who beat his 7 month old half sister to death with a 2x4 to stop her from crying???????
I heard on news and read in paper today.
What is our world coming to? How could anyone, but especially a child do that? Is he even responsible? (legally, morally?)

From what the paper said, it happened about a month ago and they just released the info today.
Apparently, the dad and stepmom were outside when it happened. The boy was jealous of the attention the baby girl was getting and she was crying. So, he hit, kicked, punched and hit her with a 2x4.
He went outside and told them she was bleeding.
They don't know what to do with him- try him for murder or....
Really what do you do with a 7 year old who kills?
Do they even understand that what they did is not reversible. They see video games, movies, where the dead person just gets back up.
Using that excuse doesn't fly for me with older kids 11-12, even 10. But a 7 year old????? Does he really understand what he did?
That poor baby girl. :miss_u:
Why would the parents even leave them alone for a minute? It seems he has been violent with kids his own age and younger for some time.

I also gleaned from reading/news that in the state of Florida, he "technically" can be charged with murder because Florida is one of the few states without an age limitation for murder.
Highly unlikely, but possible....
Oh, what a terrible, tragic mess....

OMG as a Mother this is awful and dreadful..but he needs to suffer with the consequence of his actions..I mean I know he will have a burning memory stamped in his brain, but he needs more.. maybe to be house in a mental institution.

Actually, he probably should be in therapy. He is too young to be tried, cuz I doubt he knows entirely what he did. I don't think these acts come from videos either. I do empathize and sympathize with the parents. That's a tragedy, cuz basically they have lost 2 children, not one. I pray they will be all right. The little boy especially cuz he couldn't know how serious this is
