Hello everyone. I have been watching this site for a week now deciding if I should fill my perscription or not. I have 70 lbs to loose and have been fighting with my weight for a very long time. See once I corrected my eating habits like filling my face when I was freaked out or scared or whatever. I could still not loose weight..MMMM! Now let's see after that I went to several dioeticians to help me in the diet department. I already have a nutrition degree but still I was sent there.Well it has been 2 long years and after a series of tests they have determined that my metabolism is slower than a snail. So this is the prescription. I am going to be taking 30 mg once a day and then I am to basically see what will happen from there. It seems to me like most of you worked very hard excercising to get the weight off> I wondered if the pill really worked or if it was all of the excercise? I also work out every couple of days to four times a week and still nothing. My calories are measured already and have been for 1 year already so that is not the answer.I guess I just wanted to say hello and tell my story too. I hope this will help in getting things going for me as I have suffered a serious back injury in the last 4 weeks and must get the weight off to hopefully to help me in the future.I am so afraid that this will fail for me as all of the other things have. Please if anyone has any other stories or advice that I have not already read about their loss and how they did it with excercise or without I would love to be guided and advised by you. I am so scared that this will not work for me and the long term prognosis is not very good for me unless I do not get weight off. Thanks in advance to all of you if any that reply and take me under your wings of encouragement!

heyy - sorry i dont have much of a reply for you other than the stuff youve read here about exercise and eating in moderation but i can tell you if you post your post in the "My Experience with Phentermine" part of the forum you will probably get the most responses because most of the action goes on there- ok well good luck !

Hi summer_rain

and welcome - I wish you all the best in your weight loss. JTSD115 is right - for more advice and encouragement, it's better to go to the "My experience" forum as it does get more activity.

Do not despair, and be positive - it will work out for you! :)

oNE THING THAT YOU MAY TRY IN WHICH I HAVE HAD GREAT SUCCESS IS DOING THE ATKINS DIET...WITH THE PHEN. THERE ARE A LOT OF RUMORS ABOUT THE ATKINS DIET THAT ARE ABSOLUTELY NOT TRUE....IT IS A VEY SAFE AND VERY QUICK RESULT DIET! I THINK YOU WOULD DO WELL. LOW FAT/LOW CAL REALLY DOESN'T WORK...ITS LOW CARB!!! WITH THE PHEN IT WILL ONLY INCREASE IT BECAUSE YOU SHOULDNT HAVE THE SUGAR CRAVINGS IF YOUR NOT HUNGRY! I HAVE BEEN ON THE PHEN FOR 1 MONTH WITH THE ATKINS DIET AND HAVE LOST 30 LBS!!! BEST OF LUCK

K9 that is so aesome thirty pounds holy cow in one month my gosh girl you go!! I am familiar with the atkins diet but the problem is eating all of that meat really bothered my stomach so I had to give it up. I agree though that carbs are a serious issue for most of us and this is what I am slowly cutting out on my own.. TRhanks for the reply though. And good luck on your weight loss for the future. How much do you have to loose in total?? Keep us imformed of your progress your an inspiration.

Summer,

I am so glad to hear that u are not doing the atkins thing. I have a friend that did it religiously for 2 years, and she lost 80 pounds. Great for her except, now every year she has a reocurring case of kidney stones. The diet messed up her digestive system so bad, that now her disease is chronic and will never cease. She gets so sick from it that the has to stay in the hospital each time. Anyways...back on topic here..

I lost over 100 pounds about 2 years ago. I still had about 40 pounds more to lose. For the past 2 years, i have exercised 5 times a week every week. I never missed a day. I too am genetically screwed in the metabolism department. I can honestly tell you that for a period of 6 months of exercising like crazy, a personal trainer, and a strict exemption of mayonaise and fast food, I could not lose any weight! This is when i discovered Phentermine. I figured i tried everything, so this can't hurt. I am beginning my 3rd week on the drug, and i have lost a total of 15 pound so far. ( 15 pounds in 2 and a half weeks) Thats huge! I was so excited to see the scale move again, it's encouraging. Phentermine did something for me....
I, a gym freak, nutrition freak, thought i was doing everything possible to take care of myself. Well i was wrong. Phentermine took away my hungar, actually my obsession. I would eat healthy, but i realized how bad my habbits were. I used to eat everynight after i got home from work at midnight. I would eat a whole meal. Thats like 500 to 600 calories, when my metabolism is at it's slowest. Since beginning this drug, i have started a new thing. I DO NOT eat after 8. I now eat purely for nutrition, and i don't spend my days thinkin about what i am going to eat next. From using this drug, i have gone from a 2200 calorie minimum, to a 1200 calorie average. I always told myself that i could eat because i was going to work out. Phentermine opened my eyes. I think if u have tried everything, this might just help you figure out what u are doing wrong. We are all heavy because of what we eat, and if that constant feeling of wanting food is gone, you have time to take control of ur life.

Goodluck

There isn't anything wrong with atkins, I can't believe anyone would say that!

Just kidding :p

actually, it isn't something that EVERYONE should try. I actually did it with my doctors approval-the post above reminded me about something that he said - DRINK A LOT of water, because if you don't you could get kidney stones...because this type of diet does put stress on your kidneys.

I DON'T LOOK AT PHEN AS A "MAGIC" PILL IT HAS CHANGED THE WAY I THINK ABOUT EATING I DON'T EAT VERY MUCH TO BEGIN WITH SO FOR ME IT WAS EATING THE RIGHT THINGS WHEN I DON EAT INSTEAD OF A POPTART I'LL HAVE AND APPLE OR CHICKEN SOMETHING GOOD FOR ME AND IT ALSO HELPS ME TO DRINK A LOT OF WATER CAUSE IT MAKES ME SOOOOO THIRSTY AND LAST BUT DEFINITLY NOT LEAST IT MAKES ME WANT TO EXCERCISE..GET OUT AND WALK OR WHATEVER EVENTUALLY I AM GOING TO JOIN A GYM WHEN I GET THE FUNDS TO DO SO......SO YOU ARE RIGHT EVERYONE HERE HAS WORKED HARD TO LOSE THE WEIGHT BY DOING WHATEVER IT IS THEY DO BUT SOME PEOPLE(LIKE ME)NEED A LITTLE HELP AND THAT'S WHAT PHEN IS FOR ME...A LITTLE HELPER
