View Full Version : Some great recipes but I can't have most. And about Ketosis.

Wow, As I'm reading some of the recipes & things everyone is eating & wondering how come I can't eat those things? I'll be going on my third week and my doctor never mentioned anything about ketosis to me. When I asked the question, it was kind of avoided. My first week, my diet consisted of eggs, any kind of white fish, beef, green veggies(fresh), grapes, apples & the cabbage soup flush. The 2nd week I was able to add chicken & citrus fruits. After my 2nd weigh in I'm finally allowed to have dairy but only 1cup of skim or soy milk a day & no other dairy. Of course, all the water, green/ white tea I want. Does this sound about normal? I did slip up tonite and had to have some crawfish before season is over..lol I'm a cajun girl! Couldn't help myself :D I wonder if that's considered a white fish?

Ketosis is nothing more than the liver converting fat into fatty acids,I dont now why people are so worried about it,it's a common process,I am assuming your on low carb.

yes, I'm on lo carb. I actually think my body went through ketosis the first week. I never sweated so much in my life either! lol My doc has me on a very limited diet and adds to it once a week. I'm hoping tomorrow when I go for my weigh in, he'll tell me I can have something sweet. ( besides fruit)
