Am I taking too much?

I started taking Phen (8 mg 3x a day) back in 1996 about 2 months before my wedding and lost 31 pounds (from 162 to 131). Well, needless to say, after the wedding I kicked the pills and the exercise regimen. The weight came back...BIGTIME!

I foolishly waited until 98 to get back on Phen. Well, by this time I weighed 189lbs!!! My doctor decided to up the dosage to 15 mg twice a day. I hated it. I felt so sick and horrible. So bad that I just gave up after a week and vowed never to take them again.

Well, I started on them again about 2 weeks ago 183lbs. My doctor informed me that he no longer had the 8 mg tabs and that I would have to continue with 15 mg twice a day. I was hesitant but decided to try. Well my friends, to make a LOOONNNNGGGG story short...they didn't work!!! My appetite was in full force!!! So I decided to take two 15 mg twice a day...making it a whopping 60mg a day. I haven't consulted this with my doc because my weigh in isn't for another 2 weeks.

I have NO appetite and I don't feel that bad actually. A little gittery, dry mouth, etc., but no difference from when I was on it the very first time at 8 mg.

Has anyone had this type of experience?!? Curious to know.

I'm no expert, but I've not heard of anyone taking this much. Seems like an awful lot! Could you at least cut back to 45 (15 mg. 3x daily) so we don't worry so much about you exploding or something? Then, Monday, call your doc and discuss this. There are other brands of phen on the market. Everyone seems to have their particular favorite. Although the active ingredient is the same, the fillers and binders are different - and people have different reactions to them.

I'm on the generic 30 mg. blue and white capsule, and it works quite well for me - but others prefer the brand name Adipex, or the Amide, and a few even prefer Purepac. I say "even" because some people have had horrible experiences with the Purepac, and many others report that it simply does nothing for them.

Check this site for pictures of the pills, so you know what you have. The pics here aren't too clear - you may have to search the web for better photos. There are some out there.

Well, I agree that that much Phen sounds pretty scary, but I really don't feel that bad. I didn't think of doing a 3x a day dosage though. Maybe that'll work.

Oh, and btw, I take the gray/yellow caps.

Welcome wanna be , I like Nal felt like you might be going overboard at the amount your taking. I know you want it to work but isnt it a little much. I'm from a generation that thought nothing of the drugs put into the body but this is rather a large dose. For your own good cut back. Were all willing to help just let us know what you need. Just please be careful of the amount of phen your using. Take Care
