Here I am, minus about a 10 year old kid one year later and my mother in law and sister in law ran out for Christmas and bought me a lovely sweatsuit. Nice huh? Well it was a jamongous size 3X. So what size did they think I wore at 304? (10X)
I know it is the thought that counts.

LOL!!
Well- my mother in law always gets me size 14 or 16 in a sweater. I'm in a 20-22. Depending on the sweater. So i have alot of nice sweaters that were given to me that are way to little!

Maybe she's trying to encourage me???
She did offer me a dollar for each pound I lose.
Yea, she thinks i'm fat! :)

my mom always buys my stuff too big. but it's not her fault. the last time she saw me was almost 2 years ago. I weighed 20lbs heavier then. I told her I lost weight though...

She bought me an X-Large shirt from Gap. Ok, I am sorry...I was a Large when I was 20lbs heavier. I could fit into a medium if I want my ta-ta's hanging out everywhere....

Could you turn it into a loungin sweatshirt? Ya know...the ones you wear on rainy days curled up on the couch w/ sweatpants on?

Yeah, I was a little offended by a Christmas gift from my BF's, sister in law. I am a size 10/12...M/L. And she isnt that much smaller than me.

What do I get? An XL t-shirt...a cute tee and I like it. But come on, do I really look like an XL? =(

Ya know determined now that I do think of it, my mom and sis did the exact same thing, they both got me x-large sweaters and made me try them on, and guess what they were tooo big! Imagine my surprise when they say oh look at that a perfect fit!!!! Gritting my teeth now that I think if it. My opinion they're in denial!!! They cannot except that i have lost weight and they're jealous!
I was like um, obviously you are all smoking crack or something!! I just smiled and said wooopsseee, my size 10 pants are sliding off!!!!!
Yep, know what you mean!!

Alex felt so bad cuz he got me a bra and underwear for one of my XMAS gifts and they were very nice, but were a size 38C and the underwear was a thong. I don't care how small I am a thong will never be comforable to me. With the 55+ pounds I have lost I must of lost 7 in my boobs. I don't mind though. Alex kept saying how sorry he was that he got me it. He didn't know I would lose so much so I wasn't offended :) My mom got me so XL jammies, but I don't mind those being big and she knew that they would be a little big. I still fit in some XL shirts, depends on what brand. And some large fit me too. I never even try a medium. I bought a large shirt yesterday and it fit but was very tight fitting and I didn't like it so I'm returning it.

(((hugs))) I agree with Miki, they're in denial!!! Some people refuse to see the changes we've made to ourselves b/c they didn't think we could do it. Don't sweat what they think though, it's about how you feel about yourself that counts! :heartpump:

My sister, who is about 100 lbs. heavier than I am asked me if she could borrow my capri pants over the summer. True enough, I hadn't lost 45 lbs. yet, but the thought was shocking. Either she thought that she was much thinner than she was, or that I was waaaaaay heavier than I was. :blabla:

Don't worry sweetie, everyone who has ever had to battle their weight has had to deal with ignorance.

I am laughing so hard I am crying!!! Miki, you just crack me up!! And VA Girl I would of been tempted to say "come on and try them on and see which ones you want to borrow!!" haha Like they would of fit!! :) I was smart this year and asked for gift cards so I could do my own shopping. Is that so terrible? You all are just great! Determined did they give you a gift receipt so that you can return or exchange your sweatsuit?

I posted about this before, but my MIL bought me a size 2X, white, Winnie the Pooh sweatshirt for my birthday in November. Umm, my shirt size is a 14, so I think an XL, or maybe even a large would have been a better choice. I also NEVER wear character clothes, they are just not my thing. I also look like a corpse in white, and most pastels for that matter.

I did finally figure out why she bought something so large for me. I'm closing in on her size and she is either intimidated or in denial.

primgirl you know they only make obnoxious clothing in plus sizes. Ok so I am wearing a 3X what in God's name would make them think that I would want some HUGE flowers on it?
Miki I went through all the jealousy last year. It was because my weight was melting off and everyone just thought I was taking magic pills and when they tried they were just immune. In all reality, they weren't up with me at 6 in the morning at the track. My sister and I actually fell out for a while last year and I feel the underlying reason was my weight loss success. She actually surprised me today I was talking to her on my way to the track and I told her I had to get my lazy butt back on track and she told me that I was "far from lazy".
And Christy of course they didn't give me gift receipts. I hate to think this but I think they really bought this for me on purpose. Spiteful. They know I don't wear no D#mN size 3x. Everyone around knows how much weight I have lost. If I wore a 3X now then I had to wear a 10x at 304. I wear a 16 very comfortably.

I'm so glad nobody ever tries to buy me clothes. There's NO telling what all I'd get. lol
A 3X when you wear a 16 is a bit OFF!

I wonder what makes some people in our lives feel threatened when we've lost weight?? I've gone through this with 2 people since August. It's not like our being fat makes them any thinner.
