OK, has anyone ever heard of this? I have been on the phen for about 1 1/2 weeks now. I get absolutely NO effects what so ever from it, except possible a dry nasty tasting mouth. I have increased to 2 - 37.5 tabs at the same time and still nothing. I am very disappointed and very upset to say the least. I even spent the big bucks and ordered the brand name stuff "Adipex" because I was afraid to order generic off the internet. (afraid it might not be what it was supposed to be) Now after spending close to $300 for 90 pills, I feel like it was a total waste of money. Anyone have any suggestions or ever heard of this before? Thanks! Lisa

Hey I don't know that I will be much help but I too haven't felt the effects of Phen I am on the adipex as well. Do you take it in the morning about 45 min before you eat? I heard drinking a lot of water also helps.

I am sorry I can't be more of a help, but I wanted to let yo know you are not alone.

Wow, others with no effects at all! I'm not alone! My 1st try on Phen, last year was going great, lost 30lbs. Side effects were the usual, nothing I couldn't live with, most were the good kind anyway.(energized, kind of speedy.) Then I began to have chest pains and got scared. I stopped. Dr. says its not the Phen, don't worry. Present day: re-gained the weight, desperate, starting Phen again. NO EFFECTS. I too am disappointed, cause it worked before. Not giving up yet! Try giving it more time, and let me know.

Whoops, forgot to date my reply in "no effects at all??!!!" Not sure if my update will work.
After 2 wks. on Phen with no effects I feel like I may be getting some help from it. Am I delayed or what??

I thought I was the only one that was feeling NOTHING on the Adipex. Yes I paid the big bucks for 90 and thought I would be well on my way to my slim trim new bod. I am very disappointed. I am looking all over the internet for answers, so far all I see is that Adipex stops working after awhile. I had taken adipex in the past and they worked well. I also started to take 2 a day. It seems like such a waste. I am gonna stop and start up again after a week or so. Maybe my neurotransmitters are depleted, I'll let you know. I also tried bontril, but that did nothing. Maybe tenuate? has anyone tried that?

Back again, I surfed and found out a few things about phentermine. I must've been taking it for too long, (its my 2nd month) and my neuro transmitters must be depleted. If I stay off the phen for a couple days and take l tyrosine (an amino acid) and 5htp, the neurotransmitters should be up and running again. Hopefully. Did anyone else ever try the amino acid supplements? I am going to give it a go. I really need this to work for me. More later :)

I have never taken the phen before. Could my neuro transmitters (whatever the heck THEY are!) be depleted on their own?

Neurotransmitters such as dopamine and serotonin etc keep the brain functioning, l-tyrosine is a natural occuring non essential amino acid that helps the body and brain make dopamine and 5htp is an amino acid that helps to make seritonin. Adipex and other things like stress, etc can deplete us and we need to make sure we are replacing them by eating right but sometimes, like when we are dieting, we dont eat right. You can get amino acids naturally by eating high protein foods, too. I have just been so frustrated about not losing any weight, I decided on my own to take the additional supplements. They are working, I feel the phen is kicking in again. I also take a multiple vitamin and extra vitamin b complex. I also read that l-lysine helps to keep the hair from falling out and to add 1000 mgs of calcium is good too. Thats a lot of pills! And good news, I cut my adipex back to 1 a day instead of 2. I have to say I am not hungry, thank GOD. :p

I, too, don't feel anything! I just took my first Phen 37.5 mg tab this morning. Nothing. Nada. Zilch. I don't even feel my hunger suppressed. :( I'm really practicing willpower, though! I took Tenuate Dospan years ago and it made me feel kind of jittery, but it also kept me from eating. Recently, I was on Meridia 15 mg for 2 months. I like the way that felt. It didn't give me the jitters, and yet it worked on the serotonin and "told my brain" it wasn't hungry. I had some dry mouth, which was good, 'cuz I drank more water. Well, I couldn't afford the Meridia anymore, so I switched to Phen after hearing such good things here! I'm taking Amide brand tabs 37.5 mg. Is one day not long enough to know if it will work yet? I bought TWO months worth (my MD called that much in), so I sure hope they won't go to waste!!! Reassure me, please!

Yea! Finally, after almost 3 wks on Phen I am feeling like they are working again. Still no side effects, nothing wrong with that. It's still easy to "break through" and have a binge, but knowing there is no "magic pill", I still work at it all through the day. Work, Work, Work.

hi, i recently went back to my Dr. for a follow-up after being on Phen for a month. I had lost 14 lbs, and who knows how many inches, I wasn't measuring! Anyways He went over my thyroid screening and told me that I was on the very edge of having a thyroid problem and since it was on the edge it didn't show up. He gave me snythroid to take with the phen to help my metabolism and I can tell a difference in my energy just from taking these together. You might ask your Dr. about that. have you ever had your thyroid tested? Also, about these side effects, if you are not having them I think that's great. I have a few of them, especially the dry mouth, which even with as much water as I drink everyday I still cannot seem to quench my thirst. I say keep taking it and drinking the water, give it a chance to work and not worry about the side effects if you are not having any! That's a good thing!
Also some of you say that you take 2 37.5 pills at a time, taking 2 at a time will not speed up weight loss, it will only make you run out faster and have to buy more sooner!
Good luck!
