many times I sound like a broken record.

Well I fricked up the first no bread day..ROFL...man, am I pathetic or what. Wasn't a good day to start I guess. Went out for brunch and for dinner....had to have me some bread y'all.....So like Scarlet O'Hara said, tomorrow is another day...or something like that....after Rhett left I don't know why she was so freaking happy...I woulda shot myself in the head, I'm just sayin'........................

My friend told me today that she lost 12 lbs on Master Cleanse and she feels GREAT. Bless her heart, she was already a skinny thing....she says she feels so much healthier..How do you feel healthy just drinking lemonade..shoot.....I need to investigate further...she stirred my curiousity.

Hope everyone is having a nice evening.....I won't be eating past 7pm anymore so this is it for me tonight :)

Hey y'all...I was not able to do the no bread thing this weekend but I'm not stressing it. I will start tomorrow. I did eat healthy today when we went to a turkish restaurant for lunch.....only thing I did wrong was have some pita bread, which goes against the no bread rule. Because that was a big lunch all things considering I am ging to have a light dinner and start the "nothing after 7pm " rule. That worked out well for me last Feb. when I was on one of the challenges.....I'm doing my squats and lunges tonight (Mapgirls' orders!) and planning my workouts for the rest of this week. Off to the store now to buy some healthy stuff for the week...
