View Full Version : Side effects

I've been using Xenical for almost 2 weeks now, so I can definitely tell about the side effects! The first couple of days I did have some of that "gross" oily discharge, but it wasn't like something that you couldn't control (and I wore a pad for extra security!) -- you definitely see that oil in the bathroom (if you know what I mean). The good news is that it only lasted for about the first week, and now I'm relatively back to normal. So I think it's just an adjustment period!

I do like the Xenical though. Absolutely no side effects on your heart rate or any of those other things associated with some other meds. I'm not knocking the other stuff. In fact, if it works, I say go for it!

I lost 100 lbs on my own and was desperately seeking a way to get out of the "limbo" I've been in for the past 7 months. The first week on Xenical I lost almost 6 lbs (a lot of water though). After a month on Meridia I only lost ONE pound and I never felt "right" on the meridia. I had a constant dull headache and I felt a little depressed, but that might have been a coincidence?

I just wish the Xenical wasn't so expensive! I'm trying to fight with my insurance to get them to pay for it! :D

Hello there,

Xenical is a prescription weight loss medication by Roche pharmaceuticals. Xenical works on your digestive system to help prevent the absorption of one-third of the dietary fat. It is sure proper use of Xenical, always use the medicine only as the advised by your doctor and at the prescribed dosage. There is only one standard Xenical dosage regardless of your age, weight or other medical conditions. The use of Xenical should be combined with a physician supervised reduced calorie, low-fat diet. If you reduce a diet that is rich in fat, you increase your chances of getting embarrassing Xenical side-effects such as diarrhea and uncontrolled bowel movement. While reducing the absorption of fat in your body, Xenical may also reduce the absorption of certain essential vitamins from your diet.

Thanks a lot
Terry Moran
