Phentermine & Birth Control

Does anyone know if Phenterine has any effects on your birth control pills? I take Ortho TriCyclen Lo Pills and I recently started having dark spotting about every other day. Any help is appreciated.

It didnt with my loestrin but now I take the ortho just for period control(i had my tubes tied) and I started spotting like that the other night.Phen will mess you all up though-Im usually heavy for days and sometimes wont have one so its all a big headache while on phen.Its worth the loss I guess.Good luck to you!

I take the mono-phasic pills (you are on a tri-phasic) and it made my period weird (when I was taking phen) and I had some mid-month cramping. Now, just make sure you read the package insert on your b.c. pills because my friend just got pregnant while taking the ortho tri cyclin... She missed one day somewhere and now she is preggers. (not to scare you- i just wanted to pass along the info).

Just another precaution about birth control. Apparently, if you weight over a certain amount the pill is less effective. I was on the pill and weighed 211 and I got pregnant with my son. I think the weight limit is like 180 or something, my doctor never mentioned it. Needless to say, I stopped seeing him.

I am on the depo-provera shot and before Phen, didnt have any side effects and now I have spotting all the time and especially during sex! which is annoying.... so I am switching to a BC pill this month and I was hoping that it would make that go away.... evidently not :(
