Hi, I just joined up and was reading a few things and came across Hypthyrodism subject and I have Hypothyrodism and Im taking Synthoid and Meridia too. I lost some weight but I don't take it everyday like I probably should but I really would like to take something that cost less and that I can really see a fast weight loss. So what about this Tenuate Dospan or this Phentermine I see, is it safe with my thyroid problem.
Thanks,
Cinderella3 :)

Hi I am taking Phen with Synthroid. I had my entire Thyroid removed via surgery two years ago. Weight has been an uphill battle ever since. I just started the phen two weeks ago. Lost 8 lbs. so far. I was wondering what you do when whatever your taking loses effectiveness. Do I switch to Meridia or something else? And can you keep ordering from this website? My 3 month Phen bottle says no refills. What do I do in 3 months?

Synthroid is T4, a thyroid hormone your body has to convert to the active form, T3, to use. People tend to do better when they're on a brand of thyroid hormone that includes some T3 too, like Armour or Thyrolar.

There's tons of info at the message boards at www.thyroid.about.com.

By the way, I kind of suspect phentermine raises thyroid hormone levels in the body - would think T3 most likely.
