Hello guys!! I am a somewhat new memeber. I actually haven't took phentermine before. I am considering. I am only 4'11 and weigh about 125 which i know don't sound like a lot but when you are this short it shows. I actually only want to loose about 15 pounds. So i hope you don't mind but i have a couple of questions:
1. After you get to your goal weight how much should you take?? I know if i stop i will gain it right back. Do you just take a couple a week??
2. Do you need to take any Vitamins or Potassium with phentermine??

Thanks for your help and listening.

I am not sure what to tell you on this I know when I started I had to go through all types of tests at the dr's office to make sure my body was ok to use the medication, blood work, thyroid tests and what not, I also take iron pills with my phen because my blood was low, so i say the best thing to do is talk with your dr about the medication before getting on it just to make sure that this medication is right for you!

I wish you tbe best and hope to see ya around the board!

I think you need to talk to your dr about this. You don't want to put your health on the line for a few pounds. I mean.. maybe he can advise you on what kind of vitnams will be best and what kind of tests you might need to take before you take phen. You never know, your body might not be able to take phen. I ordered my phen from online but I had a presc from my Dr. So this is the best advice I can give you as a phen-friend and supporter. Let me know what happens and good luck!!

I'm trying to figure that out too. Just how much phen do you take when you're at goal weight??? Like would you take a 1/2 pill a day? One pill every other day? I know everybody's different but I'm just asking to see if anybody has any ideas. Or do you wait to gain some of the weight back and then go back on the phen till you get back down? I know everybody says the phen is suppossed to teach you how to eat right and everythnig and I believe it does but I have to say when I reach goal, I'll be relucant to say I'll never gain any of the weight back or have a need for phen. So it just seems that there should be some way of avoiding all that and kind of being on a maintainance dose of phen or something. I also am aware that it's FDA approved for three months of continuous use at a time which makes me think you can do an on/off approach to it.

Well...
If you are at your goal weight and if it was me, I would just get me a good 3 day work out schul going, eat health, and try my best to maintain good eating habits. If I felt like I was starting to pick up weight here and there. I may then start back with a half tab a day.(per-Doc)orders.
I'm not sure how long you have to be off phen in order to restart a new cycle. I mean...month to month I don't know. But if you go from Dec06-Dec07 them yes that should be ok. Let me know what you find out.

Chow for now!

The phen helps you get to the goal weight by helping you learn how to eat healthy .. (LOW CALORIES INTAKE) so in theory by the time you come off of phen you should be used to the habits in eating that it makes you form and be able to stick to them without the pill.

Jennimara, I know that I told you this before but we weigh around the same........your rate of losing weight depends on alot of things...how you eat, if you exercise, your age, etc. I lost approximately 8 lbs since Christmas...I have 8 more to go but my weight loss has slowed down significantly....I hope to lose another 5 in the month of February. 5 lbs a month is realistic for someone of your size, that isn't to say that you won't lose more. Just don't compare yourself to a 200 lbs person that loses ten lbs a week.....

Personally, I would start to taper off BEFORE I reach my goal weight. Your body will have time to detox from the drug and you will be able to test the waters and adjust what you are doing as needed. Once you hit your goal weight, you need to be prepared to stay at goal. Research maintainance, explore what you have learned, and wean yourself off while you still have a bit left to help you if you really need it.
