We just finished week 5! How is everyone doing??
Im feeling a bit punchy myself! Nothing like having to get up at 3am just to get in your workout before you head off for the day!

I have been bad about posting. Im not good at having to put down every day what I do, guess that is why I find food journaling a real pain and end up lasting about a day and then say screw this, I just dont have time!

Anyway I have been doing my workouts, adding in walking daily. I have the luxury of being able to sleep in if I wish but I set the alarm and drag my butt out of bed at 5 or 530 6 days a week. I have gone from walking about a mile to walking/jogging 2 miles a day. I alternate.. walk some then jog some then walk..etc. In 2 days I will finish the first 30 days of Power 90. I could not wait so took my measurements today. Ill do the official ones in 2 days but 2 inches off my hips, 2 inches off my waist, 3 inches off thigh, and 1 inch in the chest.. so back really.. in just ONE short month!

Other changes I have noticed.. I fall asleep so much easier. I find getting out of bed in the morning easier, Im not tired all day.

I am one that really, really hates exercise. I do love the results. I become obsessed if Im not careful. The more results I get the more I want and push harder and harder and then burn myself out. But on the other side, if I dont see results I will give up. I also get bored very easily. I have a collection of work out tapes to prove this.

Anyone thinking about exercise but just cant seem to get motivated, give yourself just 1 month. commit to that month. Weigh on day one, take photos of all sides, measure, then put it all in a safe place and ignore it for the next 30 days. Dont get on that scale, dont measure, just focus on your exercise program. Take it easy at first, work yourself up, feel yourself getting stronger. At the end of the month, do it all again, weigh, measure, etc. You might not see a big change in the scale so the measurement part is important. You can also do a body fat percentage at the beginning and then again in 30 days. See where you are. You might be surprised. Now that you completed one month, why not challenge yourself to another month? Hey that first 30 days is over so cant be hard to whip out another 30 days right? Give it a shot and see. What do you have to loose.. maybe a few inches!

Been working out and just not seeing results anymore? Might be you need to make some changes. The body will get used to the exercise program, so over time you are going to have to find new ways to challenge your body to respond.

Dont make your expectations unrealistic. Set real, attainable goals. Maybe take the focus off the weight and more on the health issue. If you are pushing yourself, even just 30 minutes a day, you are getting stronger, healthier, and in time you will see your body start to change. One day you will find you can now fit in that pair of pants that were too tight before, or zip those jeans without needing a pair of pliars.

We have just over 5 months left till cruise. I dont care what you weigh but I want to see some healthy folks. I want to see you taking those stairs on that ship without looking like you are going to pass out. Lets kick butt!

Challenge yourself to do this and do it now!

Great advice Nitra!
Wish I had taken measurements before I started doing all these crunches everyday. Though as soon as I get off the computer I will do so for future reference.
All I can tell you right now is...I know they are working. Caught a glimpse of myself in a full-length mirror yesterday (I do not own one nor do I want one until I am closer to goal) and did notice my belly is smaller.
Plus I can pull my stomach in and hold it in a lot longer than I used to. And I am getting more definition to my waist.
Also, put on a pair of last year's shorts today. Thankfully they have a drawstring waist or they would prob'ly be on the floor.
Naturally, this is all great motivation to stick with it even when I am not really in the mood.

Ellen that is great! You are going to have to do something about clothes soon or you will be mooning everyone! Tigerlily might get embarrased if you do that.

Just think of all the Labor Day sales you will be able to hit and get new goodies for a new you!

I've decided no new clothes for awhile yet. Well, maybe a couple things from the local thrift shop but that's it.
I plan to spend lots of time in the pool this summer...so no problem there. I have swimsuits in three sizes here plus always where a T-shirt over them (even in the pool) so between those and my caftans, drawstring shorts and lots of baggy T's I can get by for awhile. I am saving my meager clothes budget for the end of summer sales when I will be getting Cruise Clothes!! :D
With a little luck and a lot of hard work I hope to be in an 18-20 by then. Not totally unfeasible since I am in a baggy 26/just a smidge too snug to bend over in 24 now.

I'd love to buy clothes for the cruise, but if I lose the weight and get back to 195, h e l l even 210 then all my awesome clothes from last summer will fit and I LOVED them..

NO no no buying clothes now! Wait! September is the time to get them. The Labor day sales! End of Summer sales!

You really dont even need much. You think you do but in reality you wont need as much as you think. I always over pack, always have, always will I guess. I think I went thru a time for about a year that I was really good at packing but now I always think, what if the weather changes, what if I spill, what if I rip something, what if... what if... LOL. Oh well I like to be prepared!

Hey folks....Sorry I have neglected you guys lately but I have been so unmotivated and at times just feel like giving up...then I read something about trying a program for 30 days...Thanks Nitra
I think we need to start a 30 day challenge and do what you said with the measurements and no weighing...Hell I can do anything for 30 days!!!!!
I'm gonna measure in the a.m. No way I'm measuring tonight

Lets do it Luv! We can have a mini challenge inside the bigger one! This way too it does not seem so over whelming. I got the idea from the Power 90 program. You measure and weigh and do a body fat percentage thing every 30 days.. oh and take the photos. So you just focus on that 30 days.

I was watching dateline tonight and there was a gal on there that was doing the extreme exercise. When she started out she could only walk run combo for 2 miles...brisk walk then run.. brisk walk then run.. 12 weeks later.. she is running 12 miles straight! Her goal.. to run in the Maui Marathon 23 miles.

Hey girls sorry I haven't been here but I've been pretty busy and will be like that for a while. I promise once I get all the graduation stuff and end of the year junk out of the way I will be here more often. I keep telling myself I better get busy because the cruise is going to be here before I know it.
