I just started my phentermine today. My question is how much weight does the average person lose permonth on phen? My goal is to lose 25 to 30 lbs.

My doctor had me on Xenical for over a month. I have ONLY lost 3 lbs. and feel that it is useless! I had been on Paxil for 6 months and gained a HUGE amount of weight. The food craving were horrible on Paxil!! ( A great anti-depressant, but it really puts the weight on!)

Now, I'm back on Prozac for the depression. The only depression I have is from the WEIGHT-GAIN I put on from the Paxil!!

Can anyone offer advise on how well the phentermine works? How much I can except to lose per month? Does it really take your food cravings away etc?

Please reply!!

Thanks!!

Hi there, I think that doctors advise that a healthy weight loss is about 2-3 pounds per week (with most suggesting you aim not to lose more than 2 pounds). Losing weight very quickly is very bad for your body and studies have shown that the quicker you lose weight, the greater the odds are that you gain it all back. You have to learn new eating habits while you are losing weight, the goal shouldn't be to just not eat at all.

As far as I understand, phentermine works to suppress your appetite and it reduces your hunger pains and cravings for food. It is supposed to be used in conjunction with a healthy diet.

Hope that helps some!
