I have been on phen for two weeks now. My starting weight was 254. I have cut my calories down from 2300 to 1200-1400 per day. I work out 3-4 days a week for about 45 min. I drink about 84 oz of water per day. I went to weigh in yesterday and only lost 4 pounds. Is this ok? I read everyone's posts and they say they lose 10lbs, 20 lbs in 1 month. Why not me? I've made such drastic changes and expected more (like 10 lbs or so). Please talk to me.....

Is the scale that you're weighed on give you any other info beside your weight? Like your muscle mass vs. fat mass? You might have gained some muscle!! That's what happened to me this week... see my post! (http://www.phentermine.com/forum/success-stories/74132-whooo-down-26-lbs.html)

i have that same thing going on with me. i have on ly lost 5 pounds and i felt sad. but we is great is that we are here for you.

just keep it up and you will lose, we all hit a wall at different times. Im stuck at 230 right now :(

Keep doing what you are doing ... the scale will go down. Please keep in mind ... you may be losing inches vs. weight.

Congrats on your 4lb weight loss!!! My first two weeks I lost 7lbs. The ladies are right. You have done a GREAT JOB! Sometimes those who lose 10 or 20lbs are starting out at a much higher weight then what you are. Your body just might not be use to the sudden change it is experiencing. In my case, I didn't gain my weight over night, so I know that I won't lose it overnight. Keep your head up and take it one day at a time. Four pounds may not seem like alot, but it is four pounds less on you body! Put me on your friends list. I would love to give you more encouragement!

Thank you all for the encouraging words. I just figured out how to read your responses! I thought no one cared. By the way Raquel, disregard my cry for help I recently sent. I finally found you guys! I will let you know what my next weigh in is. Good luck to everyone!

I have been on phen for a week and a half now and I have lost 6 pounds. I wanted to see like a10 pound weight loss my first week but I know that I haven't been doing all the right things. I am setting forth some challenges for myself this week...drink the water, exercise! Those are my first two. I've seen the scale go between 222 and 223 for like three days now. I am ready to get out of the 20s. You can get over this hurdle as well. Let's do it this week! No plateaus!

I know from my experience when u start exercise u have to wait about 2 weeks 4 it to show up. Another question I would have is where did u get ur phen? Just keep up the good work and i promise it will show... Also u might want to add 5htp at night that helped me..:p

hi the same thing happened to me anout 6 yrs ago i was all excited that u can lose up to about 25lbs a month and when i did my month weigh in i only lost 12lbs
but now 2 kids and 6 yrs latter i am trying agian i started 02-09-2008 and just 3 days my scale is showinf i lost 4 lbs already so i am guessing it depends on u and your body type but good luck :D

Hi Cat79, I am getting my phentermine from a weight loss doctor who monitors your weight loss in 2wk to 2 mo. increments. His philosophy is a little different than some of the doctors I have heard about on this site. He thinks obesity is a disease and just like diabetes or high blood pressure, it needs to be treated. He says you can take the phentermine as long as one likes. Of course from my experience before about 4 years ago, you have to take some time off when you build up a tolerance, and restart. My friend did this and lost 100 pounds. Sometimes he uses 2 weight loss meds at a time. I weigh in next week. I am anxious to see what I have lost.

I think that even tho your not losing the pounds that yr still pushing yr way towards it ya know, plus you could be gaining muscle, but I understand its discouraging!

I took phentermine last year for 2 months and lost 50 pounds!. If your not hungry do not eat forreal, and keep moving around, drink plent water and it you feel dizzy which can happen get some hard candy and **** on it, because your sugar is probably down you'll lose fast. I say get the weight off and worry later. Learn how to portion while on this meds sso you don't have to go back on. i 'am a pharmacy tech, and i will start this med soon but i want to be committed this time to keep it off and always aim for lower than your goal weight cause you will gain atleast 5 to 10 pound back!

CONGRATS ON THE 4 POUNDS... the way I see is it you're 4 pounds less than where you were! As long as the scale doesn't go up, and keeps going down I think you're very successful. Good luck next week at your weigh in

I have been on phen for 3 weeks and only lost 8 pounds. My goal is to loose 2 pounds a week. The faster you loose, the easier it is to gain back. Just think, it's better to loose 4 pounds than to gain. I have hypothyroidism so I am happy to loose any weight. Don't get discouraged-- celebrate the start of a thinner you.

I started on Saturday and today I got on the scale and lost only 3lbs. First I was like "Is that all" well it has not been a week yet so praying it will be more. I realize too that everyone's body is different. My metabolism is slow. Like Sassylass said we didn't gain it overnight. At least its 4lbs LESS off of your body. Stay encouraged..it WILL come off. Don't give up like I did before.

cat79 I bought the 5HTP why do you take it at night? I just got it today and also what does it suppose to do.

The other thing to keep in mind is that those HUGE losses you see from a lot of people their first week is mostly water weight. Obviously we're all more concerned with losing fat than losing water in the long run, so don't sweat it (no pun intended). I don't even get on the scale for the week and a half to two weeks around the time of my period because the water weight comes and goes and has a tendency to piss me off :p . Just hang in there. Scientifically, it is physically impossible to be burning more calories than you take in and not lose weight. Keep this in mind!

You all really have encouraged me alot. You are right. I am 4 pounds less than I was. If I lose weight next week, I will be in the 140's which I have not seen probably in more than a year! I am excited! :rolleyes:

Hi Ladies, I take my last pill Saturday, for my first month. Monday, I will go into the weight doctor. I lost 10 lbs my first week, but TOM visited me this week and I don't know what to think. I was so bloated, but I have done the treadmill all week, it actually stops your cramps --- another woman told me this years ago, I thought she was crazy, but its true, but they do come back after about 15 minutes. I ate a 3 Musketeers here and there, there are worse candy bars at least it didn't have nuts or caramel. I didn't over eat, drank my water so I'm hoping with the treadmill, I leveled things out. But I feel I'm coming around. I'm anxious for Monday, to see what month 1 results are.
Keep at it ladies. We will make it. ;)

I also started out slow, actually I have been slow to lose all along, about 2 and a half pounds a week however I just hit week 17 and I have lost 45 pounds. I was really discouraged in the beginning but now I am just relieved and thankful I am still loosing! I started at 248 and I as of today I am 203. I have not been under 200 pounds in 10 years and I know any day I will hit that first goal! Hang in there it will be off before you know it!

Happy Saturday....everyone is so encouraging. I have been on Phen for 3 months and have lost 11 lbs without any exercise. I recently started exercising and the weight is starting to fall off. My doctor recommends going off of phen for a few weeks. Does anyone have any suggestions? Is my body getting use to the med and is it possible that it is not being effective? Any responses are greatly appreciated.....

hi everyone. well i hope you all are doing well today. i just wanted to throw something at ya all....not sure if anyone has seen it or not. but there is a water filter you can put under the water spout in the kitchen and it has a flavoring devise you can push to make the flaovr come out in the water your drinking. my kids love it, they have drank more water now than ever. i paid like $50 for it at wal - mart. it was well work it. but there is no calories or sugar.the filter is called pur you can get the flavors in strawberry (our favorite) , peach , or rasberry. they taste good. so you all may try it if your like me and dont like to drink water. i wish you all well........
