Same Post I thought maybe changing the title would yield most needed assistance

Hello Board!!!
I am posing a question to all members who have successfully obtained a prescription for Phen from their PCP. I am off work for the summer and I am feeling guilty about spending the money on the weight loss clinic, things are tight. My BMI is 34.3 my waist is above 35 inches. But I feel like I need to prepare an argument before going on Friday. I have been seeing my doc for more than 10 years so he has witnessed my gradual weight gain which is about a steady 10 lbs a year. So I am asking the board for two things:
1. If you get your prescription from your family doc(PCP) what were your stats(weight and BMI, etc. ) and your argument ,if you had to present one.
2. If you tried to get as prescription from your PCP and he/she refused you what was he/she's argument and what were your stats.

I think that my PCP argument will be that besides the weight I am in great physical condition , my Blood pressure, cholesterol, sugar levels are excellent. My insurance will pay for the drugs and my co-pay would only be $3. Also I feel like the grade of Phen would be BETTER than what I get at the weight loss clinic. So please I am interested in all of your thoughts and suggestions. Please answer even if the 2 questions don't apply but you want to give suggestions. EVERYONE'S HELP IS ALWAYS APPRECIATED

IM VERY LUCKY MY DR. PRESCRIBED IT TO ME WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS.

MY ADVICE TO U WOULD BE TO GO ONLINE AND PRINT OUT THE PROS AND CONS OF PHEN. AND MAKE SURE YOUR APPOINTMENT TIME IS LONG ENOUGH THAT THE DR. WONT FEEL RUSHED. THE MORE TIME U HAVE TO GO OVER YOUR INFO THE BETTER. IF YOU SHOW THAT YOU HAVE EDUCATED YOURSELF ON THE MED THEN MAYBE HE WILL FELL BETTER ABOUT GIVING IT TO YOU.
I WORK AT A DR. OFFICE AND TRUST ME THE MORE TIME YOU HAVE FACE TO FACE WITH THE DR. IS BETTER. MOST APPTS. ARE SET FOR 15 MINS CALL AND ASK FOR 30 MINS. BE SURE TO BRING A LIST OF ALL YOUR ARGUMENTS TO THE CONS.

HOPE THIS HELPS

TY Trish. I will take material and I think it will help if he knows I am seeking counseling to deal with overeating as a behavior

I went to a hokey medical weight loss doctor that advertised in a local paper. I went and was waiting for him to throw me out of his office since I didn't have alot to lose compared to others. He had no problem writing me the scrip, I told him that I was working out and eating healthy but my metabolism was at an all time stop..and I just wanted to lose some to feel comfortable and healthy. He wasn't concerned at all, i guess it is all about money, or maybe he thought since I have such a small frame that I was carrying too much weight on it, which was the truth.....

YOu need to find an open minded doctor....and finding one that is a medical weight loss doc would up your chances of getting phen......my doctor does not give the shots or anythng else....and was relatively inexpensive even though he didn't do much besides take my blood pressure and ask me some questions.

You might also check with your gynecologist. I went in for my yearly exam and she mentioned my weight and I told her that I was gonna mention it and see if there is something I could do. And she prescribed me the phen. I didn't have to plead my case or anything.
