ok you guys.....i got rates of like 6 different hotels but we are going to have to see now who is rooming with whom because we are all going to need to make reservations ASAP....some places are already sold out! So if you would like to help me out and tell me who wants to room with whom it would be greatly appreciated as soon as possable.....i dont care who i room with so its up to ya'll!!!

ohhhh ps everyone i got the rates of the hotels and the best one i think we should take is the Ramada Plaza Downtown.....its 110$ per night which is a special....3 stars...closer to san fransisco/union square..and the best looking one quality wise

or

cathedral hill which is also 3 stars, $127 per night, located in downtown san fran. and thats a 15% off because we would be staying 2 nights..... they both are ok with me but i need your gals/guys opinions on which ones to choose!

I just looked on Expedia and for the weekend of July 23-25 (?) The rate on the Cathedral Hill was $84.00 and the rate on the Ramada was $98. The Parc 55 rate was $127. The Hilton was $139.

Cathedral is several blocks from Union Square. The Ramada is a bit closer.

My suggestion. If a lot of people are going to be doubling up then my only suggestion would be to get the most hotel you can afford. If you are paying under $100 in downtown San Francisco there is a reason. :) And if 2,3, or 4 people are going to split the cost then it might mean only a $20 difference that will make for a LOT more enjoyable and memorable trip. Nothing worse than knowing you have to go back to a crummy hotel.

I'm not saying stay at the Mark Hopkins or anything, but there is a lot in between.
These few hotels are all within stumbling distance of an 8 story Macy's.
Parc 55, Pan Pacific, Westin St. Francis, Hilton, Nikko.

Just make sure you read some reviews before you decide.

Thanks Cali- I'm all for getting more bang for my buck! I don't like cheap hotels. I've stayed in them way too much. Plus, I don't want to go all the way to San Francisco, California to stay in a Motel 6. I agree with you, the hotel is definatley going to make it a more enjoyable and memorable experience. Plus, there is enough time from now til then to save a little extra to get the nice one! Thanks again!

I'm not a hotel snob (okay maybe a little) but I also don't want to be rooming across the hall from Huggy Bear and his Hoes.

Actually the 2 Shortie picked out don't sound that bad. Just being my usual obnoxious self. However, if we're doubling up anyway then we might as well get the nicest place we can afford. If you ask me I say if there's enough of us that we step up for the suite. Might pay a grand a night, but that's not a lot different than paying $150 a night for 7 or 8 rooms.

It totally depends. Some "suites" are only one bedroom with a sitting area. But most suites are 2 bedrooms. They are not exactly designed to "sleep" a dozen people. That's what the extra room next door is for. The suite is merely the central party area. ;)

Stop getting all excited it's rubbing off! I just checked out Expedia's rates. I found a flight from Boston to Oakland for $332. Not REALLY a great deal cuz I'd have to drive to Boston airport, and ya'll know I live in Maine about 4 hours away. Expedia wouldn't accept my local airport Bangor International. That's when you know you live in the sticks. I still dunno though...there's a changeover in D.C. I just want to get on in Boston and get off in California, and someone better be waiting for me! I'm like a friggin' chihuahua when it comes to crowds. I'd probably come off the plane two sheets to the wind with piddle running down my legs.

I'm getting a room at the Renaissance Parc 55 Hotel and I'll be arriving in around 5:00 (I think).

Before I book the flight.... Do I need to include the transportation to and from the airport, ($26.00) or should I just wait until I get to San Fran and figure it out then??

This is going to be a BLAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Becky- I'd like to stay at the Renaissance Parc 55 HOtel too. It's really nice and we can get great deals on the rooms there. Plus it's right in Union Square I think. For round trip ticket, 2 nights stay and a ride to and from the airport, it'll only be like 550 for me. BigD is getting a good deal also. Go check out Expedia.com and let us know what you think!

BigD- I'm getting the trans to and from the hotel in my package b/c I don't want to have to worry about a thing once I get there! Plus, I'm pretty sure we'd spend that much on a cab anyway. BTW, I'm DEFINATELY IN! I'm going today to get a job. I asked my honey last night if he'd go ahead and pay for it for me and make the reservations and I'd pay him back w/ the money I get from my new job- LOL! He said that he probably would... I think he wants to make sure I'm gonna pay him back though. He's trying like hell to save up for a new car and I'm always wanting him to dip into his $ to get me some clothes or contacts or friggin tanning bed visits! LOL! Anyway, it shouldn't be a problem. I'm definately in, just not sure when I'm going to be able to pay for reservations. I'll know by the end of the week. Also, are you rooming with anyone? I wouldn't mind rooming w/ someone at all. Although the suite sounded cool, I want to be able to lock myself in my room if one of you turns out to be a psycho. LOL!

I think once we figure out when everyone is coming in we can arrange the ride sitution. From where I am coming from I could easily go by the airport and pick people up. So between, Britt, Amy, myself, we shouldn't have any problem getting anyone from the airport to the hotel.

Also....there is shuttle service every half hour from the airport directly to the hotel. It is $13 each way, but it may help fill in if need be.
