Effexor XR & Phentermine

I started taking Effexor XR about 5 or 6 months ago and I love it. It's a miracle drug for me! I've been trying to lose weight also that's part of my depression. When I started losing weight I was 170. I am 152 now. I lost 16 pds. on my own (170 - 16 = 154) and now 2 pds. so far on Phen (only a week into it). Needless to say, Effexor XR has different effects on different people. They said it would either make me gain or lose weight. I was hoping for the later part. Anyway, it didn't happen. I've maintained 154 since I started taking Effexor XR and continued to exercise and eat well. I've been taking Phen for a week now and I haven't had any horrible side effects from taking both of them together.

I take Effexor XR and just started taking Phen about 2 months ago.

My loss hasn't been what I would have liked. I don't know if the Effexor is causing me to hang on to my weight or not. I didn't know that it could make you gain weight either. Hmmmm, guess I should ask my doctor about that.

If you don't mind saying.......what mg of Effexor are you taking and what mg of Phen are you taking?

Sorry it has taken me so long to reply. I was cking this post all the time, but no one seemed to be interested in it.

Yes, Effexor XR will keep the weight on you, or make you gain or lose. It all depends on your system I guess.

I'm on 150 mg. of Effexor XR and 30 mg. of Phen once a day.

I go to my doctor on October 22 and I am going to see if there is something else she can give me other than Effexor or what her thoughts are regarding it making you gain weight.

I'm also going to ask if maybe the Effexor is making the phentermine not work as well.

I'm just looking for answers.......LOL
