TELL ME TELL ME TELL ME!!!!

I am STUCK at 167.5 !! I've lost a total of close to 20lbs BUT!! All of a sudden I stopped! I never thought I would hit a plateau. I exercise everyday at least 40-45 minutes, I drink water like crazy! I'm at about 1200 calories per day, if I increase my cardio anymore, I'm afraid it may be unsafe or I may burn out.... I'm taking all suggestions!!! How did you beat it? How did you find out what caused it? LET ME KNOW!!! You all are awesome, Thanks :blabla:

Eat more food for a few days. Try giving yourself one day a week where you don't count calories. By upping your cals, your body is like whoa nelly! And does something to your metabolism. Also, your body needs time to get used to the new smaller you. Give it that time. I had a month long plateau. It has to happen, or we pop back on all that weight we used to have. Just keep doing what you have been doing and good luck.

i have plateued after about 25lbs loss. Im not stressing though as i figure i intend to eat this new way forever, so if it takes 12 months to lose the last 17lbs then so be it.
But i have heard that working out how many cals you can have over a week, then breaking it up so somedays you get less cals some days more, but sticking to your allowance per week can really help.

I wish I knew the trick, but I don't.

I have added exercise, added food, ate less, drank more water, worked out more, did pretty much everything... didn't seem to matter much, (except the water and walking more helps a little).

For me, the only answer is to keep going.

Usually after a while, I will suddenly drop a few pounds.

Now I try to judge my loss over months, not days or weeks. This last month I really thought I wasn't losing, but I looked back in my journal and saw I actually lost 4 lbs. or so!

At least you can figure your skin has more time to firm up this way LOL.

My first 30lbs melted right off and as soon as the doctor mentioned a goal weight, the weight loss came to a screeching halt!! I am just now starting to lose again although at a slower rate. Be patient and keep doing the right things and also mix things up a bit and you will start losing again. I find the closer I get to goal, the harder it is to lose. Like Dawn, I am not sweating it - it will come off!!

I hit one...and just stayed positive..continued what I was doing...just be patient...losing will start again...I think sometimes your body needs to adjust to all of the changes...

I know the feeling Cherimee. I lost my first 20 pounds pretty easily, then I hit 167 for almost a full month.

I just tried mixing up what I do. I would take the pill first thing in the morning before breakfast one day, then 2 hours after breakfast the next day. One day I'd work out in the morning, next I'd do it in the evening. I varied my calorie intake (completely ate whatever I wanted one day, even :blabla: ), then the next two days would be salad and good stuff. It took a lot of work, but the scale eventually started moving again.

Hang in there, you've done so well so far, you can't get discouraged now!

Good Luck!

Thanks guys!!! I'm consistantly hearing to 'UP' my calories, I'm almost postive that was the cause.
I definately was not getting enough calories a day ( i'm afraid to admit how many I was taking in :( ) So I took this weekend to give my body a break, I ate at my dad's for the holiday, and the only pill I took was a "Chill Pill" :blabla: I took one day off from the gym ( to have my own little rebellion party :o ) But i'll be back full force on Monday... I Luv you guys! We need to put together a PHEN convention... :D

Just remember, you are now smaller than you were when you first started, so doing the same thing is not going to suffice anymore. Try mixing up your exercise or intensifying it more. Do you currently do weight training in your exercise? If not, you might want to try adding that in and if you do, you might need to up your weights because your body may have gotten use to the current weight you are using and it is not enough resistance.

First though, I would take a small break and just kind of enjoy your smaller self.
