View Full Version : Second, Third, Fourth. Etc./Summer Meltdown Challenge
LZ
May 30th, 2008, 10:47 AM
Welcome all. My name is LZ and I am a foodaholic. Only through constant diligence can I lose and someday hopefully maintain a healthy weight. I have been seriously battling my weight since 3/2006. I was down to my goal of 138 as recently as two months ago according to my Dr’s scale but have had been at odds with the scale for all of the usual reasons and excuses since then. This morning I am down to 149.8, so my starting weight will be
150!
More than likely, if you are on this forum, you have tried losing weight more than once. You can substitute your number for the etc. in the name of the challenge. I’m sure a lot, like me couldn’t even begin to estimate the number. Mine is probably at least the 99th .
This challenge will run from 6-1 with the last weigh-in due by Sunday, August 31st.
Feel free to join anytime, but please make a commitment to follow through.
Provide your beginning weight as soon as you can. First week weigh-in will be from 6/6-6/12. This week everyone can pick the day of the week they like to weigh the best. Everyone should have at least the following goals for this challenge.
1. Weight loss of a certain number of pounds. Mine is 12; 1 for each week.
2. Drinking certain number of ounces of water per day. Mine is 75 ounces or ˝ my body weight.
3. Exercise – very important! I will do 45 minutes of exercise at least 4 times per week. Set your own goal based on your history and ability. Strive to increase your exercise over time.
If you have other goals you would like to set also list them. I will track the weight, but each week when you post your weight let us also know how you’re doing on your other goals. For me, I need to post daily whenever possible to keep myself accountable. My other goals include.
• If I bite it, write it! I need to keep myself accountable by writing down every bite that goes into my mouth. I do too much mindless snacking.
• Reduce my waist size by 3 inches. Starting measurement 34”.
Each Sunday I will post a challenge for the following week. It might be a certain exercise or food to try. Feel free to PM me any suggestions.
Finally, introduce yourself. Share as much as you are comfortable sharing.

Hey LZ, I'm here!!! I'm scared to even find out what I weigh now, haven't gotten on the scales in quite a while, but know from the way my clothes are fitting that I've gained (they used to hang and bag on me, and now they fit fine!) So I'll get on the scale and give my starting weight over the weekend, along with my personal bio -- let's get this party started!! :)

Okay here it goes.
I am 28 soon to be 29 in September. I am married and have a 10 year old daughter and a 6 year old step-son. My work requires no physical activity. I was always chubby as a little kid and thinned out some when I hit puberty but always thought of myself as fat. I haven't seen the 100s since I was 16. My biggest weakness are sweets. Hubby and I would like to have a baby together and are shooting for sometime next year which is a great motivator for me to loose all this weight.
So here are my goals for Summer 2008 Challenge:
1. Loose at least 25 lbs (around 8 lbs a month) CW 253 (will Edit on Sunday if needed)
2. Walk 3 miles in the morning 4 x a week.
3. Do 45 minutes to 1 hour of cardio 5 to 6 times a week.
4. Drink at least 80 oz of water a day.
5. Weigh myself only once a week (this one will be very very hard!)
Oh I'll weigh in on Fridays.

This should motivate me, so I'm in.
Hi, my name is Yolanda ( nickname Yogie ) I live in Pennsylvania. My weaknesses are chocolate, and mt dew sodas. I slacked off the sodas, but I still have chocolate now and than. I have been athletic since 5th grade but after my 3rd child I became lazy and never lost the pregnancy weight. Its been 3 years. I hope to get rid of my back fat, and this huge fat on the back of my neck.
My goals are:
1) To work out at least 5 days a week
2) To make better food choices
3) To learn not to stress out because I'm not losing fast enough

5} To be a size 9 by september
Good luck y'all

Hey girlies. I'm back. LZ- thank you sooooo much for starting this. I actually made an appointment yesterday for a clinic here in town. I go in on Monday to weigh-in.
1. Weight loss-20 pounds...totally doable for me.
2. 100 ounces of water per day...again, doable...a little harder
3. Exercise- 30 minutes per day...doable..but will be hard since I haven't been so good about working out in a few...months. :(
I think only a few of you that are still on here know me. :) I've been on this site for...2 years? Maybe 3? I started out originally at 230+. I *think* that I'm about 215 right now. Maybe more. At one point I was down to 184. There's really no excuse for me gaining back the weight. I've had an emotional year...but that's no excuse. As I said before, I'm going to the weigh-loss clinic on Monday, so I will weigh-in then, and we'll go from there.
Nice to meet you all.

Hi all. Great response. Welcome to all the phrends I know.
Cndy, glad you back. I was going back to Doc yesterday, but they closed at 1 and I could not get there by then. So, I hope to go next week when daughter has a day off and I'm don't have a committment. We'll see. For now, i have started taking some Phen-D that Doc had given daughter to curb her nighttime cravings. It helps some. I am concerned he won't want to fill my phen because I've been bad
Happy Yogie, nice to meat you. Great goals! Chocoloate is one of my big weaknesses, but only since I became an adult. I liked sweets in general as a kid, but did not crave them like I do now. Go figure!
Tan, great goals for you too. I will pray for you. Outside our controlled environment is hard. Sometimes I have no controlled environment.LOL What do you do at the hospital?
Pooh, great to meet you. What a good motivator and so important. You are doing your health a greeat favor by losing the weight first. I am also proud you are taking this step in your twenties. I wish I had.
Lucie, I know I have met you on the boards before, but am not sure we have participated in a challenge together.
OK, back in a bit to do my personal info.

I am LZ. I am the 43 y/o SAHM (OK, I am a rancher with 11 cows:p) of an 18 y/o girl who graduates today! YIPEE! (I can't stay on too long this morning.) I also have a 10 y/o son who has one more week of elementary school and then will be in middle school next year. Two great kids, although we have our moments as all kids and parents do.
I thought I had a weight problem when I was 12, but really didn't develop one until I got pregnant w/my 18 y/o and gained 50 pounds. However, I am still trying to lose that baby weight !
I live in far North Texas. We have around a total of 43 acres and live outside a small community. I have three dogs and two cats along with the 11 cows. Oh and a big vegetable garden. It is just starting to produce. So far, I have small potatoes, onions, lettuce and a few peas. This really helps my motivation in eating vegtables. I can't wait for the tomatoes!
We recently aquired a camper, so will be doing some camping this year.
I did very well on writing down what I ate yesterday, It wasn't too pretty since I took daughter to Red Lobster for lunch. Today won't be too pretty either as we are going to the Chinese buffett after graduation. I committ to my phrends here that I will make sure what I get is what I really want and I will put paper in my purse and write it down to report to you. If it doesn't taste good I will not finish it just because I got it and I will not feel like I have to eat everything to get my moneys worth. Do you think that will help me?
I did also weed in the garden yesterday, but will start the formal exercise for sure tomorrow June 1. I did get my water in.
Have a great day!

Yes, I think a fresh start and a new challenge will do me some good.
My name is Scat and I am an emotional eater. My weight over my lifetime has been a roller coaster. I am trying to get the last of the lbs off and it is a challenge. These are not vanity lbs, I really need to get smaller to get my cholesterol down and prevent diabetes that runs in my family....looking good again in a bathing suit wouldn't hurt.

My starting weight for this challenge is 136.8
My personal goals for this week are:
To drink 2 litres of water a day
Research a new gym and join it
NO eating after 7:30pm
continue my colon cleanse fiber
My eating plan for the week will be:
protein shake with fiber in the morning
eggs, oatmeal or sandwich for lunch.
protein and vegetables for dinner.
snacks will be lite cheese, an apple or other type of fruit, greek fat free yogurt..occasionally some dark chocolate (70 percent). I'm going to miss my snackies but this is how it is going to be for a while. If I do have a bread of any sort it will be a midmorning snack or with lunch, not dinner. No pasta, no rice (I gave them up a long time ago).
I am giving up diet soda and going through some kind of withdrawal, last night i was ready to go to 7-11 in my pajamas and buy a big gulp!

Good morning, great to see new names and new phrends to meet! My name is Val, and I am a mom of two grown daughters and one adorable grandson! My 30th wedding anniversary is coming up at the end of this month, and I want to be in a smaller size when we celebrate it - emotional eating is my enemy, and that is what I must get under control. I have bad knee joints, so most of my exercising is riding my stationary bike. I just went through a very emotional last 2 weeks, where my MIL was first in intensive care, but is improving and is now in a regular room; doctors say she may be able to go home next week!! Ate a lot of food during this stressful period, didn't exercise, drink water or take my phen, and gained back weight. Not happy with myself for losing control like that, but we almost lost MIL and she is everything to me. So I'm starting this challenge at 218, and want to make my goal weight 198 (Onederland), and I know I can do it!
My goals are:
a) to exercise at least 30 minutes 5 times a week
b) to take at least 30 minutes each day for me, to shut out everything and do some positive thinking alone
c) to drink lots of water every day
d) to increase my intake of vegetables and proteins and lower my carb intake
e) to be sure to take my phen every day

Good Morning all!! My name is Meghan and I am addicted to food. I'm 23 years old and currently working entry level for a real estate company.
I hope no one is too upset with me for dissapearing:( I felt really bad about it (which is also why I have prolonged my return....makes no sense, i know!), but this move was way more stressful than I had anticipated!! For those of you who are newer, I moved to NYC from NC this past February and after 3 months of signing on here religiously, I sort of just fell of the face of the Earth. I went through a time where I had no kitchen; I haven't had internet in my home for a month and since my most recent move to Queens from NY I cannot find decent food in my neighborhood for the life of me! This is going to take a ton of planning and organizing...
I have learned a lot about myself through this though- the most obvious is that I use food to comfort me. I am back here this time with the hopes of not only redeveloping my healthy lifestyle, but tackling the mentality that "food will solve my problems". I left this site in Feb weighing like 194ish and now Im over 210 again:( (and SOO depressed and ashamed).
Scat- so much to update you on! I now live in Woodside, LOL. So much for the high rent prices. I actually moved here because it allows me to live alone, which I just love:) Where are you again? ALSO- where on earth do you get your phen!?! I can't find it ANYWHERE up here unless you want to pay $90/ 2 weeks. Also, can we still meet up for lunch sometime!?
LZ- I see you are up on the scale too...We are totally in this together girl:)
OK...my goals:
1) August 1st I want to weigh 185. I think this is doable since it would be aobut 2# per week, not taking into account that usually the first week I lose 6-8 lbs.
2) work out 5 times a day. I can run about 1 mile consecutively right now. I'd like to be able to run at least 3-4 miles (LIKE I WAS DOING!)
3) eat 1200 calories or less daily.
4) try to not give in to the munchies I get after a day of drinking; and especially try my best to still make it to the gym on these days.
5) drink at least 80 oz of water, which is not too tough for me.
6) Look forward and not behind:)
I am going to make my weigh in day Saturday morning. I tend to really fall apart starting Thursday at Happy Hour and lasting until Sunday. If I weigh in Saturday, it will encourage me to stick with my plan Thu/Fri and then I am going to allow myself to relax a little and have a semi-free day on Saturday.
OK, so my fresh start begins tomorrow! As for now I am going into the city to see Sex and the City, then hitting the grocery store and coming home to prepare/plan meals for the week!! I am soo happy to be back here!!!:)

I just read the posts before and realized that you are still here CD!! That makes me soo happy:)
Onederland slipped through my fingers like a wet bar of soap and I'm pretty upset and embarrassed about it. None of the suits that my Mom bought me on that shopping trip in Feb. fit anymore:(
Anyways, I know I'll do well with your sweet words and encouragement! Glad to hear MIL is doing better....that must have been very hard.

I guess I didn't really introduce myself very well. I'm a 27...no, wait...28 year old mother of 3. I work at a company that does online technical support. I work friday-monday from 12am-10:30am so that I can be home with my kids during the week. During those four days(today included) I am pretty much a zombie. I sleep most of the day, get up about 10pm, and head off to work. I have been eating TERRIBLY, and not exercising a bit. I just found out this week that my 10-year high school reunion is October 4. So that gives me exactly 4 months to get into some semblance of actual shape...other than round. I figure I could do a great deal of damage control in 4 months. I have some long-term goals to get me through. For right now, though...I need to focus on this short term goal. Again, LZ, thank you for starting this, and thinking to email me. I'm so glad to be back.

Meeeggghhhhaaannnn!!!! Hey gurl!!! So glad to see you back, missed you so much!!! Yep, I'm here, and as my new ticker says, I'm in this weight loss journey for the long haul!! :) Thanks so much for your comments about my MIL; I call her mom because that is what she is to me, and for the past two weeks, hubby and I have gone to see her every day, and in addition, I would hop on the train to be with her during my lunch hour, so I'm visiting her twice a day during the week!! She's precious and I love her so much, and she treats me just like I'm her own child, she's so precious ...
When you get a chance, take a moment and read through the posts in the "It's a New Season" Challenge that ran the last couple of months, yep, I was the leader for that one (LZ's schedule was so busy during that time, and we wanted to continue to share the luv, so I stepped in for her!) -- I am so glad you're back, and gurl, when I weighed myself this morning, I almost had a spell!! I had gained a lot of weight in such a short period of time. I was so close to Onederland, and now I've got a longer walk to get there, but gurl, I'm gonna get there!!!!
Gotta run, doing a bit of cleaning and cooking before heading back to the hospital - let's lose this weight together, as Dianne Warwick would sing, that's what phrends are for!!! :D
P.S. - have you been in contact with Resmoo lately?

Hi all. Well after I worked so hard yesterday controlling myself I had 2 T chocolate frosting and 1 T PB:mad: before midnight my time last night. I had the craving bad and got it out of the way before today this new start day.
So far today I had 11/2 T ff creamer for my coffee;a slim-fast before church because I didn't get my protein shale made in time and a small salad with chicken breast for lunch at home.
I am so excited to see old phrends and to meet new ones.:) I am going do do a parrallel challenge on sparkpeople because I have at least one old phrend who cannot get back on this site after several tries. So check in over there if you are on it. It is a free site and where I track my food so that will be helpfull. I'm not nearly as familiar with that site so I am having to adjust.
Meg, yes I am up and I was virtually at goal for about 1 second.:p My docs scale is really a couple pounds lighter than the TOPS scale and that is my offical weigh in tool. My home scale is very close to the TOPS scale. For my height (5'3")10-12 pounds is a lot to gain in a couple of weeks. So much harder than losing it!
CD, my Mom was in ICU expectedly about three weeks ago. O talked to her at noon and at 3:30 they took her to the ER w/respiratory distress. My brother called me in a panic saying the Doc thought I needed to get up there (OKC). So I drove up and she was bad that weekend. She is m uch better now and back to the nursing home. I am moving her to the next town from me tentatively on June 24. I am excited.
Oh, Daughter graduated yesterday. I was so excited, especially after the start of our year.
Pooh, I'll have to check out your myspace. I started a space, but have not set it up totally yet.
Hi Nicole, five girls! Bless you. This is a great group to help with your weightloss and life journey.
Son still has one more week of school. There is a baccalaureate service for the seniors in his district tonight. I am going to that and then I think I will go to the track for some exercise.
I am watching the NASCAR race now, so I will TTYL. I need to post our challenge for the first week.

this week is going ot be a hard one for me, the thing is my 9 yr old's father died this morning, My daughter lives with him and his parents in north carolina. Now im planning to go up there tomorrow or tuesday morning to be there with her. Thats an 18 hr drive and im not sure if i can do 3 days of low carb on the trip.
i may have to do the carb addict meals for the trip? I know i dont want to let myself go and eat junk the whole way.
today i followed the carb addicts diet and its not hard. I had all low carb meal except for a smart one dessert.
b- 2 boiled eggs, 1oz of baked chicken
l- salad, tyson chicken breast strips, salad spritszers dressing
s-smart one double chocolate cake.
d- 2 round eye steaks, fired plantains
s- snickers
im add to edit this post because i managed to sabatoge myself stll with a snickers and fired plantains.
In my defense i had to eat the plantains now because they will rot while im gone.

Hi all...for those that wished me well for my father thank you. Dad was moved out of the ICU and is now recovering on a regular floor. He made good friends with the puerto rican man he shares a room with and listening to them talk to one another is pretty funny.....I'm glad he has someone to pass time with while I'm not there, and he has a t.v. now too so that he can watch the news. (he's big into knowing what is going on in the world)....he seems a bit stronger and he ate today for the first time in five days......he wouldn't eat yesterday, I think he was depressed.
I on the other hand ate for him. I went to the hospital cafeteria yestserday and had a bag of chips and a piece of apple pie..I could have made better choices, I just didn' t want to . The stress of driving back and forth to the city and being sleep deprived has caught up with me. I haven't gained weight but I"m hoping to get back on track tomorrow......I need to take care of myself so that I can take care of my father and dysfunctional family. I want to know why I have a brother and a sister but I"m the only one visiting my dad and taking care of him? As soon as he is feeling better i"ll start kicking butt....right now my focus is on HIM and my mother who has her own share of health problems.
I haven't worked out in two weeks or so..my fitness center is officicially closed, I'm going there tomorrow to clean out my cabinet and drop off the keys to the landlord....I'm leaving some stuff behind and I don't care..I'm happy to rid myself of that place and the negative students. I'll be looking into a gym this week to work out at for ME and not for the sake of getting others in shape.
okay now to holla to my girls...
MAMI....don't be so hard on youreslf if you can't keep totally low carb. You will be on the road and not in your environment. Just do what you have to to be with your daughter during this difficult time..........
SEVEN...HOLY CRAP girl! I wondered about you. How did you go from finance to real estate? sounds exciting, I want to learn more and yes we will get together. Woodside is on my train line I think.....I think life in NYC is overrated unless you have money up the wazoo....having roommates isn't fun. My cousin is successful and 36 years old and she still has a room mate...it is just impossible to really live well in NYC, prob. why I never moved out of the outerboroughs to go into manhattan although it looks like alot of fun on the show "Friends" I know the real story.
LZ..good to know your mom is moving closer...how much easier will that be so you can look out for her.....by the way did I tell you that I love cows...they are my favorite animal...kind of weird that a bronx girl likes cows but they just seem like such gentle animals....a baby cow licked me once and it was love at first lick..bahahahahhaha

OK, we'll start off fairly easy this time.
For our first weekly challenge, please make sure you get your goals posted. Then each morning look at your goals and decide that you will hit all your goals each day. At the end of the day review them again and see how you did.
I can't get to the pretty fonts and larger sizes at this time. So plain it is.:D

Good Morning!
So the damage was worse than I thought: 212.4!! YUCK!!! I am having trouble not get angry with myself over this, I mean 20# in 2 months? come on Meghan....
But, as my rule stated....I am looking forward, not to the past! I am here and ready to get back to my old ways!! Speaking of which, I need to keep this short so I can make it to the gym before work. I'll check in again once I get to my desk.
Scat- I missed whatever you posted about your Father, but I am glad to hear that he is doing well! I cannot imagine how tough that would be.
I need to make an apointment for more phen. Who do you see up here? is it a weight loss specialist or family doc..?
Mia- My thoughts are with you.
Tenacious- Welcome:)
LZ- Congrats on your daughters graduation! That is very exciting!

I'll be on and off today, have to make up for the household stuff that I couldn't do the last week while at the hospital. Not sure if I'm going today, it is so hard driving into the city and having noone here to watch the kids when they get home from school.....
Despite all this I am going to try and watch what I'm eating today. Exercise is out of the questin and the last thing on my mind.

I did well yesterday on my menu. 1227 calories/33GM Fat Very well balanced and only whole grain carbs. I did not exercise, but did well on my water.
Today so far...
Exercise--45 minute power walk with 10 or so flights of bleachers thrown in. Yeah!!!!:D
I am going back to review the rest of my goals for today. I think I'll write myself a notecard as I have that CRS (can't remember sh*t).
Scat, WTG on still trying to control your intake. Send the kids home with mine on the bus.LOL If it were only that easy.
Meg, that is no worse than me since you are so much taller. We are back on track now. Hopefully the Docs will cut us some slack and refill that med.
Welcome Tenacious, can't wait to meet you.

I'm going to add to my #1 goal. I have lose twelve pounds. How am I going to do that? Balanced diet with limited white carbs and staying within the calorie range of 1100-1500. Ideal for me is around 1200 calories per day.

Just a quick check in. It's still early here in the Westcoast so not much to say about eating except I had 4 pieces of bacon for breakfast and I have drank 1 bottle of water of the 6 I drink daily. It's TOM so my scale is adding an extra 2 lbs that I know has to be water retention ughh. I did go walking with hubby this morning but I think we only did about 1.5 miles this time and I admit it's my fault. I couldn't go to sleep last night and ended up falling asleep at 1 a.m. and the alarm rang at 5:30. I have a piercing headache and my eyes are burning. I definitely need a nap when I get home before my cardio workout. Check in with you later.
Here's to an awesome week 1 for our summer challenge!!!
Mid-day check in
L- small salad with 3 oz of steak
On my 5th bottle of water. 1 more to go. :)
Evenning check in
Salad with ranch dressing and boiled chicken
1 hour of Tae Bo Boot Camp
I drank about 152 oz of water today

Workout was good this morning: 40 minutes of cardio and 10 minutes of stretching and ab work. Cardio was 20 min on the eliptical, 10 on the cross trainer and 10 minutes of running. Total calories burned: @ 500
Food:
B- Fiber1 bar (140); coffee (25)
S- Watermelon (25); 2 cookies:mad: (280)
Total so far: 470
I am heading out to lunch to get a salad. Dressing will be lemon juice and red wine vinegar. I think I am going out to a Thai place with my cousin for dinner. This is always tough because we always share a few entrees and they do the ordering since they typically know what's good on the menu. I am really going to stress that I need to eat healthy.

Good morning Ladies!
Hi LZ, I just got your e-mail so count me in!!!!!!!!
My name is Veronica and I am a 41 Single Mom of two teenage daughters. I have been yo-yoing with this weight for too long already.
I have already dropped 13 pounds from all that I had gained back and am ready to not only get to where I was before, but pass that and finally meet my goal weight.
I am doing the SB diet, but will give into my cravings as I need to, just in moderation. I have been walking/jogging about 10 to 15 miles a week up one of the local mountains and will continue to do this. My problem is the WATER! I will do my best to get my water in, be it plain or flavored.
What's on the menu for today:
Breakfast was Two hard boiled eggs and one oz of String cheese
Lunch will be chicken and a garden salad

Im just sliding in on this challenge. Im going to call this my FIRST Summer Meltdown - not because I havent tried to lose weight in the past, but because this will be a first success.
My starting weight is 214 as of this morning. I will weigh in on Tuesdays, so I will add to my signature tomorrow morning. I hope to lose 30 (yes THIRTY) pounds on this challenge - 2.5 pounds a week. So my goal weight for the end of August is 184 or less. Lofty perhaps, but attainable.
I am going to do the Komen breast cancer walk in November so my primary exercise is on the treadmill. I am going to the gym 5 days a week and walking for at least an hour. I have been tracking my distance and my goal is to add 1 mile per week.
I am also starting to jog a little. I can manage to jog for about 2 minutes at a time but I really hope to increase this over the next 3 months.
I want to develop eating habits and an exercise routine that I can live with for the rest of my life. I wont be counting calories, carbs or fat. I have drastically reduced the amount that I have been eating and improving the quality of my food choices. I am eating slower and enjoying my food instead of eating as fast and as much as I can. I stop eating when I am satisfied and well before I feel full. I find that I am finding that "satisfied" spot earlier and enjoying my meals more.
I am going to stick to drinking only water. I am also taking a multi-vitamin, fish oil and increasing my fiber.
I am also working really hard on setting a better example for my kids. I dont want them to ever have to battle with their weight. I want them to understand from the beginning what it takes to have a healthy lifestyle. Body image has all but consumed me and I dont want my children to face that.
So I am going to do this right this "first" time because I plan to look forward and not in the past as it has been said before.

S- Watermelon (25); 2 cookies (280)
L- Salad with curry chicken salad (350)
S- skim latte (80) and a few almonds (50)
D- black bean quesadilla w/ tomato and onion (375)
6 oz white wine (125)
Total: 1450 minus at least 500 cals from cardio this morning!
Water was at least 80 ounces
Scat- thanks SO much for the advice! Im going to try online! The medical weight loss centers are the places that charge $90/2 weeks- so rediculous!
Must do the dishes and get to bed so I can wake up early tomorrow and hit the gym! I think Im going to do yoga from 7-8 and maybe run for like 20 minutes.
Hope everyone had a fabulous Monday!

Meghan, you did great today!!! Keep it up.
My focus tomorrow will be first of all not to step on the scale. I have my next doctor weigh in on Wed and want to hold out until then. It will be 1 month on phen....little nervous there lol. Second, I want to do my 3 miles of walking tomorrow morning. I only did 1.5 today and felt terrible lol. I really think that not doing any type of exercise on Sunday made it hard today so I might have to rethink about Sunday being an exercise free day.

Meg, great job!
Tenacious, got your weight goal? What kind of diet/exercise are you doing?
Welcome TruLu.
I am kind of dissappointed we didn't have more posts today. Is everyone reviewing their goals?
I did good today and stayed in calories/carb/fat ranges. I did have some white carbs I should not have eaten. So my goal for tomorrow, no more than 1 serving of a white carb. I have some low fat lasagna I have my eye on.
I did my exercise, drank my water and wrote everything down.
Great day#2!

So...here's a copy of my blog from spark people. My weigh in was 222. Vomit. So, let's change my goal to 22 pounds. Ok, well I went to the doctor yesterday. I'm 5 pounds more than I thought I was. So that means I have 87 pounds to lose. Ugh. I got my b12 shot, and got a prescription to help me out. So, I've set a goal of losing 22 pounds by Aug 31. I will be recording my food intake and my workouts on a daily basis. I will be going in each monday to be weighed, so my ticker will be updated on a weekly basis. I also will put up new pics on a monthly basis. So we all have that to look forward to. ;) NOT. Anyway...that's all for today.

Good morning phrends! Last night I had an argument with the hubby so this morning he didn't wake up to go walk with me but I still went on my own. I acutally did 5 miles today WOOHOOOOOOOOOO. I came home and made scrambled eggs with sausage and have already drank 2 bottles of my 6. Oh and I did NOT step on the scale :). Happy Tuesday everyone.
Mid-day Check In
Well I skipped lunch! Ughh. I had to take my daugther into the doctor this morning so by the time I got in to the office it was already 12 and didn't have time to go buy a salad. :( I have drank 4 bottles (67 oz) of water so far.
Sorry I didn't get to update last night. I had a small salad with grilled chicken last night and did about an hour of Zumba and 15 minutes of Tae Bo.
Drank all my water. :)

I had been going to the gym at 5:30 everyday but it was leaving me exhausted by mid afternoon. I cant make it to bed at night until around midnight. So today I slept in until 7 and hit the gym at around 9:00. I walked 5 miles in 86 minutes with a variable incline. My calories burned count was right at 600 by the end. I really felt (and smelled) like I got a good workout today.
Breakfast was a protein shake, lunch was a chicken wrap with avocado lettuce and tomatoes. Dinner tonight will be lentils and a tomato/onion salad.
Ive had about 1.5 liters of water so far and hope to at least double that by the end of the day.
Overall I feel pretty good about how the day has been going.

LZ~i got your private message and was so touched that you remembered me and wanted me to join in!
So, for those of you that do not know me...
My name is Kimberlee and I live in Upstate NY with the most amazing husband ever. I have done this weight loss journey and was quite successful. I hit a bump in the road on December 6th though. I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer!
They day the doctor told me I had cancer I ran 6 miles...6 miles straight, no stopping! I was in the process of training for a half marathon and honestly never felt better in my life. So, I had surgery in January and subsequent treatment in February. The good news is: I am cancer-free! The bad news: this might just be the only cancer that puts weight on!
I went without a Thyroid or any hormone replacement for over 2 months. I was told by my doctor that I would gain weight, but as time was going on and I did not gain, I was thrilled. I thought I beat the gaining odds. NOPE..it came on and it came on fast. I gained 26 pounds in about 5 1/2 weeks. It was so awful and discouraging to step on the scale every day and gain 1 pound every day or more!
I actually have just begun to feel like myself. I have tried to run, but ah, no! Its a no go!I I am so ready to get this weight back off and continue to lose and get healthier. I will be completely accountable with what I eat, but I can not make any promises or challenges that revolve around exercise. I will get there, but it will be much slower than I want it to be. In fact, I have a long term goal of running my first half marathon Veterans Day Weekend, in OBX...MEGHAN....you in?
Ok..with the cancer weigh gain, my starting weight is 196. That was Monday morning and I have been counting calories for 2 days. Calories yesterday totaled 796 and today was 862. i drink between 80-100 oz of water a day too.
So, that is my story.....looking forward to catching up with all of you, I have missed you...and getting to know the newer people.
Good luck to all....lots all kick some major booty!

today I may not get to the hospital, I have to go to work. I may go late tonight. What I eat is really not priority...I'm exhausted. It is an hour to the hospital and an hour back......Last night I ordered pizza for the kids and I ordered a grilled chicken hero. I hate take out food but I just don' t have the energy to cook.
Raining cats and dogs today.....I'm kind of glad, because yesterdday dad said he hated the fact taht it was a nice day outside and he couldn't go outside.
love you people so much for giving me a place to go to every day and vent....

BRATTY! Hey you! I'm so glad to see you! :)
Ok, so here's my blog copy/paste for the day:
So I hit the gym for the first time in months yesterday. Did 25 minutes on the treadmill, tricep extensions, lateral raises, seated rows, and chest press. THEN I went to a water park with the kids...and walked up those stairs and ramps for 3 hours. Needless to say, I am in mass amounts of pain today. :) But it's awesome. It means I did something good for myself. I'll probably hit the gym again today for some more cardio, but I think I'll skip the strength training today. I did NOT do so good with the food and water yesterday, though I did exhibit self-control with the foods I did eat...and that's a huge plus.
That's all.

Good morning ladies!
I'm sorry I haven't posted personals to any of you. A lot of you are new and some not . . .like you Brat! Nice to see you here :p Once office life settles down a little, I will have more time to do personals.
Yesterday was a very good day for me as far as food is concerned.
B - 2 hard boiled eggs and string cheese
L - 2 pieces of chicken and a large salad again
D - Took the girls to the Souplantation - pigged out on salad
I also did 2 1/2 miles up the mountain last night. My problem is strain on my calves. . .yikes I'm feeling my age. I've had to take a potassium supplement about a 1/2 hour before I go up to ease the leg cramps.
Hope everyone has a great day. Tomorrow is my Friday as I will be heading up to Washington and Oregon for a mini-vacation and my nephews High School graduation.

Hi Everyone! My name is Mary and, like many of you, I'm a food-a-holic. I'm 41, married, and we have a wonderful 1 yr old kitty-daughter.
I work in an office at a state university, so I don't get much exercise other than my 5 minute walk from and then back to the parking lot. The last challenge I was in was Choco's 10 in 10, and I believe my end weight for that challenge was 185. Well, guess what. My starting weight for this challenge is 192! I know it could be worse and I'm glad it's not, but still... We've got a wedding at the end of June, Hubby will be in the wedding party and no doubt look hot in his tux, and I just want to be sure I don't look frumpy, which is how I feel.
My goals for this challenge:
1) lose a minimum of 10 lbs
2) drink 100 oz water a day
3) get my big 'ole butt moving again! I can't even tell you the last time I exercised!!
4) make sure I post here once a day. I really s*ck at that. But I can already say I won't be posting on weekends because they're just too busy for me, and I rarely get near a computer on sat & sun.
food so far for me today:
B: 1 c Kashi Crunch, 1/2 c 1% milk (w/cereal)
S: 1 c red grapes. The yummy round ones, not the long ones! I'm really picky about my grapes... :D
L: 1 c orzo with red onions, herbs, feta and a little bit of olive oil, with a small scoop of artichoke-hummus from the lunch truck outside my building, probably not the healthiest thing, eh?
D: I think dinner will be chicken sausage, not sure, maybe pork chops? Haven't decided yet.
And side dishes, I'm at a loss as to what to make anymore. Hubby is a bit picky, he doesn't like rice, cous cous, etc, so it's usually some kind of potato-based dish (fries, baked, roasted -- sometimes a sweet potato for me). OK so he's a lot picky! I want to make healthier sides anyhow, any suggestions?
Water so far today: 50 oz.
LZ , thanks for the push! I'm sure I'm on the right track (once again! :p ).
Bratty & Candy!!!!! So nice to see you again! CAn't wait to catch up, I know you've both had a rough time.
And hi to everyone else, it's nice to meet you all, though I've been lurking and reading your posts... Geez, I feel like a peeping-tom! :D
OK, gotta get back to work now.

Hello ladies:)
I have wonderful news!! I know it had to be bloat, but I am down 5# from Monday morning! I weighed in at 207.4 today. The even better news is that I'm EXTREMELY sore from an intense yoga class yesterday- literally, my entire body aches. But of course, it's a good ache.
I too, am so sorry that I havent had time for personals! I'm trying to be better about managing my time and making time for this site each day...it's just so tough!
Lots of newbies though:D Very exciting....I will be feeding of your motivation for the next few months, lol.
So I have made it to the gym the past 3 mornings, which is impressive seeing as how I get up at 5:45am to do so. Cardio today and Monday and yoga yesterday. I've also been under 1000 calories the past 2 days and plan on doing the same today. Water, as always, has been over 80 ounces each day.
I WILL be in onderland within 2 weeks!!! No ifs, ands or butts.
Okay, my lunch hour has been over- must get back to work:)

I am trying to work my way out of this funk so until I do at least a little I will probably just lurk in here to keep up with ya'll and only post my weigh-in's I sure don't want to bring anyone down.

Hello everyone especially to those that I don't know. This will be a great challenge for all of us I can feel it.
So today was my bi-weekly doctor's appointment and I was down 7 and a half lbs in two weeks. A total of 15 for my first month on phen. That felt really good. My house scale weighed in at 250 doctor at 254.2.
I went to sleep late last night so I did not do my daily walk and skipped breakfast ughh I know that's bad.
L- Tuna salad with ranch dressing and some whole wheat bread. I hadn't had bread in like 3 weeks. I like to have carbs once in a while hehe.
Water I am on bottle #2 of 6. I am planning to kick butt with Tae Bo tonight to make up for my missed walk and probably clean house.
Guys, I will really need you next week. I will be on vacation and I really really want to stay on track, eat right and continue to exercise. The good thing is that we aren't leaving town we are just hanging out at home with the kids, going to movies, zoo etc.

Crappy news for the day... I did my weigh-in this morning and it scared the bejeebers out of me... 173.5! Frick, frick, frick!!!
Good news for the day... I've been drinking a lot of water today and the bf and I are grilling some chicken for dinner... at least my true day 1 of this challenge will be some healthy eating. We're also going for a long walk after dinner... yay for me;).
My goal is to get to 145 by the end of the summer. BF and I are going to have contests too so I really am SOOOOO determined. I know that's quite a bit of weight to lose, 28.5 pounds, but I think my first week will flush some of it out early... at least I hope so!
WannaB, so great to see you here:D. Virgo, your kitty-daughter is looking beautiful... my, my! I emailed Choco-cat and Timi and called JBO... that'd be so cool if they'd join too. Geez, I missed you all.
I'll set my other goals this week too... I'm trying to figure out how much water I can realistically put down and how much exercise I should commit to.
Well, gotta go... I have a kitty kneading my arm and it's starting to hurt a bit.
See ya later!

Ok, so I'll have to paraphrase.
So glad to see a lot of old phrends along with my new phrends. Please look back at the inital post for the challenge requirements.
Candy, water parks are wonderful! Son had a field trip today and I have to say it was the best one I have ever been on. Daughter went with me and a couple more friends. Talk about exercise! I have my 45 minutes three days in a row!
Calories were too high yesterday, but they have been good today. I need to plug them in spark and see.
Wanna B, I'll be groaning about the calves in the morning i am sure.
Gonna. glad you beat the cancer. I was worried about you. What a scary ordeal.
Bratty, so you settled in Colorado? Doing the real estate thing?
Pooh, 15 pounds, wow!
Ready2FeelGood, you are at the right place. You know you will feel better if you get back on track.:gulp:
More later...

Tan, How is the no sodas going. I love Diet Coke. I am not limiting it as long as I drink my 75 ounces of water. Almost there for today.
Meg, down #5, I'd take it no matter what the reason. We sure have to take the gains.lol
Mary, I love the kitty in the car!
Bratty, I still love your avatar. Recognize my old one? I got tired of my picture and the pink panther so I switched back to my old one.
OK, have a great evening. TTYL

Ok, so today was a great day for me. I dragged myself to the gym. I was very aprehensive as the last few times I went, I was unable to do much at all. That is so very discouraging. I told myself to listen to the doctor and give it 3-4 more weeks as my body was not healed and my blood pressure and heart rate were still low.
I had a goal of 2 miles and I did it. It was a run/walk/run/walk, but I did the distance. It felt good and I know I can improve on that. I certainly did not set any speed or time records..but I have to start somewhere. I then did some biceps, triceps and shoulders. i was beat!
I came home, ate dinner and was ready to just put my feet up and relax a bit. However, one of the girls that work for me (I won a cleaning company) called in sick and of course at the last minute. So, I had to go do a rather large commercial job tonight and am just arriving back home. Whew!
What did I eat today?
B-zone bar w/black coffee (learning to like it minus creme)=210 calories
S-pureed fruit, 4 oz =55 calories
L-tuna w/2 TB light mayo, 10 green olives(no bread) salad with 1/2 tomato, 1/2 ounce feta, ff dressing=480 calories
S-South Beach bar, watermelon=146 calories
D-grilled tilapia & steamed asparagus-130 calories
S-Slim-a-bear ice cream=100 calories
TOTAL=1121
My goal was to be 1100 or under and I went 21 over. I am not going to beat myself up over it. I did work out today and burned calories. However, I am not one to add more calories into my diet when I burn them at the gym...
so glad to have this challenge, thanks to LZ. I will go back and read the posts so I can learn all about the new phrends so I can be more diligent with the personals...we all enjoy getting the 'at a girl!
Enjoy your nights,I am headed to bed where I am sure to pass out rather quickly!

I cant seem to keep my days straight lately. I've been so busy I cant tell if Im coming or going sometimes.
Anyway, today was an overall good day. I walked about 3 miles today and got in my water and supplements (fiber and fish oils)
I did pretty good with the food too, I think. I wasnt really hungry all day which is a huge bonus. For breakfast I had a glass of skim milk and some grapes. Lunch was a cheese sandwich and half a smooshed banana (thanks to my son) For Dinner I had some raw carrots, baked chicken, and about 8 baked french fries. I had one of those 90 calorie packs of mint chocolate rice cakes a while ago.
Im thinking I need to really cut back on my carb intake. Of course this is the hardest part to give up. At least I should reduce them to only early in the day.
Tomorrow is another day and another opportunity to do better than before.

Yesterday I had a McDonald's hamburger, a bag of chips, a chocolate baton from trader joe's......hmmm..I'm sure I had something else but I don't remember and I'm sur eit wasn't somethinig nutritious.
Prayers needed......
I'll be back on here when things get better.

Scat - I'm sorry things are not looking better. It's difficult I know. My Father was diagnosed with Stage 4 Cancer in September. :(
I did my 2.5 miles up the mountain last night, but this morning I woke up and my siatic nerve was hurting so bad. So I won't be doing any exercise tonight, I have a long day tomorrow traveling and I do not want to be in pain.

Scat I'm sorry about your father. I will keep him and your family in my prayers.
WannaB, sorry about the nerve. Take it easy and then get right back into it. :)
So last night I wasn't really hungry after my lunch so I had string cheese and sugar-free jello. I did 1 hour of cardio. I got all my water in.
TODAY
I heped my brother move late last night until well after 12:30 soooooooooo I woke up exhausted and had to take our truck in to the dealership so nuff said no walking. I feel FAT today. Bloated ughhh. I think I'm just tired and need some SLEEP. So far I had 3 fried eggs with some sausages and water. Will check in later.

So I succeeded in eating pretty healthy yesterday. Calories ended up around 1600... would have done better but drank some wine . I know I shouldn't have peeked at the scale already but I couldn't believe how much lower it said... I know, I know, clearly it's water weight, right? It still feels good though.:D Today, I've got a bunch of boxes to move and stuff to organize so that'll keep my active. Yesterday's walk went down the tubes with the rain that came in so hopefully I'll make up for it a bit today.
WannaB - hope those calves have recovered! I gotta admit, it's kinda nice to feel A LITTLE sore, like I worked out but you had to be hurting!
7Jeans - congrats on making to the gym so early for days in a row! I need your gumption in the a.m.
Pooh - which TaeBo do you do? The only time in my life that I lost a lot of weight quickly was when I was doing TaeBo... hmmmm, wonder where my tapes are. Come to think of it, I don't even know if I have a freakin VCR anymore... drat.
LZ - I really liked the pink panther! Yep, I'm in CO... and about to put a house I just fixed up on the market. I know the market is supposed to s*ck but I'm in a good area so I should do pretty well. Congrats on your daughter's graduation!:)
Scat - your family is in my prayers :heart::heart:
I'm off to move boxes and junk...

My weigh-in is tomorrow so I need to be extra good today. No exercise yet; however, I just spent four hours outside mowing (on the rider) and untangling and setting up about 400 feet of hose for the stock tank. Lots to do today as I am leaving around noon tomorrow to go camping. I will be MIA during that time; however if it is your weigh day go ahead and post it. I have been doing well on my goals this week so the scale better show it tomorrow.:D ...or else.:p
Bratty, water weight or not the decrease in the # on the scale is so important to the psyche!
Clo posted recently in another challenge I was in. She is getting married! Do a search to find that post.
Pooh, if you are having trouble sleeping try a couple benadryl. I slept about 6 hours last night and feel great today. Of course, the phen helps after you get to where you can sleep on it OK.
WannaB, have a great trip and I'll meet you back here early next week. I am surprised that my calves are not sore today. I hope yours recover soon.
Scat, I am so sorry to hear about your Dad.:( I lost mine 21/2 years ago. It is so hard.
You and your family are on my prayer list. We will be here for you.
Gonna, you are so motivating to me.:) I am so glad your back.
I need Resmoo back to do Saintly Thursday with me.
Mia, thinking about you today.
Back to it. Have a great day. More later.

Hello ladies~
So, I did what I said I would not do...I got on the scale this morning. Of course, I was squinting and scared to look...but I lost 4 pounds in 3 days! I will take it! See, in the last few months, with my hormone level down to about nothing, I was gaining a pound a day while cutting back on calories. When the weight gain stopped, I seriously counted calories and would go an entire week and lose nothing! Talk about discouraging! the doctor said to give it another few weeks since my body was working against itself. I am so thrilled that my body is getting back to where it should be. You have no idea how good this feels. i have felt so completely helpless in my own body, and it is all turning around...than goodness!
So far, I have had breakfast, 180 calorie Pure Protein bar. I am making lunch, it will be a salad with Wishbone salad spritzer, and a Lean Cuisine, Jumbo Rigatoni with meatballs. I use 5 grams of Cora Pecorino Romano on it too. So with lunch I am at 665 calories.
I think I will go to the gym later today. I am going to enjoy this gorgeous sunshine, and take a dip in my pool.
LZ: thanks for recognizing I am back, its always good to feel welcomed! Thank you also for your concern, it means a lot knowing people care.
Bratty: Love your kitty, I have a few little furballs running around here. Don't downplay any weight loss even if you think its just water loss. A loss is a loss! We hate when we gain, we should celebrate when we lose. Good job!
Wanna: Way to go on the mountain climb. Where do you live? What mountain? I love taking hikes. I live within 30 minutes of the Adirondacks and my husband and I love to climb smaller mountains. Especially in the fall when the leaves are turning, its so beautiful and an awesome reward when you hit the top. How is your father? Cancer is so scary!
Scat: You and your family are in my prayers. It is so difficult when a family member is ill. I have an aunt that is currently in the hospital for 24 hour chemo this week and a stem cell replacement next week. I can't change the rules in this challenge, but don't bail on us because you are not following the "rules". You need support right now, no matter where it comes from. This is my opinion...as I am sure it would be the same for everyone else on here. Right girls?
Pooh: Awesome weight loss! 15 pounds, way to go! Are you doing an Atkins style diet? I see things like fried eggs and sausage, so I a curious on what you are eating. Whatever it is, its working.
Ready2feelgood: I think I might speak for everyone...we have all been there before. You will come out of your funk. When I need to pull out of one, I go to the grocery store on Sunday and buy lots of healthy things to eat. I come home and organize single servings of everything. That way, you have everything on hand, measured and ready to go. Usually doing that, I pull out of the funk and start back on a healthier track. good luck!
7jeans: YOU ROCK GIRL! Your weight loss is inspirational. Have I ever told you before how much I love that picture of you?
virgo: I know the feeling of preparing dinner for a husband. Mine is not real picky and can pretty much eat what he wants. I say that because he goes to the gym every single day, and runs probably 40-50 miles a week. Anyway, with him being able to eat, i can not deprive him of yummy side dishes of rice, pasta, potatoes. So, I usually make what he likes and I weigh out a portion for myself. Sometimes when the calories are higher than usual, I weigh a 1/2 of a portion. Then, I make my salads bigger. That way you are eating the same thing he is but in smaller portions that aid in your weight loss journey.
Have a great rest of you day, catch you all later!

WooHoo, way to go Gonna! :D What kinda kitties do you have? Mine are 1/2 himalayan and 1/2 ragdoll... the one in the pic ISN'T mine though... I just think the cat looks so mad it's funny.
LZ, I can't believe clo's getting married! That's so cool. I'm definitely gonna look her up. BTW, what's Saintly Thursday? I'm SOOOO out of the loop.
Angel, Hiya! Having support of a hubby like that is so awesome... you're a lucky lady.
As for me... my calories ended up right at 1,600 again. I was active all day but didn't do a "workout" per se. I'm still proud of myself b/c I've eaten so bad for so long and now I'm finally tracking what I'm eating and feeling better.
I'm off to watch some UFC on Tivo... chat with ya'll tomorrow.

Today was a good day. I had plans to meet a friend for lunch at Olive Garden so I started my day with a protein shake and a 4 mile walk with a fairly respectable incline. I am starting to walk faster and Im very excited about that.
Lunch was a salad and soup and half a breadstick. I was so full all day, I had a light dinner and hurried off to class. Ive had my water and supplements.
I also ordered some b12 shots. They are too expensive through my doctor and I dont mind self injecting. I am anxious to see how they work for me.
For the first time in a long time I am really looking forward to my weigh in on Tuesday. I would love to see a 4 pound loss, but then again, its almost my TOM so we'll see.
My goal for tomorrow is to spend my workout cleaning my house. I have a lot of laundry to fold and some floors that are begging to be scrubbed.
I really want to challenge myself for next week so I am going to make some personal assignments.
From Sunday 6/8 to Saturday 6/14 I am going to walk 30 miles.
Each of those 7 days I am going to concentrate on stretching for 20 minutes.
Each of those 7 days I am going to work on my abs.
Each of those 7 days I am going to drink at least 3 liters of water.
I am going to make good food choices.
I am not going to put any food in my body after 7 pm.
I am going to have 1 perfect week.
I would like to know what kind of results I can see when I really give everything I have.
You guys are all so inspiring. Keep going!

Hey all, for all those that wished my dad well I want to extend a great big thank you! His kidney function is improving, and I owe that all to the power of prayer......
My weigh in is today and I have lost point 8 of a lb. Not much but I'm grateful for it anyhow and I haven't taken phen is over a week!! I also have not worked out. I think the stress of dad has helped with the loss. I havne' t been eating healthy either but I have been eating LESS and sometimes that is the name of the game.....
Yesterday I had:
Sushi
iced coffee
chicken wrap
more coffee
diet pepsi
Poor dad, I see his hospital food and I know that if I were admitted I would have lost weight easily.....not the finest cuisine. LOL...yesterday I bought hm a big cookie and he ate it....nothing like a cookie to cheer somebody up..LOL..works for me! Im' just happy that he is eating because for days he was not and we were getting concerned......
Well, I'm off to tackle another difficult day. No sunshine today :( and I need to get to my old business site and get some stuff that I left behind....
hope everyone has a good day.....and thanks again for the prayers....I appreciate them more than y'all know.

but i keep reminding myself how there is nothing good about soda, it is bad for your bones..bad for everything....there is nothing in it that the body can process and use for nutrition...its devil's water...oh but its just so good!

Great goals! That reminds me I am going to go ahead and post next week's challenge as I don't think I'll be on again until Monday.
Bratty, one of the challenges I was in had a Friday weigh-in so we were extra diligent about low calories and exercise so the scale would treat us better. I have a bad habit of psyching myself out and eating a bunch late on the day before weigh-in.

Hi everyone! Sorry for my absence, but if you had seen me these past few days, you would understand why! I am happy to report that MIL mom is home from the hospital, yes!! Her kidney function regenerated itself once the dialysis removed a lot of fluid and the dye from her heart treatment out of her body, just what the doctors were hoping it would do. I had been visiting mom on my lunch hour every day; I never missed a day while she was there. In addition, each and every day, I would go home from work, eat a bit and refresh, then hubby and I would drive over to the hospital and spend the whole evening there with her until visiting hours were over, tucking her into her hospital bed every night; we wouldn't get home until 10:30 or 11 pm each night, worknights and weekends too -- a full schedule, but it was truly a joy to just be there with her. So I went to visit her during my lunch hour as usual last Wednesday, and the doctors were so pleased with her progress that the heart monitor was taken off, the dialysis tubes, and then finally the standby IV line. So of course I called into work to take the rest of the day off, helped her get packed up and dressed, and even got a Lincoln sedan service to come to the hospital to drive us from there to my house, a surprise just for her!! She had been through so much, and when she saw the big black fancy car drive up, she was smiling from ear to ear!! And the driver purposely drove around DC so she could see the monuments and all, so nice!! Once at home, hubby and I cooked dinner of baked tilapia fish, mashed potatoes and green beans, so we ate together, then we drove mom to her home in the country (a one-hour drive) -- and we had tornado watches and warnings going on, and some parts of the ride were unnerving from all the torrential rain and storms, but I knew that we would be just fine!! We got back home around 11:30 that night, tired but with huge smiles on our faces! It was a big-time "whew" week, and we're glad that it's over and that MIL mom is home, getting stronger every day --
I'll have to take some time tomorrow to read through the other posts and get acquainted with all of you that I don't know yet, as well as find out what's going on with those that I do know!
Scat, my MIL is proof that the kidneys can indeed start back up to working full function again; I pray your dad gets stronger every day, and will not forget to lift him up during my prayer time ...

Today I had cereal for breakfast
lunch I had a small pasta
Dinner I had chicken,brocolli
Workout is excellent. 6 days, 1-2 hours ( walking, jogging, step machine, tae bo)
I'm doing so good on my goals. My water intake is almost non existance. Next week I have to up my game.

well LZ, of course I am on for this challenge! I actually read all of the responses in this thread before i checked my email and saw that u had invited me to come!! u are cute and sweet.
i have not been doing great with my wt loss...but more maintaining which isn't so bad i guess. i know that i need to make better choices with my meals, and have been very very bad at not eating frequently. like only having one meal a day and then eating a blizzard later on and that's it. so, yet again, it is proven that eating less to that extreme does not make u lose wt faster! i think i have shut my metabolism down even further which is gaud awful since it was so low to begin with! i have not been having good times with my bf lately-scat will not be surprised!-and so it's like, no! i don't want to eat with u! to heck with you! i'm not hungry right now anyway. and since he is the stay at home daddy and is there whenever i am, this is a big deal. we eat every meal together when i am not at work. except lately. so anyway...and u all, well many of u, know that i am trying to deal with the first anniversary of my eldest child's death NEXT WEEK, followed the next day by his birthday. i have a plan somewhat for celebrating his bday, which i think is making me calmer about the whole thing...and we are gonna go to an amusement park the following monday. that is something that he would have loved to do...so a party for my baby, then off to have fun. let's hope that this makes things easier since i have two hard days in a row. we'll see i suppose.
anyway, the rest of the story to all who are new (and Hi meg!! missed ya! glad u are still alive!!) is that i am a travel nurse, currently visiting family in WA state...i grew up in CA, but our house is in GA. we left in sept...u can see a few months after my son died. i have 3 living children, ages 7, almost 5 and almost 4. we also brought our dog along with us. so things are busy busy busy.
i have been exercising at least 30 min every day for the past month or so, although i think i need to boost my cardio-get on the treadmill or get outside (it is STILL freakin cold here in WA state! i mean highs in the 60s and cloudy everyday with drizzy back and forth. where is summer!!). we have been getting on the WII fit alot, i really like it, i just need more cardio to boost my wt loss i think. i also have been out of my OTC pills i have been using to lose wt, but they should be coming in the mail anyday now. i am not on phen (took it last year, helped a little, but i do not have prob with appetite control, but liked the metab boost! unfort i started losing a ton of hair, so it had to go.)
so hi to everyone! and nice to meet ya! and i am sooooo gonna try to get on here at least once a day!
my starting wt is gonna be 138, a goal of 132. that's like around 0.5 pound a week which is so so hard for me! but i can not imagine getting that close to 130!! so lz is hot on my heels, and i am at scat's backdoor so that is always great motivation for me!! i would love to say that i am gonna really concentrate on the water intake, but i am just so cold all the time with this weather that i don't hardly drink anything! i know this is bad. i have one diet soda a day then nothing but water, but still, i hardly have any. if it ever warms up, i am sure this will change!!
so goals:
start eating fruit at work and 1/2 a protein bar, instead of just the bar. i can not tell u the last time i ate any fruit at all, more than a month at least.
step up the cardio! 30 min of wogging 3 times a week in addition to all the stuff on the WII.
limit my cheat meal to once a week. altho i have been better with the DQ, i am down to once a week on that...gee i would love to stretch it to once every two weeks. i will be honest and say that my dq does not count as my cheat meal! i must wean myself slowly.
i know that the next week and a half are gonna b so freakin hard, esp since we are gonna b having a party for my son's bday (thinking of what his fav food was to have on that day, but he just loved food!) then going to an amusement park all day, u know that's not gonna b good. but gonna try to bring a protein bar or something to limit how much bad stuff i eat that day.
anyway, i am in the middle of a three night stretch, one more night for me! oh, lz, my weigh day is gonna b friday as well.
cd, glad to hear the mil is doing so much better!
scat, will keep good thoughts out there. like i told cd, the kidneys take quite a hit when we are sick, and as u get older the hit is harder! thinking of u sweetie!
ok, i am gonna try to not talk everyday about the dooms days coming up for me, but i know that if i need to come here and vent, or freak, that i can, so please bear with me this next week or so. his death day (and i always think of harry potter when i say that! u know, the death day party?) is the 13th, yes, friday the 13th, and his bday is on the 14th. he would have been 9 this year.
oh, we took the kids to a heart doc checkup last week...youngest is prob gonna have to have the hole that he has in his heart closed next year, it is of significant size, so they say. but it is not open heart surg anymore-it is like an angiogram where they go up through the groin. he also has a new heart defect in that one of his valves is not working properly, but it is not so bad that anything needs to b done around it right now. the middle son was found to have a new heart murmur, but his echo (ultrasound) was fine. the eldest was fine and did not have an echo this time around. they all had over night heart monitors on, am waiting to hear the results of those.
ok, really, that's all!

Good Morning Phrends!
I'm sorry I haven't been on here lately...I think about you all literally everytime I get a craving or pass an ice cream shop (which is like every block in NYC) LOL.
I have incredible news!! One week ago I was 212.4. Today I am 203.6!! Thank goodness... that first number scared me to death! I have been doing really well all week and did not cheat once. Calories were about 1100 each day and I got 4 50-minute cardio sessions in. I guzzle water anyways, so that is not so much a challenge for me. Overall, great start to this summer's eating:)
The problem will be today as I am going to the Belmont Stakes with some friends and between the beer and food...it will be difficult. I'm really excited though!
I also miss Saintly Thursdays with Resmoo...
Trauma, I'm so glad to see you back:) We are in this for good this time. I'm with youon weaning yourself...take baby steps! Otherwise you'll jump in too quickly, feel deprived and say "screw it". My thoughts and prayers are with you this next week.
Happy- great job on your workouts! The weight does come off very slowly. BUT the thing is- if you are doing everything right then tell yourself WHEN it comes off is not an issue, because it will come off!! Keep your chin up;)
CD, glad to her MIL is doing better. That car service idea was so sweet!!
LZ- Congrats on your loss!! Doesn't it feel good to see the scale moving in the RIGHT direction again!
scat- so glad to hear the good news about your Dad! I can't imagine how tough that must have been. I would have been eating everything in sight! And then to lost .8 of a lb...that's still awesome! Even maintaining would have been good..
Kimberlee- congrats on your run!! I need to start making distance goals instead of time goals. We are totally doing a 1/2 marathon this year;) Thanks for the sweet picture compliment!! I changed it on you though...hehe. I'm posting the album below.
Tru- Great goals girl:)
Everyone else- Have a fabulous Saturday! It's supposed to be 95 degrees here...I'm a little concerned!! I dont think its gotten over like the low 80s yet.
These are some pics I took this past Feb:

One pair of jeans is an 18 and one is a 14. The 18s were too small last august. As of today, 6/7/08, I think the 14s give me a slight muffin top- Im back on track though!

Wow everyone is doing so great. Keep it up!
I have not been too good this week with my exercise. My eating has still been good. I am on a week vacation now. We are just staying in town but will be doing fun things here so it might still be hard but not harder than it would be if we had gone elsewhere I think.
My goal for this up coming week is to at least get either my walking in everyday or my cardio. I know that it will be practically impossible to do both so I will be glad if I can do at least one of those. I also want to stay on my low carb diet.

well LZ, of course I am on for this challenge!

Truama,
I didn't read your post until just now....I've been so busy lately....Anyway I just wanted to give you some encouragment....
You know I have been maintaining or gaining for a while now.....I did great for the valentine's challenge and for whatever reason I couldn't get it together since then. (Although I did get lower than you miss thang , so IN YA FACE!......just kidding)...Anyway you are dealing with ALOT lately......the anniversary of your child's death approaching, some problems with your man...you have a full time job and young chldren...through all this you still manage to work out...now that is nothing short of amazing!!
So here we are... a fresh new challenge and a fresh start...warmer days are on the horizon for you, you'll be drinking that water down fo' sure.....
Oh and my hair was falling out too....I stopped the phen around 11 days ago and it is still falling out..scary stuff , huh? when my dad was in ICU taking phen was the least of my worries...so now I have decided to stay off of it for a while to see if I can lose without it.....so far I have been able to drop a lb. so maybe I can live phen free after all....
You sound sad and I want to give you a big cyber hug....I know that next week is going to be hard...really hard....I can't even imagine what you are going through having lost a child the way that you did.....i think the amusement park thing is a beautiful idea....what a wonderful way to honor his memory.....something that your other children can enjoy and think about him....
Hugs....

Good, Morning all
I wanted to weigh in this morning before I forgot, my baby girl's 1st birthday is today and you know how that can go. I am so proud of myself this week
My Start challenge weight was 217 on June 1
My weigh in day will be every Sunday around this time
My goals I keep for the first week was: I drank my water this week like a good girl, instead of getting on the treadmill, I walked outside in 80 degree weather and last NO SWEETS.
I weigh in this week at 210. One thing I did not do was get on my Boflex, hope to do a little better with that.
All of you, have a Wonderful Sunday.

Hello everybody - still here but to make a long story short life STINKS right now. I have not exercised, drank my water, taken my phen and I have pretty much eaten oh everything in site. Lost my motivation, trying to find it again and get rid of this I don't give a crap attitude. I go to the doctor on friday - not know what the scales are going to say. I am trying to work my way out of this funk so until I do at least a little I will probably just lurk in here to keep up with ya'll and only post my weigh-in's I sure don't want to bring anyone down.
Oh I was just gonna post a post just like that :(
So I will WI next week FRI 13.06.08 and go from there if thats ok?....... If not good luck to everyone.

Im not sure whats going on, but Im starving. TOM came on Friday, maybe thats part of it. I just want junk. I cant keep anything bad in the house because I will just eat it, so Ive managed to keep the cravings at bay. I really wanted a soda last night but settled for a cup of gatorade.
Today marks the beginning of a big week for me. I am going to work really hard at doing some serious exercise and staying really strict with my dieting. Im going to go the gym in a little while for a 4 mile walk.
You girls are all so great. You all have so much going on in your lives and you are working so hard at this. You're all so strong.

Good morning ladies:)
I hope everyone had great weekends... I certainly did but I am paying for it now. I ate horribly Saturday (Beer, pizza, hot dogs, ice cream..) We went to the Belmont which was SO much fun! Thing is though, we were standing in the heat all day long and between that, the bad eating, the drinking and lack of sleep- I feel like a mess today! I'm up on the scale (207) but I feel so bloated and swollen. I think partially because of the salty, greasy food and partially just because I havent stood on my feet for that long since I was bartending last summer. So hopefully that's not my true weight. I ate decently on Sunday.
Anyways, I was supposed to go to the gym this morning and I could not get myself out of bed for anything! I'm stiiiiill not awake. I think I'm going to go home after work, do some laundry, take a bath and go to bed.... skip the gym for today. I really just feel like i need water and rest.
Hope everyone has a fabulous Monday!!

Hi everybody,
Went to see SEx in the City movie last night with friends and yes, I had popcorn with melted "butter" flavoring..YUCK....I never eat popcorn at the movies, I don't know what came over me....maybe the excitement of being out with friends overcame me....(I haven't been out much lately)......
Anyhow my colonix kicked in today (thank goodness) and I'm back on track hopefully.....I"m planning out the day's eating for a change......
7jeans, I may take a fitness workshop in Woodside, I wonder if it is at the same gym you go to!! I'm not crazy about going to woodside to take the class but it wont' be offered in Manhattan any time soon :( I don't know woodside at all, I hope that I don't get lost there....
Another scorcher of a day....today is my housework day, tomorrow shopping and errands day, Wednesday work and get my hair touched up (I look like my grandma yetta) and the rest of the week is unknown....
Thankyou to everyone that has sent positive thoughts and prayers for my dad. He seems to be doing okay, it is going to be a long haul for him until he is back to "normal"....

OK, i just had a major slip up. I forgot to take my phen this morning because I was so busy and then I just lost control at lunch. I dont know what's wrong with me today- I think Im just too tired to care about anything, lol.
Scat- where do you go in Woodside? I actually go to the gym in the city. I'm really lucky because my company owns Equinox so I get to go there for like dirt cheap!! Good luck navigating woodside- lol, I still get lost! The roads in Queens make absolutely NO sense!
okay, so now that I've had 1000 calories for the day and its 2:00... I'm not sure what to do . I dont want to waste my phen on a day where Im clearly going to be over my targeted caloric intake, but I also don't want to go crazy and find myself binging on pizza.....

Hello Ladies! Happy Monday! Hope everyone is feeling well and doing well on this journey.
I am feeling a little better - dr. appt on Friday went better than I had anticipated.
My weigh-in this morning was 213.5 thats a 1.5 lb loss - not great but I'll take it.
I am doing pretty well on the calorie intake - just ok on the exercise and I am completely bombing on the water - I just can't I don't know why, it's not that I am drinking other things I'm not I just don't get thirsty so I don't drink anything. I'll try harder.
CD & Scat so glad your loved ones are doing better :)
Trama you continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.
To everyone else lets just keep on keeping on - no body ever promised it would be easy but we all can do it I know we can. ;)

Hi Seven..the gym is on the BQE somewhere...not an area that I am knowledgeable about.....I only know a little bit of Queens, I'm a Bronx babe........I'm tempted to wait and see if they will be having the workshop somewhere else in the future, but I don't want to wait too long either...darnit......I hate this..of all the stupid places to have a workshop....
okay well here is what I ate today:
breakfast
fiber mxed with water (didn't want the calories of the EAS shake today)
lunch
2 fried eggs and two slices turkey bacon (no nitrates)
dinner
baked chicken
greek yogurt
I see that i have not had any vegetables or fruit so I am going to make a salad or something now.....my goal is to NOT eat anything after 7 pm...I am going to start making sf ff jello again for my sweet tooth. I feel PMS coming on and I don't want to start hitting the snackies.....I have not been on phen for close to two weeks and I'm still alive ;)

Hi Gang. We had a great time camping. Our Son had more fun than I even thought he would. I'm really glad because I was afraid he would be bored.
I did OK on food. I did track on paper. I'm afraid to put it in as I'm sure the calories were too high. Today so far I have had 1107 calories before dinner so i am going to find something light for tonight.
I have to go back and catch up. How are the weigh-ins going?
Did everyone do their crunched today. I did my 100. I am working on my water.

Michele, did you see where the Doc had fussed at me too.:p It would be good for me to go back eight pounds less too. How about your goal for 8/31?
Pooh, three pounds is a great start.
CDE, great news about MIL/ My MIL had a f/u MRI on her brain and the tumor has not grown. They have moved her to a six month f/u instead of every three/.
Happy, how about those crunches?
Hey Trauma, glad to hear from you. I hope you keep us posted this week. I know this anniversary is so, so hard for you. :heartpump:
Oh, and stay away from those blizzards!
Meg, wow -8.9. I want a loss like that….by the end of the month will do. Good thing you already weighed in for this week after your fun time. Get some good rest!
Scat, great job on the loss, glad to hear that Dad is home.
Babybyrd, welcome! May I have a weight-loss goal for by 8/31? So, should I use 238 as your start weight?
Scat, WTG on losing w/o the phen. I do not do well when off of it. Good luck!
Colee, -7 is awesome. What was you goal weight for 8/31? Sorry if I missed it.
Lucie, I hope you have a better week this week.:)
Ready2FeelGood, glad you are feeling better. At least the scale went the right direction.
Have you tried any of those no calorie flavorings for your water? They may help.
Ok, that's all for now. TTYL

I am thankful I am changing my habits. After a day like today I would be having a gallon of ice cream. I am emotionally drained. I was supposed to start my respiratory therapy school today but was #2 on the wait list. Well I guess everyone showed up and I didnt get a place. On top of that I had to put my 6 month old in daycare for the first time. I stayed at home with my first son for 3 years before putting him in part time preschool. So I was really upset that I had to put the baby in for no friggin reason. Now I cant take him out b/c they have a huge waiting list and my school starts Sept. 2nd.. So I got home and took my aggression out of some cardboard cakes (rice cakes), and then went for a run. Cal have been good 3 fiber one bars, lean cuisine, ravioli. Well tommorow is my weigh in. I think I am doing good. I have been working my butt off. Yesterday I did a 3 mile bike ride and 1 mile run. I am totally dedicated and it shows. Anyways gotta do some sittups tonight. I have a HUGE caffine headache right now so I am going to get some JAVA.. :)

So sorry to hear about not getting into the school..I've had disappointments like that in my life too...like waiting list for lawschool which means you are so close yet so far.....but you can reapply again, right? as far as keeping the baby in daycare...well if you plan on going to school again or working then you should keep the baby there instead of going on t he bottom of the list again....You not binging because of what happened today is a big achievement!!! Don't know if I would have held up...I probably would have said "screw it" and went to McDonalds for a big mac and ice cream.....

I didn't plan on going off the phen, but i figured i was off this long I might as well stay off for a while...If I find that I need that little "push" again I may re-start the phen again to get me to goal...so tire of the back and forth nonsense..I'm not getting anywhere.

Hello all!! Okay, got back on my phen today, and by not having taken it for the last 2 1/2 weeks or so, it has kicked in just like it did when I started back in November, thank goodness!! So here's my menu for today:
B: 3 Eating Right crackers
S: 1 navel orange (delicious!)
L: small piece of salmon, a few sweet potato french fries (SIL bought them at Sam's Club)
D: WW wheat sandwich, toasted, with one slice turkey, cheese, lettuce and di'jon mustard, some cantalope chunks
I'm drinking my 3 Ballerina tea for regularity, and I did drink good water today, not a lot, but a good amount, and I'm not hungry, gonna go to bed in about 15 minutes and sleep like a winner!
Please continue to keep MIL in your prayers; as I mentioned earlier, she's at home, but is having a lot of trouble breathing at nighttime (has asthma) -- she went to her asthma doctor today, and he said that it's not the asthma that's giving her the trouble; she also has a lot of fluid in her legs and feet too ...
Trauma, my heart is with you during this very difficult time; I pray the strength of the Lord to get you and your family through this. Know that you will not be going through those rough two days alone; we are right here with you too ...
Scat, I read that your dad is home, and I thank God for that; he will get better so much quicker there than in the hospital; true, there are so many walking miracles on this earth, giving God the Glory for His faithfulness!
LZ, Amen and Amen on the 6-month followups instead of the 3 for your MIL, wonderful news!!!
Meghan, hey gurl!! Even when we have bad days and bad weekends, I'm so glad that there is a phen family that we can turn to!! Hang in there, I'm back on my bike, you're working out, and we're gonna do this thang!!
I've got a doctor's appointment next Monday (good grief!) and I hope she doesn't fuss too much with me for not having another big weight loss, but with what I've been through, I know she will understand. Gonna get another mnth's worth of phen, and will try to get back in the habit of taking it every day --
Off to bed, have a great night everyone!! :)

So anyway....Sorry I haven't been in here as much. I'm pretty much a zombie from friday-monday. So, I'm thinking I may only be posting Tues-Thurs. Anyway...I've also found it very difficult to workout on my work days. I'm not really sure when I should because I'm always exhausted. My food habits have been decent, but not fantastic. They could be much better. I'm trying to really focus on portion control...which has been pretty easy with the phen, but I wanna make sure I can do this for the long haul. I can't fail this time. Yesterday when I went to my one week follow up, they said that I have hypothyroidism (sp?)...so I have to go see my regular doc to see about getting on thyroid meds. Kinda scary considering my birth mother had thyroid cancer...and I hear these things are genetic. Anyway...pretty dang pleased with my weigh-in. Gotta really kick butt this week to keep this momentum going. :)
I just want to congratulate all of you who are having such a hard time in life right now for still coming in here! That is truly amazing, and I applaud you for it. Learning to continue even in the most difficult times is gonna be what gets all of us where we want to be for the rest of our lives. :D
Anyway...that's all for now. I apparently have some crunches to do. ;)

I'm so excited. I finally broke down and got a satellite card for my computer. My pages load so much faster. I live in an area where I can only get dial-up or satellite internet. The only thing is the reception is not consistent. Oh well, I have 30 days to decide if it is worth $60 per month.
Angel, sorry to hear about the school delay. Glad to see you see the o[[ortunity to focus on you.
Tenacious and Candy, great weight loss.
High to all, more later. I have to balance the checkbook. (scary)

So, as predicted my cravings got the best of me yesterday. Calories were probably around 2000. This is the same thing I have been battling since I moved here. Most of the time I'm myself- I'm happy, proud of myself, excited, etc. But every once in a while depression creeps in and I start to feel lonely and tired and homesick and that's when I eat. That's why I've gained 15lbs since February and that's why none of my clothes up here really fit me. I think what set it off this time was the lack of sleep and then the heat- I absolutely HATE being hot and these last few days have been unbearable.
Anyways, scale was NOT nice to me this morning. I'm going to confess the number even though I don't want to because I think if I stay completely honest then I am more likely to stick with this thing. It was 208.8.
Thing is...I still feel really tired and bloated...?? I don't know why. I got PLENTY of sleep last night, Im not PMSING... do you guys ever go through random stages where you are really, really tired and sluggish for no reason?I really think part of it is just the mental stress of this diet thing. I wish I could just eat like my friends, drink like my friends and still LOOK like my friends. I am so sick and tired of having to watch every single bite that goes into my mouth. To the point where I am sort of dreading this weekend because I have 2 cookouts to go to and I really just want to enjoy myself and eat a hamburger with chips both days and be able to drink. But I know if I do, it will reflect. And I know....portion control..blah blah. Dont' you just get tired of thinking about it sometimes??
So there is my whining bit for the day...LOL. hope im not bringing anyone down!
I did get up and go to the gym this morning. I ran for 26 minutes- should have done more but just mentally could not do it. Then did my crunches and stretched.
For food today so far:
Fiber1 bar 140
english muffin 170
strawberries 75
Total is 385 so far
I just took my phen so hopefully that will make this hunger go away and give me some more energy...that would be nice!

Good morning everyone!
I am back from my Mini vacation to Oregon. It was so beautiful up there and then had to come back to 90+ degree weather in California.
I watched what I ate as much as I could, but am back on the diet today. I did manage to keep up with my exercise, it was nice walking along the waterfront. My nephew and I managed to keep me up with my 3 mile walks. . . I loved it!

So my loss this week reflected the effort I put into it. I lost 2 pounds since last week. I didnt work as hard as I know I can. I didnt eat as healthy as I know I should. I know I am getting close to figuring it all out.
My B12 is set to arrive today, so I will start that this afternoon. Im really excited to see how that goes. I started hitting the gym harder this week and really buckling down. I want to see some great results this summer.
I walked 5 miles today at an incline (1.5) with an average speed of 3.4 mph. I managed to get up to a jog twice for about 3 minutes each time. I want to start increasing this so I can jog longer.
Im also working hard on my abs. Ive been doing my crunches as often as I can. When Im playing with the kids on the floor I take a break from playing and do 50 then go back to playing. I try to do several of those 50 sets.
Breakfast was a protein shake. Lunch was a pear and a bowl of granola and yogurt. Dinner is going to be grilled Tuna with asparagus and a salad.
You guys are all doing so well. I find I check this thread several times a day and it is an amazing inspiration. Keep going!

Hello all! Well, I'm pleased as punch to report that my weigh-in this morning is 213, yes!!! Don't know how I lost over this past weekend, as I was eating a lot of stuff, but I guess with the exception of one or two things, it was healthy foods I was eating. My menu so far today:
Cut-up cantalope
3 Eating Right crackers
One apple breakfast bar
Low fat/low carb plain yogurt
1/2 turkey/cheese/lettuce/di'jon mustard sandwich on WW wheat bread (will eat that later)
A few sweet potato french fries (will eat that later)
Pushing the water, and this evening, I plan to do 40 minutes on my bike, my crunches, and also a minute or two of pushups (I read in the "Fit" portion of my daily subway newspaper that pushups are the single, best form of exercise to do to get the trim look for the arms and upper body, so I'm gonna give it a try, I plan to do them every other day) --
Tenacious: Yep, that's the thing to do, give the phen a break; it truly does come back stronger and more appetite-controlled when you do that. I was off of it for about 2 1/2 weeks, and it's amazing how well it is working now!
LZ: Way to go on getting that Internet to go faster for you, yes!
Gotta run, have a great day all, and remember, drinking water will get you closer to your goal!!

I am losing weight off of phen! Not sure why or how but i'm rolling with it. The stress of dad in the hospital started the ball rolling, maybe my metabolism sped up..
7jeans: in WW they told us that in super hot humid weather like this the body swells up, that could be why you feel bloated..I know I feel that way today, My rings are tighter on my fingers and I swear my boobs are getting bigger! (and I don't want them to!!)
for breakfast:
2 eggs
whole wheat toast with jam and 1/2 tsp. butter....
turkey sandwich on whole grain bread. 1/2 tsp mayo
DINNER:
lean pork chop
spinach
snackies:
peach
60 percent dark chocolate

My weigh in is today. I went from 173.5 to 170.0. A 3.5 lb loss... pretty good but I thought it might be even more for my first week. I think I'm starting to gain a little pms water weight 'cause my boobs hurt. Maybe that means I'll have a decent loss next week once this comes off of me?
So I started out the week tracking my calories and eating really well. THEN the BF got cravings and of course I indulged too... next thing ya know I stopped tracking my calories and regularly eating the ice cream bars we bought. They might not have had any "added sugar" but after enough of them, the calories add up! Well, the tracking of calories starts again today and I vow to track them EVERY DAY this week!
I've also decided to make my daily water goal only 60 oz... I want to drink more than this but don't want to feel like a "daily failure" if I don't. Unfortunately, I'm still a raging diet pepsi addict.
I'm also setting a goal to hit every part of my body with weights 1x this week. I've slacked on that too and figure I'll be pretty sore after the 1st time I lift.
Okey dokey... that's the update on my week. I WILL DO BETTER THIS WEEK... STARTING TODAY!!!!!
Good luck to ya'll!

Well, I am starting to think that I shouldn't have taken last Saturday's weigh in (203.4)so seriously. I am 208.8 again today:cool: It's weird because the last 2 days I haven't done great, but I didn't think I ate enough to gain that much.
Last night was tricky- at 4pm I was invited to go to the Met's game. And not only was that exciting enough, the seats were 4 rows up directly behind home base where we had a personal waiter. It was so much fun! Thing is- I was planning on going directly home last night so I wasnt prepared food wise at all, and I was staaaarving! So I ordered a chicken wrap thing which probably wasn't as bad as the 4 beers that I drank:rolleyes: (I wanted a big juicy cheeseburger) My net calories were probably in the 1800s yesterday.
All in all though, I am not going to stress over it. I had a great time and made good decisions all day prior to that. This is supposed to be a lifestyle change so I guess moderation is key. I hope to really stick with it and give it my best today! Salad for lunch and dinner.
Scat- that is interesting about the heat! I had never heard that before. I hope that that's the reason and maybe with this cool weather things will straighten out.
CD- Way to go girl!! You are right behind me...I need to get my butt in gear before you zoom right on by into onederland, lol
LZ- Glad your camping trip went well:) I'm sure it was tough making healthy decisions...way to go!

Good morning. I never did make it back here yesterday. However, I did very well. I did my 100 crunches and 45 minutes of a FIRM DVD. I drank my water and tracked my food too.
Meg, I can relate to the sluggish feeling. This morning I feel depressed for no particular reason. I need to snap out of it. I just took my phen and that may help. Yes, I think we all wissh we could eat and drink like we want and look like our skinny friends, especially the ones that don't even exercise!
Angel, great job on the loss.
Wb, what part of Oregon did you go to. My Mom has family is the Eugene area.
TruLu, 2 pounds is good. Keep going that direction. Great job on the abs.
Happy, -6 wow!
Tenacious, if you slip and have "bad" food I think working the calories off is a great way to make up for it.
Mami, just decide today is the day to start again and take it one day at a time. You have hads a lot of stress lately and the key is to get back on track ASAP. How is your daughter doing?
Brat, good job. Diet Coke is to me what Diet Pepsi is to you. I make sure I drink my water and then I don't feel too bad about the Diet Coke. I try and limit it to two. Sometimes I can and sometimes I figure I'm giving up so much else and at least it doesn't have calories.
Ok, off to TOPS. It sure helps me just to get in here and read and post. Thanks for being here phrends!

Hi All! Well, so much for my goal #4 -- making sure to post daily! I just don't know where the time goes, and I never seem to get back here to post. Through out the day I try to read all of your posts, but never seem to post myself.
My eating has been pretty good -- between a funeral for a friend who died suddenly last week (heart failure, 61 yrs old) and the heat last weekend through yesterday, I haven't been eating much, but making sure when I do it's good stuff. Luckily I'm not an ice cream eater, considering how hot it's been! But the Edy's strawberry fruit bars are good... Water has been good. I'm meeting or exceeding my 100 oz goal almost every day, hard to do on weekends, but I still get in at least 40 oz then. It's much easier when I'm sitting at my desk and have a bathroom just 30 feet down the hall! I've been doing my crunches but that's all I've done for exercise so far. For the next few weeks it's gonna be hard, but I know I've gotta make time. We'll have company next week so we've been cleaning and such getting ready for that, then once they leave we've got a few days and then have to leave for 5 or 6 days for a wedding. I know, excuses excuses... I really admire you ladies who have full schedules too but you still manage to make time for exercising. And especially those of you who have kids!
Almost forgot -- It's my weigh-in day! LZ I'm down 1, at 191.
OK, lunch break's over, back to work!

I had two pieces of pizza last night, can't be sad about it because I knew what I was doing, but I caved in. I was too tired to cook and I haven't even unpacked everything yet. . . so we ordered in.

I'm drinking water okay, and at lunchtime, I went to the gym and did a good 1/2 hour on the treadmill, which included some incline. My B12 arrived yesterday and I took a shot of it last night. It didnt hurt at all but I am used to sticking myself frequently because of a different medication I take. I suppose I had more energy today, I dont know. I walked 4.5 miles on the treadmill with an incline. My average speed was around 3.5 miles an hour and I was able to jog some too. I also didnt take a nap today - I usually end up falling asleep with the kids at nap time but I didnt today.
I did OK with my eating today. For breakfast I had some lite yogurt and 1/2 cup of granola. Lunch was a ham sandwich and carrots. DH grilled some pork chops so I had half of one for dinner and some green beans, carrots and a few bites of a dry baked potato.
I did my crunches too. When I was at the gym yesterday I saw some fitness trainer teaching Martha Stewart how to do crunches. She said to lay down and bend your knees up and squeeze your glutes and point your elbows to the ceiling. Im not doing a very good job of drawing that picture for you but I tried it today and I felt like I was working a lot harder than I was with my feet on the floor.
My daughter (age 3) watched me doing my crunches and she told me that she invented a new exercise. I humored her and let her teach me. Turns out that it also really worked my legs. She called it a back-n-jack (a spin off of a jumping jack, I think) Anyway, she asked me to lay on the floor on my back and put the soles of my feet together and knees bent and apart up in the air. She also had my hands straight up in the air and together. She said I had to slowly open and close my hands and feet, like I am clapping my feet and hands in the air. It was fun at first and Im sure I looked really goofy but she said I had to do 732 claps and I would be so strong. LMAO. Anyway, my inner thighs got a good workout and it was fun for us. I didnt make it to 732 but we quit counting anyway.
Anyway, it was a good day.

Hello everyone just wanted to check in real quick. I am still on vacation. I have been pretty good about my eating, except for 1 homemade cheeseburger with bun and an oreo, but super bad about any type of exercise. I haven't done cardio in a week and I only walked 1 day this week. I did break down and got on the scale thinking I was going to see the consequences of not working out but I didn't. I was down 3 lbs. Water intake has also been horrible. I won't get back into routine until next week so I hope to maintain until then.
I will read all posts and do personals next week. Hope everyone is doing great!

Good morning mamacitas....sorry I have not been sending personals out....lately I feel a bit overwhelmed....my house is in shambles..every room seems like a catastrophe..I have a to do list of things to do, errands to run..on top of this I have to work..OH and join a gym, eat right and get as thin as Victoria Beckham.....can anyone say pressure? No wonder I feel overwhelmed????!!!!
I'm sitting here trying to decide whether or not I want to go back on phen today? Do I start the madness again? The dry mouth, the heart palps, the insomnia.......or do I try to do this the regular way? Yesterday was the first time since my dad got sick that I got my appetite back full force, last night was awful..i was in BINGE MODE>...you know, when you want to eat anything that isn't nailed down and it doesn't quite satisfy you? I know that i am PMS too...so i take heart that that is why this is happening...My weigh in day is tomorrow and it ain't gonna be pretty.....I'm up around 3 lbs from last week..yes I know that some of that is bloat due to PMS,,but still? How long am I going to do this to myself? I'm not getting anywhere.......People say "You are so close to goal"...but I'm reallly not becaue my real goal is to have a fit, tight body and I'm so far from that it ainn't even funny.......I don't feel healthy. yesterday I could have literally taken a nap in the afternoon and slept through dinner......
okay that was my whining for today............................................. .........................................

Girls, I can't wait to get back on phen again... I haven't gone back to the doc because I was 170 (with clothes on) when I went a few weeks ago and I know she won't give me more unless she sees progress. Right now I'm 170 in the buff. Ugh! Hopefully, after this next week I can go back and get more... darn it, I better lose a few more! I love the focus and energy I get from it as well as the appetite suppression.
Is anyone on here NOT on phen right now? Just curious. It definitely makes it harder for me. In fact, I'm eating lower carb again just to keep my appetite/cravings in check again long enough to make it through my pms with minimal damage and to get my phen again.
I miss phen. :(

Hello all! Doing good again today, not much of an appetite -- I'm going to Sam's Club after work today; gonna put on some comfortable shoes and do a workout of shopping/walking! Here's my menu so far today:
Low sugar/low carb yogurt
7 Quaker mini rice cakes
1 medium size banana
Since I'm still full from the banana, I'll wait until 4 pm, then eat my lunch (1/2 brown rice/black eye peas mixture, and a small fruit cup) -- I'm really pushing to get my fruits in, trying to incorporate them into my breakfast and lunch menus. Could do better with the water, so I'm pushing it as of right now!! I have been faithfully taking my multivitamin every day - I believe the B vitamins are helping with my weight loss too --
Mami, it is not hard at all to gain the pounds, as LZ says -- you eat some of this, some of that, and next thing you know, you're not believing the scale numbers (that's what happened to me, here I am starting this challenge at 218, when I remember having numbers of 206 and 207 pounds during the last challenge ...) But see it the way I'm looking at it, it's yesterday's news, so onward and upward to getting them off plus some!! :)
Have a great day everyone!!

Mami, Ive found that when I gain a few pounds quickly that I can usually take them off rather quickly too. Its the weight that has been on these hips for years that is taking forever to get rid of.
Scat, I totally know what you mean about eating for the sake of eating but it never getting you full. Did you decide to take the phen or skip it?
CDC, do you drink the ballerina tea everyday? Im just curious about becoming dependant on it. I have that super dieters tea that I drink once a week or so. I am also taking a lot of fiber and drinking tons of water, like 4+ liters a day so you'd think it wouldnt be a problem but it is.
Today has been good so far. I had some light yogurt and granola for breakfast then went to the gym and walked 4.7 miles. I took my phen then after about an hour I drank 2 tablespoons of the ACV (might as well throw that into the mix) I had a slice of whole grain bread and almond butter for lunch. I am going to go get a pear in a few minutes. Tonight we're having pinto beans for dinner.
A group of girlfriends and I have been having a weight loss competition since January. Of course I havent mentioned my phen but our big weigh in is in about 2 weeks and I sure would like to lose at least 5 more pounds before then.

Hey chicas..
I took 1/3 a phen today...i know, pretty lame..but I wanted to start off slow....I think it worked because I went to Chili's with a friend and didn't eat any of the fries that my sandwich came with....and i didn't even eat the whole pita the sandwich was on, just the fajita stuff that was on the inside......found a place to take zumba lessons and a gym that I may join for the summer....time to get this show on the ROAD!!
I"ll take a half a phen tomorrow.....I don't know if I'm going to take phen just during PMS from here on out or just take it until my bottle is gone.....we shall see.......
mami good to see you are back..don't worry about those 8 lbs chica, you'll get back to routine and get them off as easily and they got on......
So far today:
EAS protein shake with fiber
coffee
fajita pita sandwich at Chili's minus most of the pita
unsweetened iced tea
a few raspberries
a few pieces of really BAD sushi! Bleh....

Today
Fiber one bar
Sancocho soup (plaintains, chicken, potatoes) with 3/4 avacado..
15 mini rice cakes (apple cinamon)
100 cal snack pack.
So today was my second day of curves. I really like it. It is circuit training for dummies. LOL. I have a free 2 week trial so I will let you know how it goes. I even rode my bike to curves (1 mile)..
I got a Nike heart rate monitor from costco today. (35$) I hear that you should be at a certain percentage of you max heart rate to loose fat. So I am trying the monitor out. I will let you know what I think.
Other than that all is good. I am really working hard and have lost 16 pounds and over 5 inches. I did look at bathing suits today but still dont feel good enough to buy one. Anyways keep up the good work everyone. I am going to do my crunches now. :)

If you buy the really green plantains they have the same consistency of a potatoe. So just throw them in your soup.

i loveeeeeee plantains. I eat them fried. My dad likes them in soup. I have been wondering if there is a way to bake them or fry in cooking spray until brown, instead of frying in oil??
also the beans and rice alternative with brown rice is good.

146.6! -1.8
This has to be quick for me as I am off to see my Mom in OKC (31/2-4 hours away).
I went ahead and did a good FIRm workout and 100 crunches first thing. The scale actually motivated me.
What is working for me is consistency with the medicine and drinking a protein/fruit shake each morning.
Bratty, I feel for you. I love my phen too, probably too much. I can do without it, no problem, however, the scale shows it and quick. I love food too much!
Still missing a few weights. I'll get the chart posted sometime before Monday morning. I am helping my MIL all day tomorrow.
Have a great, skinny day and skinny weekend full of good for you food and exercise!

YEAHHH how cool is this thing. I am munching on some blueberries now and gaging down my water as usual. I think I am going to make shrimp for dinner. That sounds yummy. lunch.. maybe some grilled chiken and veggies.. Gotta run and clean my house while I have energy. LOL :) Good job guys and keep up the good work.

Hi TruLu, saw your comment; yeah, I too am concerned about becoming dependent on the 3 Ballerina Tea ... I like the fact that it has no caffeine, and know folks who relax with a cup of something hot in the evening, so for now, I'll continue -- there were some weekends where I didn't drink it, and didn't have a problem using the bathroom, so for right, I don't think I have a dependency of the tea in order to go - I'm leaning more towards both sides, the dieting part of the tea and the bathroom part; thanks for asking about me!
Hello all!! Still eating good!! Went to Sam's Club last night, got some good walking in with hubby, and bought healthy foods like fruits, salmon, brocolli, small lite fruit cups, things like that, and passed right by the Cracker Jack bags and other sweets -- I'm not saying it was easy; I'm just saying that I got out of there without that stuff in my cart, and for me, that's major!!
Menu for today:
one small can of lite fruit
1 pack of peanut butter crackers
1 plum
1 naval orange (delicious!)
medium lettuce salad w/warm chicken cutups, and viniagrette dressing (so good!)
I think I'll have the salmon with brocolli for dinner tonight, and definitely want to get on my bike tonight for a good workout --
LZ, my weight for this morning is 212; down another pound from the 10th, yes!! Congrats on your weight loss; as I've said before -- "t'aint easy"!! :) Have a great night all, filled with dreams of wearing smaller sizes, and plenty of zzzzzzzz's!!

No, that is not silly at all...its fine to look at other people and want to strive to feel taht way.....when i see a buff person at the gym (cut arms..tight butt) I think how great it would be to be strong and healthy like that......although I probably could never look like that unless I worked out five hours a day...doesn't hurt to think that way.

And thanks for the reply Its good to know im not the only one that feels like that from time to time.
Well I didnt workout yesterday but I plan to do something today. Its raining here so Im hoping it stops so i can walk later.
my eating has been okay but I have been drinking alot more. My stress level has been crazy. I better turn away from drinking now before I start getting addicted.
I decided that the didrex isnt for me, it does work but you dont get the energy rush like phen and I need that.
My best friend gave me an over the counter pill called lipo 6 for her, and it works, I had energy and it supressed my appetite until the next morning. I am thinking of investing in them when i want to take a break from phen.
well off to do some cleaning have a great day!

Quick for me guys. Family responsibilities have been kicking my behind the last couple of days. I'm getting ready for church and then I have to go help my MIL again this afternoon. I'll be able to catch up later.
If anyone would like to come up and post a new challenge for the week, I would be appreciative. If not, I;; get it posted late tonight or early in the morning.
I am doing good on my eating and water, so so on exercise. I worked out good Friday, stood on my feet for 11 hours yesterday and will stand on them all afternoon today. Oh, and I worked outside an hour this morning.
Off to church. Happy Father's Day. Enjoy your Dad's. I'm missing mine.

I pledge to drink 64 ounces of H20 this week..I've been bad when it comes to the water situation as of late.
Taking my phen today and hoping for the best. I think i'll be able to control myself and eat rather well becaus I pretty much know the menu, my MIL always makes the same dang thing....I also know that there is going to be desserts there.....woot woot.....diving in headfirst....as long as I keep things in check for most of the day I think I earned a little dessert.
taking that break from adipex was a good idea, because now i feel like it is working well......couldn't sleep last night but neither could MOM28 so atleast i had company...LOL...

Ok SOOO.. Bad weekend. Not horrible but bad. Yesterday I made a really nice dinner for my hubby. In turn that meant that I ate it. I didnt eat a lot but I know it was over maybe even way over. Filet minion, only had a couple pieces, alaskan king crab, a pound, (tiny bit of butter), lobster tail (only a bit cause I dont like lobster) corn chowder soup (full of calories and happens to be my fav soup) like 400 cal per CUP.. umm yeah glass of wine. So folks dinner was great but of corse I felt guilty. Plus I was unable to workout like I wanted to b/c my hubby works the weekends and no daycare. Oh yeah I also binged a whole bag of mini rice cakes. probly 500 calories. GRRR at least it wasnt milano haha 3 cookies would have been that.
I have been kinda hungry because I only took 1 phen sat and 1 phen sunday. Those were my last 2. I couldnt get my refill b/c it was too early. (my doc approved me taking 2 but never changed my R X). So today I start with none and have to call my doc when they open.
Weigh in tommorow. It seems to me that my scale is broken b/c it keeps saying the same number. Oh well I am measuring tommorow too. I like inching away. :)

Hello all! Both my daughter and I went to my "dual" doctor's visit yesterday morning, and I weighed in at 214, so that is to be my weight for the week; the funny thing is that my daughter is also at 214!!! We both want to get to Onederland badly, so the race is on!!! So daughter was given the 30 mg of phen, up from the 15 she was taking previously (that wasn't working for her), and I got another month's worth, so I'm committing not only to drowning myself in water each day (I've been enjoying our weekly challenges big-time!), but also to making sure I take my phen and multivitamin each day - this combination will guarantee success for me, I know it will!! I also want to concentrate on making fish, chicken, brocolli, salads and fruits a major part of my daily diet -- still gotta get my pictures uploaded on my site, and with this being the season of being super busy, all I can say is whew!!
Here's to a lower weight number for us all next week; have a great day!! :D

My dad's situation has taken yet another turn....doctors are still talking about dialysis.....i am devastated and I know this is somethign that he wont' agree to do. My father never had a history of kidney disease until he took coumadin and almost bled to death from it. How nice that something that was supposed to help him has ruined his life. I'm so angry right now and sad at the same time. My weight loss is really on the bottom of the list of important things..tomorrow i'll be trying to do research and see what we can do to delay dialysis and possibly transplant.
If anyone knows anything on the subject please feel free to PM me.
I want to wish everyone here lots of luck. I love you all. You have been such a wonderful source of inspiration to me and I appreciated your prayers.....I ask you to please continue to pray for my dad.......I have not given up hope that things can improve and that the Lord is going to give us a miracle.
Peace

Scat - I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. He is definitely in my prayers.
Candy - Hey girl. It's good to see a few familiar names here. And nice to meet some new phrends as well :)
LZ - well.....I actually met him in August last year, my profile was on this dating website and one day, he wrote to me. I read his profile and liked it - we have a lot of the same things - I thought it wouldn't go anywhere b'cos we both live in different countries but liked him enough to want to be his email buddy. We kept writing to each other, it was totally platonic (or so I thought) and then after Christmas, it began to change. I had to go to Australia for an interview in February so I told him and he asked if I would like to have dinner with him and so we met and everything just clicked. I will be moving to Australia once we're married and will be a housewife until my spouse visa is approved. Which is quite scary as I have never been a housewife before. But I'm happy and very much in love.
TruLu - it's very ice meet you. And I just wanted to say how great it is that you've managed to lose 20 lbs in 2 months. If I could lose that much before my wedding, I would be over the moon! Anyway words of advice?

Hi all.
Scat, so sorry to hear about your Dad. I would be interested in anything you find out to help the kidneys in liu of dialysis. FIL has stage 2 kidney failure because of his diabetes, stage 3 is when dialysis is required.
Pooh, hang in there. Sometimes it goes slower than we'd like. (understatement of the year material for sure:rolleyes:)
CLO, I am so happy for you. Will you be living in a city or in the outback? I have always wanted to visit Australia. I'll give you a year or so to settle in, OK?:blabla:
CD & Candy, you go girls! It is so motivating to me when someone reaches wonderland!
Tenacious, WTG on the maintaining w/o phen! So is your phen working better this week?
Mia, WTG on your gym attendance. I need to exercise today. It is going to be heavy yardwork. I am going to spend several hours out there after I get done here.
Candy I drank over 100 ounces of water yesterday. Of course, daughter and I had movie theater popocorn and TOM is here, but I still was down 1.2 at TOPs and my weigh-in isn't until Friday. Hopefully, I will be down more by then.
Angel, great loss!
Have a skinny day all...and chug that water.:spider_red:

Hi to everyone else. It'll be very hectic for me until next week when we have our annual general meeting but I'll check in everyday on weekdays. Weekends are a bit difficult b'cos I don't have a computer at home. Is there a specific day to weigh ourselves in this challenge?

Thanks LZ. I think I'll pick Friday as my weigh in day.
For some reason am feeling very tired today and just had to take a vitamin B. My colleagues are telling me it's probably because of the weather - it's been really hot and humid here the past week. Haven't started phen yet.

I used it in 2004 and lost 16lbs in a month and a half. After getting to my goal, stopped the med, and managed to keep the weight off for about a year. Turning point was when I went to nursing school. In the span of 3.5 years, I've gained 41.2 lbs, weighing in at my highest with 141.2 lbs. I decided to go back on phentermine to prevent getting any heavier. So far, getting results. Thank you for posting and encouraging everyone. This is exactly what I needed.
Goals:
1. Weight loss of a certain 24 pounds over 12 weeks.
2. 80 ounces
3. Exercise – 45 min 4x/wk
week 1- 6/2/08: 141.2 lbs
week 2- 6/9/08: 141 lbs
week 3- 6/16/08: 138 lbs
week 4- 6/18/08: 135.6 lbs

Good morning ladies. Sorry I have been MIA long, long, week. I had to go with my son to his college for his student oriantation and register for classes, it was 2 full days of walking and meetings and activities and I definately got in my exercise without even trying. I have not taken my phen in almost a week I am gonna get started again today and AGAIN get back on track. It seems I spend more time getting on track than actually staying there.
By the grace of god ONLY my weigh in on Monday was 210.5 . I weighed just didn't have time to post. I am trying on the water but it is not easy.
Hope everyone has a great day! :D

I ended up with an extremely high calorie day yesterday with 1939. That means I need an extremely low day today!
Welcome Blacktann! Glad to have you.
What I want to know is what is the last thing you did that you were so mad at yourself for? I mean something not necessarilly weight-loss related, but that could have been avoided if you had just pulled your head out. Know what I mean?
Well, we have that new camper that has only been out once. Hubby had it plugged up in his shop and I was there when he did it. What did I do? Ran over that built-in power cord with the lawn mower. Oh, I couldn't believe it.:o Hubby was less than thrilled too. I called him 30 minutes before he left work hoping he would have his anger under control by the time he got here. (Takes him over an hour to drive home.) He wasn't happy, but he didn't throw a huge fit. After all, when I got my new stove last fall he tried to hook up the power, did it backwards and blew out the main brain. Also, recently he has hit my hoses to the cattle tanks with the tractor on two different occasions. I have little flags out there marking them now. That is what I am going to do when the new power cord comes in.
So anyway, I was working outside and I drank three Bud Lights while waiting for Hubby to get home. I did follow those up with 40-50 more ounces of water and I had already had my 75 oz.
This morning I got up early worked two more hours out in my garden and then it started raining. Seems to be clearing up now.
CLO, we've been in the upper 90's F with much humidity too. Hopefully this rain will keep the temp down in the 80's today. What kind of temps have you been having?
Ready2FeelGood, congrats on the loss!
OK, I need to get this house cleaned up. i have someone coming to give me an estimate on replacing some of my windows.

I went wondering about the shops after work yesterday, walked a lot so that's good. Anyway, I was looking for a good push-up bra. Not that the girls are sagging - but I just wanted to get some nice cleavage if you know what I mean. Came across this store called La Senza. Amazing lingerie. It was like Christmas for me! :D

Hi Ladies!
LZ, my weight on Wed was 192, not sure if it was from camping/alcohol/company/eating out, or Tom, but whatever...
And just when my knee is feeling good and I think I can get some exercise in... You'd think I would know by now that camping+alcohol=horseplay and horseplay=mary gets hurt! Hubby fell off of me during the chicken fights and when he went to get back on, he pulled me back somehow and I lost my balance and we both fell, resulting in my knee doing something strange. So I'll do my physical therapy band exercises and try to get the muscle/tendon/whatever back in shape, I'm not limping anymore and the swelling is almost all gone, but if I try to do anything more than a casual walk, fer-git-it! And now that our company finally left yesterday and we have our house back, I should be able to get back on my exercise bike.
Gotta get to work. I'll try to check in before we leave on Wednesday for our friend's wedding...
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Bratyy, got you too. Y'all posted between the time I first looked and got the chart posted.
Pooh, I appreciate the story on getting the atty yelled at. Oops! I hope others will share some stories. Phen makes me goofier than normal anyway. It affects my memory.
OK, I also have a lot going on. Getting ready to move my Mom to a different nursing home Tuesday. Me and SIL will be handling it all. I'm getting ready to go over to the new home after while and take care of some more details. Also, son is leaving for church camp Sunday and I have to make sure he has everything he needs. The week of the 4th we will be camping on the Arkansas river on vacation. I realised this morning that Daughter and I are going to have to go back to Doc next Thursday a week early so I have to be diligent between now and then.
The first thing I did this morning was 45 minutes of FIRM DVD. Yeah me. I am going to weigh again this afternoon as I was retaining water this morning. I am drinking more watwer than ever today.
More later.

Hey there I am new to this site and I am in need of some support. I have managed to love 15-20lbs on my own in the last year up and then down and up and down. I really didn't eat much during the day just some slim jims. For dinner I did very well. Hubby had grilled me some chicken breast with veggies. It was delicious. I drank about 120 oz of water. We went walking/jogging for about an hour. WOW I am hurting! My legs are killing me.
TODAY
B - Omelete with sausage and cheese
L - Left over grilled chicken and veggies
D - not sure yet
Exercise: Uhmm I am hurting bad so I might not be able to get through any workout but I will try.
Water: I have drank 3.5 bottles of my 6. =)

As I was driving starving today I accepted that I was going to go to farmer boys and get a farmer burger. Probly has 1200 calories so I was only going to eat half. As I drove in the driveway there was like a 10 car wait. I pulled back out and went home. Someone up there was looking out for me. Now I am awaiting my ravioli to cook. Only 3 grams of fat versus 30 or 40. I got burnt tanning yesterday and therefore didnt go workout yesterday. Today it is only 104 degrees where I live. I think if I walk outside I just may spontaneously combust. So I am hoping to go to curves tonight. I may just drive. or keel over on my bikeride. I havent decided which one yet. I have been chuggin the H2O today so I am happy for that. Have a good weekend guys!!! ohh yeah

Lz i have been reading up on calorie cycling/carb cycling, and also the cab addicts diet.
the calorie cycling is something like your doing, and i noticed if i do have a day that i have a few mishaps and eat a bit too much I sittl lose 1lb or so. So Im going to put it to a test and see.
Also the carb addicts diet, for anyone that want to do low carb but cannot stay away from the good ones. Is when you have 2 low carb meals, 1 low carb snack and 1 meal anything you want.
wich may go in hand with an article i read yesterday about the big breakfast diet. It said if you eat at least 600 of yoru calories for breakfast then you will have a lighter lunch and dinner wich is good because you burn most of your calories throughout the day. hmmmmmmm
I know, i know im always reading up on the latest diet but Im on a quest to find what works for me.

Hi folks,
After being in the house crying and being devastated this past week I have decided to take baby steps to take care of myself again. I am going to go to the gym in a little while. It will be the first time I did that since my last day of teaching aerobic dance which was over a month ago. I sort of had workout phobia after that..I know it sounds stupid but I did and I do..but today I'm forcing myself.
When my dad got sick the beginning of this month my life was just about taking care of him, and after our bad news this past week nothing else took priority except me taking care of my children. Staying home crying today will do me nor him any good....so off I go.
Yes, I have lost weight but don't congratulate me please. It wasn't done with diet , exercise or even phen.....it was because of devastation, and when I get very stressed I lose my appetite....I have also lost some hard earned muscle too....so I probably look bigger than back in february when I weighed about the same but was losing through exercise.
Thank you everyone for your prayers and if I may be so selfish I ask you to continue to pray that my father gets healed.
Keep up the good work everyone, I am so proud of my friends on this challenge.
LZ....You need to correct the chart because as you can see by my siggy I am down some.....;) I hope all goes smoothly today with your mom and the nursing home, I send out prayers to you and to her.
Mami- I totally believe that the lighter you eat as the day progresses the better. In other countries like Jamaica, people eat big breakfast, big lunch but dinner is light. They believe this is better for digestion because when you sleep you aren't able to burn calories. Another thing is that my trainer told me no eating after 6pm...I told him he was crazy because that is when I just get started..LOL..but seriously, he truly believes that taking in less calories at night helps your body work more efficiently...by the time morning rolls around you are hungry and ready for a big breakfast again so it works out fine.

Scat I'm gald to see you around. How is your dad? Have you guys decided which way to go yet? You guys are in my prayers.

Yesterday I was running around with my brother pickng up his SIL from the airport and running other errands so no dinner but I did get all my water in. No exercise. Today I have a full day with going to get my nails done, grocery shopping, visiting my grandma, getting my daughter's glucose monitor, washing hubby's truck (well taking it to a car wash lol), then cleaning house and doing laundry. I am planning on getting my Tae Bo in this evening while laundry is going. Tomorrow we got to Phoenix early in the morning to meet a dear online friend who I have been talkign to for 2 years but have never met!. She has a 3 hour lay over so we are going to pick her up and take her to lunch...I'm so excited!

Thanks for asking bout my dad Pooh. He is NOT doing dialysis...he fired his nephrologist. I am getting his medical records and I found the top notch doctor here for a second opinion. He is also doing a low protein diet with amino acids to help improve his kidney function. I'm putting him on the diet, I feel like his doctor but i'm doing a hell of alot more than she did......he goes to a bunch of quacks that made him sicker than he already was.....I am considering a law suit but right now the important thing is getting him healthy again.

Hey all...I'm down a little more today...Not the biggest importance to me right now but it stil a diversion. Spoke to my dad this morning and he said he feels really good today, the best that he has felt in a long time.....so happy for that.....I believe in the power of prayer and I believe that he is being helped.....prayer and the combinaton of low protein diet.....
YOu know in our society we are so quick to jump to medicines and procedures to help our medical issues....yes, these things are helpful and important...but the base of health is our NUTRITION...so many things can be prevented if we eat a certain way.
I used to make fun of holistic doctors, now i'm seeking one out to help my father with his issues......All of us here are on our way to a healthier life because we are focusing on what we eat and trying to be healthier that way.......
Just had to send that thought out for the day. It is a beautiful day here today even though they keep saying it is going to rain......I am continuing my cleaning efforts......house is lookin' spiffy......I"m planning my eating and working out schedule for the week....
peace to all , have a wonderful day.

Got your #'s Ms. Frank.
OK, let's see if we can help. Do you track your food? Spark People dot com is free as is extra pounds dot com and others. Try posting your menu here daily. Be specific on your quantities.
How much are you exercising. What specifically are you doing? How long have you been doing the same diet and exercsie program? Sometimes it helps to change intensity, frequency or type of exercise.
I am going to keep you in mind when posting the new challenge. This is my last week before vacation. Lets see if we can shake some weight lose!
Scat, great to hear Dad feels so good today.
So, I give myself permission to take a nap and what happens? Not sleepy a bit.

Ok the 45 cardio should be good because I already do 1 hour 5-6 days a week
My goal for this week, besides the cardio, is eating better.
For the last 2 days I've eaten poorly. I haven't had a TOM for 10 months and since I've lost weight, it feels as if its starting up. I craved everything this weekend and did not deny myself.
For this week I will give it a 100% to drink more water, and eat sensibly
Last week I was 188lbs. Will not weigh myself for a while ( afraid )

I'm off on the right foot this morning. I got my cardio done plus weights and about 150 crunches. I'm also already past 20 ounces of water.
My weight is down two pounds this morning which makes it 144.6 shhhh! I ended up with 1325 calories yesterday. I have been battling a sore throat and had plain ice cream from the DQ for dinner.TOM is finally gone. Daughter's day off is Friday, so that is when we will go to Doc.
I have to get my housework done and make a batch of sugar-free peach jam and then it is off to OKC.
Scat, I don't know why I fight the exercise so much. It makes me feel so much better. If I get up and do it ASAP it seems to make my day get off on the right foot.

Happy monday ladies!! I am off to a good start today. Dropped of my sons, went tanning, then came home and decided to run a mile. 3/4 into my mile i had a panic attack.. my heart rate was 250. I sat down and calmed myself down then finished my run. I have had these things for years. Not often maybe once every couple of months. It was about 85 degrees running. Add that to me trying to run to techno and bam. panic attack. Oh well aside from that already drank 60 oz of water. That is wierd for me. Its only 10.. Guess i am ahead.
I am excited for this weeks challenge. I get my excersize machine today. So i will probly be spending most of the day putting it together.. hahaha
Havent pooped in a week. I will take my laxative tonight b/c weigh in is tommorow. WOOOHOOOO
