Do you get your prescription for Adderall from your regular physician?? Or do you have to go to a special doctor for that?

Thanks

My regular doc gave me choices of what I wanted to take. I chose the Phen.

I guess it depends on the doctor. Just as there are doctors that don't like perscribing Phen, there are doctors that are hesitant about perscribing Adderall. Adderall is typically given to patients who are ADD/ADHD. Some general physicians will do it, some psychiatrists will. I've not heard of a doc giving Adderall to lose weight. I could be wrong though. Chemically it is very similar to Phen though.

My son took Adderall for ADHD. I can see that a person would lose wait on it but for some one with out ADHD it would belike doing crack. My son was so thin that was one of the reasons we took him off it also the mood swings.
