Okay, if anyone knows what the heck happened to me yesterday PLEASE let me know...I'm really freaked out!!!

Yesterday I was sitting in the living room and out of nowhere...I mean INSTANTLY I couldn't see anything. There were wavy lines and geometric blinking shapes all over my whole field of vision. There was also a large gray circle on the left side of my field of vision. The only part that was clear was the very lower right corner.

I've never had any eye problems or anything...don't even wear glasses...or need them. This lasted about 30 mins and then slowly went away. I went to look at my eyes in the bathroom mirror but I couldn't even see them...it was soooooo scary!!

My step-mom said that she saw wavy lines once when she had a migraine, but I've never had a migraine...I didn't have a headache nor did my eyes hurt at all...just couldn't see.

Does anyone know what might have happened...or if it could be from the phen??

Thanks,
Melissa

Melissa, Don't know anything about your medical history and don't want to scare you,but I would check with my DR. Sometimes you can have floaters in your eyes- no big deal, but a vision problem could suggest other things too. Like stroke or TIA(mini stroke). I'm not a med professional, but phen can cause high blood presure. To be safe, I would call your doc. Hope everthing is OK .Tish

Get thee to your doctor or eye doctor. Sometimes these things are nothing - other times they can catch something in it's early stage when there is time to do something about it!! At least call - right away.

Well, shortly after starting phentermine, I had the same eye problem. Everything went fuzzy and I couldn't see out of my left eye. I assumed it was the phentermine. Apparently, it was, haven't had a problem since. I do check my b/p every week. Are you?

Like the above post recommends, go see your DR. Don't be afraid, everything will be OK.

Marian,
Was your eye problem due to your BP from the phentermine?? I haven't had my BP checked...my doctor just told me to come back in 1 month to re-check...I only have 6 pills left. What did your doctor say about it?? Are you still taking the phen??

Thanks,
melissa

Lizard - I don't want to scare you. Have you called your Dr. yet? Just call and run it by someone before the weekend. If you don't, and you're at all like me, you'll worry all weekend. Not good! Let us know what they say.

My blood pressure is fine. When you take phentermine, you should check your b/p every week. Walmart, and most any pharmacy will check it. I would see if your DR. can see you just to make sure everything is ok. Like Nal said the weekend can be long. Don"t worry!!!!!

Paula,

I never heard of floaters. What are they?

floaters are little strings or bits of protein floating in the gelatinous portion of your eyeball. They are annoying, but not a problem. You can see them in certain lighting situations, or if you look at a light blank space. I have them. Hate them, but they no longer worry me.

Nal,
I have a couple of those too, but with this, my whole field of vision was messed up. I couldn't see anything...even when not looking at a wall. I couldn't even see my face in the mirror. This was more like patterns of lines and designs flashing and waving...definitely not like floters. So bad that I had to lay down and close my eyes...and called my mom to come home from work (because I thought I was going blind or something). I'm going to call the DR. on Monday. I know I should have done it sooner.

Thanks so much everyone,
Melissa
