Hello everyone.

I have sat here and read all of these posts that are now locked....

This is what I think:

1. The PRESIDENT is NOT responsible for search and rescue/restoration in Lousiana or Mississippi for that matter.

2. The MAYOR and GOVERNOR of these states should have made BETTER preparations. As someone said in another post...if you order/insruct 30,000 people to go to the Superdome...knowing that they don't "have" the basics....(and you know 2 days in advance...keep in mind)...they should have had made arrangements for atleast 3-5 days food/water/whatever else they need in advance before ordering them there. Trust me, they could have made it happen...they had the means.

3. We all new the 3 levees couldn't withhold this storm, and it's unfortunate that people were stuck there for all of those days. EVEN the President said that the states "response" was UNACCEPTABLE. I am not "backing" everything the President does with the U.S. budget either.

THE BOTTOM LINE is that the state of Lousiana did NOT have a plan/organized preparation together for these people.

I am going to tell you the truth right now. And if you don't believe anything else...believe what I am about to say. I have been serving my country for 6 years now on active duty for the United States Air Force, my son's father is in Iraq right now and has been serving the Army for 15 years....(he is black, my son is bi-racial, so please don't call me racist...I love everyone, even you reading this and everyone from foreign countries).

I am a weather forecaster and WE KNEW Katrina was going to hit Lousiana 5 days in ADVANCE~!! FEMA, the National Hurricane Center and the National Weather Service all notified local/state and government agencies WELL IN ADVANCE!!!

The STATE and CITY of N.O FAILED them...NOT THE PRESIDENT!!!

I will be suprised if that Mayor is still in office after all of this...the Governor too. They should have had a better plan in place....and they didn't....

IT ISN'T THE CITIZENS FAULT FOR NOT LEAVING...THAT IS A "KNOWN" FACTOR you will ALWAYS have people behind that chose to stay (it has happened here during Dennis and Ivan).

PEOPLE don't like to leave their homes...

THE STATE AND CITY failed them. The President is the overall man in charge over the 50 "UNITED STATES" meaning every state has their own "mini government" and own laws/systems. He is only one man that overlooks everyone elses decision making.

You want to blame someone? Look to your mayor, governor, and local officials...because they knew WELL in advance.

Not hurting anyone's feelings...not being mean, this is just how I feel.

LOVE ALL OF YOU LADIES!!! and GENTLEMEN TOO!!!

Very well put Juice2640. I also posted on the board and hope that I didn't offend anyone but there are times when you have to face the facts. Its bad because the Governor was very slow. The Mayor could have used the school buses to evacuate everyone, but he can't react unless the governor gives an ok on certain things. I feel that after everything is finished and all of the people in LA are ok, there realy needs to be an investigation. I also feel that the Mayor is partially responsible, but I feel that the Govenor is totally responsible for a lot of what happened!! I just can't understand why they would they tell people to go to the superdome and have absolutely nothing to eat!! What were they thinking.

But anyway I could go on and on with this subject. I am going to say I hope I didn't offend anyone but when I feel for something, I have to let it out. I have my opinions just as everyone else.
Hope everyone has a good day

:)

Who cut the Corp of Engineers budget every year so that the levy could not be repaired to withstand stronger hurricanes?

Juice, where are you going with this??? First you said that the reason that the people in NO aren't getting any help from the federal government is because they are black, woo woo woo. Now you say that it is not the federal government, but the mayor(who is black) and the governors fault...woo woo woo, yada, yada,yada...Just leave it alone.

This topic is old, and you already posted how you feel on the main phen forum...if you keep bringing this up, things are only going to get heated again...so leave it alone
