Guys I just got on the scale and guess What? It said 178 lbs. :eek:I almost cried. This is working for me. I was so tired of being in the 180's. I am so proud of myself that I could cry and to thank all of you for your help, advice and encouragement. I have an extra kick in my step now. ;)

Sue I would love to say that I exercise but I didn't. 5 days a week we have a part time job at night for 2 hours cleaning a office building...now that's very physical. I cut carbs down to 20 and ate protein and veggies and fruit. I eat cottage cheese/jello when I crave sweets.

I use to quit when others would lose faster than I would. Weight Watchers first week I lost 2lbs others around 10 so I was a sore loser and quit. Now I realize that being in my late 40's I probably will average around 2lbs a week(wish it was more) but that's okay I won't quit this time. I wish the clinic that I go to would hurry and get the B12 and HCG injections. I heard that will help speed things along faster.
Spercy55 you lost quite a bit. If you're stuck check this out.
You set out to lose weight with the best of intentions. You are sticking to your diet – a few slips here and there, but nothing major that would result in the pounds not coming off. But, still nothing seems to be happening. You follow the weight loss program and still it has been weeks since you have seen any significant weight loss. Is this a weight loss plateau? Many people who try to lose weight get hit with a weight loss plateau. Dieting can be difficult enough – getting stuck at the same weight for weeks is extremely frustrating. Here are some tips and suggestions to help break through the dreaded weight loss plateau.
Many weight loss programs use a similar approach to what types of food groups you eat. For example, a common combination is 50% carbohydrates, 30% protein and 20% fat. For a short time – to get over the weight loss plateau – make an adjustment to these percentages. Lower the amount of carbohydrates and bump up the amount of protein.
1. Keep moving - increase the exercise. If you are struggling to get the pounds moving in the right direction again – either add exercise to your weekly calendar or increase the amount of exercise you do. Cardio exercises are excellent for burning fat. If you are already exercising – try adding five to ten minutes to your routine. If you are not currently exercising – adding even a small amount of exercise to your plan can have a huge impact on the amount of weight you lose. Give it a try!
2. Check your calories. When you stared the weight loss program – whether you are using a formal program or you are doing it on your own – you took into consideration your weight and the number of calories needed to lose weight. if you have lost a good bit of weight already – you may need to reduce the number of calories you are eating now to continue to lose weight. For example, if you weighed 200 pounds when you began your diet and you want to weigh 120 pounds – you should eat 1600 calories per day. But, now you weigh 150 pounds and you still want to get down to 120 - now you should only eat 1400 calories per day. The Calorie Control Counsel [link - http://www.caloriecontrol.org/] has some great tools for weight loss.
3. There is not anything much more frustrating to someone trying their best to lose weight than a weight loss plateau. The good thing is realizing that this is an obstacle that most dieters have faced – so you are not alone. And fortunately, there is a lot of information, tips and advice on how to combat the dreaded weight loss plateau.

Congratulations, Sharons!!! And thank you for posting this info for us. I'm stuck also in the 80's and I can't seem to get out! I think I'll go back to lowering my carb intake again and see what happens.

Just posted this on the other thread."Here's a little inspiration for those of you who are worried about not seeing any changes in your bodies so far. It's what I call the Paper Towel Theory.
Let's assume you go out and buy two rolls of paper towels, each with only 84 sheets on it. You put one aside, and keep it for future reference (it will be your "before" picture.) The other represents you (I'll call your Paper Towel You, "Ed.") The cardboard core represents the lean Ed. The towels represent the fat that is covering the lean Ed. For the sake of argument, let's say that Ed wants to lose 21 pounds of fat, so (84/21) each sheet represents a quarter-pound of fat lost. Let's also assume that Ed loses his fat equally during each of 84 days (1 for each paper towel sheet.)
Each day during the first week, you tear a sheet off of Ed, representing the fat he has lost for the day. Next, you put Ed next to the untouched full roll ("Big Ed") for comparison (that's why you need 2 rolls.) No noticeable difference! Even at the end of the week! This can't be working for me, say you!
But, being a good Ed, you continue to follow your diet plan, your new way of life. At the end of weeks two and three, you continue to compare Ed to Big Ed, and still notice very little difference.
But Ed is determined! He works hard! Three more weeks go by, the sheets peeling off day after day, before Ed gets up the courage to stand next to Big Ed again. Holy Nonfat Cottage Cheese! Ed is skinny! Ok, not skinny, but less huge!
By the end of 12 weeks, Ed is down to his lean dream, or somewhere near it or on the way to it. Ed is happy. We are happy. Big Ed - well, he's not so happy.
The lesson to be learned is that fat, like paper towels, comes off in sheets. When you are heavy, you are big around. And when you are big around, that fat is spread over a MUCH larger area - just like that outside towel sheet. The closer you get to the lean you, the more each lost pound of fat shows, because it is spread over a smaller area.
While the outside sheet may only cover 1 layer of the roll, the inside sheet may go around 4 times! That last sheet looks like it gives you 4 times the results of the first sheet, but in reality, the results are the same -- your perception is just different! And you'll never see the inside, if you aren't patient while the outside is coming off."
