I've only been taking phentermine for 4 days now. The doctor instructed me to take half of a 37.5 pill every day. Anyone know why I should only take half? The first day I took a whole pill on accident. I had a ton of energy and loved it! But then I realized I was only supposed to take half a pill, so started taking half a pill. I can tell that I still have energy, but obviously not as much. I'm itching to lose some wieght, but I feel like it won't happen on half a pill. I have to go back in 30 days for a follow up with my doctor. Will he up the dosage at all?

I started w/ half also. It seems to be working. I've read here that it's possible to develop a tolerance to phen which will make it less effective. By starting with half it will give you more options later if you need to take the whole thing. Dosages are usually prescribed based on what your doc thinks you need and what your body will tolerate based on your blood pressure etc. good luck, It may take some time but it does work.

Im also in Texas.. Started taking this 5 days ago.. I only take 1/2 pill.. Its working just fine.. I was one of the one who used Phen-Fen back in 1997- My body did get addicted to the Phen, and I had to go off for a little while to get back on track.. I suggest just taking the 1/2 dose, until you plateu.. Then go to the full pill..
