I stopped taking Phen last week because the side effects were just too much for me. Although, it did get better after the first couple of weeks, my body was never able to really adjust to the pills. I am very thankful for the weight I was able to lose with Phen. Weight I was carrying around for years that I didn't have the willpower to lose without it. The few extra pounds I want to lose to reach my goal will have to be acheived completely with will power. And even if I do not reach my goal, I am still happy with what I was able to lose.
My appetite has come back full force, plus more and it is so hard to resist now. I am scared to death to start eating normally because I am afraid that I will gain all the weight back. I would love any tips on how to cope with eating and keeping the weight off after going of Phen. I still have a couple of weeks worth of pills just in case and I haven't cancelled my next appointment, yet. Wish my body weren't so weak and I could continue with Phen. I used Phen for a little over a month in a half and I am already giving up. So Sad!

Have you tried taking the Phen 37.5 mg tablets, and only taking an 1/8 or 1/4 tablet? Thats what I do.... I could never handle a full dose.
I have found that when you stop phen your appetite comes back super strong for a short while, and then gets back to normal. Be careful, you lost that weight so quickly, it can come back on even faster. I quit Phen for 3 months due to wedding, honeymoon , etc, and 9 pounds crept back on in 3 months!!! Now I am bummed but gettign back on track.

Hi Beena,
I was on 15mg. Is that the lowest dosage? I am not sure. My appetite did come back super strong, it seemed I was always hungry. I found myself always staring into that refrigerator. So far I have done okay with my self control. But it has only been a week. I hope things do go back to normal soon. But then my normal appetite was what got me into trouble in the first place.
The weight did come off very quickly, probably too quickly. I haven't even gotten around to buying more fitting clothes. I just hope I don't slowly start to fit back into my old clothes again.
BTW, you look fantastic in your wedding pics. I had to look. Were you at 115 lb in those pictures?
Thanks for the response and Congratulations.

Drink alot of water! That will help fill you up. 15 mg is the lowest dosage of phen. Also, try getting some veggies for your snacking. I know it is hard fighting the munchies but you can do it, just find some things that are low calorie that will help fill you up. You are so close to goal don't let the fat bug beat you :)

Thanks Tia,
I was getting a bit discouraged today and started thinking I should start taking the rest of the pills and keep my appointment for another 2 weeks worth. Doc only gives two weeks at a time to be sure that I am really trying to lose weight. If he doesn't see improvement he takes you off. But I think I need to tackle these extra few pounds on my own. If only to convince myself that I can maintain the weight in the long run. Nope, I am not going to let that Fat Bug beat me. Water is my friend. Thankfully, water has always been my preferred beverage. It is amazing how it really does help curb your appetite, even without Phen.

Hi Tia,
I do think 15 mg is the lowest dosage you can buy.... but I think the 15 mg are the caplets which you can't really divide in half. I have never like the caplets.....for me the side effects ****ed. I found if you buy the 37.5 mg tablets you can cut them up into small pieces, even down to 1/8's if you need and go from there. That is the only way I can do it. I currently take a 1/4 in the morning and then sometimes I will take another 1/4 in the afternoon . However when I started taking them months ago I would take only an 1/8 in the morning and that did me just fine. It is a very low dosage but it was just enough for me. The best part is, its cheap , a bottle of 30 tablets goes a long way, lasts forever !!!
Of course it is better to lose weight without any pills. For me, after years of frustration and litlle luck, I decides to do the Phen. I was so happy with the results. Now I have a hard time imagining losing without. But if you do it without the pills...... try and stay away from sugar and refined carbs, I have found they really stimulate the appetiete.
Good Luck

Hi Miki,
Thanks !!! Actually my dress was a 12.... but they run tiny, I am really a 6 or 8. As far as tips..... I think you should wean yourslef off the phen slowly. Gradually reducing the dosage, maybe using the tablets and breaking them up like I said ??? And then, especially if you have been eating during your weight loss, I would suggest to gradually increase your food to normal. I even think it would be good to go to Weight Watchers and do their maintenance program. Thats what I will do when I reach my goal. My sister (maid of honor(lost 60 pounds 3 years ago...... to keep her weight in check she does the ww maintenace program. She loves it because she can clsely monitor herself by being weighed in weekly, etc. Good luck!!

Funny.....I've been taking Phen 37.5 and I don't even notice a difference in appetite or energy level. :(
Mine are the Eon Labs version. I was hoping it would make me jump up and want to exercise, and get rid of my appetite. Nope.....I don't see a difference at all. I wonder why????

Oops.....sorry, not 37.5. It's Eon Labs 30 mg capsules that I take.
Wonder if I need a bigger strength or take it twice a day????

Beena - your wedding pics are amazing. You looked so beautiful. Fingers crossed I look that good on my big day!
Ash - the best advice that I can give you (along with the good stuff you've already been given) is exercise!!!!!!
It's only been in the past 4 years that I have really had a weight problem. My weight started to climb when I became lazy and didn't exercise.
Find something that you enjoy doing or set yourself some sort of exercise goal (not weight related). My ultimate goal is to be able to run a marathon. At the moment I'm running around 45 minutes 6 times a week and am staying motivated. Each day I strive to run a bit further or a bit faster.
Have faith in yourself that you can do this Ash!
