Hi....I've been reading a lot of these post re eating. Some say to cut calories, but some say when you do that you lose muscle. I was wondering if eating lean cuisine is ok? Can anyone help me with this?

hello future 140..

Yes, eating a lean cuisine is OK.. I eat them all the time for lunch and add to them a side salad or another serving of veggies that I have cooked. Bottom line, you want to stay within your calorie range for the day you sometimes have to eat prepared food to control the portions and calories. I do 1000-1200 calories a day. Sometimes that includes prepared diet food and food of my own that I have prepared in a healthy way.

Bottom line, the Phen will make you not hungry so you will be able to eat a reduced calorie diet and be successful.. But when we are off Phen we need to have retrained oursleves to eat in moderation and make wise choices.

As far as losing muscle... well, I don't have any to speak of (heheehe). You don't want to do an extremely low calorie 500-800 as that can be dangerous, you need to learn to eat in moderation and lose the weight in a healthy way. A way that you will be able to recreate once you are off Phen and learning how many calories you body needs to maintain your goal weight.

Good luck to you. Maybe you can do some type of web search to figure out the amount of calories you need daily based on your statistics. Possiblty look on the Jenny Craig website for meal ideas and calorie counts.

Thank you so much for your help, togetskinnysoon. I love how you addressed me as "future 140"!! Just saying that gave me an extra boost of motivation.

I'm glad to know that eating the weight watchers is ok. That's what I started tbrnging to work for lunch as of yesterday. After I ate it, I was feeling so guilty!

As I mentioned on another post topic, I will not be able to stay on Phentermine until I've reached my goal weight, because the Dr. is closing his practice. I'm a little devastated. I want to try to purchase them online, but you don't know if they're the real thing. :-(

you're welcome future 140..

If you can train yourself to do a "diet" meal and a side fruit, salad or veggie for lunch 5 of the 7 days, you are well on your way. This will cut your calories down so you can have a "normal" dinner, in a much smaller portion. Be sure to eat something for breakfast too... a protien shake, an egg and whole wheat toast, oatmeal, something...

Please keep us posted with your progress. I am off to my wiegh in appt with my doc...
