Just took my resting heart rate and it was 104 beats per minute. The web site where I took my heart rate (had a place to click once I found my pulse, then click again once I counted 20 beats, then it figured my beats per minute for me) popped up a message that this is a dangerous resting heart rate. So I took some deep breaths to calm down, then tried again. 98 beats per minute this time.
Is this a side effect of phen?
It has been several days since I took any phen. Went camping and didn't take it with me. Didn't want to risk my mom finding it and being all mad at me. I'd be in big trouble even though I'm in my 30s. She would startin on me about risking my health and not being there for my child.
Anyway, this high resting heart rate has me concerned.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Is it dangerous for me to exercise with a heart rate this high? I'm doing Oxycise which is a no-impact, deep breathing video. Love it. Feels great. No jumping around. But is it wise to elevate an elevated heart rate?
I don't have health insurance right now because I have gone back to college full-time so I am nervous about this. I order phen online instead of seeing a dr, although one of the dr's at my school clinic went to high school with me and I could probably go see her about this and it wouldn't cost too terribly much.

HI. I'm a nurse. I didn't read any of the other replies to you about this, but it sounds as if you're concerned, and you should be, but, Phentermine, is a medicine that will speed up your heartrate, and it causes rapid pulse. I have to take Actifed, to keep my nose from draining into my sinuses, and Actifed, as my doctor said, will keep my ears from plugging up. My resting pulse is pretty fast. Your body will addapt to your pulse, and like you said, when you calmed down, your pulse slowed down. Have you had your blood pressure checked? Maybe, f you havne't you should. But, yes, it very well, probably is the Phentermine that is causing your heart rate to be so fast. Maybe you need a lower dose. Watch your caffiene, too, though, I am hypocritical for saying that. Caffiene and phentermine work toagether, but, unless you're prepared to be constatnly running around, looking for stuff to do, and prepared to be productive, then, I'd not drink any thing with caffiene in it. Caffine is contraindicated with Phentermine. I hope this helps you just a little. I don't have my drug book handy, or I'd qoute from it.
I might get in trouble if I say anymore, and I don't want to get in trouble, just from quoting my drug book. If you want a private message, I'll tell you more about Phentermine in your email. I like it, actually. It has really worked well for me.

Thanks for the info. Yes, I suppose I should go have my blood pressure checked out. When I was getting phen from a dr here in town, she would check my blood pressure when I went in. But then I ordered it online and haven't been in to see her since then. Good idea to check.
I was just afraid that if I exercised with my resting heart rate this high, my heart rate would skyrocket and it would be a bad thing.
Thanks again.

I was looking for this exactly- I just noticed that my heart rate was 124 (after walking to my office from my car at a lazy pace), and is now at resting rate 117. I do not drink coffee or tea (except herbal tea w/o caffeine) or caffinenated soda (only Sprite occasionally). I have been on Phentermine (30mg once a day) for almost a month. I did skip a day about once a week, but I have not missed at all for 2 weeks. My weight loss has been very slow, about a pound a week and I am eating about 800 calories a day or less and exercising (45 minutes walking at a 4% incline on the treadmil at 4 miles per hour 4-5 days a week at lunchtime). I weigh 146 now (began at 153 8 weeks ago, started Phentermine at 150 four weeks ago), and realistically want to get to 125 (I am 5 feet, 2 inches tall). I have noticed my heart rate has increased, but 117 & 124 seem pretty high!! I have been getting dizzy often in the afternoon, which I thought may just be a side effect, but with the fast heart rate I am more concerned. Also I seem to be getting a little short of breath this week, during my workouts it seems to be harder to breathe at the same intensity level and just sitting is harder to get a deep breath. Does anyone else have these problems? I am concerned that it may be a health risk-any maybe I should get off this stuff. (My doctor gave the prescription to me without me asking for it). And what will happen to my heart rate if I workout and it is already 30 beats lower that my ideal range for exercising?
Help!!

I have been on Phen for 2 mo. and just this last week I have notices a very high heart rate. I do cardio for an hour everyday and yesterday my heart rate jumped up to 204 in the middle of my work out, I got a head ache and have been feeling a tight sinsation in my left side of my upper chest along with that every one and a while a sharp pain on the right side under my lower ribs...What could this be? Is it safe to do cardio with Phen?? My restering heart rate is 115 to 135. My bp has been high a little for the last two days, something just does not feel right... Has this happen to anyone else?

Hey everyone!! was just reading all your messages and sounds like you all are very concerned and you should be!! I am no dr or nurse but I do work in a hospital and I no that these are all really high heart rates!! and I would recommend talking to your doctors...phen isnt for everyone and can cause serious heart problems and also can cause high blood pressure....The other thing YOU should NEVER order phen or any other meds online as it is very illegal not to mention you dont no 100% sure that what u ordered is phen! It could be anything! and you need to be under a dr supervision while on such meds as phen! Your life is worth so much more then to lose weight and have health problems especially with your heart so take care of yourself and talk to your dr about these effects you are having! There is another thread on here you all should read....Its CALLED read before ordering phen online.....I may be a little off on the title but close enough...you for sure should read it...I will try to find it and bump it so u can see it at top....also There was another thread on here where a lady was having her heart raceing really fast went to ER and they had to stop and re start her heart....I will try to find that thread as well....I am not trying to scare noone or discourage you but just tryng to help u understand that you should never take anything ordered offline and without being under a dr care!!!!! Good luck on your weight loss journeys and I hope you get to feeling better!!!!! TaZ
