Hey Krissy & Raquel - glad to have ya'll. Raquel - where are you from in Tenn? Close to the Alabama line??
Motown should be posting our challenge shortly. We had a challenge that started the beginning of the year that kinda fizzled, some lost their mojo, i was in a funk, some where overwhelmed, etc... So we're starting over cause I damn sure need an attitude adjustment if ya know what i mean ?? We've got a good bunch of girls here so feel free to b*tch, whine, spill your guts or whatever, that's what we're here for and I'm glad yall joined us. :p

I'll send ya'll a PM later, and I'll tell ya a little more about our group.

WELCOME !! :D

Hey Ladies:

This is just a reminder, if the Boot Camp Challenge for the week is too intense; PLEASE revert back to our standard routine of Walking at least 2-3miles per day, Squat 20 times per day, 50 leg spreaders per day and 50 – 100 sit ups per day. Getting at least a 20 minute cardio workout is always moving in the right direction for weight loss. Our standard routine will allow you to work at your pace and then hopefully will allow you to build up to the more intense workouts. And always remember to drink at least 64oz's of WATER per day, regardless of what routine you choose to do.

(Motown Boot Camp Workout)

Warm up with 5-10 minutes of light cardio (walking, marching in place, etc.)
Intermediate/Advanced: Perform each exercise for about 30-60 seconds. Modify according to your fitness level
Take a few seconds to catch your breath and move on to the next exercise
Run through the series as many times as you like
Cool down with 5-10 minutes of light cardio and stretching
Sip water throughout the workout. When you get tired, walk in place (don't stop moving)
Monitor your intensity. RPE should be between 6-9.

Slow Pushups
Begin in pushup position, on knees or toes. Perform 4 pushups, abs in and back straight. On the 5th pushup, lower halfway down and hold for 4 counts. Push back up and repeat the series - 4 regular pushups and 1 halfway--5 or more times.

Walking Lunge
Start at one end of the room and step forward with right leg about 3 or so feet. Bend both knees to 90 degree angles, lowering body into a lunge (keep front knee behind the toe). Bring the left foot forward and step into a lunge. Continue lunging, alternating legs, for 8 reps on each side or until you reach the end of the room.

Jumping Jacks
Do 20 jumping jacks, march in place for 8 counts, then do 20 more. Do more if you can!

Chest Squeeze
Hold any type of ball (medicine, soccer, basketball, etc.) in front of chest with both hands. Press into the ball and hold for 8 counts. Then, keeping the pressure on the ball, slowly straighten elbows a little and take the ball out and in 8 times. Hold steady for 8 more counts. You can also do this by simply squeezing palms together.

Ski Jumps
Stand with feet together. Jump to the right several feet, keeping knees bent and landing in a squat. Jump back to the left and continue jumping from side to side (place a book or pillow on the floor to jump over for added challenge) for 16 or more reps.

March in Place
Aren't you tired? Take a minute, catch your breath

High Jogs
Stand with feet together and hold arms straight out in front of you at mid-torso level. Jog in place, bringing knees high enough that they hit your hands (don't lower hands!). Repeat for 30 or more seconds.

Slow Pushups - Again!
Begin in pushup position, on knees or toes. Perform 4 pushups, abs in and back straight. On the 5th pushup, lower halfway down and hold for 4 counts. Push back up and repeat the series - 4 regular pushups and 1 halfway--5 or more times.

OK, I am gonna keep it as real as I can.

Motown, that is one heck of a challenge you laid out for us and I appreciate you for understanding that some of us - MEANING ME, will revert back to the original challenge. I will ATTEMPT to do some of the boot camp exercises that you spoke of, I will do my best !

For me, my biggest problem/challenge/obstacle is myself. SO - I am challenging myself to exercise daily and incorporate some of the moves that Motown has mentioned into my workouts. As I said I am on the slow boat, and slowly but surely coming out of this dang funk. The weather was absolutely gorgeous today, it's just a shame that I was to damn hungover to enjoy it - but man I had a great time last night !!

I need an attitude adjustment as I said, so I will take my pill, exercise, drink my water and walk daily. I will also post daily, even if it is to just to check in on ya'll. I am bound and determined to lose atleast 6 lbs by the end of this month before we move on to phase 2. Hopefully I can bust as* enough to possibly lose a couple of inches before we update our measurements at the end of the month. HMM... A girl can dream - can't she ?!

I know my shape wont change drastically enough to post a new photo at the end of this phase in the challenge, but at the end of Phase 2 - you girls had better watch out !!

My challenge for each of you is to also post something, anything - just check in once daily.

OK girlies, Bring it.
GAME ON .....

Wow this is great a fresh start.... just what i needed.. I am going to step on the scale in the AM and hope to have at least lost the 2lbs I gained I want to see the 170s again... Motown that is a challange I am going to do my best but I will def get the cardio in and even maybe a bit more... The other day I bought the Nike running campanion thing that tracks your running and all that it goes along with the Ipod Nano I have been looking into it for a while and with this funk I wanted something to motivate me so I splurged and ordered on and from others reviews it has helped them get there mojo back... so here is to a great week... and being 170 by the end of March..

Hey Ladies,

Like I said, if its too challenging, try to do something on this week challenge or Revert back to the basic's. Try to get a good workout by keeping the heart rate up for at least 20 minutes.

Gottado--I have the same Nike + system....you know we can find each other on there and challenge each other! I really like how it tracks what you have done...I think you will also like it.

Carmen--the Bama girl is back! Sorry I was MIA for a while, have had a rough past couple of weeks

and now having bf probs so it looks like no time is going to be an opportune time to start back so Im saying March 3rd is a great time to start a workout regimen again.

Hey Bammer !! Have missed you. Don't worry, you haven't missed anything. HA ! That's why we're doing a redo !!

Raquel - I read your other post about your weight loss, that is awesome !!

Krissy - Have you lost the 28 lbs since the beginning of Feb. ? What the heck are you doing to drop that kind of weight - that's great !!

OK girls, am heading out on a field trip with my Son. He actually ASKED me to be a chaperone !! How cool is that ??

Okay Ladies,
This morning I woke up and did that challenge, and Wow does my legs feel it. I feel muscular and all. And by time I got to the Jumping jacks...I was moving pretty slow from doign the lunges. How amazing is that...

FYI, I also shorten the work out from yesterday posting to something alittle more achievable.

So lets get off our butts and DO SOMETHING. Even if you March in Place, bring your knees high and it will accelerate the heart.

So get off your butty and lets get moving.

Dang ya'all talk a lot in a few days!!! lol. I have been out of town in San Antonio on my trip to Sea World. New motivation (again) to get my butt looking good enough to be in a wet suit. haha.

Ok, don't get mad at me....but here's my two cents from the other thing. If you want my honest opinion, which is what I am known for, here it is. If you don't want it...skip this post from one **** to another ****. It's out of love for those of you who read it!!!! Remember that!

************************************************** ************************************************** *******************
First of all...why I think so many people dropped out...

You have to remember, each of us that are still here....are doing a hell of a job and accomplishing something most people don't. How many people do you know set New Years goals and resolutions? Almost everyone. How many make it past the first two weeks??? half, maybe less. Then past the first month, it's down quite a bit more. So everyone who started with us, are not going to finish with us. Those who are serious about actually making a difference in their lives are still here. We may check out here and there to lack of motivation or whatever, but the fact you still keep coming back means you are serious about making a difference in your life. You should be proud of that alone!!!

Secondly, the weather ****s...it's winter time, we all knew that going in. But the point most of us had goals to be a certain way by summer. Before it gets nice you have to put in the work...or change your goal to next summer so you get your hiney moving when this summer is here. A lot of excuses are flying around (which is why we joined a support group anyways....to be held accountable!!! Right???). I am guilty myself of not getting off my hiney a time or two.

Trust me, I don't have all the time in the world to work out...so I made concessions because I want it bad enough. I used to get up at 7am every morning. Guess what, I still have the same duties and chores as before, but now I get my butt up at around 4 to 4:15 to be at the gym by 5. That's a HUGE lifestyle change...but a sacrifice I was willing to make. Somedays its very hard to push myself out of bed. And somedays I don't, but to know that I get my hiney up and to the gym at least 4 days a week is a major difference from where I started on Jan. 1. So I am proud of that. The more I work out the better the choices I make in my eatting habits. I don't want to down a bunch of cookies after I busted my *** for two hours in the gym that morning. I understand most of us have lots motivation here and there....but honestly, it's about not doing your normal routine and expecting results...you have to make sacrifices and put in the effort for it to pay off. We all know this.

As far as the workouts go...if you ever watch a tape you will notice there are usually 2 to 3 different levels of doing the exercise. So if you aren't able to fully jump from one side to the other, then step it out. If you are at a position where you have been doing more and are capable of doing so, add more resistance, like a stack of books to jump over. Modify them to fit your level of fitness. We are all on different levels and on how much we weigh, so not everyone can do the exact same things. But the main goal is to try something new each week and keep your body moving.

For Amber and I, it's easy to challenge each other to how many miles we do or something. But it is a little harder to keep up with what you do, however, if you have a system in place, then you just do it. I keep a log of what I do each day. I also have a set time that is mine and mine alone in the gym. I do my entire workout in that time frame. Those of you with husbands...it makes me laugh that you can't find time to work out. (NO OFFENSE!!!). I am a single mom with a full time job and I am getting ready to move and to go back to school full time as well and I am still making time. So enough excuses. You want something bad enough, make sacrifices and let your kids know....this is mommy's work out time. Hell, get them involved do!!!

You may not like what you are reading. but guess what, it fits perfect with this weeks "boot camp challenge" because I am telling you straight out, just like a drill instructor would. Get off your *** and move! It's not about how many you do or are able to do, it's about putting in the effort and doing what you can at your level...not saying at all to do marching in place th ewhole time when you are able to jog just because you are being lazy. Push yourself, but not so hard you are going way beyond your limits and hurt yourself! You guys know what I am getting at.
************************************************** ************************************************** *******************

So with all that being said, I think a new start is definately a great idea. And you know what, maybe for the next challenge, we have a good idea of levels and where people are more matched with one another, so maybe a team idea would be great. Team members will hold you more accountable. And where you guys have expressed that you can't keep up with Jen, Amber and I, then maybe we would be one team. Our goals for the week would be a little harder and push farther, but they would be to our levels. Same with yours. And then out of the teams, we would be in competition with one another, based on points. So each week we would keep our team members accountable to meet our goals, and get more points than the other team. It incorporates accountability and competiveness while all the while making it fair to each level of fitness.

For example:

Team 1 weekly challenges consist of 100 crunches/sit ups per day, 100 leg spreaders 5 days of the week, 45 min- an hour of cardio 3 times a week, one fitness class of an hour long (or tape) this week, and arms and leg work outs of your choice 2 times this week.

Team 2 weekly challenge consists of cutting those in half, but same challenges.

Team 3 consists of cutting the original numbers 75% and doing a quarter of the amount.

Each Team will receive 50 points for all members of their team meeting the goals for the entire week, 30 points if they met 75% of the goals as a whole, 20 points for 50% and 15 points for 25% and 10 points for less than that but at least getting up and moving.

Each team has a running total each week for the entire challenge (3 months) and the team with the most points as a whole at the end of the challenge wins a prize for each team member. (Which I think a perfect prize would be that each person of the challenge as a whole puts in say $25.00 and at the end of the challenge the team that wins gets the total amount of money collected from the whole group. The members of the winning team choose what charity gets the money we win!) So we are not only doing good for ourselves but also for other people. :)

What do you think?

Hey K... I am glad you are back.. had no idea what happened to ya... now I do remember you saying your were going to Seaworld. I bet you had fun I love that place. We go every year. My son loves it. So I bet that helped get your mojo back. I totally agree with everything you said and it is absolutely up to each one of us to do the work but we are here to hold each other accountable. The only thing I have to say to add to what you said is about the husband thing.. I do have a husband but I would like to point out that husbands take time so they are not babysitters that come home and watch the kids so we can work out. They also want our time and we do things for them also. My husband helps me alot and is willing to watch the kiddos anytime I want to workout but after he has worked all day I do not always feel it is fair to have him watch the kids while I go workout. I am sure other wives feel the same way. Sometimes having a husband adds a bit more work in some areas. That being said not an excuse just another view. I am heading back to the spinning class this afternoon as bad as it ****s it changes things up and I really like the other woman in the class so I am going to keep going and hoping it gets better. I might go run a mile before also just to get in a bit more cardio.

Anipsed: I am so excited about that program. I should be getting it this week and I am all up for a challange. Do you ahve the nike shoes or did you do it with another brand. I cannot wear nikes comfortabley and I love my new pumas so going to try them with the tips I have read. Do you have any tips for the program. I cannot wait to get it.. I am so excited.

Everyone else lets go lets go lets go... me

Ok, I am confused. I know Nike has shoes that somehow work with your IPod, (I think) but what is this program you guys are talking about?

I agree, husband do add more work to your schedule and I agree with everyone is tired after work. I just meant don't use it for an excuse, husbands can step up too and help you out with your program, whatever it is u choose. And honestly guys, don't be afraid to talk to your kids about what you are doing and get them involved. They are awesome motivators. My son would talk smack about some of the things I was doing and laugh at me (what I was doing at home), until I challenged him to do it with me. He changed his tune then. But you would be surprised how willing they are to help you and make it fun. It can be a joint effort. Remember, things like walking your dog and letting the kids ride their bikes is exercise. It doesn't mean you have to be in the gym.

And remember, I am not trying to be evil. Just stating what I saw trying to catch up on all the reading while I was gone...which was only 3 days guys!!! :D I had a lot to read! lol. So, with that being said, know I love and support you and want the best for you, for all of us.

Oh, and when I was at Sea World I saw something that got me to thinking. I was watching the little kids on the beach hula hooping. Whatever works for your family, can be a lot of fun also. Get the jump ropes out or the hula hoops, play in the garage if it's bad outside or clear out some space in the house to play. Dance around the living room with the kids. Use your imagination, it can be simple and fun too.

:)Well ladies I am still here too. I was tempted to make a mad dash when I saw Motown's workout --LOL, but I am committed to this so I copied the workout into a Word document and I am posting it in my workout area so I can follow it to the letter. This week with me starting phen, coupled with this workout, I am hoping that this will be the week I finally see a BIG loss.

Kaitlyn I am glad to see that you are still with us.

Raquel don't shy away from this challenge-- I'd love for you to join us.

There are still quite a few folks that are M.I.A. and I am hoping they are still with us. I will post my new stats later today.

I hope that none of you are getting discouraged, WE CAN and WILL do this!

Hey Ladies,

Are you guys feeling the burn from the workout. Yes, I can still feel my muscles in my legs waking up from a deep sleep. So this morning, I reverted back to our STANDARD work out, which is sit-ups, exercising, and walking. No lunges for me today, oh no!.
Please Just do Something for at least 20 minutes per day to get that heart pumping. You will definitely feel good about yourself.

Keep me posted,

:DHi ladies....just here doing my daily check-in. My plans for the day--work from 10-7 and then workout from 7-? while American Idol is on....It seems like the time quickly passes when Im watching something Im interested in while on the elliptical. How is everyone keeping up? March is going to be a great month. Just think, we will be baring a little more skin in April, and then before you know it May will be here and vacations start! I dont want to hide underneath a t-shirt and shorts on the beach! I may go to a doc this week to see about getting meds. Ive been scared about taking something while on thyroid meds, but I think the general consensus has been it is OK to do both...so I may get off early on Thursday and go to one of those weight loss clinics. Cant believe Im back to that point, but whatever, you gotta do what you gotta do.

Kaitlyn--the Nike + program that we are talking about works like this....you put a chip in your shoe (or in Gottado's case attached to a shoe) and it syncs to your IPOD. So, as you are working out, it keeps track of distance, time etc. But--then when you get home, you can connect your IPOD to your computer and go to the nike plus website, where it logs your workouts in really cool graphs (which show you your personal bests, etc.). You can set up a challenge for yourself (e.g., I challenge myself to run x miles in 30 days) and it will keep track of this challenge and let you know how you are doing. There are also ways to sync with another, so for example, if Gottado and I want to challenge each other, then we can see each other's logs and it will tell me who went the farther distance (for example) on a given night. Its very cool and if you already have an IPOD then you are only looking at another 30 bucks for the system. You dont have to have Nike's, they sell little clips for the chip so you can clip it to your laces of any brand of shoe.

Alright, where is everyone? Come out and brag about what you have been doing so far this week! :D

My current weight is 223.8lbs. So I did okay overall despite my crappy performance in February. Not quite where I wanted to be, but closer to my goal all the same.

lilninja76
March 4th, 2008, 12:15 PM
That's cool!!! i want that! :) My IPod got stollen when my a/c was getting fixed in my Jeep! So I still have my mom's IPod, but I never wanted to take her songs off of there. I wanted to leave it the way she had it before she died. Now I am getting so tired of the songs I am ready to change them. I think they are embedded in my brain well enough to know what she listened to, plus I made a word document to list all the songs on there. I don't know why I care, but at the time, it was important.

It was funny, I knew where my tired point would come when running and that's where I would have the theme song for Bad Boys start playing. The whole reason behind the challenge was passing the mile and a half run in 14 minutes or less for the police exam. I know I can do it!!! I just have to push myself harder than I have been. I also love playing basketball, so a lot of times, I end up playing basketball after I do some workout stuff and st ay there the rest of my time at the gym. It's a good work out though, and time flys. I love bball. The good/bad part is that it's only a wall of glass seperating the court from the heavy weights where all the guys are. haha. But that's ok, Im good enough it doesn't bother me. I get comments a lot about how well I play. So it's all good! Who knows...maybe one of these days that will lead to a nice new friendship with a really hot fireman!!! haha.

Oh, and just a heads up...I got offered a roommate situation that I don't dare refuse, so I am going to be moving into a house in April. So if there is a dry spell where you don't hear from me much at first, don't worry, I WILL be back. I usually get on at work anyways. But internet should be hooked up out there before I move in. But just in case...just wanted you to know.

Sherry, honey, how are holding up? Any luck finding a new job? That ****s about the old one! That was totally uncalled for and sounds like they just needed to downsize and used that for an excuse. You will be in my prayers for a great new position to come along!

So I hope everyone is having a great day!!! And thanks for not being mad about what I wrote. I tend to piss people off with my honesty sometimes, it depends on my mood. But please know I wasn't saying YOU, I was talkign about myself too.

Hi Ladies,

I’m back from Dallas and I had a wonderful time. I did not always eat healthy but I did workout. I haven’t read ALL the previous postings so I’m just jumping in. I hope everyone is doing well. I love the new name of this challenge and I’m motivated, excited and ready to finish what I started. My personal plan is go back to my basis and do the workouts that I enjoy so I’ll stick to them. However, I will include some of the exercises in the challenge.
I was pretty tired this morning but I did get up at 5:30am and worked out on the treadmill, elliptical, did sit-ups and lifted weights for my entire body. I’m very tired and a little sore but overall I feel really good. I’m home now and there are no excuses. I’m completely back on track today. They weather here is beautiful meaning it is cold but the sun is shining so I’m not complaining. I’m using a Pedometer now and making my self reach at least 10,000 steps a day. After my workout I’m already half way there. I can already tell that this is going to be a good month.

Cheers

Hey everyone glad you are all back and ready to go...
Today I am stuck home until this evening my daughter is really sick and on antibiotics but this afternoon I am heading to the step class and while she is taking a nap I am going to do abs abs and more abs. I measured myself last night I this month I lost 3 inches around my stomach area so that is a big plus. I am excited about that cause I am not seeing the loss in that area. I have not lost as much this past month as I would have hoped but I am ready to kick butt his month. Lets go everyone.

Motown this workout is also kicking my butt after spin last night I was not sure I could finish I def. felt the burn.
Way to go Renee keep pushing yourself and great job on losing the pounds rather it was exactly what you wanted it is still a loss.
Ladesha, great job working out while away that is always a challange for me and even better getting up this AM and heading to the gym you are off to a great start.
Anipsed: I also have a thyroid problem and the phen has not effected me in anyway positve or negative with the phen. I was worried about mixing the two also so I understand you wanting to be sure. Do not get down on yourself you will be where you want in no time just look where you are going to be not where you are right now... you are going to awesome.
Kaitlyn and renee here is the link to the info about the Nike plus program : http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/wa/RSLID?mco=AAFB4189&fnode=home/shop_ipod/ipod_accessories&nplm=MA365LL/B

I hope the link works. It does only work with the Ipod Nano for now maybe some time later they will have one for the other Ipods. I love the idea of this program it is genius... cannot wait to get it and try it out.
Kaitlyn: I totally get not wanting to change the music from your mom.. is there anyway you can save it as a playlist on your computer and then when you want to put the music from your mom back on there you can do it with the click of a mouse. Roomies are fun... keep kicking butt.

Auskucks; Where you at? Hope you are having a great day... lets go March..

Well, well, well - I DID IT !! Not Motown's bootcamp butt kicker challenge, but i exercised 2 DAYS IN A ROW !! WOO HOO !!

I am so glad we started over, I'm excited about the redo, cause man, I totally bombed those first couple of months. But just think - WE DIDN'T GIVE UP !!

Amber / Kaitlyn / Dessie - OK, the running thing sounds cool - just you wont see me running anytime soon, atleast not yet. who knows what might happen later down the road....

Renee - You ain't making a break !! I'm so excited you got your Phen, i cant wait to hear what your first couple of weeks results are !!

Holly - Great goal for 2 lbs a week that is very doable !! My goal is to lose atleast 6 lbs by the end of March - we'll see...

Sh3a - Keep that momentum girl, and don't get down on yourself. We ARE gonna do this !

Jennifer - a 1/2 pound up isn't bad at all. Shoot, I'm a 1/2 pound under what I originally started with in January ! Man, that ****s, but I'm gonna just try my best and not look back. I even changed all my ticker things !

Marie, Dona, Mitsy, Sherry, Blevy - WHERE ARE YA'LL ??? COME BACK !!!

Hmmm... Motown - Any ideas on who you're picking for next week's challenge ??

Hi all--well, didnt work out today. I was exhausted by the time I got home tonight and all I wanted to do was sit on the couch and eat chips  Some times I disgust myself.

I just took a quiz about the best time for me to work out and it turns out that mornings are probably better for me, considering I wake up early and feel my best first thing in the morning. I usually wait to the evening and end up coming up with some type of excuse! Not tomorrow. I will get up and try the morning workout. I bet Ill feel hella better about myself all day too! :D It may be tiring in the beginning, but Im sure the extra energy will help!

Carmen--I just walk using the nike + system...I like how it tracks my distance and times..Im not much of a jogger YET, but eventually would like to work up to that.

Let me know if any of you start the nike + system and I will find you guys on there!

See you tomorrow

I would just like to add that I love San Antonio and the boardwalk it is so nice to visit there. We have gone every year for the past 4 years and we love it. This year we are heading to Orlando and going to check that seaworld out. Still might make it to San Antonio also.... we love thos marine animals.
Well I just got home from my step and toning class and tonight it pushed me .. we only did step for about 30 mins and the other thirty minutes we went outside and had the bungy cords and had to pull our partner while running and they where pulling against you... and boy that is a workout one of the hardest I have had in a long time. First time I have felt that level of exhaustion in a long time. It was great though. I did not quit, did not even think about it and just for those that are competitve like me a little tidbit .. I KICKED BUTT.. I smoke the rest of the class... it was pretty awesome. I have a love hate relationship with those things...
The other thing I have been doing that is a bit of a cardio workout for you video game junkies out there we got Dance Revolution Super Nova 2 and have been doing that it is a cardio workout.. it is not running or anything but it def gets your heart rate up.. liking that to add a bit more of exercise without knowing it.
Guys we are doing it.. think about it you have started a new routine.. if you can keep it up for 14 days it becomes habit so two down 12 more to go... we are rocking this challange and going to end it with a great big BANG!!! I am so proud of each and every one of you... keep up the great work...

Have you guy's been working your Hiney? Well Its never too late, its only Wednesday you can make a difference by doing something to get the heart pumping. As for me, I'm a little tender today from the work outs, I'm going to see what can I do to achieve something today.

Anipsed - That Nike + System sounds pretty nice. I would have to work that in my budget.

Marie - Glad your back, you've been doing so well, you deserve a break.

Good morning,
Good job everyone for working out and REALLY trying to make this FRESH START COUNT!!!!! I really needed this.

So I went to my step class and we also lifted weights and did abs.
Also TOM came yesterday so I really have to STAY FOCUSED. I brought some chocolate protein pudding to help with my cravings.
Besides the cramps I’m hanging in there. I going for a 15 minute run around noon and then maybe a quick run after work…gotta reach my 10,000 steps.
Menu for today – this is really for my benefit. I just really need to write this down especially the next few days.
GoLean oatmeal
Peach protein shake
1c Chicken and wild rice soup
100 calorie granola snack bar
Protein pudding
Lean and green meal for dinner

I’m trying to follow my version of Medifast and it’s a lot cheaper LOL.

Have a good day.
Note to self: Keep my eyes on the prize of reaching 175!!

O.K. so I see how EASY it is to post your menu. You know how have too many kids to think reasonably. I thought we would have to put in in our signature line--LOL. Anyway, I am glad to see that you are keeping at it. This month I started taking Seasonique birth control. I heard from a few ladies that they don't get cravings the months that they don't get their period. I am waiting to see if this works for me.

Today is a good day for me... It started off really tired and drained but it has turned out to be great... I signed my daughter up for a Moms Day Out program so she will only go once a week for now and maybe later she can go twice a week. This is a big step for me, I never left my son til he was 4. I am excited for her she is sooo socialable and this will be great for her. It will also give me a great chance to go on those longer runs without pushing a running stroller... really excited about that. I also signed up for some volunteer programs for youth in our area so that will be good to do also.
I have been running around all morning stopped by the mall to look around for my son a Hawaii themed shirt for school tomorrow and well husband is with me and says lets look at Zales and we go over and he has gotten me a new ring ordered it and everything. I had been wanting something not so flashy because I do not like wearing the bigger diamond at the gym and he got me the nicest ring I LOVE IT. It was pretty cheap but I like it tons better than the other one that cost way to much $$$. So yah to my husband for getting the hint and doing something about it...lol
Tonight I am going to spin again and tomorrow I should get my Nike program and I will be going on a long long run.
Today I have drank tons of water and I had sushi for lunch.. I love it. I could live off that stuff. My husband thinks I am weird though cause I am not a big fan of fish I will eat it but not at all my favorite so he is perplexed about how I like sushi... the only answer I can give is I am weird...!!!
Guys this weekend we are going away again.... so i have to stay on track and keep at this. I need to lose some weigh this week or my little NEMO fish(look below) will be tailess... he looks so scared. Gotta get on this. Well I am off to tan and then to the gym later.. you guys are doing great.

Hi All,

I hope everyone is hanging in there. I’m having a hard time but I’m still hanging. I can’t wait for TOM to end but I’m glad it’s happening now early in the new month.

Marie – Nice picture-love the top.

Renee– Once again you have me cracking up. I was thinking.. put it in my signature is she kidding . I figured eventually you would come around like you always do LOL ;). Also, please tell me how you like Seasonique just curious.

Tracey – I absolutely love this shake and it very simple.
1 scoopVanilla Whey protein
frozen peach slice - put a few slices together until it makes a whole peach
1c water
1 packet of Splenda optional – I like it without

Mix water, splenda and protein blend add half the peach slice blend add the other half blend. It’s a really nice frothy smooth consistency. I’m telling you very very good and simple.
I buy the big container of protein whey powder from Walmart. It’s like 13 bucks (VERY GOOD PRICE) and they have chocolate too. I buy the frozen slice peach just a generic brand.

Ladesha: Just keep pushing until TOM has disappeared he will be gone before you know it. You are doing it and just keep it up. Take a breath of fresh air...:)

Anipsed: Did you work out this morning? I hope so if not .. no excuses tonight you have to do and throw all the chips away in your house...lol

Keep up the great work everyone... we are doing it... go us.. all the other challanges our going to be jealous of how great we are doing. So on a motivation note last night at the gym the trainer gave us a speech some of the girls where not giving alot of effort and she said... I am only a tool to help you get healthy I can tell you what to do and how to do it but if you are not putting in the effort you are not going to get the results... so look around you; you see the girls that are kicking there butts today and every other class when they are getting amazing results you cannot be jealous because you have to put the effort in.. your health is up to you.. I was amazed and totally inspired.. that is totally right... so that is your thought for the day.... go and kick butt...:)

Hey girls! Looking at the new pictures, Marie and Carmen, you guy's are looking great! Insearchpfme I love the kids, they are so cute, makes you want to just give them a big hug.

Ok, sorry I have not been here, as you all know we had a grand baby last Thursday, and the two day's later I got sick. I have had this awful score throat. I went to see the doctor, and she said.....I have to have my tonsils out!:( She then went on to tell me how painful this is going to be, the pain is going to be so bad I wont want to eat or drink for two weeks, OMG! but I have to drink so I don't get dehyrated. But I wll get really good pain pills! Lucky me, this is going to happen April 30th, so I have time to keep going.

When I saw the workout for this week I about died! Sorry I have not felt like exercising. Are we going to keep this pace for now? Maybe when I feel better.

Carmen, I need your address so I can send you money, or is it on the envelope?

As for last week, I did not gain or lose, AGAIN! ****s,
I drank: 5 gallons of water
For exercise: I can't remember, so maybe I did not do any?

Happy Friday everybody !! Just so yall know, I did NOT exercise yesterday. I was bad I ate a Reeses cup and a handful of bbq fritos - UMM UMM UMM. But today is going to be better. My sorry as* father in law was not happy with my MIL's will so he is contesting it - he is actually trying to take my husbands Grandparents property from my hubby and his brother ! Plus all the antique furniture, he and one of his sons had already taken quite a few pieces out before her death, luckily she was aware of what happened and made notes. What pisses me off is they ( hub & BIL ) did not listen to me, I told them that they needed to take pictures of the furniture that was in the house and they didn't, SO now there is no proof of what was there if anything else has gone missing.
What pisses me more is that they knew what kind of man we were dealing with, he was cheating w/ my MIL while his wife was on her deathbed dying of cancer !! And it gets better - he has a son, who his children did not know about. So what better place to introduce them then at my MIL's funeral ! That was a hoot. He said " Earl, Ricky & i forgot his other sons name - this is your brother "??" , umm - from Mississippi that yall never knew about ". WTH ?? Yeah, my outlaws were very classy. That's why even though we only live like 3 miles apart, we saw them only at Christmas & Thanksgiving. I did not want my son to be around them.
Anyhoo - back to the will. My BIL that lives in Orlando is the executor, and he did not follow up w/ the lawyer - AT ALL. The lawyer had no clue about the belongings and I questioned him about what made Ed think he was entitled to the grandparents propert. He said that because she was married to him, and they lived together in that house for the last 3-4 yrs, that he does have right to it. So I told the lawyer about some of the things that they aquired together while be married, such as the big dually truck, the Rv and their other vehicle - that since they were married, shouldn't those items be sold and the guys have right to a 1/3 of that as well ?? As I said he had no idea about these things, and said that they were.
Ya know, its not that I am a greedy person, but if that fu**er wants to play hard ball - its on. My hubby and BIL do have it in them, but I have enough fiest in me and I do not want them to be screwed over. After all - wouldn't their grandparents property, antiques and such make a nice little nest egg for HIS family when he dies ?? Get my point ?! Anyhow, me and the lawyer became fast friends since Wednesday and I should have the judges ruling by this afternoon. I enllightened my husband a little over the last couple of days, we have a pretty sizable amount of life insurance on us, and if something ever happened to me, I told him to make damn sure he has a prenup drawn up, and I will do the same to make sure my child doesnt ever get screwed over. People are just plain CRAZY !! OK, I"ll get off my rant now. Just remember PRENUP, PRENUP, PRENUP. Make sure to cover all your bases if kids are involved, because you just never know what might happen to you or your spouse. AMEN.

I'll check in on you guys later - have a great day !!

Carmen that totally stinks about the whole ordeal. Good for you for sticking up for your husband and BIL. They do deserve those things. How rude of your FIL for doing all those things... half brother and all... Really what was the point of all that. I am so sorry you are having to deal with all this just keep your head on straight and I hope you get the decision you deserve today.. You rock... restart today yesterday is over... Keep taking it one day at a time... :)

Hey ladies. It sounds like everyone is doing great, even with the challenges in life we all face. Dona, I am sure it won't be as bad as the doctor says. I'm sure it will be sore for a little bit, but I can't imagine for two weeks. Now if you were getting wisdom teeth pulled, yeah, I can see that!!! haha. But after my c-section with my son, I was up and going the next week. I hope you feel better soon.

I don't know what is up with today. My body aches all over and I feel like my head is going to explode! Could it be because last weekend I was driving with the top down, walking around SeaWorld getting a sun burn and this week I have been freezing my tooshie off with snow and ice. I don't understand how the kids are playing in the pool on Saturday and by Monday it's snowing. Gotta Love TEXAS!!!

I finally achieved something yesterday I have been working on for a while. I love basketball and I spent about an hour and a half after the elliptical yesterday playing. I like when the people can walk and bounce the ball between their legs back and forth. I am 5' tall and it's pretty hard to do. I finally got to the point yesterday where I could make it all the way across the court without messing up a few times. But I have to take a step and stop then take a step and stop...well it's more like a pause now. I'm not fluid in it yet, but my hiney is killing me today. You kinda do a lunge almost (same movement, not as big though) when doing it. But wow!!!

Anyhow, work is stressing me out a lot, so I'm sorry I haven't said much lately. We left work early yesterday due to the weather and I was asleep by about 6pm last night. I didn't want to get up today either. But since my son had school and the roads didn't look bad, I came into work to find that no one else is here or had even been here. Everyone is gone for the day, which makes me mad. It's not that bad out. But since I am here, maybe I can get some stuff caught up with the place being quiet. :)

I hope you all have a great day and wonderful weekend. My friend and I are going to be talking some more this weekend about making plans and setting up the house for both of our things. He's already there, but we both have enough furniture to fill a house, so combining it is going to be interesting! But I also talked to my school and I am so looking forward to starting school again, working on finishing my degree. I have 6 classes left to get my associates and the rest is all cj courses to finish out my degree. That opens up Arlington Police Department once my degree is finished, which they make quite a bit more money!!! So that's really cool.

Peachy, now one of my bosses just called (which really pisses me off). He was saying how I get to be the lone ranger today but not for long because he's coming up here. Great!!! That means the entire reason I am here, trying to get caught up while it's quiet, isn't going to happen and he's just gonna piss me off. Out of the entire company, how is fair that I am the only one working today??? IT"S NOT!!!! Ok, enough hissy fit. But still. It just makes me mad. Somedays, I get so freakin tired of being the responsible person!!!

Kaitlyn: Glad you gave us an update I was beginning to wonder about you. Basketball is a great workout and I love doing it. Basketball is by far my favorite sport to play. I LOOOOOOOVE it. We are suppose to go play tomorrow with some friends and I cannot wait. It will be the first time since losing the weight and working out I have played with them. Last time I played with this group of people I was sooooo disappointed in myself because I could not keep up and by the time we were done I could barely throw the ball let alone shoot it. SO this is going to be fuuuun. I am excited. I am sure the reason you are not feeling 100% is because this crazy weather.. I am in Louisiana and it is the same way... just two days ago it was so warm and nice outside and today it is yucky and cold...

Everyone else have a great Friday.. I am ...

lilninja76
March 7th, 2008, 05:05 PM
Me too, it's definately my favorite sport and I am good at it. I practice all the time shooting with my left hand. Most days I am proud of myself but sometimes disappointed that I am not as good with my left as I am with my right (I'm right handed), but either way, I know I can still win a game of horse even if everyone played right handed and I played left. (Not cocky, confident! haha)

Sorry that I haven't been more vocal. When I am vocal here with people, it's usually not very nice lately. I've been in this very mean funk and it's not that I want to hurt someone's feelings, I am just fed up with stuff and tell it the way it is. And these guys I work with are getting on my nerves to a point, I don't care anymore. Like yesterday, one guy was mad and complained because I told him to wait to fill out his time sheet. I had new ones printed but hadn't gotten them off the copier. Give me a sec and I will grab them. So I grab them and he throws a fit because he's already filled one out that was left over from last week and I said that it needed to have the correct dates on it. He asked if I can't just mark out the wrong dates and write the correct ones in. NO!!!! The correct time sheets are in my hand. So he starts thorwing this fit over it and I grab his out of his hand and tell him to forget it, I will rewrite his hours myself. Then he got mad because I was mad. Sometimes I hate these boys. Not really, the just really piss me off!!! I dont need a husband or a boyfriend, they irritate me enough as it is. And today thinking about it, it's just more reason for me to push myself harder at the gym and ace that damn tryout for the pd. I think what makes me the most mad about today, is that both my bosses knew that I would show up today, because that's the kind of person I am and that I would be here by myself all day. Out of our company, which is small, about 12 people all together, I'm the only one doing the work all day. One boss is partially working today, but also doing some of his private stuff too. It just makes me mad. I'm tired of all the responsibility.

Actually I think that hits it right there. I am so tired lately of all the responsibility I have. Mind you I love my son very much, so this is in no way meant to be rude towards him, I am just venting. But damn, I'm a pretty good person I believe. I take in the strays and always try to find them a good home, I make sure everyone around me is taken care of. I am the one responsible for all office stuff with my company, which is a lot!!! I should really have another person in here, but I can't. Someone once told me when I was griping about having 4 keychains and I was digging trying to find the key I needed, he said that with a lot of keys comes a lot of responsiblity and that I should be proud that someone trusts me enough with that much responsibility. For a long time I took that to heart. Now, I'm just tired of it. I get up at 4am, I took in the prego stray cat because it was cold outside and she has a nice, safe and warm place to have her babies. I am now raising not only my 3 cats, but her and her 4 babies. So they all get taken care of when I wake up in the morning, then rushing off to meet my gym partner, feeling responsible to please her, then home, making sure my son is ready and out the door, getting him to school then getting ready for work, also throwing a dog in there to make sure is taken care of and fish, then I get to work and bust my *** trying to please everyone all day long, knowing damn well that I can't please everyone...but I try! Then it's time to go get Cole who wants nothing more from me than to play football on the XBox and I don't have any give left in me by that time. I just want to sit down and relax, but I can't. I walk in the door to 8 cats meowing and wanting taken care of, a dog who needs things, fish who need fed (which are by far so totally easy!!!) and my son who needs dinner. Then when it's finally time that I actually get to sit my *** down and owe nothing to anyone...Cole starts in again about the XBox and usually my phone rings. It's usually my other boss who doesn't come into the office until after hours to do his paperwork so he has questions. Well in my opinion it's 7pm and I am off the freakin clock. So then I have to get into it about work and take care of that, my son wants to watch cartoons and heaven forbid on twice a week when I want to watch something other than cartoons. I put him in bed around 9 and I am so tired...mentally and emotionally that I don't have it in me to stay up and have time to myself. I'm exhausted!!!! And it's mainly about doing things for other people. I feel like I give and give and give and no one seems to give back in return. I know that most women feel this way. We are the constant givers and always making sure everyone is taken care of but us.

Ladies, I know money is tight, especially now that I am moving and wanting to go back to school, it will be tight for me the next two or three months, but please, do something special for yourself this weekend. I don't know what, but spend at least 30 minutes not owing anyone a single thing, but treating yourself. I haven't even been tanning since the first night. It's paid for, but I haven't gone. I ned to go tonight and just relax, even if it's only 10 minutes!

I hope you all enjoy your weekend. Sorry and thank you for letting me vent.

Hey Kaitlyn-
I am sending you a great big cyberhug. Sounds like you are on the verge of a meltdown and need some serious "ME" time. I wish that we lived closer we could meet for pedicures or just hang out.

Trust me if anyone knows how you feel it me. Just hang in there. You are doing really well sticking to your eating and workout regimine. Do you have any relatives nearby that Cole could spend a few hours with tomorrow. My sister has volunteered to take ALL the kids next weekend and I am counting down the hours.

For now, take your own advice and just breathe.... this too shall pass. :)

Hey guys, hope everyone has had a great weekend. I woke up the morning feeling energized - don't know if its because of the time change, or just a mental thing. Anywho - the weather is gorgeous, but kinda cool. Think later this afternoon I'll go to the park for a nice walk, and actually do a couple of workouts this evening...

Dona- Congrats on that new grandbaby ! And hope you get feeling better soon. You dont have to feel pressured to do the challenge that was posted, you can revert back to our original challenge of walking, a couple hours of exercise and drinking your water. Just go at your own pace, and try to incorporate some of the exercises posted into your activity. DO NOT SEND ME ANY MONEY !! That was just a little something I wanted to do for my girls.

Sherry - I'll get your dvd's out tomorrow. How do you like Turbo Jam? I have that also, but haven't ever tried it yet. That could be something we could do for the 3rd phase of this challenge. Just an idea. Waht do yall think ??

Sh3a - Take it easy on me girl - REMEMBER, I'm an old woman !!

OK guys, I'll check back in later. Have a great one !!

Hi Everyone,

Sorry I've been so busy and will continue to be busy for a while. I want to start a small busy so I'm doing a lot reading. On top of that my house is about to sell so I’ve been looking for a place to live. So please forgive me if I missing' in action but I'm doing well as far as diet and exercise. I haven't step on the scale and since I've been doing well I not going to worry about the scale until I really feel the need to step on it. Day light saving is a good thing for me because I more motivation to exercise in the even as well since it still light outside.
So here's my challenge: Do what ever exercise you enjoy. But try to exercise at least 4 days this week. Also if possible do an additional walk/jog a mile at least 4 times this week. If you can’t jog a mile try to walk/jog interval. Also, try to build up to a gallon of h2o in one day.

Have a great week everyone.

Cheers

Hello Ladies,
Well I did pretty well this weekend away. I actually went for a run Saturday right about 3 miles and I played badmitton and volleyball for about 3 hours yesterday. It was nice. I am actually sore from the volleyball. I did not get to play basketball this weekend. Everyone had to much going on to get a game together but we did get to hang out a bit.
I jumped on the scale this AM and to my suprise I lost the 2lbs I gained and two more lbs... so that is exciting. Finally glad to see the scale moving down... This week is going to be a bit different for me because I am limited on what I can do because it is test week at my sons school so he needs to be home early to be sure he is getting enough rest. I am not going to the classes at the gym this week except on Wed and Thurs because my husband is off. I will be doing alot of running with my new nike + training system.
I hope everyone is having a great Monday.

Let me just get this over with...results for the week.

0 lbs lost. So much for my fresh start...I started the week off doing wonderfully...that is before I had a small painful "backside issue" that put me somewhat out of commission as far as excercise was concerned until Saturday. That was not fun....at all!
It's a new week and time to get back on track. I love that there is more daylight now, hopefully it will give me more of a desire to work out in the evenings.

Hey there ladybugs! I had a fabulous weekend!!! (not so much for the weight loss. We had a huge dinner last night of steak and shrimp with salad and baked potatos and strawberry short cake for desert! I did not dare step on the scale this morning!) haha. I did get to 172 last week, I don't think I ever posted that. I don't know if I am coming or going lately and it's only going to get worst over the next month...but in a great way. I think with all I have going and the stress, I am going to wait until June to start classes again. I'm already on overload. Thanks for your warm wishes, they are very encouraging.

Normally I leave around 8:30 or 9am to run the errands and do my stuff on Saturday and I don't get home until around 7pm. So it's like another work day for me. This Saturday I stopped around noon and went home to veg out on the couch and watch tv. I made a nice dinner (for a change) and went to bed around 9. That felt really really good! Then Sunday a friend came over, we ate too many chips and salsa at Chilis for lunch then my son and I went to hang out with my friend Stephen who is the one we are moving in with in April. I got to meet a few of the neighbors. The kids were out riding their bikes and enjoying the day, the neighbors were out with their kids or walking their dogs. The lady across the street is a teacher at another school but was telling me that my son's new school is great! And she was also telling me how social the neighborhood is, there are always people hanging out in the garages and kids playing together! That's such a wonderful picture that I am so excited to move. Now, he has only 2 boys close to his age at our apartments and I won't dare let him play with them. I've never seen their parents and they are out running around until like 11pm. They are his age (10) or super close to it. WTF??? I don't understand people with their kids. I'm not always the best mom, but damn....I'm nothing like that. So we are both totally excited about the move and so is my friend Stephen. My dog and his dog spent the last year together and they are so excited ot be back together also. So it takes a huge load off to not worry about being the constant entertainment for the dog and my kid. They have friends to play with. And I have an adult whom I love to talk to, so that takes away that lonliness burdon. I love it, I get the male companionship without having to be in a relationship. I love to cook, but don't do it alot since he moved away from our apartments (in December, he was my downstairs neighbor). We both used to cook a lot and share with each other. So it's great to cook again, and I have a HUGE kitchen to do so. He loves to cook too, so we share our hobby. We also used to take the dogs for a walk, so I am looking forward to having that again too. Life is about to change in such a wonderful way. We even agree on turning the garage into a game room! We both love the outdoors so we are keeping a big screen and seating in the garage so we can have the garage door open. It's great for watching the hockey game! (We better get stocking the beer fridge now!)

I tell you, after last night, I have a renewed outlook on life and the future. I'm really tired of bustin my *** at the gym to not see the results I want, but can't complain when I had a Sunday where we ate like that. But it doesn't happen often, so I needed a day of absolute relaxation and fun. It helped a lot. We stay up late together though, so trying to be at the gym this morning at 5am...well, it just didn't happen! haha. But I will try and make that up tonight. If nothing else at least do my pilates tape tonight! I actually see results when I do that and rather quickly also. We want to get some work out equipment as well for the house. Stephen is very active...like me, but he has more energy than I do, so he keeps me moving. It will be great to have someone in house supporting me through it.

I really miss his face lighting up when he would ask his friends my age (when we first met). I weighed 145 and a size 10. I was very confident and all my friends say how hot I was. I miss that! But all his friends, around his age of 21, would say about 23 or 24. Then when he would say 31, they all couldn't believe it. He would make all kinds of comments on how good I looked for my age. I miss that. I want that back. I want to make his eyes sparkle like they used to when he talks about me. I think they still do, just not about how youthful I look. I want to keep up with those spring chickens again! Just with more sense then them. haha. Value wise, Stephen is better than I am, so he's not your typical 21 year old. But active wise, he is and I don't want to be left behind...unless he's going to a concert...we so disagree in music. lol.

I came on this board this morning with no vigor and no excitement towards working out, but after reading the posts from you guys, it really lifted my spirits. I don't do well with topsy turvey stress in both aspects of my life at the same time, work and personal. When they both get out of place, I'm a mess. I would have given up on being pretty again a long time ago if it weren't for having you guys. I really appreciate you!!! More than you can know! So thank you for keeping me coming back, and for renewing my own since of self esteem when I am at a loss for finding it. :D

I love you girls! I hope you each have a great day and week ahead.

Renee, thanks....it feels really good to be missed by someone!
Sherry, thanks....I try to be a great mom to my son. He has more than most kids and is a REALLY, REALLY good kid! I'm so blessed to have him. (Ok, enough before I cry!) :)

Kaitlyn: I love your new outlook keep it up. It sounds like you have a lot of change coming up but like you said it is good change so it might be better to hold off on the classes until life settles down for you. School takes up a lot of time and effort that you might not be able to give without giving up something else. It sounds like your new roommate is exactly what the Dr ordered. Keep the moving forward that is what it is all about...

Carmen: You are right just do not give up. Do what you can do and that is all we can ask for. We know you have alot going on so just keep moving forward.

Sherry: How did the job hunting go? I hope you found what you were looking for or at least some positive prospects.

gotta - Grrrrrr.. ok I went to town and I am not very good with the area.. the people gave me the website for me to got to and their address was on there they asked me to come by because they believed with my resume they could get me in something really quick.. ( it is kinda like an employement place for medical stuff.. so I went to look for it.. and could not find it.. even asked the post office lady and she said she had seen it but thought they moved.. so I circled for about 20 minutes.. couldnt find it... Forrest Generla hospital and a major medical clinis was right there so I placed two apps and dropped my resumes came home called them.. they moved!!! Accross the street fromt he location they were... the reason I couldnt see them was because they were behind a resturaunt.. I was so mad... so I am going again tomorrow.. fingers and toes are crossed! I am about to go crazy being at home all the time! It has been only a week but I was home sick a week before that with the flu so it is kinda like two.. two too many for me lol.. I appreciate everyone keeping me in your toughts so much! My son is really into this online game, so it was cool actually spending time with him.

Renee & Marie - I'm glad yall got your DVD's, I think we should work them in to next weeks challenge - what do yall think about that? ( If everybody has gotten them by Saturday )

I am doing pretty good this week. My eating could be better but I am putting some miles in running. Monday and Tuesday night I ran a 5k and tonight I ran 4miles on the lakefront. It was so nice to complete the four miles. I have not done that in a very long time. As far as any other exercise .. I have done a bit of abs every now and again but not enough to really claim.
Those DVD's are awesome and the workouts are really good. My husband and I did them together for awhile so it would be nice to use them again on a regular basis. Carmen still thanking your for those things..:)
Hope everyone is doing good and I will try and make the chat tomorrow night I have been having trouble getting into the chatroom. Everyone keep rocking this week..

Sounds good to me. I still haven't started mine so next week would be awesome. Turbo Jam sounds fun too but I don't have it. As far as exercising all I have done this week is walk 3 miles daily. I guess thats better than nothing. I definitly have to get back on my water, I have been drinking water but not as much as I need too.

My husband left Tuesday morning going to S. Carolina to work for 3 weeks so I'm trying to get into the habit of just me and the 3 kids for awhile. Plus they have Stanford testing this week at school. But considering it has went well so far! I also went to the doctor yesterday because I have a really bad fever blister/oral herpies on my chin and it is painful. It makes my whole throat hurt and it's swollen a little, she gave me some pills and ointment for it however the ointment was $140.00, so I didn't get it. I'll just keep putting the $11.00 Abreva on it and pray it helps. It was alot cheaper:) The good news....the doctor went ahead and gave me a refill on my Phentermine(YAY). She said only 3 months but she gave me another month, maybe I can get to my goal weight!

Hope everyone is having a great week, the weekends almost here:) Keep up the good work you guys!!!

Morning everyone! Today is such an awesome day! We have been kicking butt in the morning with Cardio on the elliptical, keeping right under 7.0 average on the hills and doing 45 minutes - 60 minutes at a time. Then we go work out after that. Today I bumped the resistance from my normal 3 in intervals up to 12. It felt really good!!!! However, I only got 3 1/2 hours of sleep last night, so I was doing good just to be at the gym this morning. But we rocked it and then I got about 30 minutes of bball time in. :) That always makes me smile. And it's going to be 80 today and 90 tomorrow, so don't you know my baby girl is out of the garage and we were zippin through traffic this morning. Ahhh, I love my bike! I honestly don't know if I will make the chat tonight or not. As much as I would love to, by that time, my behind is probably going to be passed out. I was ready to sleep at 7pm last night but that didn't happen. So I know tonight I will end up crashing out later on. But if I don't see you, everyone is doing great! Keep up the good work! You are still here and that's half the battle, not giving up!

Carmen, I got the package from you the other day, I have yet to open it though. We just haven't been home much at all. I will open it when I get home tonight and check it out. Thank you in advance!!!

Ok ladies...I think we should set a challenge up....like a big challenge. I know my workout buddy and I are talking about signing up for a 5k and training for it. So maybe we can do a "big challenge" that each person sets for themselves to be completed by a certain date. Yes we all want to loose weight, but maybe having this goal to do by xxxx will push us each to give more and try harder for whatever it is we are going for. :) Just a thought.

I think setting up individual challanges is a great idea... like on the nike plus website you sign up for a to challange yourself

We could each complete this phrase..

If I do not __________________________________________________ ______ by the end of the second phase of the challange I will______________________________________________ ______.

We can keep each other accoutable and make sure they do what they say at the end of they do not make it. Just a thought.... Everyone keep up the great work.

Marie: get your water and I am sorry about the stuff going with you face, it sounds very painful. Take care of yourself and drink the water.

Ninja: Enjoy riding your bike and get some sleep tonight. great job kicking it up a notch this AM. When are you trying to run a 5K? That is a great way to hold youself accoutable, if you pick the race and start training for and sign up for the race so you cannot back out... you will do awesome I am sure.

Hey girls! Wow, I have missed a lot. Thank you, Carmen, Renee, and gottadothis for you kind thoughts while I was sick.

Carmen I did get the dvd's on Tuesday, and yesterday I looked thru them, did a little warm up and a little dance. I sure am feeling it today! THANK YOU for sending them. I like the thought of using them in our challenge. I am still thinking of getting the Carmen Electra strippers dvd. Learn some naughty moves and exercise at the same time.:D

My results for last week were the same as the week before. NO weight lost, or gained, I did not exercise. This week yesterday was the first day of doing anything, but I have lost some more weight, finally, but I wont say what until nest Monday, hoefully it is not the scales teasing me.

I am doing good in exercise just not great with food. Not eating to much just not making the best choices. Planning to jump right back on the good food train tomorrow... I am the only one that can control what goes into my mouth so I have to do it... and now quit saying Iam going to ....lol

Hey Ladies,

I'm sorry. I sold my house and I've been looking for a place to live. I have to move in a few weeks.

Carmen- Thanks for the dvds. I actually tried them out and got a good workout. Suprisingly I'm doing well but I'm been so busy.

So I'll check in when I can but my first priorty is trying to find a place.

Enjoy your weekend and keep smiling :D

I really like the quote also... it is totally how I am feeling these days. I have all the tools to make the changes and use the gifts I have been given just not sure I am taking advantage of them all. I have been doing amazing in the exercise ladies but cannot get this food thing under control. Just wanting to eat eat eat. I am not taking the phen have not for over a month now but man TOM is lurking somewhere so that could be playing a small part. But I never eat this much... might start the phen back tomorrow... just to kick this food thing that is going on...

I hope you guys are doing better than me this week. Good luck Sh3a finding a house, in such a short time.
Motown have a great weekend also. How are you doing now. I know you said you were struggling for a while making the changes you wanted to make... I hope you are doing much better in that area...

Everyone else get moving and enjoy the weekend and if the weather is anything like the weather is here get outside and enjoy it... today it was in the low 80s. Beautiful day..

Hey Ya'll !! YAY !! My internet is running again !!

OK, it looks like everyone has gotten their DVD's, SO for this week let's use them.
Here's the deal...

BIGGEST LOSER 1
6 Week Workout

Week 1 - alternate workouts 1 & 3
Week 2 - alternate workouts 2 & 4
Week 3 - alternate workouts 1 & 3
Week 4 - alternate workouts 2 & 4
Week 5 - alternate workouts 1 & 3
Week 6 - alternate workouts 2 & 4

Each workout lasts approximately 30 minutes, and
It’s recommended that you do these workouts for 6 days a week.

Also, if you feel up to it throw in some of the cardio blast workouts, I like those - they only last like 10 minutes.
I made a chart on the Yahoo board in the database so we can keep up with how many times we do the videos, so post your totals at the end of the week, along with any weightloss. Also check out the database "March - Fresh Start", and if there are any discrepancies in your weight make the change.

Sorry I missed the chat the other night, it seems some of us are having problems with logging on to the website chat room here, so I will PM everyone with everyone's Yahoo Id's and we can try it that way.

Anyone who wants to add to this weeks challenge feel free...

Are we still submitted our weight on Monday's. I haven't lost much, just wanted to know the protocol.

I hope everyone is doing well.

Morning ladies. I hope everyone had a great weekend. I spent several hours cleaning my new house up. Why, I don't know, the boys are just going to mess it up again!!! Once the old roommate moves out, I know Stephen will do better about keeping it clean. But damn, he is the only working and paying the bills, the other should step up and be the "housewife". You would think with me starting to move my things in, he would start moving his stuff out. Nope! So I told S. last night to have him out by the first. It doesn't make any sense for me to try to move in when there isn't any room. But I tell you, I am so ready to move...like tomorrow!!! I'm so tired of the freakin traffic and everyone's attitudes. I swear one of these days the wrong person is going to piss me off and I am going to ram my Jeep right up their @$$. haha. Not really, but every part of me wants to! Some idiots out there deserve it. But anywho. I'm freakin exhausted. My part time weekend job (babysitting a 3 year old boy) is back. I watch him from about 7pm on Friday night to around 4 or 5 on Sunday afternoon. He's been out of town visiting his grandma. His mom wanted to work Sunday night too, so he didn't leave until 7am this morning. I'm just exhausted to say the least. Then I also have to go to court tonight to fight this dumb *** battle with the city of Fort Worth. I adopted an 8 week old puppy from the shelter last year. She died less than two weeks later. I had signed an agreement that I would have her spayed within six months of adopting her. Well, now I have to go to court to keep from getting a warrant out because I didn't spay the dog. Hello!!!! She's freakin dead! That's what I get for procrastinating, I know. But still, not the way I want to spend my evening! But anywho, I hope all is well with everyone. I didn't even get on the scale this morning. I will tomorrow morning. I keep maintaining that 172 mark. So I need to jumpstart something and get off of that. I want to be back down in the 160's somewhere. This not moving in weight but busting my hiney at the gym is starting to grate on my nerves. I'm sure the stress of moving and money and saving money for school doesn't help. I'm really glad I held off and am waiting till June to start back up. I don't think I could take the added stress. Have a great day everyone!!!

OK - this is a new week... I am gonna bust my a*s to make sure that I lose something this week. I can tell ya'll I have the hardest time staying focused and staying commited. It's kinda like one step forward, 2 steps back with me.

Tonight will be my first time doing the BL workout in a LONG time. I forgot to weigh myself this morning, so I will first thing tomorrow, and then I'm not gonna weigh again until the 31st. Hoping maybe that I can and will stick with it to accomplish my mini goal for this month of losing 6 pounds.... HMMM - we'll see, still have 14 days remaining to give it my all before submitting my measurements and weight for the next phase of the challenge !

I'm ready - are ya'll ??? ;)

I am here just trying to stay really busy so I will not think about eating everything in the house. I planned on starting back the phen today but forgot to take it,... what is that . SO I will take it tomorrow. Today I did eat ALOT better and exercised. I am pretty tired tonight I did not sleep well last night at all. So cannot wait to hit the bed tonight. Tomorrow I am back on track all the way.

Kaitlyn... the new place will work out the old roomate will eventually get the hint I am sure. How are you liking this nice weather. If I remember right your are in my next door state and having the same weather as us. I am loving this weather.

Everyone else what is going ong?
I did not do the BL tonight but will do tomorrow I actually forgot about it. So as long as everything goes as planned I will be doing BL and going to step class... oh yeah eating well also.

Have a great week everyone...

Morning ladies. I was very motivated after not having any sleep Sunday night and trying to make up for Monday. I worked up a sweat and kept it going this morning, I didn't go as long as I normally do, but I did some other things in the gym, so I don't mind. I also got my tanning out of the way this morning. I'm so tired still that I think I could sleep all day! Must be the crappy weather outside. I was good at the gym, it was after that when I wanted to stay in bed! I went shopping last night for groceries to do way better in my eatting, than ordering out so much. I have got to get this off. I know I haven't done full measurements, but I know I have lost some in my waist and my gut since last month, even though no weight loss on the scale. So I am definately trying to do a much better job this week than last! It's time to get this weight off for good and keep it off this time. I haven't been taking the Phen for a about two weeks now. :( I have it, I just don't take it. I don't feel like it does anything for me, other than the dry mouth...which means I drink more water, so maybe I should take it.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week so far, drink lots of water (my big problem last week) and have fun!!!

Hey Ladies. Just checking in. My week has not gotten off to a good start. I am exhausted, grumpy and slightly stressed out. Ugh!
I did receive the BL dvds..Thanks, Carmen! However, I have not touched them due to the fact that the compressor on our a/c went out last thursday. It was 96 here on friday, mind you...and when I get all hot and swollen...I get REALLY irritable...on top of trying to sleep when its 80+ degrees in the house, my son has woken up 2 nights in a row around 2:30 and 3 am coughing and gagging from mucous and severe allergies. This has made for long, long exhausting days at work. And if all of this wasn't enough..I have my stepson down for spring break, my husband off work for the week and the 3 of them just make one mess after another and do you think they pick up after themselves? No, that would require them to move out from in front of the tv or the video games. So, after being up with my son & working a 12 hour day, I get to come home after 6pm to a hot box and them sitting in front of the tv amongst what looks like the path of where a tornado came through...shoes, clothes, toys all over the floor, dirty dishes piled in the sink and on the counters and dried, sticky soda on the floor. Do you think u could have at least started some dinner? So I have to go to the store for allergy medicine, cook, clean, take care my son, the dog, the fish, etc.etc.. oh and while I'm picking up around them as they are still in front of the tv...my stepson has gotten my brand new excercise ball and is running and dive-bombing on top of it and bouncing himself off onto the floor... Can I scream yet? Okay, I just think I need a vacation...oh, I forgot...we are so short staffed at work it is impossible to get any time off.. Despite all of my issues...I dropped 1 lb last week. It was almost 3 (sat morning) until I started swelling ( I will blame it on that) At least it was a loss though...
Carmen aren't you glad you asked where everybody was at? Ha. Probably not...but I appreciate you all letting me rant, rave and vent....because damn, that felt good! I hope everyone is having a MUCH better week that mine has started out to be...

Guys I am so sorry about last night. I got a call to watch Cameron (my weekeneder 3 yr old) and I agreed, then getting home really late, playing with my new phone and my neighbor working at Arby's at night as a manager got robbed at gun point. She's 7 months pregnant, so I kept their 3 year old while they were getting things straight. Poor thing, she prays everyday before going to work. I know she doesn't like it. They refuse to put the 3 yr old in daycare so they work opposite shifts and she goes to shcool full time. I hope maybe this will cause them to change their spending habits so she can stay at home. She's ok and so is the other guy, just really shaken up. By the time I finally realized it was thursday...it was almost midnight. Not to mention, a beautiful day out and bike night. :( I feel like I am running on zombie mode right now and just going through the motions of life without realizing what's actually going on. I have only made it to the gym once this week. I am still at 172..hmmm. But I know why also. So here's to another fresh new start AGAIN on Monday.

Renee, 30 pounds.... you go girl!!! Sherry, you look FABULOUS DARLING!!! and I hope you got that job at Petsmart, that looks like fun!!! And a lot less stressful! Jen, vent away my dear! I would be kickin me some testosterone hiney! My son's on spring break at home playing video games and do you think it occurs to him to pick up before I get home??? NO! Not unless I ask then he sighs like I am asking him to run a marathon. But last night, he was really sweet and helped out a lot, making dinner, helping take care of Cameron, taking care of me...etc. He has his moments where he is so sweet. Usually when I am sick or extremely exhausted.

I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend. i am hoping to go to bed early tonight. I have tons to do this weekend that I am not looking forward to, depending on how much I get done here, I will be back at work this weekend, etc.

Can I ask....What the hell, of course I can, and I am going to even if I can't! haha. That's just me!
But do you ever feel like as a woman you are always doing, doing and doing for everyone else and NEVER seem to get time to yourself. And then our stupid asses, as soon as we get extra money or time to ourselves, we are still doing for others instead of for us! Agghh. I get so tired of doing for everyone and wish that someone would do something for me sometime. (Ha ha, that can be taken in a total different context...but that too!!!)....And yes, my mind is always there! ALWAYS!!! I am so looking forward to this move, because I was so tired of doing it on my own. I don't mind raising my son alone. I do a damn good job. It's just that I got so tired of being the only one contributing to paying the rent and doing it on my own. So I am really blessed and thankful for this opportunity. It's also good practice for marriage someday...if that happens again! But at the same token, I was laughing at your post Jen, and then getting scared at the same time because I can see Cole and Stephen playing video games and me cleaning. WAIT A MINUTE!!! That's not fair! lol. I wouldn't want to be a man, but damn, sometimes it's hard being a woman. But if it was easy, God would have let men do it. haha.

Oh, there is this thing Stephen sent me, you all need to check it out. I laughed the entire time!!! It's so freakin true...at least from my end of things. Try to look under Tale of Two Brains by Mark Gungor if this doesn't work.. It's hillarious. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1QoCXKPh9Zw&feature=related

Have a great day!!!!

Hey everyone. Sorry, life got even more stressful after Thursday. It's finally calmed back down. Renee, you look awesome girl! You ladies are making me realize I need to step it up a bit...ok, a lot a bit!!! :) Sherry, I am glad you got your job. Don't let your fear get to you, snakes are really cool. On Saturday I went to work out that morning and a water main had busted inside the gym, so it's been closed. :( But I need to go to bed early tonight and take my happy hiney to the gym in the morning!

My workout partner, Robin has been having chest pains since about a week and a half ago when she was pushing herself really hard. I kept telling her to pace herself but she was not hearing it. I feel bad because I feel like I should have done or said more. Please keep her in your prayers. She went for an EKG the other day and a stress test today.

I hope everyone has a great day.

Hey all---hope everyone is doing what they said they would do this week!

As for me, the DVD's all dont work, so Im thinking its the DVD player, Carmen? I will check it out. Well, I guess April 1st will work---but I challenge you to do it regardless of me!

this is Day 2 of my phen and still feeling super "high". I got on the scale yesterday and then again this morning...I was hoping for a phen miracle, but nope, gained .5 lb!! But--I know (from past experience), it takes it a bit to start working.

Gottado--I knew you'd love it...figure out your name and we can challenge each other.

Kaitlyn --glad to see you checking in this week...sounds like you have quite a hectic life! Keep us posted about your friend

Renee--doesnt it feel great to receive all of those compliments! :D Just think what they'll be saying when you are in ONEderland!

Sherry--tell us how work goes!

Everyone here is amazing! Keep up the great work!

ok I am back!

Last week was spring break and I had all the kids here and was just running around all over the place w/ them.Trying to get back in the swing this week. I did great at Easter NO CANDY not even one! I also ate only what is allowed on induction for Atkins BUT still no weight loss. I guess I will need more water and vitamins or something. Still losing inches though.
I am about to go and read up on this thread to see if I missed anything, hope everyone is doing great!

Hello All!

I am very excited about starting a new challenge tomorrow. I know that with Spring now upon us, and longer days, I will be more inspired than ever to get all this weight off.

I hope you guys all hang in there with us.

Final weigh in 220.6lbs. I was hoping to be in the teens by now but I know that for me I have not been very focused. Tomorrow is a new day.:)

everyone should be really proud of themselves...
Gottado--especially for moving the numbers!

The rest of us who had a few pounds...I think the major accomplishment we can talk about is the fact that we are stll here...and still willling to try to make a lifestyle change. I think Spring is going to be our time to shine brighter than sunshine and really move the numbers down!

Thank yall for being here since January!

Hey Dessie, sorry phen does not seem to agree with you. What dose are you on??? Perhaps you should talk to your doctor and see if he/she can decrease the dose for you. Also, phendimetrazine maybe an option for you. I was told that it is a milder form of phentermine. I was taking phenD until the first of March and had NO side effects at all.

Dessie you can totally do it without the phen... do not let that discourage you. I did without the phen for the last two months and did not have awesome numbers but was still losing. Keep going... and thanks to you for sticking it out also... :0

Hey guys. Sorry I haven't been around. My computer at home is on the fritz and it's just one of the many things in a long list of "wants" and not "needs" that money has to go to. I have been so stressed lately. I haven't been taking phen or my thyroid meds in a while. It shows.

Final weigh in - 175.
I still have all over inches lost, although I gained some since Feb 14th. :( But it's time to start over. Pick myself up, dust myself off, and start again. That's what's it about, not giving up.

My life is on a total revamp right now. I'm not happy with how some things were. I even made a huge change in my hair. It's always been really long for the past ten years and I chopped it all off this weekend. My focus and attitude was right to do it otherwise my hair dresser is under very strict instruction not to cut it short. She's turned me down for over 5 years whenever I have tried. That's why I love her so much. This weekend she didn't bat and eye, just said lets go for it, it will be a great look for you. She knew I was ready for a change and that's without saying anything to her yet, so I know that what's changing on the inside is showing on the outside as well. Good, it's about time. So I am totally looking forward to KISS and getting back to basics. To what I know works for me and what works for my family.

Hey Sherry. You will be in my prayers...I know several people that have had Bells Palsy. Did they say how minor or severe it is? I worked with a guy who woke up that way and after a matter of a few days it started diminishing where you couldn't even tell...but he said it took about a month to be back to completely normal. I think it depends on the severity as to the amount of time it takes for the nerves to recover. Hopefully you will recover in no time....think positive

marie ,jely, renee and carmen thanky ou so much for the thoughts and prayer they mean so much. The docotr said it is from a middle ear infection that has swollen and pressing against my 7th cranil nerve ( facial nerve) he said that as far as getting back to normal it will take time it depends on how damaged the nerve is he said I have to go to rehab to try to learn how to use my muscles again. It is so hard to drink something without it getting on my.. it is really frustrating and depressing and I go through times of getting so mad and then I cry. he said that there is a high chance of it going away but not to get my hopes up because there are times when somethings dont change it a few signs will be permanent and then few people dont heal at all.A girl friend called me and told about a girl she worked with got it and they told her it would go away but her face is like that still 2 years later ( I thought that was kinda crappy of her to tell me that so soon) she not a really good friend. I try to stay optimistic and think positive thoughts it is just really hard. I dont know if I told any of you before but my life hasnt been so great... when I was just starting to walk my mom left me ouside with some people who had a camp fire burning and did not watch me.. I walked right over to it and bent down picked up some sticks burned my hands I had surgery from 3 up to 14 years old.. my mother wasnt best mom in the world she was young and didnt wants kids she tried to get an abortin bu my grandmother wouldnt let her , she tried to put me up for adoption but my grandmother would let her my aunt was 13 nd she took better care of me then my mom.. then when I was 7 she met my second step dad married and that was amistake.. he abused me til I was 15 everyway you could think of my little brother and I was sent to foster care home after being there for a little while my litle brother left to go live with his grandfather and I was still there at the home which I promise you it was like the cinderella story no joke without the prince.. the state shut their home down I went to live with a lady accross the street for a year then my best friend for a year then on my own got a job and apt at age 18 It has been really hard I have my husband and my little brother but that is it my mother had a chance to get us back because she wasnt guilty of anything when I was 16 but she just disappeared.. it is liek she has so much guilt.. I found her a few times but she keeps moving so at age 19 I let bigons be bigons and left everyone behind all I keep in touch with is my brother. My husbands family dislikes me because he was dating a girl before he met me and she became pregnant he tried to work it out with her but they couldnt get a along his little girl was 1 when I met him she is now fixing to turn 9 I have been there almost all her life and I am really good to her.. but they didnt want my husband to be with anyone but her.. so the family thing isnt so much up my alley all though I would give anything to have a warm hug from my mother right now..I feel like saying what else... what else is going tohappeen to me because I dont feel I cant take anymore I just feel really crappy right now and I apologize to those of you that feel I gave TMI but to those of you that read thank you .. you mean alot to me. I wish you all the best! Sorry it there are typos hard to see with one eye

Sherry... My uncle went through the same thing a few years back and had a full recovery, so do not let what your friend said get you down it is very likely you will recover so keep taking it one day at a time.. you are going to be fine... but his had to do with his ear and everything it was scary because we thought he had a stroke.. it did take a while for him to fully recover but today you would never know it... so keep your spirits up

I totally get where you are coming from with your unfortunate past(to say the least) and you are so strong for getting through that all with your head on straight just imagine the great things that are ahead of you. Try not to let the past stuff enter your present as bad as it stinks what you are going through right now all those things will only make it seem a lot worse and make it all seem like a heavier burden. You are going to walk through this with your head held high even if you only see out of one eye and drink and spill and know that when this is over you are going to be stronger and not take your health for granted.... you deserve to vent to us all you want because right now your situations ****s but I am so proud of you for looking toward the future and not letting this get your too down.. I am so glad you shared with us...
By the way I totally missed the finale and I am so upset... my husbands b-day was today and we had dinner plans with family if I would have realized the finale was tonight i would have totally reschedule his birthdya...lol

Gotta thank you for that reply! I needed to hear that! It did scare me when it happened that is what I look like.. kinda looks like a little stroke. they have me on antibiotics for my ear infection.. my face is getting sore .. feels kinda like a bruise I am hope that is good maybe it means there is sensations getting back to normal ( fingers are crossed) lol It was a real shocker but I realize I can not sit and dwell on this!! Just as you said it wll only feel worse.. there is no forward if I keep it in reverse.
Just as you all know I have been looking for a job.. well I am waiting on the biolife plasma lady to call me say I have the job.. well I applied for a teller job at a bank can you believe I have an inteview tomorrow at 1:15 not sure how that is going to turn out!!! but you know what I am going to go anyways and let them knw what happened.. and in the end still hold me head up high :D The Lord will take care of me .. he always have I have faith.. I believe this happened to me for a reason... I feel as if I am going to be changed for the better.. not that I am a bad person but.. you knwo what I mean.. it has opened my eyes to a lot and especially liek you said my health!!! I have always put myself last.. now I need to start thinking of me because Iam 30 and could suffer a heart attck at any moment you never knwo what will happeen tomorrow!! I love you all and for you to take time and write something so caring means so much! I feel much closer to you now :) I guess venting on that stuff I wrote was something I ahd to get off my chest.. the only one to hear it is my husband and I dont like to upset him he has been more then helpful and worried.Thank you ... Please continue to pray for me :)

Happy birthday to your hubby! But girl alli won!! She was soooooooooooo tiny.. man I hope I can get like that... I ahve a little challenge added now.. hey say those steroids make you gain... my fingers are crossed it dont come one too strong!!:D
