I have been on Phen (perscribed by Doctor) for 2 weeks today. I am also doing WW flex points. I have lost 12.5 lbs. and for the most part the minimal side effects of the Phen are gone, i.e., trouble sleeping, jittery, etc. (Note: I have about 75 lbs to loose - cw: 260 lbs.)
I take my 37.5 pill at @ 11:00 a.m. two hours after eating breakfast (as instructed by my doctor). I eat lunch about 12:30 -- (today I had a good size salad with grilled chicken, a pita pocket and some strawberries) then about 2:30 - 3:00 I begin to feel hungry again..not real bad...but enough to disturb me. I am drinking lots of water, too!!!!
My question is why am I feeling hungry only after 3-4 hours of taking the pill????
At this time I will have something lite to eat and then at dinner I am not real hungry, but force myself to eat.
Then about 8-9pm the pill starts to wear off -- however, that is the time I go to bed..so its not usually a problem.
Any suggestions for me????? Believe, I know the pill is working to some degree...or I would not be able to eat so lightly.

Hi Sassa...
Sounds like you are doing good.
I would try to take phen right when you wake up and then eat 3 hours later. Ex...take pill about 7-eat at 9:30 or 10:00...see if that helps. Some also talk 1/2 in the morning and then 1/2 about 3-4.
It does look like you are sure doing good though...it's just good to try different times to see which one works best :) !
You are lucky you got a doc. to prescribe it for you...it saves lots of $!

Fire, that might be a good idea....does anyone else break up a 37.5 into 2 and take it twice a day??????? If so, at what times....I start my day at 6 a.m. and usually end it by 9 p.m. ANY SUGGESTIONS WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Sassagirl
I have also read a lot of different healthy eating/nutritional books lately and read where it was stated that if you find yourself tired and sleepy/lazy a few hours after eating that you had too many carbs for lunch or dinner or whatever meal you ate. If you are hungry a few hours after you have eaten a nice size healthy meal that mean not enough protein. Maybe get more protein into your meals
I would also try what fireplacenut said maybe change up your pill time or 1/2 ing it. Good luck to keep us posted.

to answer you other question
I am not on phen right now, but a few weeks ago I would eat my breakfast at around 8:30-9:00am and take my first 1/2 pill around 11:00am and have lunch no earlier then 12:pm
Then take the other 1/2 around 4:00pm and not have dinner b4 5pm. But phen didn't effect my sleep so, I could take it as late as 4:30-5:00pm if I needed too. And that helped with the evening cravings. Good luck to you.

FireplaceNut: I'm confused reading this posting ... my doctor prescribes my phen for me too, he just started and told me "it's on a trial basis, one month at a time" .... do you mean that if he were to change his mind and decided not to give it to me, I could get it anyway??? (I'm just asking because I've been on it for less than two weeks and have lost 6 pounds already .. haven't missed a day at the gym and feel GREAT!!! It would be nice to know that I could keep going to my goal weight, which is LOTS.

I purchased my from this website. Couldn't find a doc that would prescribe it to me because of my age.
There are other web sites that sell it, but we are not allowed to post those. Google it. But, a lot of people have gotten lesser products ordering from unreliable sites, and I took that into consideration and decided to pay more at this site and know I was getting the real deal.

NeedAName...
Laura answered it perfectly.
Most of us I would say get it on-line (prescribed by an on-line "doctor") b/c many doctors think it is "so easy" to "just" eat less and get your ***** on the treadmill...only they say it more elequently :)

LOL.... Some of them do... I actually had one doctor call me lazy! He launched into this hilarious lecture about how the "youth of America" thinks that everything should be handed to them and done for them, and how we don't know what it means to work for something... *rolling eyes*
I replied with, "Well, I suppose I could drop a couple of my classes, since I am taking 18 hours this semester, or I could tell my boss to cut me down to 50 hours a week instead of 60, so that I can spend $50 a month on a gym membership and dedicate my life to working out... but I think I'm just going to order the pills online. Oh, by the way, I am also going to tell every single person that I ever come in contact with in this tri-county area that you are rude and incompetent. Have a nice day!"
Hehehe... That's when I gave up and found this site.

Wow, I feel lucky to get it from the doctor for as long as it lasts, especially at pharmacy prices .. but it's good to know that if and when he changes his attitude, I have an alternative. All of these success stories are inspiring. That, together with my initial loss, the sudden burst of energy I'm feeling and the support I seem to be getting from the postings has me really encouraged to keep going for as long as it takes !! Thanks for the info.

I'm not a pro, but I'll offer my two cents.
Yes be happy you can get it from your doc! I pay 100$ a month for mine. BUT I'm on a break right now.
If you have trouble sleeping, I wouldn't take it later than say 2 or 3... also try cutting out caffine. When I was on phen and drank caffine, OMG I could NOT sleep AT ALL.
But keep in mind that you are supposed to get hungry... just not ravenous (being that you eat at regular intervals throughout the day). So if you feel hungry, eat a granola bar, apple, banana, strawberries with fat free cool whip. It doesn't matter the time you eat, just what you are eating. (typically) when you are physiologically hungry (not habitual- you have to ask yourself that) you need nutrients.
LJ My doctor is like that. I was in freaking tears because he just told me that I wasn't doing it right. I was like you MF- I have been working out and eating right. I NEEDED HELP!!! And he was like well I'll give you two weeks 'help'.
So anyway. Good luck!!!
