View Full Version : OT- I am Going NUTS!

Ugh. I am absolutely about to lose my mind. I have been under pretty much the equivilent of house arrest for exactly two weeks today- doctor's orders. No exercise, no working, as little movement as possible, pretty much.

I ventured out to Old Navy yesterday and spent a little money, that was kind of fun. But, today, its starting to get to me.

I have been reading MORE than a book a day for the past two weeks. Mostly Dean Koontz but I am working on John Grisham's lastest right now. I was just sitting on the couch reading and waiting for the mail to run and I realized how pathetic it was that the highlight of my day is the mail truck... lol

I have been shopping on eBay like there is no tomorrow, and if I don't get out of this house soon I am going to be completely broke!

I go back to the doc Tuesday, hopefully to be cleared to do anything I want, and I know that the next few days are going to be so LONG!

I am starting a new job as soon as I get the go-ahead- working in a bakery, learning to decorate cakes. I am pretty excited about that. Even though it can't possibly be good for my diet! lol

You'd think with wanting to loose weigh so bad I would try to find a job that didn't require me to be surrounded by food for 8+ hours a day. Hehehe...

There is really no point to this post, other than I am bored and feel like rambling. I cannot WAIT until I am back on my feet completely and can finally start getting myself back on track! There is something about being required to sit on your butt all day with no option of doing anything else that makes you want to eat nonstop. Ugh.

Ummmmmm did I miss something  how come your stuck at home?

Kinda wish I was with the past 2 weeks.... 2 funerals, 1 wedding, 1 baby shower.

Hey LJ I think we're soul mates, I'm going through the same thing. Too bad you don't live closer, I need someone to rescue me and take me shopping.

Hope you're ok, didn't say why you're stuck at home but I feel your pain. It's good to see you BTW.

LJ,

If you like reading, I am currently reading a book Oprah loves and it's called "Becoming Real" By gall Salitz.

I am on p45 now. Yeah took me like 30 minutes to read that... but so far it's a great book.

I also read 2 days ago a book called "the Alchemist" by Coelho and it was fantastic..

Now at 1 am, I am bored to death! LOL I am stuck in the midst of my room with my cold!!
And for some reason, I am against taking any medication besides that cough syrup that knocks you out.

Well, Im another one in the same boat. Ive been inside and going crazy for 4 weeks now and 4 more to go!!!! Crazy how the docs tell you not to take a newborn out until their first set of immunizations at 2 months, that means Im stuck til July 5th! My older two are out of school for the summer and Im about ready to lose my mind. I cant get my exercising in, inside with my dvd's, as all the kids from the neighborhood like to hang out with my boys, though they are typically outside away from the baby, I cant lock the door and keep them out while I exercise either. I cant exercise by walking outside as we are in the rainy season and its been downpouring for almost a week straight now.

I soooo can relate to your situation LJ, atleast yours is almost over soon, hopefully. Think of me when your out and about soon lol.

At present there are no highlights to my days lol. Lonely, boring and getting a bit depressive to say the least. But keeping my chin up as much as possible. Hope you are too

Hope you feel better. What are you reading by Dean K, is it The Taking? Cuz that was soooo good. And What are you reading by Grisham? I read the new one by James Patterson, that was pretty good. Didn't want to spend the bucks for hardcover, but I was bored too. Read it in a day and a half. How about some video games?

Anyhow, hope you will be able to come off of "house arrest" before too long. I've been there too and it is not good.

Missus, I just finished The Broker by John Grisham. It was okay, but I'm glad I got it cheap on half dot com, because it definately wasn't his best work.

I am reading Fear Nothing by Dean Koontz. I just started it today. I got that one, The Taking, and In the Corner of His Eye. I am on a Dead Koontz kick by far, but my favorite yet is Watchers. It was the one that got me hooked.

I have never read and James Patterson, but I think I am going to check him out soon. I have always hear good things.

I hate it that there are so many others stuck at home, too! Its so miserable! At least this place stays pretty busy! ;)

As far as why I'm at home... when the (most recent) ex took a few swings at me, most of them landed in my stomach. I started bleeding pretty bad and had to go to the dr. and it turns out that his punches alerted me to some gynocological problems that I wasn't previously aware of. Nothing major (and nothing contagious... hehe) but I was ordered to REST. Ugh. Tuesday cannot come soon enough!

Oh that's awful LJ. I hope you feel better soon. I'm on house arrest for at least 90 days now. I like Dean Koontz and James Patterson a lot. Have you read John Sanford or Patricia Cornwell? They are my favorites.

That's so funny because The Watchers got me hooked on Koontz too. That's why I bought my Golden Retrievers.

I have just the book recommendation for you. If you liked The Watchers I bet you'll like one I just finished reading. "The Guardian" by Nicholas Sparks. I really enjoyed it, and it's about a Great Dane! :) I bet you'll like it.

I hope you feel better soon.

LJ, is it hard to maintain your weight? I am the one who started about the same time you did...and I am 5ft. I am soooo scared that I am gonna gain the weight back but I gain 1 to 2 lbs and then they go away. But honestly, I haven't been working out but I have been a lot more active around the house since my brain tumor hasn't been acting up. Tumor is small so don't freak out but it will gradually grow, in about 4 years they think they will try to remove it but it is not cancer.

Oh yeah, when the tumor acts up, I am bedridden and man I can eat and eat; I guess just out of comfort or boredom. That is how I got this big in the first place. I plan on putting up pics pretty soon! Will they let you show pics in bra and panties side profiles?

Hey Lowpole, what did the docs say about your tumor?

Pixie, if you read those authors, then you must like Forensic and Cold Case. Cuz, I have read everything written by Patricia C and James Patterson. And I'm about to try to find the one u suggested to LJ. I hope you get better and can get out and about soon too.

LJ. you will absolutely luv Patterson. I'm gonna try your website next time. How are you doing this am?

Missus- I love them. Have you read John Sanford? He writes the Prey series, all of the novels in the series have Prey in the title Winter Prey, Sudden Prey, etc. They are excellent reads. Whenever he or Patricia C. put out a new one it feels like Christmas.

I'll be ok! I can actually leave the house, just can't drive which means I can't work as my job requires driving. At least I can beg rides off of people and go places when I need to but it gets frustrating. I bet you'll love the Sanford novels.

I don't know if you've ever seen it but Patricia C. put out a cookbook. Kay Scarpetta is always cooking those yummy foods in her books, Italian. My Grandma reads those books like crazy so I bought her that cookbook for Christmas last year. She loves it!

No, he did it at his mother's house, of all places, and the crazy woman took my car keys and cell phone out of my car so that I couldn't leave or call the cops.

I think I actually broke one of her fingers getting them out of her hand... but anyway, I haven't heard from any of them since then. I changed my phone numbers.

I called the cops when I got home, but if they don't arrive on the scene and see that one party is visibly hurt, then they can't do anything. I could have filed a report, but he would have just filed one right back on me out of spite, and nothing would have ever come of it.

Now, the EX before him... that's another story. He actually did some jail time and got 2 years probation.

My judgement in men obviously leaves a lot to be desired, huh? Honestly though- they both seemed so normal- I never saw any of the "typical" warning signs that you read about. It was just a one time thing with both. Of course, I cut off all contact after the first time, so I couldn't tell you if they would have done it again.

Hey LJ, missed this one. I ordered the book. Will let you know. Know you are at your new job now, but hope you have a wonderful day today. :heartpump:

Pixie, girl yes. What's scary, is that the Prey books are right here in the Twin Cities. Now why couldn't I have met Lucas Davenport :blabla: j/k. And yes, every time I read about Ms Skarpetta(sp), when she's fixing those delicious delicacies, my mouth waters. Have you looked at the cookbook? Is it complicated? Think I'll check it out. Thanks for the tip.

Have a good one.
