Hi Everyone!

First of all please allow me to say how happy I am that I have rejoined these boards. I was a member about 4ish years ago, and although I didnt post all that much, I received so muchsupport, inspiration and motivation from reading everyone's postings. I took Phen (ordered online - ahh, the old days!) for about 6 months with great results. And, miracle of miracles, I kept the weight off until just the last year and a half, when I started Lexapro to help me through a RIF, my mother's cancer, and my 5-year b/f (who I thought was my rock) leaving me for a girl he'd met the week before. Now, I am at the heaviest I've ever been and, despite exercising 3-4 times a week and eating correctly, am having an incredibly hard time dropping the weight!

So, thats where this post comes in. I've called a couple of places here in Austin TX to meet with a doctor for a ** based off some recommendations I've read on this board. Dr. Moella-Ruiz at ADC isnt taking new patients until September though and the "TX Weight Loss Clinic" - though it sounds great - isnt really an option since (gulp!) the lady said there said that they HAVE TO draw blood. I just can't do that. I am unreasonably TERRIFIED of needles....I remember once I got my blood drawn about 3-4 years ago (just a standard cholesterol check, and everything was fine) and the doctor gave me a ** for 6 Xanex's to help me remain calm. He told me to take 1 before getting blood drawn. I took 2, and I STILL almost leapt out of the chair! It was tragic!!

So, that being said, I was wondering if anyone had another suggestion of a doc here in town that I could go see for an **? Any suggestions are REALLY appreciated, and again - I'm glad to be back!!

Thanks!

You should look into:

Physician's Way Weight Loss
2416-B S. Lamar Blvd.
Austin, TX 78704
Phone: (512) 440-1800

If they want to draw blood, then ask them for any recommendations!!

Good luck to you....and I feel your pain...I went through the same thing. Lost all the weight..was where I wanted to be..kept it off, and then BAM..it was right back on!
Hang in there...it will get better :)

I've seen two different doctors (was trying to find a cheaper and closer one) and they both said they do bloodwork. They do not do it until the 2nd visit though. I'm a big baby too about bloodwork, won't get into the reason why. I ask to lie down (you can also ask for a butterfly needle - it is MUCH smaller than the normal ones they use) and then I keep trying to remember to breath while they do it and then I lay there for 5-10 minutes afterwards. I sit up and drink OJ and eat crackers and then with approval I stand. If all goes well...I then leave;) Good luck!
