i was so glad to see your response in tony's post. we do not do this because we like it, or we have no self respect, or we need a further education in healthy eating. i know WHAT to do, it's a matter of being able to do it. that is why i love this forum and you people so much, because you understatnd. i come from a long line of thin people who just say, well, just stop eating. as if i haven't tried about a million times. as if it were that easy. i don't mean to be so down and depressing, it's just that i had a setback over christmas trying to do it without phen, and i'm really discouraged. thanx again nal.

I know this wasn't to me... but jbaby, have you ever read The Diet Cure by Julia Ross? I've just read it and WOW to some of the information. She says that in her opinion overweight people have the best willpower on the planet... it's just that the brain chemicals that drive the urge to eat are stronger than herion addiction. (Of course she explains it more scientifically). And also, that often overweight people eat much less than normal weight people... which is a cause and effect for the extra weight (because of going into starvation mode).

That all may not be news to anyone... but reading this info has motivated me to change. Of course the author doesn't recommend diet pills, she explains about amino acid deficiencies that can be supplemented.

I just need the extra kick from the phen to get started. *sigh* But so far so good. Taking phen makes me feel like a normal person for a change.

Thanks jbaby - I do agree with you. And as Kaykay said, the phen just makes me feel like a normal person for once. That's what makes me sad.....I know I can't take it forever, but I would so like to have a normal relationship with food. What to do, what to do?

They've figured out that brain chemistry causes mental illness of all sorts -- when will they admit that we have a brain chemistry problem too? I KNOW there has to be some truth in that. I just KNOW it.

Isn't it sad? In our society its preferrable to be a heorin addict because asthetically you're more pleasing. Heroin makes you thin! Drug addicts and alcoholics get more sympathy and acceptance than someone who has a problem with food. Go figure! We are good people!

it is so great to not be alone! just like nal said, phen makes me feel normal. WHY??? it HAS to be something chemical, because only a chemical is controlling it. i want to eat normally, and be healthy, and look good. without phen, i just don't know. oh well, life's rough i suppose....
