Hi I have been on celexa for 2 years and i have gained24 pounds on it. My doctor put me on phentermine 30 mgs and i am on 40 mg of celexa. i have been on phentermine for about 1 year. i have not lost no weight but the important thing is i have stopped gaining. when i go off the phentermine i am hungry all the time i mean really hungry i eat large proportions the celexa triggers something in my brain that tells me i am hungry..im not kidding it did the same thing with efexor. i wish i could loose some weight i talked to my pharisist and he said unfortuatly many people gain weight with antidepressants and he could not think of one that you did not gain weight. i dont know what to do my daughter is getting married in 2 months i am the heaviest ib ever been i dont know if i should be fat and happy or depressed and thin!!!!!!!!!! i though of taking 2 phentermines has anyone ever taken more than 30 mg and did it help. anyone have any advice for me! thank you

Do you still need the Celexa? Talk with your doc and see if he's willing to taper you off a bit. Don't just quit on your own, and don't quit suddenly. SSRIs should be tapered off gradually.

Most folks take a maximum of 37.5 mg of phen a day. Some take more on their own, and some have reported that their doc prescribed the higher dosages. Everything that I've read online about phen mentions the 37.5 mg daily max, though, so again, I'd discuss it with your doc.

Good luck!

Gerry
