since summer is right around the corner I realize i still have time to get right. But i need to be more accountable.
What I started this thread for is not for a challenge as a group but more like a self challenge with a group of phen friends.
Example, i will state every week what i will challenge myself to do then at the end of the day, i will edit my post and state my outcome..

Anyone can jump in, and feedback is welcome.

This week I challenge myself to not cheat today 5 out of 7 days
i challenge myself to workout 5x this week=

5/19-no workout,
my eating was good, i had to fight the temptation of something sweet but i did it!
b- 4oz steak, .5 cp strawberries
s-slimfast low carb shakw
l-4 oz steak, .5 baked potatoe, 1 cup salad
d-3 oz chicken, 1 cup salad

I challenge myself not to eat junk food late at night..I will post my journal here:

Monday

coffee
protein slim fast with 1 scoop colonic fiber

roasted chicken on a 100 calore whole grain roll
1 slice swiss cheese
1/2 Tb. olive oil mayo.

baked chicken breast
spinach with olive oil and lemon

2 fiber one bars
1 baby bel Lite cheese
1 diet coke
3 whole wheat crackers with hummus

colonix tea

Hi guys,

I challenge myself to exercise 5 days a week for 30 minutes and drink more water....

I'm not gonna post my food yet...cuz I am EMBARRESSED!!!! LOL!!!

But I did do my 30 minutes of exercise today!

well icoudl have doen without the crackers at night...but overall that is alot better than the way i have been eating this past month!

Hi 4mami_mia! I really like that you posted this thread, it makes me feel accountable to do my challange! I had actually thought of posting this kind of thread last week, but I didn't want to bore anyone by posting whether or not I had exercised!!! Its good to know some else has similar ideas!!!

Well today is day two of my challange and i have already done my 30 minutes of exercise for the day!!!

5/19- 3o min exercise

Good After 4mami_mia and everyone!! I have been taking Phen for 5 days and I am really happy that I found this challenge, I needed some motivation!!

My goal is to cut out sugar, drink at least 80 oz of water and work out at least 5 days this week for 30 mins.

I got this!!!!

Sweet_girl your doing great,, I realized I need to make gradual changes rather than big ones.
I actually can do 5 minutes more on the elliptical machine. I have went from 10 min to 25 minutes and high levels! i think next weeks challenge is to add 5 minutes more of ellitptical time or walking.

hi misadevoe! how is it on phen so far?
Are you focusing on those goals right now or are you breaking them up into weekly goals?
I see your stats, you will be in onederland in no time.
Im cant wait until im there

Thanks 4mami_mia!!! I totally know what you mean about taking gradual steps instead of leaping, this is why I choose 30 minutes over and hour because whenever I do an hours worth of exercise I do great for two weeks then give up!!! I am try to do less so hopefully I stick to it longer.
But today I did do 10 extra minutes!!!! So...

5/20- 40 min!!!

I really hope i can stick with this plan. I am doing a stationary bike, I put it on mountain mode so it rotates from easy to medium to hard, I SWEAT ALOT!!! 4mami_mia, you say your working the elliptical, that machine is SO HARD, I dont think I could hang on there for more than ten minutes so CONGRATS to you for building your time up!

My goal is to drink more water and find healthier food to eat. For the past weeks I've done some sort of aerobics for 1 hour and 3x a week weight. I think things will fall into place when I get the eating right.

Today
Breakfast: Special Cereal
snack: Peanuts
( forgot to eat lunch)
Early Dinner: A tuna fish hoagie ( AFTER DINNER 3 HERSHEY KISSES )
I have to eat more.

Hi 4mami_mia! I'm doing pretty good on Phen, but i was still getting really hungry. I read a post where someone suggested taking the pill on a empty stomach, that seemed to help some.

I figured I would make all those my weekly goal, do you think thats too much to try at one time? Today I actually haven't eaten any sugar (I'm a little grumpy!!) and I am pretty close to the 80 ozs of water, thats pretty easy since the Phen makes me thirsty. BUT the working out is a WHOLE other story!! I am determined to work out when I get home even though I hate it!!

Onederland is now seems like an obtainable goal, so I am looking towards 190 now! Hopefully, thats right around the corner! You'll be here with me in Onederland in no time, before you know it!!!

Hi Misadevoe!
I think you can do those goals if you feel you can handle it. If you are giving up sugar give it aleast 3 days and you will feel better, your probably just going through withdrawls. I know when I was on Atkins for the first 3 days i was mean and grouchy and had headachs, after that I was cool.

I SOOOOO know what you mean about exercising, I FREAKIN HATE IT!!!! But since it is my goal to work out 5 days a week, and I have been doing it for two weeks (3 days a week then) I have a tip. When I am working out I have to have something keeping my mind occupied or I will forever stare at the clock, so I watch TV but I hate commericals.
So what I do is I pick a series that I can get into and since I have blockbuster online I rent the whole series, not a once, but little by little.

For example right now I picked The Sopranos, I rent a disk that has 4 episodes on it and I watch them while I work out. They are each about an hour and I only work out 30 minutes so they give me 4 workouts. Even when I am done exercisng I continue watching them cuz I am so caught up into it. Having a series really keeps me entertained because I am able to follow a story line everytime I work out and there are no commericals. I have done this with Big Love, Lost and now I am on the Sopranos...
Anyways I didnt mean for this to be so long but that is what I do to help me stay on track and exercise.

LOL I SOOO DID NOT WANT TO EXERCISE, but I KNEW I was going to have to post it so I pushed myself to do it!! Yay posting it puts pressure on me! So I did my 30 mins.

Totally got sidetracked yesterday and did not post my menu. But I ate really well.
I feel like I am "in the zone," I have actually been eating well all week. Sticking to low-carb. I am taking pilates twice a week and doing some kind of aerobic excercise on the other 5 days. I am confident, that this is going to be the week that I lose more than 3lbs. I WILL weigh no more than 207lbs on my next weigh in, which is Monday.

today was bad:

1/2 grilled chicken hero
spicy california roll sushi
small cheeseburger made with 87 percent beef
1 slice cheese
1 whole wheat bun
frosting off a small piece of cake
bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar..

too many carbs, not enough good stuff...totally ****ed today.

Scat dont feel soo bad i had mcdonalds for dinner. (didnt intend to though)

my hubby aggrevated me because he was suppose to watch the baby while i went to the gym. He didnt get back until late and had to go help in godmother with something so by then it was too late for me to even take the baby for a walk.

insearchof me send some of that motivation my weigh.

Well i can really see my body changing, i have small knots on my bicep(muscle)
my stomach is going down some. I still have a ways to go but im getting there

hopefully i can go to the zumba class tomorrow night.

Low-carb as I am doing it now it has always been difficult for me simply because I love fruit. That being said, I am now into Day 5 of the super strict Atkins induction phase, and I am feeling great. I plan on continuing until I reach Onderland. My fingers are crossed. :)

Good for you. Boy do I miss going to the gym. Other than my pilates class, I don't get out often. I got a free 6 week pass from Bally's the other day and I plan on getting the most I can out of that.

Insearchofme, Atkins always worked wonders for me and I never gained the weight back....until I started taking diet pills (not phen and not prescribed)!!! Anyways you can find alot of great stuff to eat, when I was on atkins i was on a low carb forum and you wouldnt believe all the stuff people would come up with! I use to like to buy ham for sandwhichs and roll them up with cream cheese in the middle, I would make a bunch then put them in the fridge for later. The only reason I am not on atkins now is because I burnt myself out and now I never want to eat another egg again!!! That and I can't put the bread down anymore...let me know if you want anymore ideas I am sure I can remember more.


Well today was a REALLY REALLY ROUGH day for me....Lately i have been having headaches everyday and today it turned into a MIGRANE. Do you remember any of the websites with low-carb ideas?? I am growing tired of boiled egg white myself..lol. I want to keep at this for at least another week.

I hope you are feeling better today. I suffer from migraines myself, and I know how horrible they can be. Don't force yourself to workout when you have a headache. Try ot take it easy and get some rest. Take care of yourself. :)

I think the site i use to use was atkinssupportgroup.com it is a forum like this. Also you can google in low carb foods and endless stuff comes up. I have some ideas but they are not healthy but you lose weight!!!
You can snack on slim jims, sunflower seeds, pig skins um i dont know how to spell it in spanish, mostly all sugar free candy....I use to buy the double cheese burger from mcdonalds and eat it without the bun....Also go to the health food stores, they carry stuff we couldn't imagine. They have low carb frappachinno mixes from Big Train I think it has 5 carbs but the package can be split in half and it still tastes sooo good.

Well I accomplished this weeks goal!!! I did my exercise today and I am feeling MUCH BETTER. I did 45 minutes to help make up for yesterdays lack of energy. Sooo....

hi trauma, i didnt get to go last week, the weather was kind of bad around here. But i downloaded a workout for online and burned it to a dvd. I will probably try it today.

Okay everyone totoally feel off track. I got kind of discouraged because my scale hasnt been moveing, i think its broke, and even though my clothes are loose i still look in the mirror and see fat. I know its a mental problem that i have to deal with, I will probably see fat even when i get out the off 200's but i will work on it. Im in the process of taking down all wallpaper(any tips will be appreciated) so i havent been on much, But i will figue out my new week goal today.

Ok, I didnt post yesterday cuz I was on a mini vacation! But I want to get back on track with the exercise, I reached my goal last week!!! This week I want to keep the same goal except it will be 4 days this week for 30 minutes.

exercise- i didnt work out much today, i did some of the zumba workout and i did some strength
eating- i did really good today in limiting my carbs, i got a headache and think i didnt get enough calories in though

tomorrow my exercise will be walking and amybe gym or turbo jam and gym

Hi all. I hope if you don't mind if I join you. I have really slacked off about the last six weeks and I need to get back on track before I blow my two years of hard work. :eek:I am up 10-12 pounds with no excuse. I am getting ready to go to my TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) meeting and will provide my official start weight this afternoon and update my tickers. I must re-set my goals and get on track. I am currently not on Phen and that is part of my problem. Mostly mental I am sure.

Here are my goals.

1. At least 30 minutes of cardio four times a week.
2. If I bite it I must write it. (keep my journal)
3. At least 75 ounces of water each day.

I need my phrends to help keep me motivated.:heart: Help, no :nosh:!

Good job sweet girl!

I used the weed eater for over 30 minutes and worked up a decent sweat. Starting weight 151, yuck!

I've done petty well on food today, but I am going to do better tomorrow and measure.

Hi Mami!

Doing well today. Worked in my garden tilling and weeding 11/2 hours followed by the afternoon outside at my Son's field day. Doing good on food so far. I am going to plug in the numbers and see how they look.

Going to diet Doc tomorrow. I don't know what he is going to say to me. I haven't been in almost eight weeks.

Regardless, I am ready to get this under control. I am going to start a new challenge to run from 6-1 through 8-31 and name it something along the lines of Another Chance or Continuing the Fight. Everyone wll be welcome. My #1 goal will be to lose 12 pounds. I should back down to 150 by then.

Hey Mami, I see you are going to do the carb cycling, did you end up googling it? I was thinking about you this morning while I was eating pasta (HAHAHA...j/k!!!) anyways the only thing I can think about that is bad is that when you stick to a low carb diet you eventually lose the cravings and it gets easier, but I dont think it will be like that when you are carb cycling because you wont be getting rid of the excess sugar in your body. I'm not sure if you know what I mean....If not let me know I will try to explain it better.....I use to be on Atkins for about a year.

I did turbo jam and a zumba video today. I plan to go to the gym later on.


Sweet_girl I have been reading some stuff on carb cycling and some people have said that its the opposite. when Its time to have carb day, they find it hard to eat carbs! Im putting my plan together today, since its soo many ways to do it. On my carb days I will have the whole grains for the majority of my meals or follow the 6 weeks makeover, for mmy low carb days i will follow the 6 days mini makeover plan wich only allows potatoe for carb for lunch and fruit carb for breakfast.
so i will still be eating healthy wich maybe a treat on high carb days.

I haven't been posting much because this site loads sooooooo slowly on my internet, it takes forever for me to do anything!

Anyways last weeks goal was to work out 4 days a week I only did three. This week I want to do all 5 days of at least 30 minutes!

Okay ladies I think we all need to make use of this thread again.

Today, I challeng myself to stick to my fast. Complete a Walk Away the Pounds (dvd) workout.

I am no longer taking phen, but I am also committed to taking my vitamins DAILY!

I AM GOING TO DO THIS!!!

today i had to run errands so I didnt eat until 2pm wich was some leftovers from dinner last night
rice + baked chicken quarters.

i have not exercised yesterday or today so im feeling bad, but i plan to go jogging this evening after the sun goes down

I have had 96oz. of water so far, and not a bite to eat!

So far so good. I am not even the least bit hungry. I even gave the kids chocolate chip cookies for a treat today and didn't think once about taking a bite. :)

i just got back from a 1 mile walk, wanted to do more but it got dark on me.

tomorrow I will challenge myself in the am to wake up early before work and do another 2 miles

I made it through breakfast with just my "lemonade" so far so good. I haven't worked out yet cuz the baby got up early:mad:

I am planning on doing the Biggest Loser workout.

I HAVE BEEN SO DEPRESSED LATELY BECAUSE I HAVE FALLEN OFF THE "WAGON" :(
I have been off of phen for two weeks, I HAVE NOT WEIGHED MYSELF BECAUSE I AM SCARED, I am having a hard time committing myself lately because I have been "partying" alot lately.
I have walked two miles on monday and tuesday night with my friend, however after we walk we "party" and BINGE....so i am just counteracting my walk.
I NEED A SLAP IN THE FACE and someone KICK MY A S S!!!!

OK enough venting about how stupid I've been...

My goals this week are to drink my gallon of water a day and to continue walking two miles a day. I also want to get back into my bike riding routine.

I HAVE BEEN SO DEPRESSED LATELY BECAUSE I HAVE FALLEN OFF THE "WAGON" :(
I have been off of phen for two weeks, I HAVE NOT WEIGHED MYSELF BECAUSE I AM SCARED, I am having a hard time committing myself lately because I have been "partying" alot lately.
I have walked two miles on monday and tuesday night with my friend, however after we walk we "party" and BINGE....so i am just counteracting my walk.
I NEED A SLAP IN THE FACE and someone KICK MY A S S!!!!

OK enough venting about how stupid I've been...

My goals this week are to drink my gallon of water a day and to continue walking two miles a day. I also want to get back into my bike riding routine.

You guys wouldnot believe what I just went thru. Phen rage has got the best of me. Last night meand hubby got into an argument. He wanted to use my car to go pick up his uncle out of town but i didnt want him using it cause i had to go to work in the am plus my car has been acting up. So things got heated he started dumping things out of drawers and such, phen rage got me and i hit him, he then grabbed my shoulder and pushed me. I called the police to calm him down and we both ended up in jail for domestic even though we both did not want to press charges. I just got out around 2pm. Hubby is still waiting to be released. This is crazy because we have been married 4yrs and never ever had a physical argument before. While in jail for the almost 24hrs i barely ate, food was terrible. I ended uo losing 2lbs. I walked 1 mile a couple of hours before i went to jail, so that combined with strict eatin, was the reason for the loss. when i got home i was soo hungry that i had a snickers, fries and mcdees nuggets.:mad: ill try walking in the am.

sweet, glad to see u, dont give up. after several retries of phen, i finally am being serious and now im seeing results. If you drink too much or eat too much of a not so great food just obligate yourself to a workout. /do something to burn some of those calories.

ISOM sounds like your doing well, keep it up.

I didn't drink Hardely any water.....Boo for me
And as I type I am eating chips with a diet soda......and if i had a piece of CHOCOLATE CAKE I'D EAT THAT S*H*I*T TOO!!! Damn! I dont know why I get sooooo freaking hungry and weird cravings at night!!!
I think i need to stock up on some sugar free gum or something!!!

Sugar free gum is a LIFESAVER!!! I buy 5 or 6 value packs at a time. It's a good investment. Now go get some today.

Sweet Girl, I have the cravings at night too. I take an afternoon dose of phen and that does help some. I made cupcakes and cake last night for my son's b-day party and yes ate a cupcake.

thanks everyone, i have done nothing but slept most of the afternoon yesterday, I was soo tired. Im trying to decide to go walking or not. I think i will. I need to relieve stress.

sweet, libby is always talking about sugar free jelly beans, for chocolate drink no sugar added hot chocolate or eat sugar free fudge bars. Remeber a craving only last minutes, it will pass.

I honestly believe that if you listen, the universe speaks to you all the time call me crazy. But I do.

I was having an awful day, obsessing over my recent weight gain, feeling hopeless and defeated. I turned on the t.v. thinking maybe watching a comedy would cheer me up. I can't remember what show it was or who said it, but the moment I turned the t.v. on, someone was saying the Arthur Ashe quote I have in my siggy. It took as a personal message. So I have now adopted this frame of mind and looking forward to brighter days.:D

I am still going strong. I don't remember how I actually felt the last time I did this "cleanse" but I feel great this time around. I don't know if it is because I am changing my personal mantra, but I feel good all the same.

I have a doctors appointment this evening to start back phen. I am getting nervous about facing the scale. If I were not doing this cleanse I'd be knee deep in Habanero(sp) Doritos right now. They have been calling me all week from my kitchen cabinet.

Well I gave into those Doritos yesterday, so my fast is over.

I have decided to go back to low carbing it for now.

todays menu

Breakfast - 3 slices of turkey bacon 1 boiled egg white

lunch --- tuna salad ---no bread

dinner --spaghetti and brocoli ( I know this is not very low carb)

snack ----pecans


So far I have had 108 oz. of water, working on 32 more. :)

you will be fine ISOM, what I realized if you limit yourself really strict for a few days, you can have your occasional snack and not gain. I had snickers about 2-3x this week and still lost. But i have been walking first thing in the am before breakfast most days(not every) and I havent been eating much after 7p


im down to 225.5 so im okay with that

today i did no exercise( well I worked 10-6 and did alot of back and forth walking

I ate 6" roasted chicken sub from subway
2 chocolate chip cookies.

I may eat my other 6" in a few

I think the calorie cycle stuff really work, im not doing it on purpose but some days especially work days i dont eat much and other days I eat more.

It's good that you have the self control two eat just two cookies. Unless there are only two cookies in the house I will eat more than that every time. :(

today i had no exercise but i worked

break-nutra grain bar
lunch- fried chicken wings 3pieces. 4 forkfulls of salad with ranch, tatian treat soda
snack- not even half of a zebra cake
dinner(late) red baron deep dish pizza singles.

okay i ate the wrong things and way too much for no exercise, hopefully i dont gain too much. tomorrow i will be back on track

Must have been something in the air yesterday. I did great until AFTER I had my last meal, hubby ordered Chinese it was all downhill from there.

The one good thing about yesterday is I drank over a gallon of water.

today was not too great but im down to 224.7, how i do not know but I waited from last night to weigh again in the am.

i walked 1.5 miles today
and went in to work for about 5 hours on my off day

breakfast- nutra grain bar, atkins advatange shake
s-none
l- 5 piece honey bar b q wings and a med. pepsi from KFC
s- med. fry from mcdees
d- small helping mac and cheese, baked chicken

well not soo great but hopefully the calorie increase will not make me gain too much

I am starting the week off great.

I had 1 slice of turkey bacon and 1 deviled egg for breakfast. I have also had 60oz of water already. :)

Lunch is going to be tuna salad --no bread or bun

snack --pecans

Dinner turkey burger --no bun

green beans

my goal is to walk everyday this week a minimum of 30min ( 1 mile or more)

ISOM your menu is on point.

Breakfast- piece of cantloupe
lunch- personal deep dish red don pizza( most of my carbs)
snack- fudgecycle? or salad
dinner- bar b q chicken, veggies.


i found that carbs for breakfast and lunch and 0 carbs at dinner works very well for me

Well I am done eating for the day nothing but water from here on in. I have already had a 96oz and I am working on my last 32.

I haven't done my second workout yet but plan to get busy once hubby gets home.

Ok so I've been on vaca, and I only exercised on Tuesday....I have been horrible on my diet.
And I know this sounds soooo CLICHE but I am going to start monday!!!!!
LOL....Tomorrow I am going to the beach with family and friends....AND DAMNIT I AM GOING TO EAT AS MUCH CLAM CHOWDER AS I CAN!!!!
And drink....
BUT SERIOUSLY MONDAY...MONDAY...MONDAY!!!!
WATER AND EXERCISE AND NO MORE LATE NIGHTERS(BINGEING)!
