Does anyone know where they are accepting clothing donations? The Red Cross said they only accept monetary donations, and so did Catholic charities. My household has tons of clothes for 3-4 girl and 5-6 boys that is just sitting. Also plenty of mens and womens; even some kids shoes

i tried google and found this site looking at your locatiion. it may help some. from what i hear, the salvation army is taking special donations for hurricane victims and giving clothes away free to them rather than the charging the really small fee they usually do.

Hi Gemmy-

If you are willing to ship your items I have a friend that would appreciate any donation you can give them. You can PM me for info. Also, I know locally here we have a bunch of schools and churches that are collecting the items and then shipping them off to several areas in the South or bringing the donations by semi-truck to deliver.

I know in my area the Salvation Army is accepting clothing that is in good condition. We are expecting 4 airplanes full of people here tomorrow and they will be giving to them once they arrive.

From what I understand - they have having a hard time finding storage and manpower to deal w/the truckloads of items thats why they are stressing the importance of sending money (for now).

Really Monifa???? I "moved" several rather large boxes to the Post office today for V's friends...

I know what you are...an instigator...i feel really bad for you that you have nothing better to do than to stir up trouble everyday...you really need to get a healthier hobby....

edited to say....

I do not know anyone, associate with anyone or have anyone in my family that would even think for a moment to make up a "ploy" about 14 people's lives being completely destroyed by a hurricane to get used donations from people....In fact I have never even heard of people doing this...well that was until now.
