I quit my job today. I realized that i could stay at home with the kids and not be any worse off financially because of the benefits we are entitled to now that we are one income and dont own a home any more.
The kids are really happy and it means i can be a full time mum again....im very happy with the decision.
I can also now devote more time to exercise!! im i dont have the same stress now with juggeling a job and 6 kids (not to mention the hubby and housework!!)
JUST SHARING!!! lol :)

Hooray for you!! I've been home with my kids since they were born, and I've never regretted it. (OK - there were a few days when I begged my husband to let me go to the office for him). We did without some extras, and lived in a rather small house for years longer than we would have if I had worked, but I really think it's been worth it.
I don't know the ages of your kids, but I really believe that they need a parent at home in their teen years as much as when they were little. My boys have so many friends who go home to empty houses. They seem so sad - they always want to come here.
I truly applaud you Dawn.

You go! Do what you feel is right in your heart. If you can stay home then that is great. Parents need to be there as much as they can. I think it is a good thing.

That is GREAT! Congratulations!! Even though it must feel kind of scary to be quitting your job (and paycheck), talk about reaping rewards in the long run!! I can't even begin to imagine how you juggled everything with so many kids. You get a gold star today!!!

That is fantastic! I don't have kids yet, but would love to be a stay at home mom. Unfortunately, we're barely scraping by now with 2 incomes. Of course, I'm just a bartender, and I'm in school. I'm planning on teaching 1st grade, which will at least have me home summers and I'll have the same hours they do once they're in school! When we do decide to start having kids (probably about 5 or 6 years from now), if I'm teaching we're gonna shoot for May-June due dates so I'd be off for the first 3 months at least ----- but how often can folks actually control that! LOL
Anyhow, Dawn, Congratulations! That is truly a wonderful thing -- to be home with your beautiful children! :D

Jayspook - We were aiming for May with both of ours. First one was born in July, second one in March. :)

Congrats Dawn, I know if I had 6 kids I'd have to stay home. OMG I can't image...work and dealing with six. I have three and the run me ragged. (oh but I love it) I'm glad for you.
