Has anybody had this side effect?

Hi, I'm kind of new to this board here. I've been on adipex for about 3 weeks now; I take 1/2 pill in the am and the other 1/2 around 3pm. I've been on and off adipex for the last 3 years, and can't recall ever having this side effect: Constipation!

I'm sorry to be so gross, but before adipex, I used to be like clockwork. Now, after 3 weeks of taking adipex, this past week I haven't had a bm for 4 days!! What's up with this? Do I need to start taking a laxative? I've been eating and drinking like I'm supposed to, but haven't had to go!

Any suggestions?

I personally havent had this problem, but it is listed as a side affect untill your body gets use to the medicine. Also, some people who do low-carb(me) have this problem-but it never has effected me this way-I go all the time! LOL anyway-just hang in there-keep drinking the water-and eventually"this too shall pass" (sorry-had to) Cindy

It just so happens that I talked to my doctor about this yesterday. She recommended taking Metamucil daily. I only have a mild case, though, so I'm not sure it would work in more severe cases.

I had a problem before phentermine! Oatmeal did the trick for me then and NOW!!!

Hey, I like oatmeal! Sounds much better than the Metamucil. Maybe I'll try that instead.

OR - try two Fibercon tablets each day. Much easier to take than Metamucil. Costco has a generic that's good, and cheaper.
