Colon Cleansing!! I know it's not the most fun thing to talk about, but I found this very interesting website and thought you all may want to look into it. It's www dot drnatura dot com (I spelled it out because I didn't want it to be edited). It has a product called colonix that cleanses your colon of toxins and other nasty things! Clients are stating that they have lost weight and inches, especially in the stomach. It helps with bloating, IBS, and constipation. You might want to check it out.

Some clients have even left their email addresses for people to email them with questions, concerns, etc. I've actually emailed one of the people that wrote a testimonial to get some more feedback. Let me know what you think.

Interesting. My chiro told me to try 1 Tbsp of organic, raw, all natural apple cider vinegar and a little honey in a glass of water to cleanse toxins also. He does it cold, but some people do it warm, like tea. The label on the vinegar basically says the same thing.

I tried a couple of times, but I can't get past the vinegar smell! I just bought some straws and plan on trying to choke it down while holding my nose!!

You would be surprised at how good apple cider vingegar is for you... sore throats, stomach problems, there are more, I'll have to look them up...
plug your nose- 50% of your taste comes from your sense of smell (this is why you can't taste anything with a plugged up nose) and chug-a-lug!

I have JRA (arthritis) and I take apple cider vinegar with honey every single morning, and have for almost 5 years, and it WORKS! Works better than any of those crazy arthritis drugs that have all been recently recalled. I think that stuff have amazing healing powers! ;)

Janiyas-mom, Went to the website. Interesting....

I think I'll try the apple cider first. Someone try the dr. natura stuff and let us know how it goes. If it will help me get rid of this "pouch", I'll **** it up and spend the $75/month. (Still, ouch...)

Is all that gross stuff they talk about on the website really in me? I mean, I could have a parasite and not know it??? Ewww! And why does just using OTC stuff like phospho soda not do the same thing. And how could cleaning all of that out of you make your hair and nails and complexion better? I'm full of questions about this because I would like help with my hair and nails and complexion!

I just ordered it. I'm such a ******. I want to try and see if it works (they have an unconditional 30 day money back guarantee).

If it works, I want my husband to take. He is 41 and I worry about his health- not so much overweight, just eat/drink the wrong things for so long. He has problems with his digestive system and with fatigue. He has abused his body for a looooonnnnggg time.(since he could walk)

Me, I just want to lose this tummy. :D

Oh wow, I'm such a wimp I can't bear the thought of that, lol. When I've been hot-n-heavy into exercise I know that doing Pilates a few times a week will pull my gut in better than anything else.

Good luck!

Sounds pretty nasty but even the amish uses the vinegar, I have one of their books and it's full of all natural recipes for weightloss...

The book says....

Watermelon Flush... Eat all the watermelon in a day and nothing else...You will be astonished when you weigh yourself in the morning, Not only will ou lose wieght fast but this is a remarkable body clenser. You will feel more calm and your mind will be cleaner. It's very easy and it works.

Drink a glass of water with 1T.apple cidar vinegar 15-30 minutes before each meal to lose weight and it helps with fibromyalgia and joint pain.

I haven't tryed any of these yet... I'm waiting to get courage from the great wizard of Oz.... :)

When I get "slow" I do an oral Sea salt enama. It is very cheap and very effective.

HERE IS HOW YOU MAKE IT
It is 1/2 gallon of warm water (Use a very clean milk jug to measure) and 1 to 1 1/2 Tablespoons of seasalt. Shake the mixture up and sip it (try to have it completely consumed within 15 min.) It is not the best tasting stuff but IT WORKS!!!

***WARNING****
*MAKE SURE YOU HAVE NO WHERE TO GO FOR THE NEXT HOUR OR SO. HAVE WATER BY YOU BECUASE IT TENDS TO MAKE YOU THIRSTY, BRING READING MATERIAL, AND LET IT FLOW.*

YOU KNOW THE "PROCESS" IS DONE WHEN THE FLUIDS ARE CLEAR, YES IT WORKS THAT GOOD.

Well, here I go again! I'm actually scared to death to post. I really don't covet the position of most hated phen poster. But I feel I need to speak up.
Laxatives are meant to be used on a very occasional basis. Not weekly, not daily, etc...
Laxatives are addictive, they will make you unable to "go" on your own.
They will NEVER make you lose weight!
It' is simple scientific fact. Almost NOBODY has pounds of poop in their colon. And if you do... you need MEDICAL help, not a colon cleanse!
If you have parasites (doubtfull!) you need to go to a Doctor. Vinegar isn't going to do it!
"Dieters Tea" is a laxative. "Sea Salt" is a laxative. "Senna" is a laxative. "Witch Hazel" is a laxative.
Many dieters inadvertently become addicted to laxatives. You can totally mess -up your internal mechanisms (see, I'm trying to be delicate) and it will NEVER make you lose weight!
Here's what happens. You take a laxative, you poo till it hurts, you become dehydrated, and your scale will move down. YAY! You will think, I lost weight! Must have been a whole bunch of poo in there!
Then, within the next 36 hours, your dehydrated body will actually start to retain water. It is trying to (over)compensate for all the dehydration. Now, you will feel pudgy, your clothes will be tight, your scale will go up, your "system" will slow.
Your bodies reaction will tempt you to take another laxie! (Or a "water pill") It becomes a vicious circle.
Laxie abuse is an addiction and (I repeat) will NEVER help you lose weight. It is very dangerous. Please do some research before you become involved in this vicious circe.
PLEASE realize that many laxies are (so-called) "natural" That doesn't mean it is not a laxative.
Many people have a problem with constipation when they start phen. That means you aren't getting enough FIBER. Take more fiber. Eat your veggies, you beans, etc. Take a fiber supplement! But PLEASE, don't play with laxatives (or any of the fancy names like "colon cleanse") I only say this because I care! Please don't get mad!
And, P.S. Sweetjas...
An enema goes up your rump! I've never heard of an "oral enema" I suspect it is just another fancy name for a laxative. Just FYI, "enema" is the wrong word! You are taking a laxative. A laxative is appropriate for people that are truly constipated. FIBER is appropriate for people that feel a bit slow.
Laxatives are addictive. People that become addicted are unable to "go" on their own. Laxatives will NEVER help you lose weight.
Those are the facts.

Candy, I like you lots. :heartpump: Happy you came back to the forum.

As far as laxies go, well, just go and go... enima bags, colon cleansing and cleaning the old in"nerds", is not my cup o diarreah, nope. don't think so...dehydration and ulcerated intestines can lead to all kinds of infection and bacterial/microbial imbalances. Prevention Mag talks about this craaaap and, sorry, it's gross!

A shot glass of vinegar a day is supposed to be beneficial for the entire body. It's a good thing to drink when you crave chocolate icecream.

I wonder if eating pickles and pickled veggies would give the same results. Pickled herring or salmon?

I wanna get rid of my bloated tummy!!! Laxatives and enimas? No thanks.

:)

janiyas mom - I personally want to thank you for posting this info. I ordered it after reading the site forever and all the testimonies. One of them made me laugh out loud when she said she wasn't gonna look at her 'doo-doo', but couldn't resist and could not believe her eyes. She said she felt like she was giving birth to an alien and when she saw it she almost wanted to "put a collar on it and take it for a walk" LOL! I totally got the eebie-jeebies hearing about all the living worms and stuff we all have and that you actually see pass out of yourself, but if there's a chance to lose some of this stomach I'll give it a shot. (And it is 30 day money-back guarantee) As far as I understand, it's only a three month program, not a lifetime, right? My fiancee is having major "crap" problems also and is going in for a colonoscopy. I think this could help him too. Expensive though!

Thanks again!

Kinda gross and off the initial topic, but just an FYI- Candylane is right, your digestive system can become dependant on laxatives very quickly and make it almost impossible to go without them. I’m not sure if the same problem arises with natural laxatives as it does with stimulant pills, but it makes sense that maybe it would. I wouldn’t think that a little vinegar each day would hurt much, though. For those of you experiencing the constipation side effect of phen, many doctors have told me that stool softeners are OK to use on a regular basis, even daily, if needed. They take a little longer to, ahem…work… but if taken correctly they won’t cause stomach cramping like other pills can.

Jenasis
June 8th, 2005, 10:00 AM
So far, taking a stool softener in the AM at the same time I am taking the phen, has worked really well for me. I was always a "regular" kind of girl, going "poo" usually once in the AM and once in the early PM. So for me to like.... stop....... for like........ days.... lol

So I bought the same stuff they gave me in the hospital after having both my girls, and its doing its job. It does say its more effective and works a little quicker when taken on an empty tummy, thats why I take in the AM.

I want to know if it really works also. I found that site about a month ago, and when I saw the pics, I wanted to order immediately to get that "crap" (excuse the pun) out of me!!!!! I figured I would when I have some extra $.

Also, I don't plan on doing this every day, week, or even month. Once will tell me if it works or not. Then I might consider doing it biannually or quarterly.

Just started today. It was shipped really fast. Give me a couple of weeks and I will let you know how it goes.

It is not so bad- you take a few pills in the morning with water. Then 30 mins later take a scoop of fiber in either juice or soy milk (doesn't taste great, but not so bad- better than metamucil). Then in the evening you drink some tea that is decaffinated. Does not taste bad at all.

So far... (not to be gross) has not had a "laxative effect". Just regular "bm".

Like I said, will post again in a few weeks to let you know how it goes.

APPLE CIDER VINEGAR IS VERY VERY GOOD FOR YOU!!

It helps with so much, and to just take a tablespoon everyday, no big deal and it's cheap. I have major problems with bladder infections and have done everything right for the last six years, but sure enough every six months at least, comes another one. This cider is supposed to help witht that, sore throats, heartburn(weird since it's an acid huh?)....tons of stuff. Anyways, gonna go look at that drnatura website. I did do this stuff that was called ColonBlow and I didn't think it worked very good, I poop a lot normally and this made me poop after I drank it, but it didn't feel like it cleansed me????

I'm using the DrNatura Colonix cleanser also. I got a 3 month supply. With how much I work with various livestock (sheep, cattle and horses) I deworm them regularly (every 6-12 weeks) and I've NEVER dewormed myself. The idea is disgusting, but it makes sense. The fiber powder is nasty, DO NOT take it with water! Its horrible! Take it with 2% milk or with some kind of juice, or make a smoothie out of it. Since it has Psyllium in it, it thickens the fiber mixture when in water. We used psyllium hulls to get sand out of a horses gut to prevent sand colic because it'll "grab" the sand and move it out of the body.

I'm on Day Two of it so far, and it's already made me more regular, it doesn't give you the "oh shoot, IgottagoNOW" feeling. Just the natural "urge" a person should get. OK, I feel weird talking about that.

This practice is useless in the short term and dangerous in the long term. Please don't look to websites that are trying to sell you something to get accurate medical information. Check the link aboove or google for "laxative abuse".
Anybody who does this is putting themselves at risk for no good reason.

Apple Cider vinegar is by the other vinegars and cooking wines and such at our grocery store. Very common so you should be able to find it. I hope taking the cider tablets is OK, because I can't stand the taste of the liquid!

I've seen it in our grocery store (Publix). You can probably get it in a health food/vitamin type store.

I read an article that says you should only use the "pure" apple cider vinegar. The kind you buy at the grocery store is dilluted and distilled. You can get the pure form at any health food store. Supposedly, this is the only type that will help with colon cleansing and metabolism... Just FYI!!

Kell
June 16th, 2005, 11:02 AM
I got mine at the local grocery store. I think the brand is Bragg's and it says right on it that it is raw, natural, unfiltered, etc. It was right by the "generic" diluted stuff though. My chiro also told me to try to get the raw and natural honey from a health food store if I take it and like it, but regular honey would work probably just as well. At least until I know I will be doing it every day. Which I am not yet...yuck...can't get past the vinegar smell.

you are losing weight from dehydration only. not fat. gimme a break-there is no way that stuff can be good for you. but whatever, knock yourselves out. they've got your money, and by the time you see it's a quack, they've spent it.
ps-your intestines are supposed to have bacteria in them!

jbaby,

You are so right. I was planning on replying the same thing, but you beat me to it, plus I'm a chicken. I don't want to step on anyone's toes. Bacteria is very essential in the GI tract...they produce several vitamins, one of them being vitamin K. Getting rid of that bacteria could cause a vitamin deficiency (if used often)and allow infectious bacteria to multiply among other things.

i have tried the dieter's tea because a friend said that you sohuld lose 15 pounds in one try and it did not do anything the day that i tried it, but the next day i started having diarrhea and it continued for a couple days, and i did not lose any weight, and it ****ed...would not recommend it to anyone.
candy, that was all very useful information, one thing i wanted to add was that when you look at people who are bulimic (binge/purge) they are hardly ever very skinny, this is because after they purge, which is either throwing up or using laxatives, they swell up, and whatever it was they were binging on gets absorbed into their body much faster than they are able to purge it. i would not recommend laxatives as a regular part of your life.

jbaby

why do you think weightloss is a BILLION dollar industry, while almost 50% of americans are still overweight?? because what they are selling DOES NOT WORK! seriously, if it got rid of HARMFUL bacteria in your body, dontcha think the dr's would be on it?

we want a miracle, weight loss without work, and they sell it to us. $75!!! for a laxative??

StevieGirl
July 8th, 2005, 01:37 PM
I'm not thinking of the colon cleanse as a way of losing weight, I was looking at it for health. My husband has issues with hemmeroids and acid reflux, and stomachaches (has been to the doctor numerous times). Did you see the stuff that came out of people??

Doctor's don't always jump on things that DO help, because insurance companies won't pay for "natural" remedies. They don't know all.
