I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY A PHARMACIST THAT PHENTERMINE IS NO LONGER BEING MANUFACTURED AND AS SOON AS EXISTING SUPPLIES ARE DEPLETED IT WILL NO LONGER BE AVAILABLE. IS THIS SO, AND IF SO, WHY!!!!!!!
AN UNHAPPY PHENTERMINE USER

I'm experiencing the same thing, I heard
that it has been discontinued. I have an existing prescription, but every pharmacy in my area says the same thing.

I have heard several rumors and have had to call several pharmacies to get my prescription. Some say they are not going to send out any more Phentermine, another said they heard there was a fire where they make it and the cost is going to rise every month. If you hear anything let me know.

Just picked up a prescription of the brand name Adipex today. Pharmacies here in Lancaster, PA have phentermine on back order and don't expect any until the Fall. But they do expect it.

There has been a shortage of the compound that's used to make phentermine, because the company that makes the compound has been shut down to retool their plant. However, they're supposedly back on line now, and their compound should be available in a couple of months.

My Dr. informed me that the plant had a fire, so the generic form of phen was not available at this time. However, the name brand phen is still kicking! If anyone hears any more news, please share!!! We'd all feel like this  if they stopped producing it, right??!!

Just went to order a three month supply of Phentermine and was surprised at the increase in price... I decided to e-mail the company to see why... The answer was their contract pharmacy in Virginia has temporarily stopped filling prescriptions and they are actively seeking an alternative pharmacy.. Doesn't look good for those who use Phentermine.. According to recent articles Europe has stopped selling,US is not far behind... Now what???

This is wrong. There is a problem with the plant that manufactures raw phentermine powder, and it looks like it will be the end of the year before they're in production again. The raw powder is what all manufacturers of phentermine hydrochloride pills and capsules use, hence the shortage. However, it does not affect phentermine resin (Ionamin).

Celltech Medeva has had some temporary shortages of Ionamin as it tries to keep up with the demand created by the phentermine hydrochloride shortage, but it is still being manufactured and is available.

I've been covering the phentermine shortage fairly closely in my newsletter, and have developed a list of manufacturers and suppliers which will be useful to physicians trying to find supplies for dispensing in office.

Haven't spoken with any of the parties in about a month, but will probably run another phentermine shortage update in November.
