Ok yall the cruise is only 6 months 18 days away.

this means that every day you put off getting in gear is one day less you have till the cruise!

Now if you find you are having a hard time starting, try this, instead of doing a lot at one time, like improving eating, increasing water, exercise. Try taking it one item a week. So this week work on the water, next week the eating then focus on the exercise.

For me this worked. I can make the changes better. I have the water down, actually drinking more than the 64oz a day I committed to, eating much improved! and this week I have done 2 hrs of exercise already! I committed to 3 hrs a week.

How is everyone doing??

Hey! I have been doing the Atkins Induction with some of the other Phensters. I have been very happy with the results I've seen so far! I have 13 lbs to go until I'm in Onderland! I hope that htey come off as quickly as the first 20 have. If I continue to losee this weight at such a fast pace I will be at my goal weight (155) by June. I don't expect that my total weight loss will be that quick so I'm shooting for late July to August. Shux even if I were to get to 165-170 I would be SOOO happy! :spider_red:

so far so good even with suffering through pms the last few days. but the constant working out really helps...couldn't get to the gym yesterday as i was recording most of the day - then i was wiped out (yes, talking for a living can be rough! ;) )...up this morning and sweating it out on the eliptical...a few more days until weights are added.

Keep it up girls! We have not heard from John! Also skinny twister and luvmyboxerpup have not reported. Let me see.. Fay is starting in April. Course those gals that went to Nashville might still be recovering.

well i lost a few pounds but i think it's all the crud that was in my head. i have been slack in the exercise dept. but since i was sick i let myself slide :D still drinking the water!!!!

It's wednesday and I just awoke from my coma this a.m. from these party people being here in my house!!!! My Gawd...can those ladies party!!!!
I did my first spinning class this morning...
OMG it kicked my hiney...but I cant wait til the next one which is Friday a.m.....cant tomorrow cause of my sons track schedule and oh yea I have to work...

Iyree---I can hardly believe you're not in onederland...I guess when I gain...my face is the first for me :rolleyes: ...

OK now we have Luv out of her coma and back to the land of the phen. Hotmama is getting better. Good idea not to exercise while sick, your body needs the energy to heal. Just take it easy and work your body back into the swing of things.

I know PA is working herself. She is gonna be the kick butt queen on this thing if we dont watch out!

Fay will be joining us soon. Once she is over her treatments.

Stacy you are doing great.. can you go over and drag Spydie out and get her going?? Where is she??

Holpak?? where are you woman?? Back from your beer induced coma yet??

i dunno!? haven't heard.

BAD workout today - painful...didn't "feel" it...but hey, it's done - burned a few calories.

anybody see john travolta on oprah? he eats whatever he wants and works out like a crazy person...might be worth it!! ;) kidding...sorta. :D

on my 5th glass of water today. :gulp:

Just checking in to say Hi!

I got another great exercise tape at the library the other day. (I get them and then copy if I like them.) This one has a segment where you do ab work sitting in a chair. There is one exercise for upper abs, one for lower abs, one for both, and one for obliques. Since I can't get down on the floor (unless someone is here to help me back up) I am really excited that I found this. And believe me...you really work the abs doing this.

Right now I am doing two sets of 8 of each exercise in the morning and repeating at night. As I get stronger I will add sets. My abs are sore...in a good way. Gotta shrink this big belly somehow. :D

Oh yeah...I took half a Phen (37.5) this morning. First time since Christmas. I had a horrible case of the munchies yesterday...I ate extra fruit all day...so thought I would give myself some help today.
I feel so buzzed after not having any for such a long time. Sure have lots of energy though. And I have been very good with my food. Also drinking lots of water...even more than usual as it is getting a bit warm (81 right now) here...which means I am not straying far from the bathroom. :D

Well, back to work on my web site. I will let y'all know when it is up and running. ;)

Ok Nitra this really stinks went to the doctor today and instead of losing I gained. :mad: I knew I felt bloated and crappy guess its cuse I gained some. My question is when is my month up? I'm hoping the extra weight is water :D so that I can still lose my 3 pounds. :cool:

I didn't get all my exercise in this week but made it to the gym atleast 3 days. :( I promise I will drink a ton of water cut down on my coffee and get to the gym.

Paula that is probably water weight. You have another week. Just hang in there. Remember if you are off this month you can do this on an average basis too.

PA you go girl! I just dont know what to say. You are going to kick all our butts if we dont get it in gear.

Stacy at least you did something. Dont worry girl. I like the Travolta plan! But that would mean you gotta work out like a zillion hours a day.

Twista let us know when you get home! Stay there much longer and you will sound southern!

i'm not working out today dangit. i did 4 hours of volunteer work and HAVE to work on my studio!!

i feel guilty but my good deeds override it! heehee!

but i had a salad for lunch!

i haven't been drinking enough water! i can't seem to do it lately. what should i do?

Stacy girl do I need to send you a monster mug to get you to drink your water??? At least you would get your weight lifting in daily carrying this thing around! You can also use it for self defense if you get mugged. Just smak em with the cup and they would be down for the count!

A few ideas, I like really really cold water, freeze bottles, then you can carry them with you and as they melt you have ice water! Instead of ordering tea or coke with a meal get water! Make yourself drink at least 64 oz of water before you allow yourself anything else to drink. Ok I have my glass of OJ in the morning first but no tea, soda or anything until the water intake is done. Then I can have something else but for everything I drink I have another 8 oz of water. Getting pretty good at this.

You can also take water, lemon juice and some splenda and make lemonade! Yes it counts for the water, and the lemon juice works as a natural diuretic and makes you go http://www.weight-goals.com/forum/images/smiles/pottytrain3[1].gif

oh yes! i'll do the lemonade thing! thanks nitra...i'm usually so good about water - it's weird...i've been drinking a lot of diet sodas lately - which i never did either.

perhaps it's that now that i have the ability to work on my business from home i don't structure myself as much as being out of the house running around...i've been noticing the last week or two i can have a big glass of water and half the day goes by and it's still sitting there!!! :eek: (i wondered why i was booking those kathleen turner type voice jobs!!!)

I had to stop buying soda totally. If it is in the house Ill grab one and not think a thing about doing so. I started keeping a pitchure of that cold brew ice tea, sweetened with splenda, in the fridge, also keep some crystal light made up a lot of the time, and then the water. Just make it where having a soda is work. You actually have to leave and go buy one. Then only allow yourself to buy 1! It really helped me cut back on mine.

Ok start chugging that water girl!

good lord, i swear lesser calories is making me dumb...i just went out to run some errands - and do i stop a the store to get lemons & splenda!? pain in the A!!!

now i gotta walk up & down one flight of stairs and walk a block to & from the store! haha! ;)

Ok here we are almost finished another week. I have been drinking my water and exercised every half an hour every day. This weekend is going to be a little messed being the last weekend we work. Tonight and tomorrow night we have going away parties. Boy will I be glad not to have to get up before the roosters on the weekends.

AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!

How's that for an explanation.!

I haven't been on a scale since last november..when I was at 196 lbs...I had FINALLY broken the 200lb mark...

So what do I do...I got on the scales today after I went and bought one..

I was close to tears and definitely angry at myself..I weighed in this morning at 233. How in the H E L L is it possible to gain almost 40 lbs??? I'm sure i've been at this weight since January but I just don't get it.. OK..I do get it but I don't want to believe that after all that work I just apparantly said "screw it". When I took that TSA job I lost all structure and focus..all of the sudden life was easy for the first time in a LONG time...and I gave up all my control.

I have been in denial for a few months about the weight gain (convinced that the dryer shrunk my clothes lol!).

so now I have a start weight for the Cruise Challenge

233!

I've started taking phen again.. I'll keep ya posted..for now, I'm going to go shopping with my sister and just be grateful for what I do have....and the fact that I'm even here to whine and complain.

I love having you guys and this forum as a place to come to...perhaps I should just be coming here more often...

Ok...venting done for now....

You guys are doing so great..keep it up and I'll be trudging along & catch up soon!

I've missed you girl! So glad to have you back with us and very excited that I will get to meet you in October.

Sorry about the weight gain but it will come back off. Like Nitra said "It's a new day!"

So much has happened in both our lives since we chatted last. I quit my job at the Senior Center, which means I can stay up late if I want to. :D No more getting up at 5:00a.m.
I hear you are in NYC now though so chats at midnight my time are probably totally out now. That's okay though...a little earlier is usually better.
Anyway, we need to set up a time to chit-chat soon!

Since I am not at the center any more I have gone into business for myself. In fact, I just published my website this afternoon.

You guys are right...the past does not equal the future. Sometimes it's just hard to remember that. I'm finally re-gaining my focus in life and so the lifestyle eating changes will follow.

You should all feel honored (yeah right!)...I came here without even having my coffee yet! :D
Got up and did my crunches then checked in here. Sundays I go out for coffee so as soon as I'm done here...I'm grabbing Tiger and we're going to our favorite bakery.
We always share a bagel while we sit outside by the fountain and enjoy the peacefulness. :)

Nal - You're doing great with that walking and yoga! And, as everyone always tells me... as you exercise you build muscle and muscle weighs more than fat. Forget the weight! Concentrate on reshaping that body and staying healthy. :heart:

Nitra - Glad you like the website. I love art...always have. All of the stuff on the site has been done on the computer. However, I can also draw and paint!

Katie - Depending on how well the inital stages of this go I am definitely open to the e-commerce idea. For now, I am starting slow. Need to pay Miss Tiger Lily's bills. They are killing my disability check! :(
But I can also envision this as becoming very successful and not only covering her bills but giving me extra...to donate to dachsie rescue or whatever...and for a little fun too! ;)

To everyone else - Hope you are all did well this week and will have a great week ahead!

As for me...I have stuck with everything I committed to so far. Am changing my diet plan though. have decided to go back to WW. So instead of my calorie goals...The new goal is to stay in my points range (30-35) each week. Hopefully that will change to a slightly lower number very soon.
Can't wait until I see two-something!!

Well I don't think I've done to hot but I have gone to the gym atleast 4 days each week. I gained weight instead of lost and drank way to much beer. :gulp: I've just had a strange attitude the last week. :mad: I promise to kick it in this week and get back to my goals. :)

Ok gang off topic just a bit. Well it is cruise related. Anyone that wants to get a cabin assignment now, we can do so, but you will have 30 days to come up with the rest of your deposit so it would make it just a little early.

Anyone that has sailed with RCCL before please make sure you have your Crown and Anchor number and have given it to me. I found a lot of them and was able to make sure they got put in your records. If you dont then you may miss out on some fun stuff like the repeaters party!

I DID get the lemons & Splenda!! yum-yum! I've gone through 2 bags of lemons already!!!heehee!

Okay - here's the scoop. Girlfriends you'd of been so proud! I did my FIRST spinning class yesterday!!! Man-o-man! NO small fete getting the big A up in the air!! haha! I was wasted!! but today I feel great!!! i'm holding off on the workout today but I did walk 20 blocks (which is a mile) in chilly wather this am...as I'm starting the weights again tomorrow (per the stated plan)...AND

...I got accupuncture today too! Anybody ever do that? Well, I'm trying it out for "hidden" stress & for this eczema type rash i've had on my hands (all prob 9/11 related) and he's throwing in weightloss as a bonus!! He put little needle pads around & in my ear (they are supposed to stick for 2 weeks) and I press them before I eat...we'll see...couldn't hurt - it's a freebie...he said "you eat too much - no good for you!" hahahah! tell me SUMPTIN I DON'T know dude! :D

I think I didnt make on thing clear on the cabin assignments...LOL Since this will move your deposit date up a couple of weeks, I wont do this unless you tell me to. If you want to wait, that is cool. I just want to give the option. Otherwise since the rest of the deposit is due May 15, I think, ..LOL.. Ill probably get the cabins in a couple weeks anyway.

Boy having mom in town is killing the workout program. At least we are doing a lot of walking. I was just starting this morning when she calls me and wants to know when I would be there to pick her up to go shopping! 9 am! Sheesh. LOL yes you and your mystery roomie! I know there are others too. I think we only have a few that dont have them but all will within the next week or so. Since they give us 30 days to pay the full deposit and we have to pay by the 15 of May anyway Ill get them set. I dont want to wait more than we have to so we can try to get the best cabins possible.

That, and my allergies are giving me fits......gripe, gripe, gripe. I'll walk LOTS in Ireland, and get back on the yoga classes when I return.

thank ya kindly! you know, as i was telling deltha in her post earlier - i have had really bad days & fallen off the wagon A LOT - the key this time seems to be just always doing it one day at a time and staying positive. and if i mess up, just refocus & start again...seems to be working cuz all i'm really doing is gym & smaller portions.

i'm going out for mexican tonight and i plan on eating whatever i want...

it's really interesting how if you change your mindset, it works! ;)

You are right! You dont have to deprive yourself of the foods you love, you just have to learn how to enjoy them without overdoing it. They have been saying for years the key to long term weightloss is moderation and exercise.

Ok where are my challengers??? Did my half hour a day but this morning I woke up at 515 and was wide awake! I actually rolled out of bed and went for a walk before I came home and popped in the cardio tape so today Ill be doing an hour by time Im finished. Water is good. Food is good.

Ok yall come on! Time is running out fast. 6 months 1 day!

I love it too. I usually keep a pitcher in the fridge. Sometimes you just gotta have something to help out with the water.

I'm here!
Just have a rough week emotionally. Tiger Lily is not doing well and it is hard for me to have my baby so sick and feel so helpless. The vet upped her meds and we are playing a wait and see game for ten more days.
I have been pretty good with sticking to my goals. The easiest one for me is the water. I am so glad I like water.

I don't think i've posted much at all... lately... i've really been going through alot lately... physically i mean. I don't know what's wrong with me... i'm always tired.. my sense of smell is all screwed up and just some other weird things.. so when i normally have time to post i've been falling asleep. Hey holpak! Sounds like you need to go see a doc and get a blood workup done.

Your deposit is paid up by the way. You wont owe anything until the end of July. I think I emailed you an updated invoice. If you didnt get it let me know and Ill resend it.

Oh good i was hoping that I didn't owe anything just yet.. just got done paying for the airplane tickets and saving for the rest of the cruise.. phew .. um no i need an updated invoice.. oh and also could you send an updated one for my cousin to her email too... she wanted me to ask ya!!

Holly I hope your feeling better. Just wanted to drop in and say hello to everyone. I've been really busy and doing terrible on my diet and exercise but promise to get back to it.

Its really cool seeing everyones cabin numbers makes it feel like its almost here. :D

Hi guys,

I'm still hanging in there..unfortunately seem to still be in limbo on the diet stuff..Maybe I should try the subway diet lol...

I've had the most seriously screwed up sleep schedle, I seem to have my days and nights backwards right now and it's really teeing me off.

I can't exercise right now as I can barely even walk, I don't know what I did but I messed up my left ankle and it seems to be the tendons that run down the outside top but sheesh it hurts! Just walking to the subway (3 blocks) and I'm limping... Hopefully it will clear up soon!

I'm in NY only for the today & tomorrow then I have to go back to NJ to my sisters..I can't wait until we get this website that I'm building live..then I can just stay in NYC and not have to be close to the company that I'm working on it for.

Ok..there's my venting for now!

Stacy - I SHOULD be able to meet next week..whats your schedule looking like??

i'm here!! we are building a garage. it's hard work! i am definatly building some muscle tone. drinking my water, and eating good. it's raining here today so i get some time off to get my house cleaned up! :D

I'm here... I had a bad two weeks... have been so tired, haven't been eating, drinking my water... been down in the dumps... but the sun is out now and I am back into the groove...I'll try to behave myself...maybe what I need is a good *** whoop'n to get me in gear... I haven't gained any weight but I guess that is because I have been skipping meals and sleeping all the time... gotta get my cruise body on...Take my cruising buds and I'll see ya later... Today ended the Bunny Challenge so I got on the old devil scale and.......
drum roll please......
I weigh 308!!!!!!

I can't believe it! Guess all the added exercise is paying off!

At this rate I will make my cruise challenge goals for sure.

Hope everyone else is doing well.
Gotta go for now. I have some shopping to do. I'm making a wedding present for my niece and need to get stuff to wrap it and get it in the mail later today.

OMG PA! You are almost in the 200s! OMG how great for you! You are going to blow us all away at this rate! You keep going at this same rate and you will be down ANOTHER 65 lbs by cruise!

Hi Phellow Cruisers!

I just thought I would check in to say hello and let you know I am having a terrific day. I think that new number on the scale has really upped my motivation. :)

Did my crunches (100/50/50) this morning and some weights this afternoon. Just finished liter #4 on water. And have been so totally good on WW today. That includes a generous 1 cup helping of FF/SF chocolate fudge ice cream. :D At 100 calories, 0 fat, and 6gr of fiber, it's only 1pt for half a cup or 2pts for what I ate. Not bad and totally deeeee-licious!

Stacy - sure wish you were going with us. I understand about the weddings but I was looking forward to meeting you.

Clara/Paula - From what I hear, one week of slacking is not going to hurt you much. Just don't let it be a habit. :)

Nitra - Thanks for noticing how close I am to the 2's. It is so exciting! I have not been under 300 since 1982.
I was looking through an old album the other day and if I can hit 250-260 by cruise time I will look sooo good. (At least compared to now!) Plus I haven't been below 260 in 28 years.

Well ladies, I am off to walk the pupper. We don't go far since she has been ill but it's still something.

Anitra I'm almost tempted to slack off just so you'll come this way. :D I haven't been back to the gym yet but I did work in my yard which wore me out. I talked to the girl I normally work out with and it looks like she wont be going with me until Tuesday. :( So I either do it at home or get over to the gym. I'll do one or the other Monday but Sunday I have things planned with the family and won't have time.

Ellen your doing great and sound so excited it makes me want to get going to. I promise I wont slack off to long but this little break has done me some good.

Ok paula.. see this was my one rare weekend off! I should have come up there and kicked your booty. Just plan that Monday you WILL get back on track.

Im up to almost an hour a day/6 days a week working out now. My goal was 3 hrs a week, and at least 64 oz of water a day. Im taking in about 96 oz of water a day and almost 6 hrs a week exercise! We have only been at this a little over a month.

Im so proud of Ellen! She inspires me to keep pushing. She is going to be one hot momma on that ship! Look out!

I know what you mean about Ellen, Ellen your doing awesome and the harder you work the more it motivates me to keep going.

Anitra I promise I will be back at the gym tomorrow no matter what. I had a great weekend with the kids and my MIL but now I have no excuse.

Your doing great with both the water and exercise. I really need to drink more water now that its getting warmer outside.

Anitra and Paula, you ladies have me blushing. Thank you for the compliments.
I just decided I need to stick with it no matter what. I have spent all 56 years of my life being FAT and am determined to not be anymore.
It's going to take awhile to get to my final goal but wth...it took me a long time to get this big...what's a couple years to get to goal. But I also know I won't get there without working for it.
I was bad yesterday though. :( Well, not end of the world bad but I did eat way too much ham. I seldom eat meat (I am a seafood and veggie lover!) but ham is a weakness. Seeing as how I ate almost nothing else all day, the calories weren't too bad. But all that salt!! :eek:
So today is extra water, lots of green tea, and an extra walk or two.

I'm back on the bandwagon! I know I walked at least 5 miles a day in Ireland. Driving was too scary! As soon as we could, we parked the car and hoofed it everywhere. Unfortunately, the food and the Guiness were mighty good, so I think I probably came out about even. My calves are rock hard, though!

I'm through the worst of the jet lag, no more excuses. My blisters are almost all healed, so I am going for a 4 mile walk with my girlfriend today. It's not raining, so off we go.

Glad you are back! I'm so jealous...I've always wanted to go to Ireland. My paternal grandmother's parents were both born there.

Great going on all the walking. Hope you enjoy the 4 miles today too.

I had an FMS flare and ended up only doing 25 crunches and a short walk. But no pain today so my normal day off is now an exercise day. I've already hit the pavement and walked two miles and will be doing crunches in a little while.
